I should have waited...
**The Disappointment of Constantly Changing Technology**
God they're taking out what now then it goes through a bunch of iterations because the information changes every second probably because apple or any of these companies actually hear the leaks and see how people are reacting to them and are like we need to change the formula people don't like this or good people don't like this we're going to do it anyway all of a sudden it's what you weren't expecting and you put all this emotional weight and value into speculating and figuring all this stuff out when ultimately you had no stake in it you have no power in it and now you have to live with this disappointment. I feel like there's a lot of mismanaging of energy when it comes to Tech in general perhaps maybe that's another episode of tech gripes at some point in the future.
**The Frustration of Constantly Buying New Technology**
Subscribe to denki for more content because the product that you buy on day one might not be the same one two three years down the line ask any pixel owner. I don't think you can blame Tech enthusiasts for wanting to pick up fresh new products but I also feel like there's this urge to buy the next best thing because maybe you feel like you're less of a tech Enthusiast when you miss out. This is one I'm no stranger to because I am part of the problem. Is this idea that YouTubers and Instagram influencers and people on Twitter talk about the newest stuff all the time and it gets you hype it gets you excited and when it comes from people you idolize or look up to it understandably makes you want a piece of that lifestyle. I've had the luxury of indulging in a lot of tech over the years because of my job but in a normal scenario where this wasn't something that is my livelihood I definitely be more careful in spending the money that I have especially since I want to keep enjoying tech for years and years to come.
**The Allure of New Technology**
I want it to be sustainable let me be the first to admit that oftentimes it's not worth dishing out fifteen hundred dollars on a new phone or graphics card every single year even if you have the money for it especially when you consider the marginal quality of life Improvement that can bring. Maybe you want to show off to your friends maybe you want to post on Twitter or Instagram to get that clout maybe you want to live that MKBHD life but let me tell you that life isn't as glamorous as it might seem on the surface because the job might involve technology but it's hardly the entire picture. That affects how I feel about it overall.
**A New Perspective from a Content Creator**
From the influencer perspective from the other side of the screen that you're watching it can be surprisingly hard to be amped up about new tech without getting too far into content creator discourse my perspective on Tech absolutely changed when the goal is to make as much content as possible now I'm not looking for any excuses I took this job with the understanding that this was probably gonna happen let me put it another way you see I love Formula One I watch it every single time there's a race I watch YouTube videos about it to keep up as the season progresses it pretty much just runs through my veins at this point but I guarantee you if I decided to work for a news Outlet or for one of the teams and had to do stuff day in and day out and gave me the stresses of a normal job I probably wouldn't engage in it in the way that I was as a fan as much I might not be the best example but it's up to you guys to Tech enthusiasts responsibly.
**The Importance of Enjoying Technology on Your Own Terms**
and that's what I started my note-taking with and that's a fact that you don't have to buy Tech to love it it might sound superficial but enjoy Tech in a way that's best for you not for anyone else because personally I think that's one of the best ways to keep up the excitement and enthusiasm for this thing that we ultimately love. But let me know what you think in the comments below.
**The Creator's Final Thoughts**

WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enif you're a tech Enthusiast with any semblance of disposable income the temptation to indulge in the latest and greatest Tech has to offer is strong but in my opinion early adoption sucks and here's why there are loads of practical reasons why you wouldn't want to be an early adopter of something first and foremost a lot of products are released well before they're ready benefit of the doubt no company wants to make a bad product but also it is equally difficult for a large company with hierarchies of people to make a very good product putting all of that burden of beta testing on these poor souls that put in pre-order money to hopefully get the next best thing let's take the RTX 4090 those cards are certainly powerful Shame about those connectors though they're kind of leaving your PC Up in Smoke what about when folding phones first came out when people were peeling off the screens because they thought it was the protected plastic early adopters are still important to the market because they help weed some of the problems out but I don't think Samsung needs consumers to beta test when they already hire qas and pay them to do that for us nothing's worse than having to troubleshoot and deal with the fact that you just dropped money on something that you're not happy with now I can tell you as someone that tries a lot of tech when it comes out that's the worst part of the job whenever you pre-order a brand new phone or next-gen game console whatever it is the companies already have your guaranteed business and the unfortunate truth nowadays is that people shell out because of brand recognition or other times people will spend because of hype these reasons undermine what a purchase decision should actually be based on Merit the new Xbox and Playstation came out about two or three years ago at this point and there's barely enough games out there for me to say with a straight face that they're worth getting even in 2022. this is not a stab at how both of those consoles perform they're great systems but I don't think the sense of urgency to own these things helped you in the long run one what good is the best gaming Hardware around if it's just there sitting collecting dust especially for the Xbox series X you can go to a Best Buy or a Target and buy it at retail with virtually no difference in how many games you would have played for it but there's stuff to talk about with the PS5 as well even though it's still hard to get now vrr 1440p support and adding another internal SSD are things that you are only able to do like a year into the product's lifetime arguably they should have been out there from day one but again Sony sold all their consoles they made their money all thanks to early adopters and scalpers I can't stress enough that this gives companies all the incentive to let off the gas but again you don't necessarily have to Shell out right away for something at launch a lot of times you'll reap the benefits of extra time but I also think that Tech enthusiasts and early adopters are also masochists so early adopting culture thrives a lot on weeks leaks are very interesting when they hit our feeds
