I recently had the opportunity to try out the Beats Solo 4S, and I have to say that these headphones are definitely an upgrade from their predecessors. But do they live up to the hype? let's grab a phone and pair these up now for Android phones you do have one touch pairing once you pair them up you want to download the Beats app this going to show you a picture of your headphones your battery percentage your connection status you can rename your Beats you got your product features and you can customize your buttons you can also optimize your Beats product and register them now on iOS devices you got the same OneTouch pairing but you don't need an app once you go to your settings you're going to see beat solo 4 Once you click on that you're going to see a picture of your headphones the battery percentage you can change the name customize your buttons and you can control your spatial audio now you can also just swipe down long press on volume and when you're playing music let's go ahead and play some music you can control your spatial audio from right here so we can turn it off you got fixed or head tracking all right so now let's talk about the look The fit and the feel now one thing about the solos they're a lot lighter than the studios Okay a lot lighter and a lot smaller so if you're going to be working out in the gym and you don't want big heavy headphones this is the way to go again super stretchy very comfortable I'm going to put these on my ears okay let me show you how they look okay my ear is completely covered up now I'm shaking my head around these are lightweight I can easily see myself working out in the gym with these on all right so now let's do a little sound test all right so I got a classic song queued up we got Usher badgirl actually pretty dope and I'm glad that they keeping this going when you turn your head all when I turned my head sideways it sounds like the music moved with me and then when I turned the other way the music moved again but it sounds loud and clear nice and vibrant you got a lot of bass matter of fact okay let's I put these on one more time let's try we got to take it over to YouTube music of better performance all spacial audio now I want to try a few more things things and then um I'll give you my verdict let's do a little bit more testing all right so I got to do another sound test for all of my Android Warriors out there I Got the Beat Solo fors paired up to the Galaxy s24 Ultra all right now we're going to try another Usher song we got caught up here's Max volume let's try it now I got to be honest they sound a little louder hold up let me listen I'm the a brother who been doing it my way getting my way for years in my career and every lover in and out my life I H and love left and te without a kiss until I met this girl find the tables around took me by surprise never thought I be the one breaking down I can't forgive it out I'm so caught up got me feeling it CAU up hold up did y'all hear this I'm so C up all right I can safely say this if you got an iPhone or an Android phone these are going to sound terrific I will say they sound slightly louder slightly louder with the Android phone but I'll do a little bit more camera testing but yeah if you got an Android phone definitely you could buy these all right so let's try the reconnection test how long do these take to reconnect your phone after you power them off all right so let's go ahead and hit the power button okay you see they disconnected there's the music let's hit the power button okay one Mississippi two Mississippi you see they already connected just like that now I popped up on both of my iPhones back here all right so I would say two Mississippi that's excellent all right so now let's check the physical touch controls and on the side note these are fully customizable and the thing that I like about them a physical button if you're up in the gym sweating you don't want to be swiping and floing around you got a nice button so one press for playing pause double press that'll skip to the next song triple press go to the previous track you got volume up volume down you can answer an end phone calls and if you put the headphones on hey Siri what's the weather for tomorrow just like that all of the touch controls work perfectly all right so now let's check the call do you see they connected I'm going to go ahead and power these off you see they're fully disconnected okay now I'm going to grab the USB type-c cable let's go and plug these in plug them into the iPhone and if you notice a little light came on right there let's hit play Let's get maximum volume you see the red light that means the headphones are powered off but we're drawing power from the phone and the music is on that is pretty dope let me see how they sound okay they sound exactly the same okay that is pretty dope all right now let's try the same thing with an Android phone now these are powered off as you can see this time we're going to try the 3.5 cable okay we're going to plug this in Android phone with a headphone jack let's sit playing the music you hear that let's get maximum volume we playing music with the headphones off now let me see how they sound let's go and get maximum volume okay we good okay all right hold up did y'all hear that nice and loud no battery necessary how dope is that now we'll do one last test with the Android phone we're going to plug in the USB type-c okay USB type-c let's hit play on the music let's get some volume same thing so you got USB type-c or 3.5 analog input with the battery off all right so now let's check for latency and what I mean by that is when you're watching a video is there any delay from the person's lips to what you hear now this is Netflix let's hit play okay now okay no lip sync delay at all let me wait for to see The Voice one more time yeah perfect no delay at all so this will be great for watching your videos all right so now let's try find my okay now I got my address blocked up but as you see I can play sound so if you lose these I'm going to hit play sound yeah hear this so if you lose your headphones you can easily track them all right so now let me answer those three questions number one are these worth 200 bucks I would say yes the sound quality the features the look easily worth the price number two which one sounds better the studios or the solos let's do a quick side by-side test same phone same settings same everything all right