Samsung Galaxy Note 7 vs Galaxy S7 Edge Comparison

**A Comprehensive Review of Samsung's Note 7 and S7 Edge**

When it comes to smartphones, Samsung is known for its innovative features and high-quality devices. The Note series and S7 Edge are two of the most popular models from Samsung, but which one should you choose? In this article, we will delve into the details of both devices and help you decide which one is right for you.

**Note 7: A Device with a Twist**

The Note 7 has a unique feature that sets it apart from other smartphones - the S Pen. The S Pen is a stylus that allows users to write notes, draw pictures, and even take screenshots. While some people love the S Pen, others find it unnecessary or cumbersome. If you think you will be using the S Pen frequently, then the Note 7 might be the perfect device for you.

However, if you don't see the value in the S Pen, then you might want to consider other options. The Note series is known for its large screen size and powerful performance, but these features are also available on the S7 Edge. So, what sets the Note 7 apart from its competitors?

In terms of design, the Note 7 has a sleek and premium look that is sure to turn heads. The device is made of high-quality materials and has a smooth finish that feels great in your hand. However, some users have reported that the phone can be slippery at times, which might make it difficult to hold onto.

To address this issue, Samsung has included a case with the Note 7. While the case is not necessary, it does provide an additional layer of security and protection for the device.

**S7 Edge: A Device without the S Pen**

On the other hand, the S7 Edge is a device that doesn't come with the S Pen. However, this doesn't mean that it's any less impressive than the Note 7. The S7 Edge has a slightly larger screen size and a more powerful processor, making it a great option for gamers and power users.

In terms of performance, the S7 Edge is one of the fastest smartphones on the market. It can handle even the most demanding tasks with ease, thanks to its powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor.

The camera on the S7 Edge is also top-notch, with a high-quality rear camera that can capture stunning images and videos. The front camera is also great, making it perfect for selfies and video conferencing.

**Battery Life: A Key Consideration**

One of the most important considerations when choosing a smartphone is battery life. Both the Note 7 and S7 Edge have decent battery life, but there are some subtle differences between the two devices.

The S7 Edge has a slightly beefier battery at 3600mAh, while the Note 7 has a battery at 3500mAh. However, in our testing, we found that both devices had almost identical battery life.

In day-to-day usage, both devices lasted for around 4-5 hours on a single charge. This is impressive, considering that both devices are designed to handle heavy use. We also tested the battery life of both devices overnight and were able to get around 30% charge left at 11pm.

However, if you're planning to use your phone extensively throughout the day, you might want to consider a device with slightly better battery life.

**Display: A Key Feature**

The display on both devices is one of its strongest features. The S7 Edge has a high-resolution screen that is perfect for watching videos and browsing the web. However, the Note 7 has a slightly brighter display that is better suited for outdoor use.

In terms of brightness, we found that the Note 7's screen was about 10% brighter than the S7 Edge's screen in direct sunlight. This is a significant difference, especially when it comes to watching videos or browsing the web outdoors.

However, the S7 Edge's screen is still quite bright and comfortable to look at, even in bright sunlight. So, while the Note 7's display might be slightly better suited for outdoor use, both devices are great options if you want a high-quality display.

**Internal Storage: A Key Consideration**

One of the key differences between the Note 7 and S7 Edge is internal storage. The Note 7 comes with 64GB of internal storage, while the S7 Edge only comes with 32GB.

If you think you will be storing a lot of files or apps on your phone, then the Note 7's extra internal storage might be worth considering. However, if you're not planning to store too much data, then the S7 Edge's smaller storage size is likely sufficient.

**Conclusion**

In conclusion, both the Note 7 and S7 Edge are great smartphones that offer a range of features and benefits. The Note 7 has a unique feature in the form of the S Pen, while the S7 Edge offers a more powerful processor and better camera. However, when it comes to battery life, internal storage, and display brightness, there are some subtle differences between the two devices.

Ultimately, the choice between the Note 7 and S7 Edge will depend on your individual needs and preferences. If you want a device with a stylus and extra internal storage, then the Note 7 might be the better option for you. However, if you're looking for a more powerful processor and better camera, then the S7 Edge is likely to be the better choice.

**Final Verdict**

Both the Note 7 and S7 Edge are great smartphones that offer a range of features and benefits. The Note 7 has a unique feature in the form of the S Pen, while the S7 Edge offers a more powerful processor and better camera. However, when it comes to battery life, internal storage, and display brightness, there are some subtle differences between the two devices.

