iOS 17.5.1 vs iOS 17.5 - Looking GOOD

**Comparing iOS 17.5 and iOS 17.5 Point1: A Performance Review**

The latest update to iOS, iOS 17.5 point1, has been released, and it's time to put it to the test. In this article, we'll be comparing the performance of iOS 17.5 with its newer counterpart, iOS 17.5 point1, using a combination of benchmarking tests and real-world usage.

**Single Core Performance**

One of the first things we noticed when testing iOS 17.5 was its single core score. The device scored an impressive 2,995 in our benchmarks, which is a significant improvement over the original iOS 17.5 release that scored 2,991. This indicates that the newer update has made notable strides in optimizing performance.

However, we also ran a multicore performance test to see how the new update stacks up against its predecessor. The results were even more impressive, with iOS 17.5 point1 scoring an average of 7,364 compared to the original release's score of 7,081. This represents a significant increase in multicore performance, which suggests that the newer update has made substantial improvements.

**Wi-Fi Performance**

One of the issues reported by users with iOS 17.5 was poor Wi-Fi connection or complete dropped connections. We decided to put this to the test and connect both iPhones to the same network in our studio. Our initial results showed a download speed of around 237 megabytes per second for iOS 17.5, which is lower than expected.

However, we ran a similar test on iOS 17.5 point1, and the results were more promising. The device achieved a download speed of 242 megabytes per second, with occasional dips below 240 megabytes per second. While this isn't significantly faster than the original release, it's clear that the newer update has made some improvements in Wi-Fi performance.

**Battery Performance**

Battery life is always a concern when it comes to iOS updates. We decided to put our iPhones through their paces and see how long they last on a charge. After 24 hours of usage, we were pleased to find that both devices had retained around 47% of their battery life.

We left YouTube running in the background for several hours, simulating real-world usage patterns, and found that the battery life was still impressive despite the extended screen time. While this is just a snapshot in time, our initial results suggest that iOS 17.5 point1 has made some improvements in battery performance.

**Conclusion**

Our review of iOS 17.5 point1 suggests that Apple has made significant strides in optimizing performance and improving overall user experience. The single core score improvement and multicore performance gains indicate a substantial increase in processing power, which should benefit users with demanding tasks such as gaming and video editing.

While Wi-Fi performance is still an issue for some users, the results from our tests suggest that the newer update has made some improvements. Battery life also appears to be improved, which is great news for users who struggle with running out of juice mid-day.

Overall, iOS 17.5 point1 seems like a solid update, and we're excited to see how it will hold up in real-world usage over time. We'll continue to monitor the performance and provide updates as more data becomes available.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys in today's video we're going to be comparing iOS 17.5 versus iOS 17.5 point1 of the latest release now iOS 17.5 was pled with a few issues there was issues with poor battery performance there was also reports of WiFi issues on iOS 17.5 which I've encountered myself and of course one of the bigger issues reported was that old deleted photos would resurface on an iPhone after updating to iOS 17.5 and 17.5 5.1 aimed to address this issue as you can see right there but aside from the issue that apple is fixing here the bug that would cause old deleted photos to reappear Apple also mentions that this update provides important bug fixes so which bug fixes are we talking about here Apple did not specify so we're going to run a few benchmarks we're going to run a few Wi-Fi tests and we're going to talk about the batteries so let's go ahead and Dive Right In so the iPhone on the right is running iOS 17.5 let's go into settings let's go under General about and show you 17.5 there it is on this iPhone 15 Pro Max and this device on the right is running iOS the latest 17.5 point1 so let's go into General about and there it is 17.5 point1 on this iPhone 15 Pro Max now the first thing I want to do is run a few benchmarks to see that single core and multicore and see how the performance is doing on both of these devices as you can see right there 17.5 17.5 point1 both are iPhone 15 Pro Maxes let's go in here and run the test simultaneously to see which one performs better on single core and multicore and see what those numbers look like so I'll be right back after the test has been completed okay so the test has completed it looks like iOS 17.5 point1 actually finished the test slightly quicker by a few seconds as you just saw there and the single core score as you can see right here iOS 17.5 point1 scored 2955 17.5 single core score 2,99 and now in the multicore performance take a look at the difference on these numbers so the iOS 17.5 previous update was 7,081 take a look at the latest 17.5 point1 7,364 so that is a major difference in terms of multi-core performance and there's the numbers right there that is the version number 17.5 versus 17.5 point1 both are going to be iPhone 15 Pro Maxes so it looks like iOS 17.5 point1 actually out performed by quite a bit 17.5 in the CPU performance test so next I want to talk about Wi-Fi performance one of the issues reported within iOS 17.5 was poor Wi-Fi connection or Wi-Fi connection completely dropping randomly from devices and I've experienced this myself so obviously I'm going to put this to the test here let's make sure that both iPhones are connected to the same network here in the studio we're going to do iOS 17.5 first and then we'll do 17.5 point1 so let's run the the Wi-Fi test here let's click go now keep in mind guys that the network here in the studio is capable of 300 to 500 megabytes download speeds so it can vary from any of those numbers so keep in mind that iOS 17.5 is running on the same network that is connected on the other iPhone running 17.5 point1 so 237 on the download side now when it comes to uploads one thing to keep in mind is that here in the studio we never go above 12 to 13 at the most if we're lucky so 11.5 or 12 is going to be the average as you can see right there for the upload side so let's go ah and run the same test here on 17.5 point1 to see what those numbers look like again keep in mind that this network is capable of 300 to 500 approximately on the download side and it looks like iOS 17.5 point1 is quickly climbing above 240 as you can see right there 242 243 250 on the download side it looks like for iOS 17.5 point1 and we're not going to worry about the upload speeds because we're not going to get anywhere above 123 but on this initial testing the numbers look pretty similar but iOS 17.5 point1 out perform slightly iOS 17.5 so initially things are looking good and I'll continue to update you guys in the next several days to see if the network is persistent on the latest update 17.5 point1 so now I want to go ahead and talk about the battery performance so battery life is just one of those things you have to test over time to provide accurate information on how the battery is performing overall now I wanted to share with you guys my initial thoughts on the battery performance a little over 24 hours after installing iOS 17.5 point1 and I have to say the first 24 hours look very very good and that is a great sign so far so take a look here at this iPhone running 17.5 point1 let's go into the battery section and let me give you a quick background or what I was doing here so I plugged in last night around 1 p.m. and I charged all the way up to 100 and I left YouTube running in the background basically all night until about 8:00 a.m. and the battery life is still above 45% so that is several hours of YouTube running in the background 15 hours of screen activity as you can see right there and I still have about 47% of battery life now keep in mind that these are just initial numbers but they look promising the battery life iOS 17.5 point1 seems to be improved obviously I'm going to have a followup video perhaps a few days later while I have more data to provide more accurate description and information in regards to how the batter is doing by the way there is a new YouTube Community poll posted on my YouTube page so you can go there and vote and provide your feedback as well on the latest 17.5 point1 and let me know how the battery is doing for you but again those numbers are looking very good very promising it looks like the battery could have been improved with this software as well and there you guys have it just a quick comparison of iOS 17.5 versus 17.5 point1 let me know what you think so far if you have already updated thank you for watching and I'll see you guys on the next one peacehey guys in today's video we're going to be
