HOW I STYLE MY SHORT HAIR _ THE SORRY GIRLS

My Hair Styling Routine: A Simple and Effective Guide

Hi guys, my name is Becky and I'm here from The Story Girls to answer one of your most frequently asked questions: how do I style my hair? Specifically, since I chopped it short, many of you want to know how to achieve a similar look. Don't worry, I've got you covered! Styling my hair is actually quite simple, and I'm excited to share my secrets with you.

First of all, it's essential to understand that everyone's hair is different, and what works for me might not work for you. My hair is quite thick and frizzy, which can be a challenge, but I've learned to work with it over the years. The biggest thing I do is take a shower at night, rather than in the morning. This allows my hair to kind of "sleep" on it, and when I wake up in the morning, it looks just as good as if I had washed it fresh out of the shower.

Now that we've got our foundation established, let's talk about how I style my hair. For the majority of my look, I'm using a curling wand with a 1-inch barrel. I take random pieces of hair and wrap them around the barrel, leaving the end out to create a more relaxed, beachy vibe. To set it in place, I hold for a couple of seconds before gently pulling it out. This gives my curls a bit of looseness that I love.

One thing I want to emphasize is that curling your hair can be unpredictable, and sometimes it just doesn't turn out as expected. That's why I like to repeat the process on different sections of my hair, so that over time, my curls don't all become one giant, uniform mess. And if you're doing this at home, remember to do the curl in the opposite direction of what you normally would, to create a more textured look.

Now, let's talk about finishing touches. For most days, I like to leave my hair just as it is, but other times I might add some extra flair with a hair straightener. I use the straightener to flatten out my roots, which can be a bit too voluminous for my liking. But this also helps to create a more polished look that's perfect for everyday wear. And when I'm adding these finishing touches, I make sure to only do so on the top section of my hair – no curling or straightening the ends, as this can kill all the natural texture we've worked hard to achieve.

Finally, there's one final trick up my sleeve: coconut oil! I use regular, cold-pressed coconut oil (don't know why it's called "cold-pressed" when it's not even cold – but that's a whole other story!). I take a small amount and warm it in my hands to make it more pliable, then apply it to the ends of my hair. This helps to add moisture and shine, while also taming any flyaways or frizz.

One important thing to note is that coconut oil shouldn't be applied too close to your roots – if you do this, it can lead to greasiness and a general feeling of being weighed down. But for the rest of my hair, it's been a game-changer in terms of keeping it healthy and looking its best.

And there you have it, guys! That's my hair styling routine in a nutshell – simple, effective, and virtually zero products required. Remember, everyone's hair is different, so don't be discouraged if this doesn't work for you right away. Experiment with different techniques and find what works best for your unique locks. Thanks for watching, and I'll see you in the next video!

lot of you guys want to know how to style short hair I'm going to show you exactly what I do and honestly it's the simplest thing ever like almost no steps like almost no products but you guys want to know anyways so I will tell you so keep in mind that everyone's hair is different and my hair is quite thick and quite frizzy and I have just learned to deal with it um having this hair my whole life so the biggest thing that I do I guess is I am a night showerer I take a shower at night and then I let it kind of sit and when I wake up in the morning it looks just like this if I try and let it air dry during the day it becomes a frizzy mess so this is the first step is to kind of sleep on it and then let it wake up kind of like this so the first thing I going to do is section it off because I have a lot of hair I kind of have to do this in layers so for the majority of this style I'm going to be using a curling wand and this is a 1 in and then how I do this is I just take random pieces like I'm no hair stylist here and point the curly one down and I just wrap chunks around it and I kind of leave the end out hold it for a couple of seconds and then pull it out and then what you can do is kind of like pull it out with your hand so it kind of sets a little bit looser than like a tight curl and then I pretty much repeat this process for most of my hair it's quite simple guys so hold it for a couple seconds leaving the end out and then you can kind of pull it as it sets so it becomes looser as it sets and then every once in a while a good thing to do is to do the curl the opposite direction that you're doing the other ones so that over time they don't all just kind of meld into one giant curl you want them to be very py so I'm just going to repeat this on pretty much all my hair and I'll come back when and I'm almost done and then for the front pieces I pretty much do the same thing that I was doing the whole time um which is just to curl them but make sure you're curling these ones away from your face okay so this is looking pretty good and some days I just leave it like this but most of the time I like to do some finishing touches with a hair straightener so what I do with the hair straighteners I go in and I kind of flatten out my roots which is the opposite of what most people would want they want volume but I naturally have like a ton of volume so I like to kind of deal with that and then I go in and I kind of straighten the ends a little too to give it more of that like lived in look you'll see so yeah I'm just kind of flattening where my part is so it looks a little nicer make sure you're just doing the top so you don't like kill any of that curl we just put in and like I said I also do the ends a little bit looking pretty good and then the very last step I do is I just take some regular coconut oil make sure it's the um cold pressed kind I don't know why actually people just said that's better for hair and I just use a little bit take a little bit out and you can kind of warm it in your hands so it becomes more of an oil and then I just put this on my ends or anywhere where my hair is feeling really dry and it just makes it look really healthy and nice but don't do it too close to your roots cuz then you got get greasy fast girl so that's it that's how I do my hair even you guys ask me this is pretty much what I do every time it's super simple super easy like almost zero products also just keep in mind guys this is what I do for my hair this is not going to be like the miracle technique for every hair type ever I have a lot of thick wavy hair and this is just what works for me hopefully this helped you guys and taught you what you guys wanted to know thanks so much for checking out this video and we'll see you next
