**Buying a Ferrari: Understanding the Warranty Options**
Let's go over to the dealership and make sure I get this warranty down right if you wonder where I buy my cars wide world of cars and I'm going to find out about this warranty. A great resource for buying cars is Wide World of Cars, and it's exactly what its name suggests - a vast selection of high-quality vehicles from around the world.
As I sit here in the dealership, rubbing suede all over my face (Alcantara), I'm reminded of the luxurious features that come with owning a Ferrari. My next car will definitely feature these seats, which are a favorite among many Ferrari enthusiasts. Nobody's unhappy with these seats - they're just fantastic! The line is impeccable, and while not as adjustable as some other models, it suits me perfectly because I don't adjust my seat often.
I've got a guy here at the dealership who's my go-to for all things Ferrari. He's the best, and his expertise has been invaluable in helping me navigate the complex world of Ferrari ownership. Everybody has their favorite mechanic or service center, but for me, this is my guy. I trust him implicitly, and that's what matters most.
Now, let's talk about the warranty situation. My car is still under warranty, which means it's protected against major repairs and maintenance costs for the next 15 years. This is an impressive feat, considering the high-performance nature of Ferraris. The warranty covers a range of components, including the engine, transmission, and wheel bearings. However, there are some caveats to consider.
For example, if I have a V8-powered Ferrari, my warranty costs will be slightly lower than if I had a V12 model. This is because V8 engines require less frequent inspections to ensure they're running smoothly. The cost of these inspections is currently around $5,000 per year. If you have a V12 engine, however, the inspection and warranty extension cost is higher - around $6,700. It's essential to crunch the numbers and consider your specific situation before deciding whether or not to opt for the warranty.
One thing that's clear is that Ferrari warranties are designed to provide maximum protection against costly repairs. If something catastrophic were to happen, like a major engine failure or oil leak, the warranty would cover those costs. This is a significant advantage over other luxury car manufacturers, where maintenance and repair costs can add up quickly.
While I'm here at the dealership, I'm also learning more about the specifics of my own car's maintenance needs. My salesman has been explaining the importance of regular inspections to ensure everything runs smoothly. It's reassuring to know that my Ferrari is in good hands with this dealership - they're committed to providing top-notch service and ensuring my vehicle remains in pristine condition.
Now, I'm also waiting for some news about a car that's currently up for sale - a beautiful red 48 Spider. If you're interested in purchasing one of these sleek vehicles, be sure to keep an eye on the market. Prices can fluctuate quickly, but with the right guidance from your salesperson, you'll get the best deal possible.
Before I leave, I wanted to mention that there was recently a car that I put in an offer for - a 4 GT (I won't say which specific model, as it's still up for grabs!). Unfortunately, my offer was declined by the seller, but they came back with a revised price. It's always a tricky game of cat and mouse when buying a luxury car, but that's what makes it exciting.
As I prepare to leave, I want to remind our viewers that owning a Ferrari comes with certain responsibilities - like maintaining the vehicle regularly and staying up-to-date on any necessary repairs. With the right knowledge and guidance, however, owning a Ferrari can be an incredibly rewarding experience. Whether you're a seasoned car enthusiast or just starting your collection, there's never been a better time to invest in these magnificent machines.
If you have any questions about Ferrari warranties or would like more information on how to purchase one, feel free to ask! With our expertise and guidance, you'll be well-equipped to navigate the world of Ferrari ownership with confidence.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enit's like uh it's like a failure if you live anywhere in this area and you end up having to fill up in New York it's like like like ah cuz New York gas prices are like 70 cents higher than New Jersey but anyway uh here with my 488 spider and it's just crossed 500 miles I got like 520 Mi on it and now the damn thing broke not bad but it broke the uh parking sensors failed so now it's like ah parking sensors don't work actually look out when you park but it's got 500 miles on it so now I have a 500 M car that's broken and that points out something that's very interesting cuz when you buy exotic cars especially like Ferraris Lamborghinis McLaren there's a significant dip as the car is like 2 and 1/2 3 years old because they know the warranty is running out when the warranty runs out that could be a $2,500 fix it could be a whatever it could be it's not cheap and that's one of the things that Mclaren has that they're worth virtually nothing uh when they're out of warranty cuz they're really expensive to repair so are Ferraris and Lamborghinis but McLaren is disproportionately expensive compared to the purchase price this car with 3 years old is still $240,000 if you spend $4 or $5,000 to maintain it not a big deal now Ferrari I'm going to be cheap here I'm I'm not going to waste money so I'm going to put 10 gallons in um um Ferrari is now offering and I'm going to get it right you know what I'm actually we're right down the road from the dealership and going to go ask them about it but they're offering 15 years worth of warranty now and which on the older Ferraris I'd say that was a smart play 15 years worth of warranty now let's jump in the car I'll finish telling you about it so see I got parking sensor failure warning possible obstacles y right there and that check engine light will go away when it Cycles but but that could be I mean it's under warranty so it's not a big deal but the 15year warranty could be a good thing could be a bad thing the 15-year warranty on uh on older cars very good thing because older cars were more predictably uh likely to break now the newer cars the 458 is the 458 and I was just telling Jimbo about this on the way over here that's the car he's like yeah most people are Lamborghini guys not Ferrari guys I'm like you know what I sort of Swang swung in the opposite direction now and that started when the 458 came out I drove it and I was W this really great and it was reliable and that's what I was like you know what I really do like Ferraris now it's got performance it's got looks it's got reliability it hits all the marks and the older cars now with the warranty they're going to charge you I think it's like $4,800 a year and I'm going to go confirm this at the dealership but they charge like $4,800 a year for warranty now that makes a lot of sense on a 355 not even really a 360 but 348 355 tester Roa take it all day long