LG Nexus 5 Review after long term usage

**The Nexus 5: A Fast and Feature-Packed Android Phone**

As I got to know my Nexus 5, I was impressed by its performance and features. One of the things that struck me about this device is its battery life. While it's not the longest-lasting battery in the market, it does get the job done. However, if you forget to charge it one day, it can die the next, so the battery life is strictly average in my opinion. This means that I have to charge it every day, which can be a hassle.

Despite the average battery life, the Nexus 5 has some notable features that make it stand out from other Android phones. One of these features is its camera. The rear-facing camera has an 8-megapixel sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), which is a technology that helps to reduce camera shake and blur. At first glance, the camera may seem like it's not as impressive as some other Android phones, such as the Galaxy S5 or S4, which have 13-megapixel cameras. However, I've found that the Nexus 5's camera is actually pretty decent, especially in low-light conditions. The OIS technology helps to capture sharper images, and the camera's performance has improved significantly since its initial launch.

Another feature of the Nexus 5 that I'm particularly fond of is its video recording capabilities. The phone can record full HD videos at 1080p, which is impressive for a device in this category. I've shot several videos on my YouTube channel using the Nexus 5, and they've turned out beautifully. The camera's ability to capture smooth and stable footage makes it perfect for vlogging or recording video content.

The Nexus 5 also supports wireless charging, which is a convenient feature that adds to its overall user experience. I can simply place the phone on a wireless charging pad, and it will start charging without any hassle. This feature is particularly useful when you're in a hurry or don't have access to a power outlet.

One area where the Nexus 5 excels is in its gaming performance. The phone's Adreno 330 GPU and Snapdragon 800 chipset make it capable of handling demanding games with ease. I've played several games on my Nexus 5, including some heavy-duty titles, and it never failed to impress me. However, there are two notable drawbacks to the device: the back can get hot during extended gaming sessions, which can be a bit annoying, and the phone can warm up slightly when browsing or using apps on 3G networks.

In terms of storage, the Nexus 5 has a limited capacity option - either 16 GB or 32 GB. Unfortunately, there is no microSD card slot available, so you'll have to choose between these two options. However, it's worth noting that the phone does support USB OTG (On-The-Go) technology, which allows you to connect external storage devices using a third-party app like Nexus Media Manager.

