**Getting Started with Channels DVR**
If we click that, you'll see the IP address of the channels DVR, so just click, click that and then you click login, you put in your username and password and now here is the interface, the backend if you will for channels DVR. So, here's where you go in and configure the DVR to your liking. You want to set up a path to store all of your recordings, so I'm going to do so right here and enable DVR and then you set your DVR lineup. So, basically put in your zip code and this will help pull in all of your guide data and now you can set up a default padding to add padding before and after your recordings, you can change resolution etc etc.
**Configuring the DVR**
So, if you go to guide, you can see some of the guide data here and this is the backend interface. You can actually go in here and watch episodes directly from this interface but, of course, you want to use the pretty channels interface that's the whole point of this thing right? So, we're going to head back over to the channels app on our Apple TV and I'll show you how it works.
**Using the Channels App**
So, the first thing we want to do is go ahead and quit the channels app on our Apple TV to pull in make sure we pull in all the new stuff so we'll just slide up there we go and we'll launch the app again and there you go. You see at the top there you have DVR already, really that is all you have to do folks and we're ready to go.
**DVR Functionality**
So, let me show you how the DVR functionality works. I'm going to open up uh episode of Judge Mathis and I'm going to swipe down and you see that record button there. All you do is highlight that and click the record button and now you have these options. You can record "record with options" or create a pass so, "record with options" allows you to set an end time padding if you wish to do to do that and then create a pass allows you to record all the episodes or configure it to your liking to record multiple judge Mathis episodes if that's what you like to watch all right.
**Recording Multiple Shows at Once**
So, I chose record now so when I move my cursor you can see Judge Mattys is red indicating it is being recorded right right now pretty awesome. So, let's record something else because this HD home run device that I have it has two tuners inside so I can actually record two shows simultaneously which is awesome and because my antenna needs to be placed in a better spot I have to choose my channels for this demonstration based on what's going to work for this video.
**Recording Two Shows at the Same Time**
So, I chose PBS so I wanted to show you again that I can record two episodes at the same time from two different channels all right. Charlie Rose is in red because that is recording now so I have Charlie Rose and judge Mathis recording at the same time so that is a good demonstration you can see under recordings I have both of those shows right there.
**Stopping and Managing Recordings**
So, if I click on one of them I can watch it I can Mark as watched I can delete it and if I go over to the DVR I can see what's in progress right now so if I click on that I can actually stop that recording or change some options for that recording so I can end it at a different time if I wish to do that all right. I can also search so I can say something like The Price is Right all right so now I can search for the price is right pull that up and look I can view all the different times that show is going to air.
**Creating Series Passes**
So, I'm going to do that right now because who doesn't love the pric is right all right so I created a series pass Price is Right if I go back to DVR you can see Price is Right is ready locked and loaded ready to record first thing Monday all right. So, you can also go over to the your passes section here I'm going to go back here you see the your passes.
**Managing Your Passes**
So, if I swipe over to that I can manage the priority of all my passes so if something conflicts I can choose which one has priority over the other pretty cool feature there all right. So, let's go back over to our recordings here and we're going to stop this recording stop this recording.
**Watching Recorded Shows**
And we're going to watch one of the recordings so judge Mattis click on that and I can watch just like that so this is being streamed directly from my sonology Nas through channels
