**Intel HD 3000 vs UHD 770: A Gaming Performance Comparison**
That it runs very well for an Intel IGPU, let's move over to an even less demanding game as we'd expect the UHD 770 destroys Half-Life 2 even at 1080p with the settings cranked. So we've got some tough competition here for the HD 3000. Uh, it should be able to run this decently right like I'd be really surprised if the HD 3000 struggles with Half-Life 2.
Oh, we're not off to a great start with the HD Graphics 3000 so we're gonna have to go down to the next step in game demandingness GTA 5. Hopefully that runs well, that is that is bad that doesn't entirely make sense to me I'm not I'm not gonna lie why is it only sitting at sixty percent utilization and also earlier it was running at like twelve thirteen hundred megahertz and that's dropped way down a big part of why this is running as atrociously as it is is that uh I couldn't actually overclock the ram on this on this motherboard so it's running at 13 33 megahertz which is the base frequency for DDR3.
I don't know, that's all I can think because why is what what is wait I I have an idea let me just go check something out quickly is that all it can use it can just use a gig okay so even at 800x600 we're still really struggling the resolution change doesn't seem to really make much of a difference for some reason now this is definitely more in line with the kind of gaming experience I picture when I hear the word Intel IGPU.
Uh, so yeah I guess GTA 5 is out of the question oh okay um CS GO at 720p it's not too bad we just have a couple of big dips happening here but it's actually using the entire IGPU as opposed to GTA 5 is like 60 so I think that's one of the reasons we're getting a reasonable frame rate you know it's not it's not like playable for CS GO but it's better than I was expecting.
Half-Life 2 really is an MVP game it will run on any reasonable hardware including a Casio digital watch which actually performs surprisingly similarly to the HD 3000 graphics now this is also running at 1080p pretty much max settings in the same way that we were running on the the UHD 770 it's not looking great um we're struggling to maintain above 30 frames per second and this is one of the better performing areas in Half-Life 2 as well so it's it's it's not looking good now here we've moved over to the riverboat bit which is definitely more demanding than the previous trainee bit I guess this is what it's called.
Unfortunately we have dropped closer to that cinematic frame rate although despite the fact that Half-Life 2 was about 7 years old when the 2600k was launched this is still running at 1080p with maxed out settings and it is working right so I I guess that's kind of commendable.
**Conclusion**
The UHD 770 absolutely curb stomps the HD 3000 but I mean obviously it would right there's a 10 year age gap between these two eye GPUs and actually taking that 10-year age gap into account is the difference as big as you were expecting. I mean if we look at an apples to apples comparison Half-Life 2 running at the exact same settings in the more demanding sequence like the riverboat sequence uh the UHD 770 in that test actually never hit the 300 frame per second frame rate cap in Half-Life 2 so it means that that IGPU was pretty fully taxed in that test.
In that situation there was about a seven time performance difference between the UHD 770 and the HD 3000 which again is huge but is it as big as you'd expect let me know in the comment section down below what you think if you were expecting more of a performance difference between these two and uh yeah I think with that it brings me to the end of the video thank you very much for watching if you enjoyed the video like and subscribe to the channel for more videos like this one and until the next one bye.
WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: entoday we're gonna do one of my favorite video series on this channel old versus new we're gonna see how far intel igpu gaming performance has come in the last 10 years can the octogenarian equivalent of an igpu still throw down against its great great great great grandchild uh we'll find out today but before we get into that it's time for a quick word from today's video sponsor algato domo elgato mr robotto today's video is sponsored by the elgato facecam which is an amazing webcam option for streamers and or zoom call enthusiasts now when talking about the elgato facecam i can drop some fancy camera words on you like f 2.4 aperture and 24 millimeter full frame equivalent focal length but the thing that i like the most about the face cam's image quality is the fact that it's got a fixed focus lens which means you don't have to worry about any super annoying focus hunting other than that the elgato face cam has an easy to use monitor mount but it also has a quarter inch thread in the bottom so you can mount it on pretty much any tripod which is super useful so if you want an easy to use feature-rich webcam with good image quality the elgato facecam is definitely a great option for you thank you elgato for sponsoring today's video first off let's meet the contenders starting with the latest igpu from intel which is the uhd 770. and in terms of the octogenarian we're going to be testing the igpu in the now legendary i7 2600k now the igpu is called the hd 3000 when it comes to basic specs the difference isn't as shocking as you'd expect the hd 3000 has 96 cores as opposed to the 256 on the uhd 770. tmu wise we're looking at 12 versus 16 and robs wise we're looking at two as opposed to eight now one of the big advantages that the uhd 770 has is that it supports directx 12 which means you'll be able to play most modern titles using it uh even if it's going to lead to not great performance but you still technically could whereas the hd 3000 only supported diredex 11 ish it kind of supports some features of directx 11.1 but not all of them so a lot of directx 11 games don't actually work with the hd 3000 but you know performance wise that's kind of irrelevant because it's not like they're going to be playable anyway now these specs are relatively superficial there is a lot more involved in determining the performance of a gpu with that being said i think it's time that we start having a look at how these two compare in the most important metric gaming performance now we're going to start off by flexing the full majestic power of the uhd 770 by playing some battlefield 5 on an intel igpu now it is only running at 720p with low settings but it is running if you told me six months ago that you could have a relatively playable gaming experience with battlefield 5 on an intel i gpu i would have smacked you across the face and told you that you were doing drugs or whatever on a quick side note the uhd 770 does seem to overclock quite well we currently have it running at 2 gigahertz as opposed to the 1.55 gigahertz that it comes stock and we're kind of sitting in about 60 frames per second here with battlefield 5 which that's really impressive this is this is good although there is no way that our old intel igpu is going to be able to run this game so yeah let's move over to a game that hopefully we can get running on the on the old boy now gta 5 is the first game that that old intel igpu the hd 3000 is even conceivably going to be able to run and i don't know if i'm being very optimistic by saying that but here we're running a 1080p normal settings on the uhd 770 and it is a surprisingly playable gaming experience we have a solid above 60 frame per second gameplay at 1080p which i i'm still impressed by now moving slowly down the food chain of game demandingness uh hoping that we're going to find a game that that that hd 3000 igpu is going to be able to run but anyway we have cs go here at 1080p low settings i'd say that it runs very well for an intel igpu let's move over to an even less demanding game as we'd expect the uhd 770 destroys half-life 2 even at 1080p with the settings
