GoPro Hero 7 Durability Test! What will BREAK a GoPro!

**Testing the Durability of the GoPro Hero 7 White: A Brutal Analysis**

We decided to put the GoPro Hero 7 White through a series of extreme tests to see just how durable it really is. Our first test was to ride over it with a mountain bike five times, even though the ground was soft and we expected some damage to occur. To our surprise, the LCD display cracked after one ride, but unfortunately, it stopped recording due to being hit by the frame of the GoPro instead of just the screen. While this wasn't ideal, we still managed to get some footage out of it, albeit with a broken LCD.

We then decided to continue testing the GoPro's durability, this time by dropping it from the top of a ladder five times. We were hoping that one of these drops would be enough to cause catastrophic failure, but fortunately, the camera continued to turn on and record some decent footage after each drop. However, we did notice that the non-replaceable screen was indeed damaged beyond repair, with glass shards scattered all over it.

Our next test was a bit more extreme - we dropped the GoPro from even greater heights using brick-like objects underneath to ensure maximum damage. This time, however, the camera still refused to give up, and we were able to get some footage out of it after each drop. However, this did highlight our main concern about the GoPro's durability: the lack of replaceable covers on the camera body. Unlike previous models like the Hero 6 or Hero 7 Black, the Hero 7 White is not compatible with cheaper adapters or replacement parts.

**The Failure Points of the GoPro Hero 7 White**

In our tests, we found that the LCD screen was indeed one of the weak points of the camera, but it's also apparent that the front legs are another major concern. We would have expected these to be the first area to fail if the camera is subjected to enough stress, but fortunately, they held up quite well.

The most surprising part of our tests, however, was how much abuse we were able to inflict on the camera before it finally gave up. The fact that the LCD screen cracked after just one drop onto a soft surface, and that the camera continued to record footage despite being battered around, raises some interesting questions about the camera's design.

**Conclusion**

In conclusion, our tests have shown us that while the GoPro Hero 7 White is certainly capable of withstanding some rough handling, it's not invincible. The lack of replaceable covers on the camera body is a major concern, and we would advise users to be extremely careful when dropping or subjecting their cameras to physical stress.

We're also left wondering what other factors could contribute to the camera's failure - perhaps issues with its software or firmware that make it more prone to certain types of damage. Only further testing can truly reveal the extent of the GoPro Hero 7 White's durability, but for now, we can say that while it's a great camera, it's not entirely indestructible.

**What Do You Want to See Next?**

We're always looking for new ways to test our cameras and push them to their limits. If you have any ideas or suggestions for future tests, be sure to let us know in the comments below. We'd love to hear your thoughts and take on a challenge that will really put our cameras through their paces.

And if you're still interested in winning a broken GoPro Hero 7 White with its box and all the accessories that came with it, check out our Instagram post and leave a comment with any ideas or suggestions for what we could test next. The winner will be announced at the end of our live stream on Saturday at 8 p.m. Eastern time.

**The Final Verdict**

In the end, our tests have shown us that while the GoPro Hero 7 White is certainly a great camera, its durability leaves something to be desired. While it can withstand some rough handling, the lack of replaceable covers on the camera body makes it more prone to certain types of damage.

