Will it Play - GTA V - Ryzen 3 2200G - VEGA 8 - Benchmark

The reviewer has been testing various gaming configurations using the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X APU, and in this particular review, they are discussing their experience with a budget-friendly configuration that uses 8GB of RAM.

The reviewer's main system RAM usage is the interlaced one, utilizing about 5.1 gigabytes of RAM and using about 2 gigabytes of VRAM. They mention that they have set aside almost all of the available VRAM for their games, leaving only a small amount free. However, the reviewer notes that this configuration still manages to provide smooth performance in many games.

The reviewer notes that multi-channel RAM is absolutely required for dual-channel configurations, while single-channel RAM is "atrocious" and not recommended. They also mention that 16GB of RAM is not strictly necessary for good performance, but having more RAM does help. The reviewer has tested both 8GB and 16GB configurations and notes that the difference in performance between the two is relatively small.

Regarding memory speed, the reviewer has used DDR4 RAM with a clock speed of 3200MHz, which they find to be fast and expensive. They note that this is not a huge difference from the slower 2400MHz speed, but it does provide a noticeable improvement in benchmarking results. The reviewer concludes that getting the faster memory speed is worth the extra cost, especially if you're planning to play games at high settings.

The reviewer also shares their experience playing GTA V on this budget configuration, noting that they did not have any issues with performance or responsiveness. They mention that the game ran smoothly and responsively, even at high frame rates, and conclude that this is an excellent value for its price.

Finally, the reviewer provides some context about their testing process, mentioning that they have tested many games on this configuration and have found it to be a great option for those who are on a tight budget. They also mention that they will be sharing more information and results from these tests in future videos.

Benchmark Chart:

The reviewer shares an image of the benchmark chart from FRAPS, which shows average frame rates and low frame rates for GTA V. According to the chart, the game averaged 36 frames per second during its test run, with a 1% low of 24 and a 0.1% low of 18. The reviewer notes that this may seem like an unplayable frame rate at first glance, but in reality, they found the game to be smooth and responsive.

Conclusion:

The reviewer concludes that the Ryzen 5 5600X APU is a great value for its price, offering excellent performance and features without breaking the bank. They encourage viewers who are on a tight budget to consider this configuration as an option for playing modern games like GTA V. The reviewer thanks their audience for watching and invites them to share their comments below.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello and welcome to tech deals will it play Grand Theft Auto 5 on the Rison 320 200 G $99 APU yes it will conditionally it's not perfect but this is 1080p high detail you can certainly lower the resolution you can certainly lower the detail settings but this is impressive 1080p high detail in an honest-to-goodness triple-a game like Grand Theft Auto 5 not only will it play but it's very playable now as I said it's not sixty frames per second it's not perfect there's compromises but it's remarkably controllable if this were all I had if I had $99 to buy a basic APU with integrated graphics put it on maybe a 60 to 70 dollar motherboard and I wanted to play GTA 5 yep it'll do it male if you want better frame rate of course lower the detail and whatnot but honestly 1080p at high looks really nice and if you don't mind being under 60 frames per second this is really really good I have to say AMD has hit it out of the park with this this is so much better performance than any of the prior ap use it is miles and miles ahead of anything that intel has ever dreamed of and in the current market today I'm recording this in March of 2018 given the price of graphics cards if you're on a budget this is totally worth considering now just as a side note if you do have a little extra money and you're putting together a machine and you can afford the rise in 520 400g I do recommend it it is $70 more but it does have about 35% more graphics performance so it definitely gets more a frame rate but it also has an additional four threads it's four cores eight threads versus the four cores four threads of this it also runs at a higher clock speed on the CPU as well as a higher clock speed on the GPU so you are getting more for your money but I understand that people are on a tight budget you may not have the room for it fair enough now take a look at our real-time performance number now the graphics chip is completely 100% utilize that's right up at the top of course because it's integrated graphics they are in fact limited but the CPU is also mostly utilized not completely but mostly but our main system RAM usage is the inter one we're using about five 5.1 gigabytes of RAM and we're using about two gigabytes of the vo actually all of the vram basically that I've set aside now I have 16 gigs in here but I understand a lot of people are gonna put together a budget machine and say well I really don't have the money for 16 gigs I want to put in 8 I've actually tested this on 8 it won't be shown in this video because we're gonna do a proper video showing 8 versus 16 single channel versus multi channel but let me give you the answer right now if you're curious multi channel is dual channel Ram is absolutely required single channel is atrocious don't even think about it you need two memory modules that definitely hurt thankfully I had immunity on however 16 gigs is not required this is actually almost as fast on 8 it's not actually as fast it is ever so slightly slower but it's really really close but dual channels needed a single 8 gigabyte stick will not provide this level of performance not even close look for that video coming up on my channel soon but 8 gigs and 16 gigs are within very very close distance to each other it's fine now memory speed I do have ddr4 32 hundred megahertz Ram in here I understand that's good fast expensive random is 2400 slower yes it's not hugely slower but it is measurably slower when benchmarking currently there's maybe a 10 to 20 dollar price difference between 3200 and 2400 at the moment depending upon where you're at what you buy that's not a big difference for ten maybe fifteen dollars more would I buy the 3200 yes all day long you're looking at you know a noticeable difference in terms of benchmarking it's really not a huge difference but it's there and it depends upon what you're playing but honestly we're down to lunchtime we're down to a couple of Subway subs here so unless you already have Ram get the ddr4 3200 even if you're only getting 8 gigabytes don't get 2,400 unless you just find it crazy deals it's 30 or 40 dollars cheaper if you can afford 16 gigs it certainly helps but at the detail settings this $99 apu will run it really isn't required as I'm driving around like a crazy person in this game I would like to point something out I had no difficulty controlling this okay yes I just crashed there but that's because me you know I would have done that on a high-end system my point is the responsiveness the input lag the ability to control the game is really really good it's not perfect the whole thing is not perfect but it's a $99 apu with built-in graphics it installs on a 60 ish dollar motherboard I have to say I am thoroughly impressed I've now tested a lot of different games on this links to those in the description below if you want to see different games for 2018 this absolutely has got to be the deal of the year it certainly is the deal so far what I'm recording this may be something also come out but I am nothing but impressed by the performance for the money that you get if you have more spend more get more of course but if you don't this is completely a viable option to play triple-a games such as this and many others as you'll see down in that description in the video description below and moving on to the benchmark chart we actually averaged 36 frames per second during this entire run with a 1% low of 24 and 0.1% low of 18 if I had just shown you the benchmark chart you might look at this and go well gee that's probably not very playable yes it was you watch the footage I'm telling you it was playable for whatever the benchmark chart and whatever fraps says it ran at I really didn't have a problem playing it now the Rison 520 400 is smoother it is faster and it is better but it's also $70 more and if you simply are just on an extremely tight budget yes this will absolutely play GTA 5
