graphite Violet and white for the display you got a 6.4 inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1080 by 2340. now that's 403 for the PPI Patrol you got Gorilla Glass 5 on the front for protection you got a plastic frame with a plastic back the phone is IP67 dust and water resistant you got HDR 10 plus up to 1000 Niche brightness and a 120 hertz refresh rate now for the processor you got the exynos 1380 with the Molly g68 GPU now what does that mean in English mid-range specs bro mid-range specs now on the side note if you don't know nothing about the exynos chipset that would be equivalent to a Snapdragon 778 so it's not bad at all now you got six or eight gigs of RAM 128 or 256 gigs of storage and you do have a micro SD card slot for expandable memory now the phone is running Android 13 with Samsung one UI 5.1 skin on top you got a 5 000 milliamp battery that features 25 watt fast charge okay for the cameras on the rear you got a triple setup so you got a 50 megapixel wide angle 12 megapixel Ultra wide and a 5 megapixel macro sensor now you can shoot 4K video at 30 frames per second on the front you got a 32 megapixel wide angle lens and you can also shoot 4K video at 30 frames Wireless charge no IR Blaster no headphone jack that's just whack hashtag bars and no Samsung decks okay all right so let's get right into it first things first shout out to White Shoes back in the building calm down okay here we go Samsung Galaxy a54 5G now at 415 bucks this is a strong Contender for mid-range phone of the year now I know a lot of y'all hate the eggs and those processor but you got to remember exynos processors was really that bad because of Samsung TouchWiz it really wasn't all of the processor's fault it was Samsung TouchWiz that was making your phone laggy with that processor making it seem even worse now I've been using this phone for over a week and I'm here to tell y'all that the eggs in those processor is not bad at all this is exactly why I do the RDA test regular daily activities now in the real world you are not going to notice the difference with this processor okay it's going to feel like a Snapdragon 778 and I'm going to prove it to you all right so as far as the unboxing experience I'm trying to say this with a straight face nice clean white box yeah I know I like that giggity but of course no charger in the Box not 25 watt fast charging at least throw the charge in the Box for 400 bucks I mean Samsung come on I don't like that let's see what you get inside though however you do got uh Sim ejection tool okay and of course you get your charging cable now this is going to be USB type-c the USB type c okay shoes inspect that for quality and that's pretty much it this is gonna be your device Samsung Galaxy a54 5G all right so let's power this up see if we got any juice there it is let's look around real quick now the top micro SD card slot okay shout out to Samsung for bringing the micro SD cards back this is also going to be a SIM tray on one side you got your power button volume up and down on the bottom one of your speaker grilles USB type-c charging slot on the back triple camera setup okay LED flash on the front little Poncho camera this side is nice and clean now just for comparison sakes I chooses shoes going to town on this cable let me file that just for comparison's sake here's the Galaxy s23 plus now these phones look identical and that's one of the things that I like that Samsung did all of these phones look the same okay so this is the a54 x23 Plus here's an s23 and of course Galactus so all of the new Samsung phones they're getting rid of that camera hump and just going with the actual cameras on the back I like that all right so let me pause the video delete my browsing history then we'll walk through the OS Talk Amongst yourselves all right y'all so be back in now the first thing I want to do is talk about the build quality of this phone now if you put it side by side with a Galaxy s23 plus they look identical almost about the same size and with but you got to remember with the Galaxy s23 plus you got glass on the back aluminum frame and Wireless charge so this is going to be the mid-range version so you're losing some of the bells and whistles now just for argument's sake let's see the difference in the weight now a lot of people be roasting me because my scale is set to grams but it is what it is y'all know what it is all right so let's um let's start off with the a54 201. now for the s23 Plus 200. now this is kind of wild because you would think that phones with a plastic back and plastic frames would be lighter than the aluminum frame with the glass on the back but it's not the case okay this is still a big I wouldn't say heavy but it's sturdy foam okay now even though it does have the plastic on the sides in the back it doesn't feel cheap at all no fingerprints on this all right shoes move your tail no fingerprints on this y'all know I gotta say it feels so good in the hands ladies you know the procedures again there's your power button nice and low and of course just like all of the Samsung phones you're gonna have access to the Samsung store which is going to give you these cool live wallpapers and lock screens okay no different this is the same exact wallpapers and lock screens that you're gonna find on the big boys you buy this phone you're just cutting down on the bells and whistles now let me talk about something real quick as of right now I would say the best 400 phones would be this one the a54 we got the Vivo I the v27 pro you got the OnePlus Ace all right the two Ace and of course one phone from last year that still stands out in my opinion is the nothing phone now if I had to choose between all four of these phones personally I would go with the nothing phone because you're getting Wireless charge you're getting those cool lights on the back and it's pretty much a stock Android experience I love this phone but this is last year's phone now you could probably find a better phone from last year for 400 bucks maybe a Google pixel 6. okay maybe an s22 plus if you look around you can find a dope phone for 400 bucks but let's talk about phones that came out in 2023 all right so for 2023 out of these three heavy hidden mid-range phones how would I rank them in my