**The Ultimate Speed: A Drive with the Bugatti Chiron**
As I got behind the wheel of the Bugatti Chiron, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and nervousness. The car's massive engine roared to life beneath me, its 1,479 horsepower ready to unleash its fury on the track. "Do you think it would have been faster if it had been warmer?" I asked my friend, who was accompanying me on this thrilling drive. He replied that colder temperatures can actually make the air thicker and more resistant, which could reduce the car's top speed.
**The Grand Touring Experience**
As we set off, I felt a sense of comfort and safety wash over me. The Bugatti Chiron is not just a car, but an experience in itself. Its sleek design and luxurious interior create a cocoon of tranquility, making it feel like you're driving a private jet rather than a high-performance sports car. But make no mistake, this is a machine capable of incredible speeds, and as we hit the track, I knew that I was about to find out just how fast it could go.
**Speed and Acceleration**
The Bugatti Chiron's acceleration is nothing short of astonishing. As we launched off the starting line, I felt the car's massive power surging through its gears, propelling us forward with incredible force. The speedometer climbed higher and higher, until we reached an astonishing 340 km/h on the straightaway. But that was just the beginning - as we continued to push the limits of the car's performance, the speedometer ticked up even further, until we finally reached a mind-boggling top speed of over 350 km/h.
**The Engineering Behind the Bugatti Chiron**
As I delved deeper into the workings of the Bugatti Chiron, I discovered just how remarkable its engineering is. The car's tires, for example, are capable of spinning at an incredible 32,000 RPM - that's 3,000g on the tread surface, which is equivalent to a force of 3Kg per G. This kind of force requires incredibly strong springs and specialized valves in the tire itself, just to keep it all contained.
**A Conversation with the Engineers**
I had the opportunity to speak with some of the engineers who work on the Bugatti Chiron, and I was struck by their passion and expertise. "The tires are a very interesting challenge," one of them told me. "At high speeds, the tire can start to leak air due to the forces at play." To address this issue, they developed unique valves that are capable of withstanding these extreme conditions.
**A Day at the Test Track**
As I continued to drive the Bugatti Chiron around the test track, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and wonder. This is truly a car for dreamers - people who want to experience the thrill of speed and performance in a way that's unmatched by any other roadster or supercar. And as we took on every corner and straightaway with confidence and precision, it was clear that this is a machine capable of achieving speeds that few cars can match.
**The Verdict**
In conclusion, my drive with the Bugatti Chiron was an unforgettable experience - one that left me in awe of its sheer speed and performance. Whether cruising down the highway or taking on the track, this car is truly something special. And as I signed the contract to purchase my own version of the Bugatti Chiron, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation for what's to come.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwe're at a very special place today this is era vw's test track where they do all the highspeed runs with the verel and today they're going for another world record they've already have the world record with the super sport of 268.7 milph they're going to try it with the vitess which is their Grand Sport convertible open car and they're going to set another world record and they very kindly invited us to come and witness this and this I've always wanted to go to era because it's a really special place steeped in history built in 1964 21 km lap with these oval uh Bank curves at the ends no other place in the world like it and this is where all the real top speed runs are done this is where McLaren came with their F1 and Andy Wallace and they did 243 mph long here car hasn't arrived yet they're going to run it at midday we're waiting for it to arrive chat called Anthony uh Lee from uh China is going to be driving it this time um the car at the moment um we're told is going to do around just over 400 km an hour so about 255 miles hour with the roof off normally it's limited to 375 km an hour which is about 233 we just can't wait it's a bit chilly today it's about 56° they'd like it a bit warmer um but we're just waiting for the action to start here it is it's got the roof on they've searched everywhere and there is no top speed record run with a for open top car so this is actually going to set the the speed record he said if it's a magic number 400 km an hour just as it was with the original hard top Veron and uh they want to up set a speed around 410 km an hour We're hearing maybe a little bit more we'll see I a little worried that forgotten the speed key but unfortunately he has it in in the goet but U deploys it later well batti has set this up so we can monitor the speed it's doing it's GPS tracked gives a live readout of the actual speed it's doing uh you see the graph coming up he's just making his way to the track