Review - RichardSolo 1800 for iPhone [Smart Backup Battery]

The Richard Solo 1800 Smart Backup Battery: A Comprehensive Review

I am excited to share with you my experience with the Richard Solo 1800 smart backup battery, designed specifically for charging iPhone, iPod touch, and other iPod models. As I show you all the iPods that are supported by this device, it's clear that basically all of them are now compatible. The iPhone 4 is not pictured on here yet because it wasn't available yet when I first started using it, but I don't see any reason why it would not support it. All the iPhones are there as pictured, along with iPod Nano and Classic models, as well as other generations of iPods.

The included accessories are a welcome bonus: an AC wall charger, a retractable USB charging cable, and a mini USB to dock connector cable. I should mention that this battery really impressed me. While I don't have an exact charging time to share with you, I can estimate that it usually takes about an hour to fully charge my device.

The design of the battery is straightforward, with the mini USB port located on the front, along with a built-in flashlight and a small LED light indicating when the device is charging. The back has a power switch that allows you to turn the battery off to prevent excessive drain on your iPhone or iPod touch. On the front, there's an actual USB connector for iPhone connectivity.

To charge your iPhone using this battery, simply plug in the mini USB cable and connect it to your device. It may take some time for the battery to fully charge, but I've found that the charging process is quite efficient. When I first started using the battery, I had almost a full battery because it was still charging overnight.

However, one feature of this battery that has surprised me is its inclusion of a built-in laser. This may seem like an unnecessary feature at first glance, but it's actually become quite useful for certain situations. For example, when Smokey got outside and I had to go find him, having the battery with me came in handy because I could quickly locate him using the laser light.

The retractable cable has also proven to be a convenient feature. It can get tangled at times, but it's always fun to see how easily it retracts back into its casing when you need it again. If you're looking for a way to charge your iPhone or other iPod devices on-the-go, this is definitely a product worth considering.

In terms of pricing, the Richard Solo 1800 smart backup battery sells for around $70 on Richards solo.com. While I think that's a bit pricey, I believe it's well worth the investment if you factor in how much time and hassle you'll save by always having a charged device at your disposal.