opinion number one I would go with the Galaxy now keep in mind the OnePlus does have an IR blaster and it does have fight Protection keep in mind that the Vivo arguably has the best cameras but for all around usage and the all-around fun factor I would go with the Galaxy without a doubt now if you look around First You're Gonna notice you do have always on display okay let me open this up real quick so I can see it always on display in full Glory okay let this start up now watch this I do have my cool live wallpapers okay let's get a little wipe down so you can see this bang okay now this is the same exact wallpaper that you're gonna find on the big boy they look the same and they perform the same okay so let's power that off one more time here's your always on display okay you see I got the cat look at the s23 Plus same always on display now if you didn't know nothing about nothing you would think that these are probably the same phone but they're not okay one of these is a thousand bucks and one of these is 400 bucks Samsung did it right with this phone this is a great mid-range phone now if I had a son right now who was maybe about 10 years old this is the phone that I would get them okay now if you got a daughter of course you got to get an iPhone because you're gonna be crying but if it was my son I'll be like yo shut the up take this phone right here you're good to go because it looks exactly like a flagship phone it looks feels and performs exactly like a flagship phone and I got my Galaxy watch paired to this phone okay so these are always on display let me show you how one more time now Samsung of course you're gonna get all your cool notifications now there's a couple of different ways you can open up your phone you can swipe up put in your pattern in your PIN next you got an on-screen fingerprint sensor which works just as good as it does on the big boy galaxies so let's see if we get three in a row and let's try one with the screen off and of course you got face unlock I'm gonna see if I can do that from behind the camera now this one the long range facing like ah there it is the long range Face Unlock not the best but if I pull the phone a little bit closer then it pops right open there it is okay so all of the Biometrics work with no issues now of course it's the global ROM so you swipe over you got your Google home page and of course we got Steven Seagal uh we'll look at that later Bond now let's go through some of the basic toggles no Samsung decks okay that's one thing you got to keep in mind but you got link to Windows you got power saving mode now do not disturb PC file transfers Dolby Atmos you got a secure folder that's your thought protection and of course you got a few more so you got live caption extra dim NFC Shazam you can turn your uh contrast colors on and off let's go to settings all right so let's Breeze through this real quick okay so you do got NFC and payments okay you got Android auto and you got Quick Share let's see um nothing to see with the connected device is again Android auto I got my Galaxy watch paired up with no issues okay let's exit out of that let's see let's go to uh motion routines now this is kind of new with the one UI 5.1 set up your different modes this is pretty much like on your iPhone if you set up your do not disturb and you set up your different um little themes and routines same thing let's go to sound of vibrations dual stereo speakers on this one let's hit that volume okay classic Samsung ringtone got my little notifications on Deck let's see um let's see do we have a separate sound app Bingo okay this is another Samsung feature that I like if you got a Bluetooth speaker paired up to your phone you can have a separate app for sound so this way when you're having your little party you're having a little get together and you're playing music you don't got to be that one annoying host that keeps getting notifications interrupting the song you can have a separate sound for app a separate app for sound sound quality and effect of course you got Dolby Atmos you got an EQ now of course let me do my custom EQ now this may seem counter-intuitive but this is my my EQ that I rock with Samsung phones just get everything at maximum volume but if you don't want that you can have classic pop Jazz Rock go crazy okay Dolby apples for gaming that's on Deck two let's see anything else with the sounds nothing to see there all right so let's go to Notifications okay you can have the pop-up windows okay let's go to advance let's see anything new here okay floating bubble notifications okay and you can have the app icon numbers nothing really to see there let's go to display okay you got dark mode adaptive brightness motion smoothness 120 hertz refresh rate on a 400 phone that's excellent but that's pretty much the uh normal right now okay for your screen modes I'm gonna leave it on Vivid nice and cold okay Edge panels as you can see I got all my Edge panels set up exactly the same way that you would see on Galactus or Galactus 2.0 okay accidental touch protection nothing to really talk about there wallpapers and styles okay now look this is one thing that I love about Samsung phones even on the mid-range phones you can have these dope live wallpapers the same ones that you're gonna find on my heavy hidden phones look now this is Galactus 2.0 and this is the 400 phone and they run exactly the same how dope is that that's pretty dope that's really dope okay so I'm gonna see anything to see there nothing really home screen nothing to see that everything on Deck I think I just turned something off by accident let me see okay apps okay okay there it goes add icon badges leave those on rotate to landscape mode Let's see if that works now this is pretty dope too now a lot of phones I might it may seem like I'm making a big deal about this but go in your pocket right now pull out your iPhone I pull out your big boy iPhone 14 pro Max and try to rotate the home screen let me open mods up and show I'll show you exactly what happens when you try that try to rotate your iPhone home screen nothing happens so it seems like I'm making a big deal about small features like that it's because twelve hundred dollar phones don't have that now when I'm in my car I like to have my phone on the