guaranteed 4,800 bucks they've always offered maybe up to seven years they do different warranty protection levels and they'll cover the major components but they're still not going to cover like bumper sensors and stuff like that that's that's not covered under the power Cube warranty so there's always a way that they wouldn't do it unless it made sense now that they've made the cars reliable enough selling warranties at $5,000 a year effectively is just printing money because most people aren't driving them and most of the time the major components aren't breaking and when the major components aren't breaking that's money in the bank so now say you got your like pie of Mind warranty you're a guy that you have a budget you can't afford to eat that 30 or $40,000 potential catastrophic failure then you're like you know what I'll just get the warranty for $5,000 a year and at least I'm comfortable knowing that I've essentially capped off my maintenance expenses or my my potential repair expense to $5,000 now when you add up the amount of years before you have a catastrophic failure if you even do smart money would probably not buy the warranty because you're not going to need it on the newer cars now 15 years you have to go back 2017 15 years that put you back back into like the 550 marinell which I would say that wouldn't be a terrible car to get the warranty on but you've only got a couple years left on that on that chassis 430s up in the air if if it's a higher mileage car and they let you go with the mileage four higher mileage 430 with the warranty not a bad play if you're running a rental operation absolutely get that warranty but they're not going to cover everything as if it were a uh an indiv individual using the car so a lot of the wear things that you're going to go through probably wouldn't be warranted anyway so there you go you have now this extended warranty which I'll find out more about in a second and you've got this dip in price because cars out of warranty get more expensive to repair and it's all comparative no it it may cost similar money to repair a McLaren as it does a Ferrari but the McLaren you're buying in at a 100 like if you go buy a Gallardo an 04 Gallardo for $85,000 then you have to do $10,000 worth of work on it that sucks but if you buy a $200,000 C and AG $10,000 worth the work it doesn't sting as bad I don't know why it's just one of those things it's how much is it going to cost my watch needs a service $1,500 to service it and everyone's like just go buy a new watch no it's like like it makes sense to spend that but I'm just going to wait until it stops working completely before I do that but it's all relative and that's something you got to keep in mind so let's go over to the dealership and make sure I get this warranty down right if you wonder where I buy my cars wide world of cars and I'm going to find out about this warranty and I love these seats my next Ferrari I want to have these seats when I say these seats nobody's unhappy with these seats I just like the line I like the but they're not as adjustable as the other ones but I'm okay with that because I don't adjust very I don't grow and I don't adjust he's got somebody so that's my guy everybody he's got a guy it's my guy I'll just sit here and wait all right so I'm at the Ferrari dealership just rubbing suede all over my face Alcantara I'm sorry wall of steering wheels behind me I've got the skinny on the warranty situation it was 10 years now 12 years now it's up to 15 years it's different if you have a V8 or a V12 a V8 is going to cost you about 5gs a year cuz you got to get it inspected too to have the warranty extension you can do up to 2 years factory warranty extension if you have a car that's under warranty if it's out of warranty you can bring it in get it inspected and get a Powertrain warranty covers most of the wheel bearings uh transmission engine all the big major stuff that's about 5gs with the inspection if you have a V12 it's more expensive $6,700 so you have to now run the numbers and some people you know what if if all I have to worry about with my car is some some little things going wrong but the the maximum exposure I have if something catastrophic goes wrong 6700 bucks it may be worth it an oil leak anything like that all covered under warranty that's probably the most common thing I would think would go wrong uh on a V12 1250 15-year-old Ferrari but the fact that it goes back 15 years is actually pretty impressive so if you have a Ferrari or uh you would like to buy a Ferrari know that the warranty option is out there if you'd like to predict your maintenance costs I'm going to get the uh sensor parking sensor fixed on my car still up for sale if somebody wants it and it's question like hey Rob I thought that thing is going to sell if it's selling over a sticker why isn't it gone yet the market on the cars are between and this is my rationale Market on the car is between 375 and 400 and that's where I'm asking is sort of like the top of the market on the cars currently and if you think about it there's guys out there with 330 window stickers I got a very heavy window sticker not not as hey heavy as it could be but it is heavy at 383 so there's guys selling for 40 over and I'm like well if they selling for 40 over why am I going to sell for MSRP I'm holding out to try to get a couple of bucks worst case scenario I sit on it for a while drive it like take take it out for a drive today can drive it whenever uh I drive it for a while and it costs me whatever nothing it's probably going to sell for sticker in a year and a half so stay tuned uh you'll see what happens it's up for sale now if you're looking for a 48 spider I got a nice red tan one for you if not I keep it I drive it all good things and there's plenty of 458s out there for me to shop for and get when this car is gone and there was a 4 GT I'm not going to say it but there was a 4 GT I put a offer in on but they declined so they got got to come to grips with reality and understand that my offer was good thank you guys for watching if you want to know anything about Ferrari warranties or why they warranty cars for 15 years now you know and you know also know how much it costs and if you think about it just think about owning a Ferrari like yeah it's so cool no depreciation if even if you own a car for like five years imagine you're guaranteeing $25,000 in maintenance cost or preventative maintenance cost at that $225,000 Mark so five grand a year some people it's worth it some people it's not probably not with my money I don't think I'd go with the warranty I just I don't think so but uh guys catch you next time thank you for watching the channel if you're new to the channel where have you been what's up with that stick stick around go watch like at the end of this it's going to be a whole bunch more videos to watch the rest of you guys good seeing again see you next time ohit's like uh it's like a failure if you live anywhere in this area and you end up having to fill up in New York it's like like like ah cuz New York gas prices are like 70 cents higher than New Jersey but anyway uh here