We hope that future cameras from GoPro will address these concerns and make them even more durable than before. For now, however, we're left with a broken GoPro that's still technically functional - but hardly ideal for capturing high-quality footage.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enso I've been touting the durability of the GoPro line of cameras for about the last two years since I started this YouTube channel so what we're gonna do today is we're gonna find out what does it take to break a GoPro let's find out what's up everyone I never did that if I can figure it out you can figure it out so as you saw on my Monday video I don't like this GoPro Hero white very much I've been meaning for a while now just to test the durability of a GoPro so since I don't like this one I like it very little and I'm actually kind of mad at it no better time than the present to see what it will actually take to break this so as we mentioned on Monday there's a few things that really limit the durability of this thing the lens protection it's not there because there's no lens protection cover it has the SD card next to the charging ports we'll see so what we're gonna do we're gonna do some drop tests we're gonna do some Drowning test we're gonna do some some extreme stuff we're gonna try some basic stuff to see if it'll break or cause it to corrupt footage first then we're gonna try some extreme stuff just to see if we can break it so let's get to it so first up we're gonna do some drop test so I mountain biked out here you can see my bike right there so we're gonna simulate that you were riding you drop your GoPro let's see what happens so let's turn it on we've got some GoPros down here recording footage so let's let's do it we're gonna do it five times and 5 now we are in the woods this is pretty soft ground I don't imagine it would take too much damage to begin with and as you can see the footage is perfectly fine there's no corrupted memory so far so now we're going to do the Drowned test you can see that creek that's where it's going so we're gonna put it in the creek three times two minutes each and we're gonna see what happens so we've done the drop now let's try the Drowned and here we go okay first two minutes looking still pretty good so let's go for the second two minutes okay second two minutes is up looking a little wet and it's freezing but it is still recording so now let's do the last and final two minutes underwater let's see if it breaks that is the third two minutes and the GoPro is still recording nothing corrupted these waterproof bodies are pretty good okay so we've done two tests we've done the drop test in the drown test still going strong now in all fairness I didn't expect either of those tests to actually break the GoPro GoPros are pretty durable so now we're going to get a little more in genius so let's do the mountain bike test next let's get to it okay so we ran over it with the mountain bike five times and even though the ground was pretty soft we still managed to crack the back LCD display so what happened was when the mountain bike ran over it it stopped recording and hit the record button and stopped the recording so does that count as corrupted footage I don't know that I would count that as creb display but we were able to break it it's very soft ground here as you saw it's not very tough so the back LCD pretty you know pretty weak and could you accidentally like ride over it like it falls off your bike and your buddy rides over it that happens all the time so be careful about riding over your GoPro so I am impressed that it hasn't lost any footage yet I mean press we haven't like broken it to the point of non-use we've kind of done everything we can do out here so we're gonna go back to the house and we're see if we can't actually break it like you know some more okay see you there okay now we're back from the woods and we're gonna start being a little more unfair to the GoPro Hero 7 white so we've got a lot harder surfaces here we've already broke the screen by you know riding over it with a mountain bike so let's see if we can't break it the rest of the way and see like what is the failure point of the durability on a GoPro body let's do it that did not that did not sound good definitely it definitely does not like that as much so I do think the LCD screen is the weak point of the whole system the front legs though I thought it would break first and that's really the biggest thing that concerns me for video quality is this on a regular GoPro you can replace it on this you can't okay next let's drop it from the top of the ladder everybody asked me to drop this from like a drone or a cliff or something I don't have any drones a cliff so the ladders the next best thing and we will also do this five times hope that one might have been like the end we definitely cracked the non-replaceable screen on that one okay so that point dropping it off a ladder was where we got the footage corrupted for the first time it's still working so we'll do we'll finish out the five drops and just see what happens because it is unusable at this point because the lens is broken and you can't replace the lens housing so we found the point in which we can get some catastrophic failure on the GoPro you got to drop it off a ladder onto some like brick type things oh hey everybody future dad really quick so this thing still turns on and I think you can still record some pretty decent footage you might have to you know move some of the broken glass out of the way so what we're gonna do is see still turns on still good to go touch screen still works so we're gonna do is we're gonna give this broken GoPro way so if you'd like to win you know the broken GoPro Hero seven white with its box and all the stuff that came with it go ahead and I'm gonna leave a picture right here on my Instagram just go ahead and comment on that picture what would you like to see me you know stress test or break or have fun with next leave a comment on that picture then at the live stream on Saturday at 8 p.m. Eastern we will pick a winner so this very tough and poorly treated GoPro can be yours okay back to the video it didn't break during the normal use out in the woods we were able to crack the LCD screen by riding over with a mountain bike and now I mean it is still recording right now by the way you can see that it's still recording but we've lost but we've lost all the glass in the lens we've cracked your rear LCD screen to like uselessness so you're not gonna actually be able to use any of the footage that comes out of this thing so I will give this one to GoPro and say hey you guys build like the most durable action cameras now my big problem the hero 7 white as we talked about on Monday is there's no replaceable covers so now that this is broken it's done whereas on like a hero six hero seven black you can replace the lens cover with like a cheaper adapter now this thing is done done son so this is what it takes to break a GoPro Hero seven white what are some things that you'd like to find out what else it takes to break let me know in the comments below and we'll we'll continue this this was actually a lot of fun we might we might keep this up is like a thing we do in the future thanks for watchingso I've been touting the durability of the GoPro line of cameras for about the last two