dock like this you don't always want to have your phone up like upright like this all right sometimes depending on where your event is at you might want to leave it like this so now you got that home screen rotation that's just a cool little feature to have okay exit out of that let's see security and privacy okay you got the full Security Suite you got your Biometrics Face Unlock fingerprint sensor you got your secure folder you got Samsung pass save all your fingerprints for all your um different apps you can log in using your fingerprint okay I like that let's see accounts and backup nothing to see that let's go to Advanced features okay let's see if anything new on Labs multi-window full screen split okay swipe for pop-up view I don't use those and swipe for split screen I don't use those either but there it is if you need them side key okay double press that's your World Star Hip-Hop button for your camera okay let's see you got video call effects game launcher dual messenger okay and of course if you're buying this from somebody older you can put it in Easy Mode okay so you got your digital well-being okay monitor your scumbag activities exit out of that let's see uh General management okay nothing to really see there apps and languages accessibility all right so if you're hearing or visually impaired all of the settings on Deck okay you got your software updates the tips and user manual and about phone let's go to about real quick let's see okay let's go to software information okay one UI 5.1 Android 13. and keep this in your mind when you're watching this video remember this is the exynos chipset the one that everybody hates but in the real world look out runs just as smooth as anything else now look I don't know how you do when you get your new phones but me the first thing I don't do okay let me tell you what I don't do I don't go to geekbench I don't go to all of these you know Little Nerd sites to check the processing speeds who cares who cares about that what I care about is when I click Instagram how fast does it take to pop open okay can I do split screen multitasking can I have a bunch of apps running at the same time can I play some games without my phone overheating these are the things that concern me and how does the camera work okay now in the real world this phone right here is an absolute Beast for 400 bucks I will say this about the build quality after holding both of them you will notice the difference all right this one the Galaxy s23 plus it has more of a premium feel to it but some of y'all don't like that some of y'all want that plastic kind of feel which in the long run is going to be more durable so if you're buying this phone for a little kid and they keep dropping the phone all over the place the plastic frame and the plastic back is going to be way more durable than aluminum and glass even though you're not going to save any any difference with the weight this one is actually a little heavier okay so that's all of the settings now let's check the web browsing speeds and I want to show you something we're doing we'll do them side by side remember this is a thousand dollars and 400 bucks let's check the web browsing speeds together go to apple.com opening web page okay now with the thousand dollar phone it was faster but is it that much faster it wasn't really that much faster this was pretty damn fast okay this is the full website and of course since this is the Samsung phone we could swipe over we got all of my toggles let's go to rectangle bong I could just keep this right here boom little screenshot and go ahead and share that or save it do what I do okay 120 hertz refresh rate now watch this you can tap on this we can open this up as a pop-up okay move it around and let's minimize it now we got the little internet ball so now I can go to Facebook so while I'm on Facebook okay hello my man got a suit okay will the defendant please rise okay that's a little stop and at any moment bang right back to this minimize this one let's go ahead and minimize this one too but now we got two now we'll do something else like Twitter now from Twitter as I'm scrolling through tweets I can do this Let's uh let's do a split screen so now we'll do uh let's do YouTube music on the bottom now look at this this is multitasking again I hate to go in my pocket you got a 1 000 iPhone that you can't do half of this stuff on that you're doing right now with a 400 phone this is kind of crazy so this is split screen multitasking and look at this now I got Twitter YouTube music and Facebook all open at the same time and this is the exynos processor okay so let's exit out of that and here's my Twitter exit out of that more apps closing both at the same time remember I make real world videos so in the real world the X in those chipset is going to run perfectly fine I know a lot of y'all including me we had this stigma about the exynos chip that as soon as you get extra no like now that phone is trash get that out of your mind okay part of that was TouchWiz TouchWiz was trash but now with Samsung one UI the battery on this phone has been fantastic I haven't seen any lag any hiccups and just for comparison's sake if I pull out the thousand dollar phone look everything is running exactly the same that's all the same widgets pull out the 400 phone same widgets just as smooth just as fast no issues with the web browsing speeds at all right so now let's test out the Dual stereo speakers and of course I got the official floor sound test by my homeboy Mark rubyay here we go baby yeah nice and Loud I'm gonna cover up the bottom this is just the top yeah okay you can feel the bass vibrating a little bit ladies and gentlemen mark rubier so to do stereo speakers sound great now here's the thing remember we were just talking about what's the best 400 phone the Vivo does not have dual stereo speakers okay so you can already cancel this one out of my run-ins for the best phone right now even though the camera is pretty damn good I would say the camera on the Galaxy is just as good and you're getting stereo speakers now with the OnePlus the camera is nowhere near as good as either one of these but you do have stereo speakers and an IR blaster and full thought protection just things that you want to think about but as