The Audi TTR RS: A Controversial yet Thrilling Addition to the TT Range
This is my long-term Audi TTR RS, and what really differentiates it from the rest of the TT range is what's under the bonnet. The 2.5L 5-cylinder turbocharged engine produces around 335 brake horsepower, according to Audi. However, I can attest that it feels like it has more than that - it's a terrific engine that delivers exceptional performance and sound.
The TTR RS has been a subject of controversy since its release, mainly due to its price point, which starts at around £50,000 once you add a few extras. Many people think it's too expensive for a TT, but I can confidently say that it's worth every penny. I've had the pleasure of owning this car for a couple of months now, and in that time, it's done an impressive 6,000 miles with barely any major issues. The reason for its reliability is largely due to the positive feedback from anyone who drives it - they always come back raving about it, which is not something you'd typically expect from a car on our "hit list."
The engine of the TTR RS is truly the heart of this car, and it's not just about the performance figures. It's the way it delivers power that makes all the difference. The sound is absolutely superb, and it's ready to go wherever you are in the rev range - whether it's 200rpm or 6,000, stick your foot down, and you're away. The TTR RS has incredible acceleration, and I can attest to this firsthand. We had a test drive of the car last week on the Autobahn, where we were able to let rip and reach an impressive speed of 171 mph - which, according to our GPS, was actually 168mph.
One area of controversy surrounding the TTR RS is its rear wing. Some people claim that it spoils the lines of the car, while others believe it gives it a bit more aggression. I'm sitting on the fence when it comes to this particular aspect, but overall, I think it adds a touch of sophistication to an already impressive design.
When it comes to ride and handling, the TTR RS is fairly stiffly set up, which makes it effective in terms of handling rather than dynamic. It's not quite like a car like the M3, which excels in that area. However, it has an incredible amount of grip - almost as if it wants you to get through the corner so you can get back on the power again. I had the chance to test drive the TTR RS at Silverstone for one of our track days when it was raining, and it performed flawlessly. It was able to navigate just about everything else on the track with ease, and all I could do was enjoy the thrill of driving such a capable car.
I'm pleased to say that I'll be keeping my TTR RS until the end of the year - but I shouldn't be the only one who's excited about this car. We've also got a project TT in the works, which you may not have heard much about over the past few months. Let's just say we're big fans of this particular model, and we can't wait to share our plans with you soon.
Overall, the Audi TTR RS is an exceptional addition to the TT range - it delivers on performance, handling, and style, making it a must-have for any driving enthusiast.

engine which uh puts out around 335 brake horsepower well that's what Audi would tell you it actually feels a lot fitter than that it feels like it's got more it's terrific engine um but it's certainly controversial this car mainly because uh it comes in at around £50,000 once you put a few extras on it which uh a lot of people think it's too much for a TT so I've had it for a couple of months now uh and in that time it's done 6,000 Mi basically it's barely Stood Still and that's because anybody who drives it comes back raving about it and it's not something that you would perhaps
