The All-New Porsche Cayenne: A Game-Changer in Sports Utility Vehicles
The all-new Porsche Cayenne is a car that's really supposed to put the sport into sports utility vehicles. This third-generation Cayenne gets design influences from both the 911 and Panamera, making it a unique blend of style and functionality. The question on everyone's mind is: what do you think about the looks? Click on the top right-hand corner of the screen to say if you prefer the look at the first came the second pane - this new one or absolutely not. This way, we can get your opinions and hear your thoughts.
The Normal KN
The normal KN gets a three-liter V6 turbo petrol engine with 340 horsepower, making it a powerful and capable vehicle on the road. The sporty-er S model, on the other hand, gets a twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 petrol with 440 horsepower. Hybrid and diesel versions will join the range as a later date, offering even more options for drivers.
Inside the New KN
The new Cayenne looks pleasure than ever, and features the same twelve-point-three-inch touchscreen infotainment system as the latest Panamera. However, I couldn't help thinking that the dashboard design looks rather like the new Volkswagen Polo - despite being bigger and better equipped than its predecessor. The all-aluminium body means that it's as much as 65 kilograms lighter than before.
The Instrument Panel
Through to Porsche tradition, the instrument panel on the Cayenne is dominated by a large central analog rev counter. This is flanked by a pair of 7-inch HD screens to show other driving navigation and media information. The increased power and less weight mean that the normal KN can get from zero to sixty miles an hour in just six point two seconds, which is one point four seconds quicker than before.
The Sporty-Er KNs
Meanwhile, the sporty-er KNs now give the same sprint in just five point two seconds - which is a full point three seconds quicker than the old KNs. This helps to make it corner more like a sports car than a big heavy SUV. The Cayenne is available with rear-wheel steering, an active or wheel drive system that sends power to the wheel which has the most grip but better corner exiting traction.
The Cayenne's Dimensions
The Cayenne's built has grown by one hundred liters to a whopping seven hundred seventy litres - which is comfortably more than you get in the BMW X5 or Mercedes GLA. The car is available with LED headlights, front or rear parking sensors, and Wi-Fi hotspot and autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection as standard. Power sizes range from nineteen to twenty-one inches, and enormous brake discs complete the package.