far as the a54 excellent speakers all right so now let's take a look at this display remember 6.4 inch AMOLED panel with 1000 nits brightness here we go full screen a little bit of bezels not too much pretty good viewing angles but this screen is super bright and vibrant exactly what you would expect from a Samsung Galaxy phone look at this beautiful all right let's keep it moving all right so now let's try a little bit of gaming of course we got Asphalt 9 cute up here we go okay X and those chipset let's see how this works look at that look at that I'm trying to get as much motion as possible okay hold up I can't be losing them to get that ramp bro now watch The Landing watch The Landing there it is part of me sir look no lag when it's just that smooth um there it is actually power this off for a minute gaming on the Galaxy a54 no issues at all and I gotta say this one more time do not let the eggs in those chipsets scare you away I've been using this phone for over a week I can have either one of these in my pocket and it'll feel about it will definitely feel about the same that's what that's one of the things that I love about technology right now I got to go off on one of my tangents real quick you remember back in the days when you got to Galaxy S3 then you got to Galaxy X4 then the Galaxy S5 every year you felt the difference in the processor you felt less lag you felt more smoothness more fluidity those days is pretty much over okay now if somebody closes your eyes and this goes like this with a case on each one of these phones and says okay use this for a few minutes once you open it up and start using it you're not going to be like oh wait a minute I know for a fact this is the Galaxy 54. oh wait a minute I know for a fact this is the s23 plus it's really about features all right as far as performance wise now they're gonna feel about the same you're gonna notice the difference with no Wireless charge okay no Samsung decks you're going to notice some of those kind of bells and whistles but for performance gaming surfing the internet I trolling on your favorite social media accounts this is a beast okay I can't say enough good things about this phone this is a beast all right so now let's take a look at the camera now you do got your world star hip hop button press the power button twice mom opens up your camera just like that shoes let me give it a shot let me get a quick shot let's get one more mom just like that let's see how shoes looking okay real nice okay now the camera on this phone is surprisingly good let's go through some of the different shooting modes okay now what did I do with my camera hold up hold up when I did the carrier I gotta I gotta put I just you see this caught me off guard because I usually have a camera set up right here okay look at that yeah yeah what the what the it yeah I might have to edit that part out that was a maximum brain freeze right there I just got caught off guard because if you look at any one of my Galaxy phones the camera is always on the bottom I don't know how that happened I think I changed that when I was playing with the settings all right anyway let's go through the different shooting modes you got fun okay who don't like to have fun you got you got your fun shooting mode I like that with all your different faces and your AR stuff you got portrait mode all right let's see if I can get a I don't want to throw shoes too hard okay A little portrait shot right there you can adjust your bokeh effects okay look at the detail on this now I'm gonna show you some real pictures they do look nice again you can change the effect you got photos so from photos you got wide angle all the way up to 10 times Zoom okay not the most scummiest scumbag Zoom but it looks pretty good you got videos now from videos you can zoom up to 10 times and you can shoot 4K at 30 frames per second no 4K 60 frames per second so that's another thing that you lose in all right when you know about a big boy version no 4K 60 frames per second and no 8K videos but for 400 bucks who cares now you got more so you got Pro mode you got pro video Single take night shots food Panorama macro super slow motion regular slow motion and hyperlapse now one thing I do want to point out you don't have to put the camera in night mode at night time all right so if you're shooting some photos all you got to do is open up your regular camera if it's a dark shot it's automatically going to go to night mode I like that all right so take a look at these test pictures and videos for yourself thank you thank you thank you foreign thank you foreign so now let's do the RDA test regular daily activities now this is one of the most important RDA tests that I've done in a long time because a lot of y'all are on the fence about this phone and the only thing stopping you is the exynos chipset so let me show you how to X and those chipset works in the real world regular daily activities now keep in mind there's no Wireless charge so you can have your phone on the table like this but as you can see always on display so I got the time the date my battery percentage and all my notifications now just for fun let's see the charge animation one of the things that I look for these days okay not the most fancy I think Samsung needs to uh update these but it is what it is but you will have your cool Samsung lock screens okay so I'm going to look at and you wake up hit the fingerprint sensor bomb just like that first thing I gotta do let's check the weather okay mostly sunny beautiful now I got it in um I gotta I gotta change my my thermostat my temperature readings I got it in um Fahrenheit I needed what is it Celsius I need it in Fahrenheit you know y'all know what I'm trying to say though 14 degrees no it's probably around 60 right now all wrap this video up right now overall on a scale of one to ten okay on a scale of one to ten I'm gonna give the Samsung Galaxy a54 5G a major major go now personally I need Wireless charge okay I need Wireless charge so if I had only 400 bucks to spend I'd probably go out and get a nothing phone or I try to find a Google pixel 6 or maybe a Galaxy s22 plus I'd look around okay but some people don't want to buy used phones or some people don't want phones from last year so if I had to buy if I