iPhone 5 Revealed!

The iPhone 5: What to Expect as Leaks Flood In

What's up everyone, John Ringer from TechnoBuffalo here, and I've got some exciting news for you all. The iPhone 5 is coming, and it's leaking faster than a baby's diaper. Yes, that's right, the phrase "faster than a baby's diaper" might sound gross, but it's actually a pretty apt description of how quickly these leaks are happening. Stick around, let me tell you what you can expect from this upcoming device.

It all started a few months ago when we saw some boring parts reveals that included headphone jacks and camera modules. At the time, we were calling it the iPhone 5, but now we're pretty sure that's not going to be the case. Chances are Apple will call it the new iPhone, just like they did with the iPad. The folks at 9to5 Mac have broken out some big boys today, revealing back casings from what's going to be the next generation iPhone or presumably the next generation iPhone.

These back casings are made of metal, and you can choose between two different colors: black or white. There might also be two additional colors available, so it's cool to see what those might be. The design is definitely a different look than what we've seen in the past, but it does reveal some key features about the upcoming device. You'll notice that the phone has a bigger screen size, presumably going to be 4 inches. The camera is still in the same spot, but the headphone jack is now on the bottom, similar to where it is on the iPod Touch.

The smaller dock connector might seem like a minor change, but it's actually significant. With less space to play with, Apple will need to beef up the speaker, and that's exactly what they're doing. The speakers look to be much larger in the next generation iPhone, which could make for a bigger and better sound experience. We don't know much about what the camera module is going to be or what features might be included yet, but it's all lining up nicely for a presumed announcement at WWDC coming up in June 11th.

The tech world has widely assumed that Apple will wait until the August to October time frame to unleash a new iPhone on the world. However, seeing all these leaks this close to production kind of lends some credence to the rumors that WWDC might not just be about updates to the MacBook Pro and iMac line – it could also be about the new iPhone as well. And who knows, maybe we'll even get iOS 6 with some new features like widgets or information at a glance.

So, what do you guys think of these new designs? Are they real or not real yet? Take this all with a grain of salt, but I'd love to know your thoughts. Do you like the look? Do you not like the look? I'm happy that just looks different coming from the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S – the internals were beefed up, but the phone itself looked the same. I'm happy to have something that's going to look a little bit different, with a bigger screen and hopefully some new features.

I'd love to hear what you guys have to say. What do you think about the design? Should Apple go for a more radical change or stick with what they know and love? Let me know in the comments, and I'll catch you all in the next video.
