$300 YouTube Starter Kit - Lights, Mic, Tripod, Phone Mount, Hot Shoe

**My YouTube Starter Kit Setup**

I'm excited to share with you my new YouTube starter kit setup that I've been working on. As an avid YouTube creator, I needed a reliable and convenient way to film high-quality videos. After researching and testing various products, I'm pleased to show you the equipment I've chosen.

**The Tripod**

My first stop is the tripod, which is essential for stabilizing my camera. I've chosen the AmazonBasics 60-inch Lightweight Tripod with Back. This tripod is very lightweight, making it easy to carry around, and has a sturdy design that can support a lot of weight. I'll be using this tripod to mount my phone or camera, depending on the type of video I'm filming.

**The Comstock Mini Ball Head with Lock and Hotshoe**

Next, I have the Comstock mini ball head with lock and hotshoe. This small but mighty accessory allows me to attach a variety of devices to my tripod, including my phone and camera. The ball head has a lock mechanism that ensures everything is secure and stable, even when moving between different angles or shots. With this little guy on my tripod, I can connect my phone or other device directly to the tripod, making it easy to film high-quality videos.

**Phone Mounts**

I've also purchased two phone mounts: the AmazonBasics Phone Mount Product Model C4 Mobile and a Vaster as well. These mounts allow me to attach my phone to the tripod or other devices, giving me more flexibility when filming videos. The phone mount with the model number C4 is particularly interesting, as it has a built-in mount on the bottom that screws into the tripod, and another mount for my phone that can be unscrewed and clamped onto.

**Softbox Lighting**

Lighting is crucial for creating visually appealing and professional-looking videos. I've chosen the newer 160 LED Softbox, which comes in a compact and portable package. This softbox light is designed to produce a soft, even illumination that reduces harsh shadows and highlights. The LED light is energy-efficient and easy to use, making it perfect for long filming sessions.

**Testing the Setup**

Now that I have all my equipment assembled, let's test out how well everything works together. First, I plugged in the Comstock mini ball head with lock and hotshoe into the tripod, attached my phone to the Vaster as well mount, and plugged in the mic. To my delight, the video might go recognized the microphone correctly, which is a must for high-quality audio.

**Using the Softbox Light**

Next, I decided to test out the softbox light. With the LED light turned on, I was able to achieve some amazing results. The soft, even illumination reduced harsh shadows and highlights, making my skin look smoother and more natural. The softbox light also created a beautiful rim light effect, which adds depth and dimensionality to my videos.

**Final Thoughts**

Overall, I'm thrilled with how this YouTube starter kit setup turned out. Each component has its own unique features and benefits, and together they provide me with the flexibility and quality I need to create engaging and high-quality content for my audience. what it looks like for my perspective so here we're looking at the nice big riot light I think it gives up plenty of light so my quick review is a thumbs up on those lumo studio lights let's move on here I have this Bastar universal mount for my phone so I can have it portrait I'm going to do that for demoing some how-to videos on the phone here I chose the rode videomic go and I couldn't decide on a mic especially since I don't have a professional camera that I'm using so I wanted something that was high quality that I could use on the go so we're going to try this out I haven't found great resources that says it works on my mobile device but I know that as long as I got this cable the sc7 and it should work no problem on my phone so we're going to try that out next pull it out of the box so here it is really nice size very lightweight Syria has a cold shoe attachment and I have on those right here okay so the sc7 cable it connects TRS to trrs patch cable so that means that this should connect the rode videomic go to say my galaxy s7 or an iPhone so that you can use it on this device so here they are color coded black just goes on the back here and then we'll plug this into the phone first I'm going to pop open this newer box so this is this is the newer aluminum alloy V shaped triple so is what I'm gonna use this for is on my tripod I'm gonna be able to connect my phone as as well as the video might go right on top all with one mount which is gonna be very handy so this little guy right here this is the Comstock mini ball head with lock and hotshoe so is what this is going to be used for is I can plug this right on to the mount and then I can actually attach another I can attach this right on here so I can mount my phone or the mount I'm currently using on my s7 right on to this so let's get it set up plug it on there and I'll plug in the mic and we'll see how that sounds okay so with this I just slide it on and then I just screw this and if it's tight I can also use this to mount my phone that way if I want okay so now I can just attach this is a phone mount I'm currently using it's a vaster as well how convenient so I'm going to throw that on there make this as level as I can so I sit my phone on works just like that then hopefully let's go right just slide in baby micro right there video might go wish I had a pro and I just screw this down to tighten it so it's pretty tight fit there but I think it will work now let's plug in the video might go right into the galaxy s so I'm gonna go screw this on my tripod so right now you are listening to the mic on the galaxy s7 sounds okay but it's really eques so now let's plug this in see how it sounds okay now this is recording from the rode videomic go so when I plugged it in it did say recording from mic which was great that's exactly what I wanted to see so that I know it was going to work so now this is this mean recording from the video might go I hope it sounds great very crisp clear we'll see what the overall result is and if I decide to record it when this video is done and as I'm putting it together so next let's go into the newer softbox for this newer life this is the newer 160 LED everything comes in a nice little soft package for portability looks like we have it on now and then there is this strap that you wrap that around and tighten it on see this is full so this is with without with let's try without the light so this is without a night this is now with the light it's actually very soft light so that's really nice okay I like it actually stays on there pretty firm with that velcro strap this is myth out you're gonna see that hard shadow in the back there you go the newer softbox light so I don't know if you saw that but that light just fell so maybe not as sturdy I might need to do something to make a little more sturdy so these lights do not fall and break so let's get into here we have this tripod and then here we have the vaster phone mount product model c4 mobile so here it has a mount on the bottom it will just screw right into the tripod and then it has the mount for your phone that you can unscrew it looks like you unscrew it and then you can clamp your phone in so here my phone keeps going this is a note 5 so it is a pretty big phone awesome that fits in just fine and then I can just screw it and clamp it together so then I can mount my phone and we can look at videos like this or I can just simply turn this part and then mount my phone so it is in landscape mode then to attach this right on to a tripod I can just pull off the top piece of the tripod I can just screw the bottom of the tripod to get that sweet so I can see how like it's got a handle on it whoa I can hang it upside down that's pretty cool okay set it right here lots of little latches I can tighten like that ah so there's the amazonbasics 60-inch lightweight tripod with back so that is very lightweight alright those are all the products that I had today for my new YouTube starter kit setup so if you want this lighting make sure you check out the description below all the products will be there if you click those links they are affiliate links