had 400 bucks and I'm trying to buy a phone from this year from 2023 and I want to feel like I'm buying a brand new phone and getting a whole new experience without a doubt okay without a doubt I would go with the Galaxy a54 easily over the trash cameras I see the cameras on the OnePlus pretty trash okay pretty trash no dual speakers come on there's nothing to really talk about with that this is a no-brainer for me now if you put a case on this phone you're not even going to notice that it doesn't have the glass and the aluminum it's gonna look exactly look now if you get this in white all right we get the same color if you maybe the graphite it looks exactly like the Galaxy s23 plus maybe Keen observers might notice that the flash is in different placements but just throw them on the table they look like brand new Samsung Galaxy phones double major goal I had to take off some points for no Wireless charge for no glass but you do have expandable memory okay a lot of people been wanting Samsung to come back with the micro SD card slots you got a fresh micro SD card slot I don't know why they didn't put a headphone jack on this one that might have put us over the top for some of y'all but this is dope if you got kids if you got your parents there's no reason on this planet right now for your father or your mom's or you know I'm saying to come out with some like this and if they're talking about oh yeah hold on let me let me put my information in and they pull at the Samsung Galaxy a54 5G now you can pick this one up online I'll throw the link up in the description the price on this one starts at 415 bucks all right so let's go through the specs real quick now this one comes in four different colors you got lime graphite Violet and white for the display you got a 6.4 inch AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1080 by 2340. now that's 403 for the PPI Patrol you got Gorilla Glass 5 on the front for protection you got a plastic frame with a plastic back the phone is IP67 dust and water resistant you got HDR 10 plus up to 1000 Niche brightness and a 120 hertz refresh rate now for the processor you got the exynos 1380 with the Molly g68 GPU now what does that mean in English mid-range specs bro mid-range specs now on the side note if you don't know nothing about the exynos chipset that would be equivalent to a Snapdragon 778 so it's not bad at all now you got six or eight gigs of RAM 128 or 256 gigs of storage and you do have a micro SD card slot for expandable memory now the phone is running Android 13 with Samsung one UI 5.1 skin on top you got a 5 000 milliamp battery that features 25 watt fast charge okay for the cameras on the rear you got a triple setup so you got a 50 megapixel wide angle 12 megapixel Ultra wide and a 5 megapixel macro sensor now you can shoot 4K video at 30 frames per second on the front you got a 32 megapixel wide angle lens and you can also shoot 4K video at 30 frames per second now you got dual stereo speakers Bluetooth Wi-Fi NFC always on display Face Unlock and an on-screen fingerprint sensor all right so all of that for 415 bucks what's missing there's no Wireless charge no IR Blaster no headphone jack that's just whack hashtag bars and no Samsung decks okay all right so let's get right into it first things first shout out to White Shoes back in the building calm down okay here we go Samsung Galaxy a54 5G now at 415 bucks this is a strong Contender for mid-range phone of the year now I know a lot of y'all hate the eggs and those processor but you got to remember exynos processors was really that bad because of Samsung TouchWiz it really wasn't all of the processor's fault it was Samsung TouchWiz that was making your phone laggy with that processor making it seem even worse now I've been using this phone for over a week and I'm here to tell y'all that the eggs in those processor is not bad at all this is exactly why I do the RDA test regular daily activities now in the real world you are not going to notice the difference with this processor okay it's going to feel like a Snapdragon 778 and I'm going to prove it to you all right so as far as the unboxing experience I'm trying to say this with a straight face nice clean white box yeah I know I like that giggity but of course no charger in the Box not 25 watt fast charging at least throw the charge in the Box for 400 bucks I mean Samsung come on I don't like that let's see what you get inside though however you do got uh Sim ejection tool okay and of course you get your charging cable now this is going to be USB type-c the USB type c okay shoes inspect that for quality and that's pretty much it this is gonna be your device Samsung Galaxy a54 5G all right so let's power this up see if we got any juice there it is let's look around real quick now the top micro SD card slot okay shout out to Samsung for bringing the micro SD cards back this is also going to be a SIM tray on one side you got your power button volume up and down on the bottom one of your speaker grilles USB type-c charging slot on the back triple camera setup okay LED flash on the front little Poncho camera this side is nice and clean now just for comparison sakes I chooses shoes going to town on this cable let me file that just for comparison's sake here's the Galaxy s23 plus now these phones look identical and that's one of the things that I like that Samsung did all of these phones look the same okay so this is the a54 x23 Plus here's an s23 and of course Galactus so all of the new Samsung phones they're getting rid of that camera hump and just going with the actual cameras on the back I like that all right so let me pause the video delete my browsing history then we'll walk through the OS Talk Amongst yourselves all right y'all so be back in now the first thing I want to do is talk about the build quality of this phone now if you put it side by side with a Galaxy s23 plus they look identical almost about the same size and with but you got to remember with the Galaxy s23 plus you got glass on the back aluminum frame and Wireless charge so this is going to be the mid-range version so you're losing some of the bells and whistles now just for argument's sake let's see the difference in the weight now a lot of people be roasting me because my scale is set to grams