I Cried After I Drove My McLaren For The First Time

**A Year's Worth of Hard Work: The Mclaren 675 LT at SEMA**

We're finally here, standing in front of our SEMA booth with my brand new Mclaren 675 LT. It's about to be shown to thousands and thousands of people in Las Vegas, and I couldn't be more excited. This car has been two years in the making, and I've spent every penny on it. In fact, I'd say this is the most expensive project I've ever had, even surpassing my house.

I have to admit, when I first got this car, it looked like a crumpled piece of paper. It was hit in the front and back, and needed carbon fiber work because it had damaged the tub, subframe, engine wiring, and turbo. It was a daunting project, but with the help of my team, especially Auto Tempest, the theory sponsor, we got it together. I'm very proud to show you guys this car.

**The Build Process**

One thing I like about doing a build like this is actually putting a nail in the paint or just putting a scratch on it somewhere and then mentally realizing that it's not perfect. That already takes a weight off my shoulders, so now I feel like we could just do launch controls inside right away. Yeah, jumping into it. We're officially in SEMA, make sure not to hit the tractor dude.

The car is finally here, and it's in front of the Rag Company SEMA booth. I have to explain how much this actually means to me because this has been a two-year journey. I've spent every penny on this car, even more than I have on my house. It was the most daunting project I've ever had, but also the most rewarding.

We custom painted the car with a shade of blue that we called Tempest Blue, after our sponsor Auto Tempest. We added some pearl flake to give it an extra level of depth. The carbon fiber work is all matte, which gives it a high-end look. We also added gold accents throughout the car, including in the engine bay.

**The Mclaren F1 Tribute**

This car was my slice of Mclaren F1 heaven. When I got to ride in a Mclaren F1 for my series car trek, it completely broke me. It's a feeling I've never experienced with any other car. This was my little piece of Mclaren F1, so we redid the interior to reflect that. We have these Daytona seats, a two-tone tan and Alcantara and black theme on the inside. Everything is custom, including the gold accents in the engine bay.

**The Finished Product**

I invite you all to come take a look around the car, take some pictures, ask questions. These guys will be giving out some goodie bags, so make sure to find them out there. We have five different towels or four different towels and a sticker. Just go see him and you'll get your free swag, and come say hi and ask me about the car.

**The SEMA Experience**

As we're standing here in front of our booth, I can feel the energy building up inside me. This thing drives amazingly well, and I'm still trying to process just how amazing it is. It's a feeling that's hard to put into words. For those who have been following my series car trek, you know that this was always going to be a challenge.

We've worked tirelessly over the past two years to get to this point, and it's a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team. We built this car from scratch, with every single component custom-made to fit our vision. And now, here we are, showcasing it to thousands of people at SEMA.

So what do I want to say about this car? It was the most daunting project I've ever had, but also the most rewarding. If you're looking for a build guide or inspiration, then I hope my series can be of some help to you.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enoh my goodness how's it going guys my name is savarsh and today is going to be really interesting because this is going to be the very first drive of my mclaren lt and i'm taking it to one of the biggest car shows in the world the sema show and uh i've never driven it before uh that long and i don't know if it's gonna make it so no pressure let's just start the car up oh yeah so these seats are not exactly meant for people my size uh a little scrunched up in here but it's okay because we are in a mclaren let's put it into sport mode drive now the thing to know about a mclaren well there's two things uh one is that it's uh very low to the ground and two um the turning radius is is pretty pretty abysmal so any like three-point turn requires like a five or seven point turn so we're gonna try to get out of this uh parking lot here without scraping that very very expensive carbon bumper to lift it up and that takes you know i have to raise the car vehicle raising and this is a four wheel lift so everything should come up just waiting for that to happen are we good clear it just just touched the guard that's fine there is a giant blind spot with this uh this thing in the way this roof scoop but i'm gonna go ahead and say that that's uh it's necessary that's a price i'm willing to pay i can't tell you how good this feels this thing is so fun so in sport mode it gives you those little cracks so one of the cool things about having a roof scoop is that you can hear the induction noise now that we get on the highway the first time i'm getting on the highway in my mclaren wow oh wow oh my goodness this thing is so fast seeing the wing behind me and hearing that air scoop up top this is just heaven those those pops are just insane i don't know if i can convey the feeling that i'm feeling right now my hands are shaking because i always wanted this car this car was a life goal for me now i know that i built a mercy before and that was just just an amazing experience but i remember seeing the first video of this car when smee 150 got it and i thought to myself i would never be able to afford one of these never in a million years and here i am with one that looks fantastic and drives awesome it's about to be shown to thousands and thousands of people in las vegas it really means a lot it really underpass oh my goodness holy hell all right well we made it we spent all that time to uh to make sure the thing doesn't like hit the front bumper and the second we get in here oh well yeah that's true so what i like about doing a build like this is actually like putting a nail in the paint or just putting a scratch on it somewhere and then mentally you realize that it's not perfect so that that already kind of takes a a weight off my shoulders so now i feel like we could just do launch controls inside right yeah just jumping oh we are officially in sema make sure not to hit the tractor dude this is awesome this thank you so much okay so the car is here it's in front of the rag company sema booth and i can't i can't explain to you how much this actually means to me because this has been two years in the making i've spent the most money on this car that i've spent on anything ever including my house and i honestly think it's it's super worth it i want to thank all of you for watching this series for helping me along for supporting me everybody that worked on this car i want to thank them i need to get this energy out like i need to just calm down relax because i'm still like super wired this thing drives amazingly and this is just the beginning with this car but until next time this is me reminding you guys that on cars like this that now look amazing and now they're exactly where they're supposed to be you guys need to build them better and to do that you should wrench every day i'm going to have to speak up a little bit because i don't have any pa system or microphone or nothing so what i can say about this car is that it was the most daunting project i've ever had ever it's the most expensive project i've ever had and it's a project that gave me the most sleepless nights this is a 2016 this uh we really got it together and i am very very proud to show you guys this car uh so without further ado uh you wanna i'll i'll go on this side that side all right yeah uh we just gotta get the hole from the mirror yeah pull from the mirror make sure it snaps yeah okay uh this is my mclaren lt all right there we go so we did a custom paint scheme which was a shade of blue that was basically miami blue but a lot of pearl flake in it and we called it tempest blue after the sponsor auto tempest we also have some blue flake inside the carpet the carbon is going to all be matte so we made that gloss i think it's a little bit more i think it's a little it just adds a little bit more of a high upscale look also uh we have some gold accents and that gold actually goes right back into the engine bay because this car is less of a 675 and more of a mclaren f1 tribute because i got the chance to ride in a mclaren f1 for my series car trek and that just broke me like it completely broke me