so I'm going to hit play on the music okay now I'm not going to sing for this one okay okay very loud okay been doing it my way in my way for years all right now let's try the studios Okay I'm going to start it over okay now in terms of actual volume they sound about the same volume but you could definitely feel more Bass with the studios yeah definitely more bass doing it my way in my F yeah okay yeah okay the studios in terms of actual volume just volume levels they sound about the same but the studios got more bass you got active noise cancellation and transparency mode okay so these are definitely the big boys which one would I pick the studios of course I need active noise cancellation all right so now let's try the Beat Solo 4S versus the Sony alware both of these 200 bucks but the Sony's have active noise cancellation and transparency mode and extra base now I'm going to go into this with an open mind I haven't heard this yet but I think the Sony's are going to sound better let's try the solos first okay maximum volume Optimum settings okay definitely the Supreme Clarity on these okay that that Basse feels good too okay hold up all right now let's try to P okay now in terms of volume they're pretty much neck and neck the Sony's definitely have a better fit because my whole a is engulfed under this oh the Sony has more bass definitely oh the Sony bass is rumbling I would say the solos got more clarity y the base on the all wear now let me hit that button okay yeah yeah yeah the Sony's all right check this out now I got to be totally honest with y'all in terms of just sound quality and in terms of overall value I would have to go with the Sony's first of all over the air okay now in terms of weight they're both super lightweight you can rock these to the gym but some people want smaller all if you want smaller these are more on air these are over with the ear that means your ear is going to be inside this cup so it's going to get it's going to give you a better fit in terms of your music the quality it's going to sound a little bit better with the Sony's because again it's over the air so it's blocking out some outside noise not to mention these have the Supreme active noise cancellation for 200 bucks and the transparency mode is pretty good and you got that alt button for the base so if you like bass Heavy Music and you want to spend 200 bucks I'd recommend going with the Sony's I you can't go wrong with these you get an active noise cancellation transparency mode and extra base fully customizable EQ I mean Sony wins this round however however we got to talk about looks all that's kind of important too you know when you you playing on a basketball team or you're playing on the sports team at your school or whatever you're doing or you're just working out in the gym and you want a little bit of you want a little bit of fashion sense okay you want a bit of little let me say that word again Riz are you trying to get your Riz up these ain't it I these ain't it you want to go for the Beats all right these are more trendy if you got a bunch of iPhones you you up in the gym working out with your Under Armour shirt on and your LeBron James or your Jordan's on and you want to have more fashion then you might want to go with the Beats all right this is Iconic iconic but my job as a YouTuber all as a YouTuber is to let y'all spend your money the best now if it was me and I had 200 bucks to my name and I said I got to go get some headphones I don't really care about the fashion part too much I would go with the Sony's but I would go with the Sony's active noise cancellation transparency mode customizable EQ and more base I am a base hit however let's go ahead and wrap this video up okay so overall overall on a scale of 1 to 10 I'm going to give the Beats Solo 4S a major major go what would I like to see okay now I would say these should be 150 bucks considering that you could get active noise cancellation for 200 so these should be 150 bucks okay for 200 bucks I would like to have seen active noise cancellation I would have like to have seen a customizable EQ and I would like to have seen a nice uh water resistance rating a nice IP rating now I don't know these might be ipx I didn't I should have checked that I didn't really see anything pop out for the water resistance on these but nevertheless I would like to have seen active noise cancellation transparency mode and customizable EQ and maybe a little bit more Bas okay these could use a little bit more Bass But if you want the same fashion all right you want the same iOS compatibility the spatial audio needs oh I will say that though I will say that the spatial audio does give it does give the solos more of a Clarity okay now I know everybody ain't like me everybody don't like bass Heavy Music some of y'all want to listen to Taylor Swift all right if you really into that Clarity I would say these have the Supreme Clarity okay not the Supreme let me stop using that word so much these have a great amount of clarity you're going to love the spatial audio when you turn on spatial audio if you're using Apple music it makes a difference okay it's not a gimmick and the head tracking the head tracking is so fun like like I'm saying L yeah like you know Different Strokes for different folks okay Different Strokes for different folks but if you want the trendiness and you want more Basse and all of the iOS features just keep in mind it's not just about the sound quality it's about the features the fine my the compatibility across all your devices being able to use these with no battery 50 hours battery life Quick Charge excellent core quality you know you got to weigh up the pros and the cons okay the pros and the cons are these worth 200 bucks yes without a doubt call Quality sound quality the look okay get your RZ on okay that's the last time you're going to hear me say that word on my channel but I would recommend if you want more sound quality and try these with the power off so here's what I'm going to do you see they connected I'm going to go ahead and power these off you see they're fully disconnected okay now I'm going to grab the USB type-c cable let's go and plug these in plug them into the iPhone and if you notice a little light came on right there let's hit play Let's get maximum volume you see the red light that means the headphones are powered off but we're drawing power from the phone and the music is on