but it is what it is y'all know what it is all right so let's um let's start off with the a54 201. now for the s23 Plus 200. now this is kind of wild because you would think that phones with a plastic back and plastic frames would be lighter than the aluminum frame with the glass on the back but it's not the case okay this is still a big I wouldn't say heavy but it's sturdy foam okay now even though it does have the plastic on the sides in the back it doesn't feel cheap at all no fingerprints on this all right shoes move your tail no fingerprints on this y'all know I gotta say it feels so good in the hands ladies you know the procedures again there's your power button nice and low and of course just like all of the Samsung phones you're gonna have access to the Samsung store which is going to give you these cool live wallpapers and lock screens okay no different this is the same exact wallpapers and lock screens that you're gonna find on the big boys you buy this phone you're just cutting down on the bells and whistles now let me talk about something real quick as of right now I would say the best 400 phones would be this one the a54 we got the Vivo I the v27 pro you got the OnePlus Ace all right the two Ace and of course one phone from last year that still stands out in my opinion is the nothing phone now if I had to choose between all four of these phones personally I would go with the nothing phone because you're getting Wireless charge you're getting those cool lights on the back and it's pretty much a stock Android experience I love this phone but this is last year's phone now you could probably find a better phone from last year for 400 bucks maybe a Google pixel 6. okay maybe an s22 plus if you look around you can find a dope phone for 400 bucks but let's talk about phones that came out in 2023 all right so for 2023 out of these three heavy hidden mid-range phones how would I rank them in my opinion number one I would go with the Galaxy now keep in mind the OnePlus does have an IR blaster and it does have fight Protection keep in mind that the Vivo arguably has the best cameras but for all around usage and the all-around fun factor I would go with the Galaxy without a doubt now if you look around First You're Gonna notice you do have always on display okay let me open this up real quick so I can see it always on display in full Glory okay let this start up now watch this I do have my cool live wallpapers okay let's get a little wipe down so you can see this bang okay now this is the same exact wallpaper that you're gonna find on the big boy they look the same and they perform the same okay so let's power that off one more time here's your always on display okay you see I got the cat look at the s23 Plus same always on display now if you didn't know nothing about nothing you would think that these are probably the same phone but they're not okay one of these is a thousand bucks and one of these is 400 bucks Samsung did it right with this phone this is a great mid-range phone now if I had a son right now who was maybe about 10 years old this is the phone that I would get them okay now if you got a daughter of course you got to get an iPhone because you're gonna be crying but if it was my son I'll be like yo shut the up take this phone right here you're good to go because it looks exactly like a flagship phone it looks feels and performs exactly like a flagship phone and I got my Galaxy watch paired to this phone okay so these are always on display let me show you how one more time now Samsung of course you're gonna get all your cool notifications now there's a couple of different ways you can open up your phone you can swipe up put in your pattern in your PIN next you got an on-screen fingerprint sensor which works just as good as it does on the big boy galaxies so let's see if we get three in a row and let's try one with the screen off and of course you got face unlock I'm gonna see if I can do that from behind the camera now this one the long range facing like ah there it is the long range Face Unlock not the best but if I pull the phone a little bit closer then it pops right open there it is okay so all of the Biometrics work with no issues now of course it's the global ROM so you swipe over you got your Google home page and of course we got Steven Seagal uh we'll look at that later Bond now let's go through some of the basic toggles no Samsung decks okay that's one thing you got to keep in mind but you got link to Windows you got power saving mode now do not disturb PC file transfers Dolby Atmos you got a secure folder that's your thought protection and of course you got a few more so you got live caption extra dim NFC Shazam you can turn your uh contrast colors on and off let's go to settings all right so let's Breeze through this real quick okay so you do got NFC and payments okay you got Android auto and you got Quick Share let's see um nothing to see with the connected device is again Android auto I got my Galaxy watch paired up with no issues okay let's exit out of that let's see let's go to uh motion routines now this is kind of new with the one UI 5.1 set up your different modes this is pretty much like on your iPhone if you set up your do not disturb and you set up your different um little themes and routines same thing let's go to sound of vibrations dual stereo speakers on this one let's hit that volume okay classic Samsung ringtone got my little notifications on Deck let's see um let's see do we have a separate sound app Bingo okay this is another Samsung feature that I like if you got a Bluetooth speaker paired up to your phone you can have a separate app for sound so this way when you're having your little party you're having a little get together and you're playing music you don't got to be that one annoying host that keeps getting notifications interrupting the song you can have a separate sound for app a separate app for sound sound quality and effect of course you got Dolby Atmos you got an EQ now of course let me do my custom EQ now this may seem counter-intuitive but this is my my EQ that I rock with Samsung phones just get everything at maximum volume but if you don't want that you can have classic pop Jazz Rock go crazy okay Dolby apples for gaming that's on Deck two let's see