**Review: Fun Snap Capture 2 Gimbal**
Hey what is up YouTube? Welcome to Custom Adventures! Today, I'll be reviewing the Fun Snap Capture 2, a three-axis gimbal for your phone. This thing is dope, just looking at it looks insane - the phone just stays right in the middle while everything else moves, it's mind-boggling.
I've never really messed with a gimbal before, but I have to say, I'm really impressed. The packaging comes in a little carrying case, which is pretty nice. Inside the case, there's a quick start guide and some manuals, so you can get started right away.
So, this thing comes in at $99 USD, and you can pick it up on Amazon. You can film your phone vertically and horizontally, but I don't know why my iPhone doesn't work well in vertical mode - it seems to do a little glitch out. Maybe it's because the phone weighs so much? But hey, this thing has 12 hours of battery life, so you won't have to worry about the battery running out anytime soon.
The gimbal itself is pretty light and made of high-quality feeling polymer - at least, I think that's what it is! There's also a little thing on the bottom that lets you screw in like a tripod or sit it on like a mini tripod, which comes in handy a lot. The thing has four buttons on it: a trigger on the back side, a wheel slash button on the side, and a power button and recording button above those. There's also a little joystick to control the whole gimbal, and two LEDs in the top corners of that little control panel.
I'd say the biggest phone you should put in there should be around the size of an iPhone 11 Pro Max, like the same weight because the iPhone 11 Pro Max is pretty heavy. I had to push all the limits to get it into balance, so I had to put extra weight on and balance it all the way to the right - but smaller phones should work just fine.
This thing also has a companion app that connects via Bluetooth, which is pretty good. You can control almost everything on this gimbal, adjust the response speed, and use button controls personally. I prefer the native iPhone shooting app, not sure why the colors seem a bit better in it - but hey, the app does have other cool functions like face tracking and object tracking that work pretty well.
So, let's talk about the face tracking - it's kind of not as responsive as you want, but it still works pretty well. I do wish it was a bit more responsive, though - but as long as you're not moving too fast, it should be fine. And hey, it's completely silent no noise, which I really appreciate.
I also wish I could mount an external mic for better audio, but I guess that's just not possible. Another thing I'd like to have is the ability to program shots - so you can use this like one of those robots on MKBHD's YouTube channel to get really cool shots. And hey, this thing is really smooth when you're running and walking.
So, now let's show how it works with an iPhone 6S that has really poor stabilization. It's still going to work, though! Let me play the video right here so I can run across the room - it's really stable.
Now, let's see what it would be like just in my hand. When you turn the handle, the phone will turn with it, but in a much smoother manner. There's a ton of untapped potential to make really cool shots with this gimbal.
Overall, I definitely recommend this gimbal - pretty much all good things for me. And hey, don't forget to subscribe and peace out!