and he's just getting to the start he's at 202 km just on his way there before he's even on track so I say the target is over 400 km an hour which is a serious serious spe well 390 clicks and we can't even see him so he's only at the start of the straight whoa he's gone past 400 he's gone past 400 he's not you can't even see him there we go here we go 406 407 407 whoa 407 he went past us I've never seen a cargo fastest at that speed faster than any car at lamon just insane fantastic done a quick calculation 407 is about 254 mph remember that's roof off Superman K is 4884 km hour well there we go I thought it's 47 but it's actually 48.8 4 I must have blinked at the wrong moment when I on screen um it's a about 254 255 mph quite an amazing speed in an open top car is that the fastest you ever been in a Veron yeah it is yeah what's it like without the roof with that sort of speed surprisingly quiet and comfortable I had the heat seater on not cold at all I'm actually colder now yeah yeah it's it's very uh what the the speed is absolutely I mean disorientating but but you know you feel very comfortable and then uh very safe do you think that was the ultimate speed do you think You' get if you had another go or do you think absolutely it just topped out at that speed was it still accelerating didn't seem to be I think um if if the conditions improve a little thank you very much improve a bit like I mean obviously the wind is uh is blowing in the right direction now you can have a little bit more yeah I think so yeah so you if it had been a bit warmer you think it would have was that what you were told definitely because colder temperature is uh thicker density in air it's more resistance in a way I mean the car is always going to do whatever the conditions allows it to the driver pushes it to so I mean yeah cool and if you are you going to buy one of these cars do I understand I I just signed a contract yesterday with good friend of Mr go I don't know where he is he's a Bugatti Far East uh distributor all right so you're going to get one yeah have you got a ver on at the moment or no no not yet so this is the first waiting for the ultimate version and here it is and there it is yeah it's my favorite version as well I have to say the grand SW yeah well congratulations great speed thank you very much well done oh my Lord what am I signing away so it's um it's a 2 million pound car I think this is clearing me to drive around the test track yeah 1.99 million EOS plus tax I'll make that A2 million pound car there we go it's all mine when we go out there just some things to think about cuz he won't be able to hear anything that we're saying inside the car but as we come off the banking it's 11 km straight in front of you it's like that dream French utter route when you're thinking I could Max a car here but you D because of je DS It's that sort of thing it's so long when you're on it and you'll you get up to speed so fast you just got this open space and you'll see this sort of mirror on the horizon as the as the road goes away from you and it's just ahead of you all the way down the straet and it's it's mindboggling and how long the straight is but it the Veron is just full of details it can do this sort of speed this is really for me the home of the Veron cuz this this is the only place a test track where you can really test the high speed of a ver some of the details I was talking to the engineers over lunch the tires Infamous tires on the veon worth Fortune 20,000 or so as set why is that well these things are spinning at 32,000 RPM at maximum speed on a Veron and that means there's 3,000g on that tread surface that's the forces is going through so 1 G of rubber uh at that 3,000 G weighs 3 Kg so that's the sort of forces we're dealing with if you look at the um valves inside there you can't see it just looks like an ordinary Tire valve but it's actually not because they had to put super strength Springs in the in the valve itself cuz at that sort of speed of rotation the ordinary car valve just starts to leak a little bit of air because that spring can't hold the valve shut at at 250 M hour so unique uh valves on it is that s of detail right through this Veron that I just find so fascinating it is just full of mindboggling facts anyway let's get out on the track and let's just see we're going to go up to about 340 km an hour and just experience what this car is like without the roof on at 220 M hour Pier HRI can I just borrow you I want to show your boots look Pier HRI vitess Bugatti on the side you just get those with a car do you the fastest sunglasses I've ever seen carbon fiber sunglasses buatti yeah you see we have all just everything right oh okay e oh I never Tire of the barrel just the way it fills speeds it's unreal W bretty then PE and off and you just turn it off you don't worry about it and there's no fans going or anything every other car have every calling fan going remarkable your space thanks every so much hry always pleasure fantastic oh dear what an amazing car um I noticed we got up to 350 km an hour there cruising along and on the power meter I noticed it was at 700 uh horsepower it was using so I had 500 horsepower left to go cruising along at 220 M an hour what an amazing car it is ohwe're at a very special place today this is era vw's test track