Overall, I'm very happy with my Nexus 5. Its performance, features, and camera capabilities make it an excellent choice for anyone looking for a fast and feature-packed Android phone. While it's not perfect, the device's pros outweigh its cons, especially when you consider its price-to-performance ratio. If you're due for an upgrade or just can't wait for the latest Android updates, the Nexus 5 is definitely worth considering.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi there this is Ranjit and in this video I'll be doing kind of a delayed review for this uh Nexus 5 I know yes I'm pretty late and uh so this review will be kind of very different uh I have this phone now for almost 6 months so I'll share my experience how it was using this Nexus 5 for about 6 months I did not use this Nexus 5 exclusively for 6 months for about 2 months I used it as my primary device but later on as my second secondary device and overall I'm very impressed still with the Nexus 5 and let's talk about it now if you talk about the performance of this Nexus 5 still uh it's a pretty good phone it's sped by a Snapdragon 800 chipset which is a quadcore processor with 2 GB of RAM and internal storage you get in two varieties 32 GB or 16 the one I purchased uh this is officially I purchased from the Google Play store in India is the 16GB variant but you also get the 32GB variant and in terms of performance I would say it is one of the best Android phones have seen in terms of performance there's no issues of lagginess or anything like that everything just loads very fluently on this phone so in terms of performance you shouldn't be worried about this uh Nexus 5 also as it's a Nexus device I already got the Android version 4.4.3 KitKat on this device and it's been working fine uh one thing uh I have seen that after this 4.4.3 is that the battery life has improved a little bit I would say about 10% Improvement but now coming to the battery life uh the battery is sealed inside it's a 2,300 mAh battery and I would say this is one of the biggest gripes I have with this Nexus 5 the battery life is kind of just average-ish I would say if you're a light user it should suffice you fine but if you're kind of a heavy user or even to a mid-heavy user then uh I would say you might have issues with this Nexus 5 I consider myself as a medium user not a very heavy user I generally do not play games and I would say when I was using this Nexus 5 it used to last me anywhere from around 16 to 18 hours the thing is that I have to charge this device every day if I forget it to charge uh one day the next day it would be dead so the battery life is strictly average in my opinion and now coming to the camera it has 8 megap rear facing camera with Optical image stabilization a lot has been said about this camera actually the camera has been improved a lot initially when the Nexus 5 was launched uh it had some software issues and slow focusing and stuff like that but Google has pushed out updates and I would say the camera is pretty decent yes you can't compare it with the Galaxy S5 or the S4 13 megapix camera but I would say the camera is pretty decent and even in low lighting conditions I would say it does better than even the Galaxy S4 because of its Optical image stabilization but one place where I feel that the camera is very good is in the video Department the quality of videos that you get at full HD that's 1080p with this Nexus 5 is amazing and actually have shot quite a few videos on my YouTube channel with this one I use this as my secondary camera and date none of you guys have complained about the video quality so that talks a lot about the video quality that you can get from this Nexus file it's a very decent camera I would say but in terms of video quality I feel it's the videos that it shoots is actually pretty good another place that I like this Nexis f is that out of the box it does support wireless charging so you can just put it on a wireless G charger and it just charges and actually when I was actively using my Nexus 5 I have that wireless charger on my desk and I was using it like like that so I just love the fact that it has built-in support for wireless G charging now as we were talking about the battery life one good thing is that I noticed that Nexus 5 actually charges pretty quickly and within an hour I would say it can charge about 75% so if you are in the office or Etc and you can plug it 10 in the evening for half an hour 45 minutes then I would say the battery life would be okay because the charging is pretty quick now coming to uh the general performance as I told you it was very good also in gaming if you're a big time gamer thanks to that adreno 330 GPU and the Snapdragon 800 chipset it performed brilliantly in gaming it could play any game I threw on it and had never had issues like lagginess or anything like that but one place I do not like this Nexus 5 is that if you do gaming for more than about 15 minutes and this is kind of heavy gaming the back actually becomes pretty hot so that was a little bit annoying and also when I use this phone over 3G outdoors I do notice that if you just casually even do a little bit of browsing about for 8 9 minutes it tends to get a bit warm compared to many other phones so this is slightly uh con I would say but it was getting warm and I think so that was also draining the battery a little bit this is what I just noticed about Nexus 5 now coming to storage here if you are require a lot of storage you will be disappointed it's a Nexus device thus we do not have any micro SD card slot on this so the storage is what you get so you have to decide what you're getting the 16 GB or the 32 GB uh but one thing is that this Nexus 5 does usb OTG but the thing is that out of the box if you just plug in uh pen drive with the US uh usb OTG cable it just does not Mount you have to use a thirdparty app like Nexus media manager so yes usb OTG is there but you have to use the third party app for that so overall what do I think about this Nexus 5 I would say still this Nexus 5 is one of the fastest Android phones that you can get if you consider the price to Performance ratio of this device and also the fact is that it's a Nexus device so if you are a person who just cannot wait for the latest Android updates then this phone is for you but again as I told you it's not a perfect phone the two cons that I have with this device is the battery life and the slight heating that I experience with this device but apart from that overall still this Nexus 5 is a very good Android phone I've also actually used some couple of third party apps Etc to enhance the experience on this Nexus 5 and I have also made couple of other videos on this NEX XS 5 so make sure that you check them out also and if you aren't subscribed to my YouTube channel hit the Subscribe button thank you this is ranit and I hope to see you in my next videohi there this is Ranjit and in this video I'll
