Using two AirPods with one iPhone on iOS 13!

Introducing Two Ways to Share Audio with a Friend Using Two Sets of Ear Pods

Welcome everyone, it's Andrew here from Apple Insider, and today we're excited to share with you two ways to share audio with a friend using two sets of ear pods. With iOS 13, you'll finally be able to share your audio with a friend using two sets of ear pods or the Powerbeats Pro.

We have two devices here, one an iPad Pro and the other an iPhone 10's, each with different iCloud accounts and their own sets of ear pads attached. We're currently in the first beta of iOS 13, which means things don't exactly work as they always should. For instance, I should be able to move one device near the second device while audio is playing and ear pods are connected, and I should get a share request. However, that's not the case, it's simply a bug found in the beta process, and it'll be clear by the time iOS 13 is released.

However, there's a second way to go about this, all you need is your two sets of ear pods, and in iOS 13, your device could be either an iPad or an iPhone. We already have one set of ear pods connected to this phone, now we're gonna pair a second one. We're gonna hold the button on the back of my wife's ear pod, and in a matter of moments, you will see under other devices in our connection list, we will tap it there, and it'll connect to our phone once it is connected.

You'll see connected showing next to Andrew's Air pods and Faiths ear pods. So now, whatever audio source for listening to could be the music app, could be a third-party audio app, could be a video movie, anything like that. When you tap into that AirPlay menu, you should see both the second pair of ear pods and your initial set of ear pods. We go ahead and put these each into our ears, we can listen to the same audio at the same time.

We try putting them to the same ears so we can kind of see there was any lag or difference between the two devices, and no, they're pretty much on par with one another. This is such an effortless way to share audio with iOS 13, and we can't wait for the proximity way to start working with a subsequent beta in the final release of iOS 13.