So, which one should you choose? If you want a device with a stylus and extra internal storage, then the Note 7 might be the better option for you. However, if you're looking for a more powerful processor and better camera, then the S7 Edge is likely to be the better choice.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi there this is Ranjit and I'm getting a lot of question from you guys and many of you are confused whether to go with the newer Samsung Galaxy Note 7 or the S7 Edge and I had used the S7 Edge for over 2 and a half months as my primary phone uh so let's get on with the main differences and the Practical differences that you would feel again I've been using this note 7 now for almost uh about 3 weeks so I'm also used to the one and the first thing is regarding size I'm getting a lot of questions regarding the sizes yes uh the Galaxy Note 7 has a slightly larger screen that's a 5.7 in whereas the s7h had a what do you say 5.5 in screen but don't worry when you hold them in the hand the difference is not that much so if you purely want to decide based upon the size size is sort of very similar in terms of in hand feel for both the devices if you really want a smaller phone I would suggest the Galaxy S7 even over the S7 Edge that's my Frank Opinion now uh recently uh Samsung has dropped the pricing of the S7 Edge in India earlier if I recall it was for 5 7,900 but just recently just about 5 6 days ago they have dropped down the price to ,900 and this uh Note 7 will be priced at uh 59,900 in India so now there is a price difference of 9,000 rupees between uh both these devices earlier the price Gap was not that much but now it's a substantial price Gap that I feel that's about 9,000 rupees you have to keep that into account now let me talk about some of the new features on the Note 7 uh regarding internal storage you do get a lot more internal storage on the Note 7 with the s7h you get 32 GB of internal storage whereas we get 64 GB of internal storage with the Note 7 so in terms of internal storage if you load a lot of apps and very heavy games and you think that uh 32 GB out of that roughly usable you get about 24 GB uh won't be sufficient then you can lean over the Note 7 because the Note 7 has 64 GB of internal storage next the new feature that we find on the Note 7 that's not present on the S7 H is that Iris scanner and in fact that works I've already made a different video regarding the iris scanner uh and you can check out that I'll have the link in the YouTube show notes so we have the that functionality of the iris scanner on this uh Note 7 that's not present on the uh S7 Edge uh next biggest thing with the node devices is the inclusion of the Spen so think will you use the Spen and are you the person who likes to jot down notes and stuff like that uh it's very easy to write down notes you can even write on the screen and do stuff so if you are that kind of a person uh you can uh use this uh Note 7 and again s Spen I have notice that it's a hit or a miss some people love the Espen but I know many people majority of the people who have the note series just don't care about the S Pen so decide if you think you will be using the Spen then go with the uh Note 7 uh next thing is uh uh regarding uh what do you say uh if you buy even the S7 Edge or even the Note 7 just get a damn case both these devices are sort of slippery and uh yeah they have Gorilla Glass prodection in terms of Gorilla Glass prodection the S7 Edge has Gorilla Glass 4 whereas Note 7 has Gorilla Glass 5 but still I would suggest get a case because these devices are sort of slippery and uh next moving to battery life uh in technical terms the S7 Ed has slightly beefier battery at 3,600 Mah whereas this note 7 has a uh 3,500 mAh battery but in day-to-day uh usage and regular testing that I have done the battery life is almost similar on both the devices that's so there is not a much difference in terms of battery life and I have to say the battery life is good on both the phones with my regular daily usage that's on let's say about 40% on 4G or 3G data and rest on Wi-Fi when I'm in office and stuff I could easily last for a full working day for example even at night at about 11:00 I still had about 30% charge on both the s7h and the Note 7 in terms of screen on time I I would say it hovers between 4 and 1/2 to slightly over uh 5 hours uh that's about 5 hours 15 minutes or so that was that I was getting so in terms of battery life not much difference that I have noticed between both these devices uh there is one more thing that I noticed that is on the Note 7 the Note 7 screen is slightly brighter if you go Outdoors but again the S7 Edge screen is also easily visible in direct sunlight so I don't see it as a huge Edge but yeah and there is another thing that I have noticed that Samsung has done with this uh Note 7 is that whenever you play back any video content it automatically detects that and boosts up the screen brightness and makes it really vibrant they call this d uh DNA technology what they had in uh their uh televisions so that's also implemented on the Note 7 I wouldn't say it's a must have feature or something like that uh you can always manually crank up the brightness even on the S7 head so as you can see not a huge difference between the S7 Ed and the Note 7 the biggest difference for me personally is the higher internal storage that you'll be getting uh 32 compared uh to 64 that you'll be getting on the Note 7 the S Spen feature and the iris scanner so again decide are you going to really use the uh extra internal storage and the S Pen I would say these are the two deciding factors that you have to look into but if you think that you're not going to use huge storage or the airpin then I I would say you can definitely go with the s7h the s7h is still a perfectly viable phone it's still a flagship in fact the internals the uh are the same uh Note 7 is also using the same processor that is used on the s7h and in fact the camera modules is also the same uh so again guys uh uh there is now a price difference about 9,000 rupes uh so you have to also take that into consideration so still uh I would say uh if you have the budget you want the best from Samsung uh then I would say go with the Note 7 but uh if you want to save some money and you feel that you won't be using that extra internal storage and the Spen features then definitely you can still go with the S7 Edge again I have already posted my uh in-depth review for the S7 Edge you can check that out for more details and in fact I also posted a FAQ video on the Note 7 where I answer most of the common questions that I was getting and I'll be soon be posting the full in-depth review for The Note 7 also in the next couple of days so so just stay tuned to my channel and if you're not