anything else with the sounds nothing to see there all right so let's go to Notifications okay you can have the pop-up windows okay let's go to advance let's see anything new here okay floating bubble notifications okay and you can have the app icon numbers nothing really to see there let's go to display okay you got dark mode adaptive brightness motion smoothness 120 hertz refresh rate on a 400 phone that's excellent but that's pretty much the uh normal right now okay for your screen modes I'm gonna leave it on Vivid nice and cold okay Edge panels as you can see I got all my Edge panels set up exactly the same way that you would see on Galactus or Galactus 2.0 okay accidental touch protection nothing to really talk about there wallpapers and styles okay now look this is one thing that I love about Samsung phones even on the mid-range phones you can have these dope live wallpapers the same ones that you're gonna find on my heavy hidden phones look now this is Galactus 2.0 and this is the 400 phone and they run exactly the same how dope is that that's pretty dope that's really dope okay so I'm gonna see anything to see there nothing really home screen nothing to see that everything on Deck I think I just turned something off by accident let me see okay apps okay okay there it goes add icon badges leave those on rotate to landscape mode Let's see if that works now this is pretty dope too now a lot of phones I might it may seem like I'm making a big deal about this but go in your pocket right now pull out your iPhone I pull out your big boy iPhone 14 pro Max and try to rotate the home screen let me open mods up and show I'll show you exactly what happens when you try that try to rotate your iPhone home screen nothing happens so it seems like I'm making a big deal about small features like that it's because twelve hundred dollar phones don't have that now when I'm in my car I like to have my phone on the dock like this you don't always want to have your phone up like upright like this all right sometimes depending on where your event is at you might want to leave it like this so now you got that home screen rotation that's just a cool little feature to have okay exit out of that let's see security and privacy okay you got the full Security Suite you got your Biometrics Face Unlock fingerprint sensor you got your secure folder you got Samsung pass save all your fingerprints for all your um different apps you can log in using your fingerprint okay I like that let's see accounts and backup nothing to see that let's go to Advanced features okay let's see if anything new on Labs multi-window full screen split okay swipe for pop-up view I don't use those and swipe for split screen I don't use those either but there it is if you need them side key okay double press that's your World Star Hip-Hop button for your camera okay let's see you got video call effects game launcher dual messenger okay and of course if you're buying this from somebody older you can put it in Easy Mode okay so you got your digital well-being okay monitor your scumbag activities exit out of that let's see uh General management okay nothing to really see there apps and languages accessibility all right so if you're hearing or visually impaired all of the settings on Deck okay you got your software updates the tips and user manual and about phone let's go to about real quick let's see okay let's go to software information okay one UI 5.1 Android 13. and keep this in your mind when you're watching this video remember this is the exynos chipset the one that everybody hates but in the real world look out runs just as smooth as anything else now look I don't know how you do when you get your new phones but me the first thing I don't do okay let me tell you what I don't do I don't go to geekbench I don't go to all of these you know Little Nerd sites to check the processing speeds who cares who cares about that what I care about is when I click Instagram how fast does it take to pop open okay can I do split screen multitasking can I have a bunch of apps running at the same time can I play some games without my phone overheating these are the things that concern me and how does the camera work okay now in the real world this phone right here is an absolute Beast for 400 bucks I will say this about the build quality after holding both of them you will notice the difference all right this one the Galaxy s23 plus it has more of a premium feel to it but some of y'all don't like that some of y'all want that plastic kind of feel which in the long run is going to be more durable so if you're buying this phone for a little kid and they keep dropping the phone all over the place the plastic frame and the plastic back is going to be way more durable than aluminum and glass even though you're not going to save any any difference with the weight this one is actually a little heavier okay so that's all of the settings now let's check the web browsing speeds and I want to show you something we're doing we'll do them side by side remember this is a thousand dollars and 400 bucks let's check the web browsing speeds together go to apple.com opening web page okay now with the thousand dollar phone it was faster but is it that much faster it wasn't really that much faster this was pretty damn fast okay this is the full website and of course since this is the Samsung phone we could swipe over we got all of my toggles let's go to rectangle bong I could just keep this right here boom little screenshot and go ahead and share that or save it do what I do okay 120 hertz refresh rate now watch this you can tap on this we can open this up as a pop-up okay move it around and let's minimize it now we got the little internet ball so now I can go to Facebook so while I'm on Facebook okay hello my man got a suit okay will the defendant please rise okay that's a little stop and at any moment bang right back to this minimize this one let's go ahead and minimize this one too but now we got two now we'll do something else like Twitter now from Twitter as I'm scrolling through tweets I can do this Let's uh let's do a split screen so now we'll do uh let's do YouTube music on the bottom now look at this this is multitasking again I hate to go in my pocket you got a 1 000 iPhone that you can't