Google Glass Camera_Video Test

My Experience with Google Glass: A Hands-On Review

As I held Google Glass in my hand, I couldn't help but feel a sense of skepticism. It's a phone on your face, after all. How does it hold up compared to our standard smartphone cameras? Today, I decided to take it out for a spin and show you the results.

I started by taking Google Glass to my local park and neighborhood. I was pleased to find that it does a pretty good job of capturing colors within its environment – the grass, nature, trees, and so on. However, I have to say that it's not quite up to par with the standard smartphone cameras we're used to seeing today, which often come equipped with 1080p video and more impressive finite detail capabilities.

I think this is a pretty good job for what it is, though. The main reason you might not be hearing any audio in the video is that Google Glass has a somewhat sensitive microphone, which picks up on the wind and essentially drains out all the audio in there. This can be viewed as a negating factor to Google Glass, but I think it's really just a beta kind of technology that we need to grow accustomed to.

One activity I decided to showcase in this video is using a three-legged "power swerve" generated via your hips. To generate this power, you simply have to move left to right, and you can get up to some pretty insane speeds – 15 miles an hour, to be exact. I consider that pretty good for a recreation device like this, but keep in mind that it's a bit shaky, and there's no built-in stabilization.

Despite the lack of stabilization, I think Google Glass does capture nature pretty well. Next up, I went to a place called Extreme Trampoline, which has become a phenomenon with activities today. The goal was to see how well Google Glass captures images while jumping in the air – simple enough! I'd just dunk a foam ball in a net and capture it. However, when I tried doing flips on trampolines during filming, my trusty Google Glass kept falling off.

To truly finalize out this test, I took some pictures up in a lake house surrounded by real nature. This was the best way to showcase what Google Glass can do, if you ask me. You can definitely see that there's a bit of noise when looking far away, but that's to be expected with a 5-megapixel camera. The camera does hold its own well, though, especially for close-up shots.

I will say that I enjoyed cooking some chicken on the grill and capturing it with Google Glass. It really shows how well it captures color and can even do so at distances – just look at those beautiful images! In conclusion, I'd like to thank you guys for watching this video. If you enjoyed this video, go ahead and give me a thumbs-up button to let me know that you're hungry for more Google Glass content. Thanks again, and I'll see you in my next video!