that is pretty dope let me see how they sound okay they sound exactly the same okay that is pretty dope all right now let's try the same thing with an Android phone now these are powered off as you can see this time we're going to try the 3.5 cable okay we're going to plug this in Android phone with a headphone jack let's sit playing the music you hear that let's get maximum volume we playing music with the headphones off now let me see how they sound let's go and get maximum volume okay we good okay all say yes the sound quality the features the look easily worth the price number two which one sounds better the studios or the solos let's do a quick side by-side test same phone same settings same studios Okay I'm going to start it over okay now in terms of actual volume they sound about the same volume but you could definitely feel more Bass with the studios yeah definitely more bass doing it my way in my F yeah okay yeah okay the studios in terms of actual volume just volume levels they sound about the same but the studios got more bass you got active noise cancellation and transparency mode okay so these are definitely the big boys which one would I pick the studios of course I need active noise cancellation all right so now let's try the Beat Solo 4S versus the Sony alware both of these 200 bucks but the Sony's have active noise cancellation and transparency mode and extra base now I'm going to go into this with an open mind I haven't heard this yet but I think the Sony's are going to sound better let's try the solos first okay maximum volume Optimum settings okay definitely the Supreme Clarity on these okay that that Basse feels good too okay hold up all right now let's try to P okay now in terms of volume they're pretty much neck and neck the Sony's definitely have a better fit because my whole a is engulfed under this oh the Sony has more bass definitely oh the Sony bass is rumbling I would say the solos got more clarity y the base on the all wear now let me hit that button okay yeah yeah yeah the Sony's all right check this out now I got to be totally honest with y'all in terms of just sound quality and in terms of overall value I would have to go with the Sony's first of all over the air okay now in terms of weight they're both super lightweight you can rock these to the gym but some people want smaller all if you want smaller these are more on air these are over with the ear that means your ear is going to be inside this cup so it's going to get it's going to give you a better fit in terms of your music the quality it's going to sound a little bit better with the Sony's because again it's over the air so it's blocking out some outside noise not to mention these have the Supreme active noise cancellation for 200 bucks and the transparency mode is pretty good and you got that alt button for the base so if you like bass Heavy Music and you want to spend 200 bucks I'd recommend going with the Sony's I you can't go wrong with these you get an active noise cancellation transparency mode and extra base fully customizable EQ I mean Sony wins this round however however we got to talk about looks all that's kind of important too you know when you you playing on a basketball team or you're playing on the sports team at your school or whatever you're doing or you're just working out in the gym and you want a little bit of you want a little bit of fashion sense okay you want a bit of little let me say that word again Riz are you trying to get your Riz up these ain't it I these ain't it you want to go for the Beats all right these are more trendy if you got a bunch of iPhones you you up in the gym working out with your Under Armour shirt on and your LeBron James or your Jordan's on and you want to have more fashion then you might want to go with the Beats all right this is Iconic iconic but my job as a YouTuber all as a YouTuber is to let y'all spend your money the best now if it was me and I had 200 bucks to my name and I said I got to go get some headphones I don't really care about the fashion part too much I would go with the Sony's but I would go with the Sony's active noise cancellation transparency mode customizable EQ and more base I am a base hit however let's go ahead and wrap this video up okay so overall overall on a scale of 1 to 10 I'm going to give the Beats Solo 4S a major major go what would I like to see okay now I would say these should be 150 bucks considering that you could get active noise cancellation for 200 so these should be 150 bucks okay for 200 bucks I would like to have seen active noise cancellation I would have like to have seen a customizable EQ and I would like to have seen a nice uh water resistance rating a nice IP rating now I don't know these might be ipx I didn't I should have checked that I didn't really see anything pop out for the water resistance on these but nevertheless I would like to have seen active noise cancellation transparency mode and customizable EQ and maybe a little bit more Bas okay these could use a little bit more Bass But if you want the same fashion all right you want the same iOS compatibility the spatial audio needs oh I will say that though I will say that the spatial audio does give it does give the solos more of a Clarity okay now I know everybody ain't like me everybody don't like bass Heavy Music some of y'all want to listen to Taylor Swift all right if you really into that Clarity I would say these have the Supreme Clarity okay not the Supreme let me stop using that word so much these have a great amount of clarity you're going to love the spatial audio when you turn on spatial audio if you're using Apple music it makes a difference okay it's not a gimmick and the head tracking the head tracking is so fun like like I'm saying L yeah like you know Different Strokes for different folks okay Different Strokes for different folks but if you want the trendiness and you want more Basse and all of the iOS features just keep in mind it's not just about the sound quality it's about the features the fine my the compatibility across all your devices being able to use these with no battery 50 hours battery life Quick Charge excellent core quality you know you got to weigh up the pros and the cons okay the pros and the cons are these worth 200 bucks yes without a doubt call Quality sound quality the look okay get your RZ on okay that's the last time you're going to hear me say that word on my channel but I