do half of this stuff on that you're doing right now with a 400 phone this is kind of crazy so this is split screen multitasking and look at this now I got Twitter YouTube music and Facebook all open at the same time and this is the exynos processor okay so let's exit out of that and here's my Twitter exit out of that more apps closing both at the same time remember I make real world videos so in the real world the X in those chipset is going to run perfectly fine I know a lot of y'all including me we had this stigma about the exynos chip that as soon as you get extra no like now that phone is trash get that out of your mind okay part of that was TouchWiz TouchWiz was trash but now with Samsung one UI the battery on this phone has been fantastic I haven't seen any lag any hiccups and just for comparison's sake if I pull out the thousand dollar phone look everything is running exactly the same that's all the same widgets pull out the 400 phone same widgets just as smooth just as fast no issues with the web browsing speeds at all right so now let's test out the Dual stereo speakers and of course I got the official floor sound test by my homeboy Mark rubyay here we go baby yeah nice and Loud I'm gonna cover up the bottom this is just the top yeah okay you can feel the bass vibrating a little bit ladies and gentlemen mark rubier so to do stereo speakers sound great now here's the thing remember we were just talking about what's the best 400 phone the Vivo does not have dual stereo speakers okay so you can already cancel this one out of my run-ins for the best phone right now even though the camera is pretty damn good I would say the camera on the Galaxy is just as good and you're getting stereo speakers now with the OnePlus the camera is nowhere near as good as either one of these but you do have stereo speakers and an IR blaster and full thought protection just things that you want to think about but as far as the a54 excellent speakers all right so now let's take a look at this display remember 6.4 inch AMOLED panel with 1000 nits brightness here we go full screen a little bit of bezels not too much pretty good viewing angles but this screen is super bright and vibrant exactly what you would expect from a Samsung Galaxy phone look at this beautiful all right let's keep it moving all right so now let's try a little bit of gaming of course we got Asphalt 9 cute up here we go okay X and those chipset let's see how this works look at that look at that I'm trying to get as much motion as possible okay hold up once you open it up and start using it you're not going to be like oh wait a minute I know for a fact this is the Galaxy 54. oh wait a minute I know for a fact this is the s23 plus it's really about features all right as far as performance wise now they're gonna feel about the same you're gonna notice the difference with no Wireless charge okay no Samsung decks you're going to notice some of those kind of bells and whistles but for performance gaming surfing the internet I trolling on your favorite social media accounts this is a beast okay I can't say enough good things about this phone this is a beast all right so now let's take a look at the camera now you do got your world star hip hop button press the power button twice mom opens up your camera just like that shoes let me give it different shooting modes okay now what did I do with my camera hold up hold up when I did the carrier I gotta I gotta put I just you see this caught me off guard because I usually have a camera set up if I can get a I don't want to throw shoes too hard okay A little portrait shot right there you can adjust your bokeh effects okay look at the detail on this now I'm gonna show you some real pictures they do look nice again you can change the effect you got photos so from photos you got wide angle all the way up to 10 times Zoom okay not the most scummiest scumbag Zoom but it looks pretty good you got videos now from videos you can zoom up to 10 times and you can shoot 4K at 30 frames per second no 4K 60 frames per second so that's another thing that you lose in all right when you know about a big boy version no 4K 60 frames per second and no 8K videos but for 400 bucks who cares now you got more so you got Pro mode you got pro video Single take night shots food Panorama macro super slow motion regular slow motion and hyperlapse now one thing I do want to point out you don't have to put the camera in night mode at night time all right so if you're shooting some photos all you got to do is open up your regular camera if it's a dark shot it's automatically going to go to night mode I like that all right so take a look at these test pictures and videos for yourself thank you thank you thank you foreign thank you foreign so now let's do the RDA test regular daily activities now this is one of the most important RDA tests that I've done in a long time because a lot of y'all are on the fence about this phone and the only thing stopping you is the exynos chipset so let me show you how to X and those chipset works in the real world regular daily activities now keep in mind now personally I need Wireless charge okay I need Wireless charge so if I had only 400 bucks to spend I'd probably go out and get a nothing phone or I try to find a Google pixel 6 or maybe a Galaxy s22 plus I'd look around okay but some people don't want to buy used phones or some people don't want phones from last year so if I had to buy if I had 400 bucks and I'm trying to buy a phone from this year from 2023 and I want to feel like I'm buying a brand new phone and getting a whole new experience without a doubt okay without a doubt I would go with the Galaxy a54 easily over the trash cameras I see the cameras on the OnePlus pretty trash okay pretty trash no dual speakers come on there's nothing to really talk about with that this is a no-brainer for me now if you put a case on this phone you're not even going to notice that it doesn't have the glass and the aluminum it's gonna look exactly look now if you get this in white all right we get the same color if you maybe the graphite it looks exactly like the Galaxy s23 plus maybe Keen observers might notice that the flash is in different placements but just throw them on the table they look like brand new Samsung Galaxy
