**My Favorite Book of the Month: A Review**
I just can't get enough of books that I really love and this one is definitely my favorite state alarm book because it's just straight up all the doors. Oh, like I loved it so much! Five out of five stars are due to this author for creating a story that resonated with me on such a deep level. The last two books I read were also by the same author and they're also five-star reads. One True Love is my second favorite book by Children's Read, while Tailored Drinks is my third, and I absolutely loved it - five out of five couldn't get enough of it! One True Love is definitely a heartbreaker or novel; I feel like that's kind of all of Taylor Jenkins Reed's books - they're all kind of have a lightness to them but they all have a lot of like sadness in them as well.
**Book Review: A Little Life**
This one is about a girl named Emma and she meets her high school sweetheart, Jessie, and they get married. They were living in Massachusetts and decide to move to California so they can travel and be together, just kind of get away from their hometown and live life on their own terms. Throughout their time together, they travel extensively, documentarian work, and even get lost in the wilderness with a helicopter crash that leaves Jessie presumed dead. Emma is heartbroken and decides to move back home to Massachusetts, where she starts to rebuild her life at her parents' bookstore again. She then meets an old friend named Sam, and they start a relationship, getting engaged soon after. Just when things are going well for Emma, she gets a call that Jesse is alive and coming home.
**The Complexity of Love**
What I love about this book is how it handles the complexities of adult relationships and love. It's not just a simple love triangle, but rather an exploration of who we are as individuals and what we want from life and love. Emma is trying to figure out her identity and what she wants in life and in love, while also navigating her feelings for Jessie and Sam. This book is heartbreaking and beautiful, with Taylor Jenkins Reed tackling topics like grief, loss, and healing with such care and sensitivity. I found myself thinking deeply about my own life and relationships as I read through this story.
**Other Favorite Books by Taylor Jenkins Reid**
If you haven't already, be sure to check out the other books by Taylor Jenkins Reid that I mentioned earlier - After I Do and One True Loves are also five-star reads for me. The audiobook format is a big part of why I loved these books so much; there's something special about having an author's voice read your book. But even in print, her writing is engaging and relatable, making it easy to become invested in the characters' stories. Overall, Taylor Jenkins Reid is one of my new favorite authors, and I'm excited to dive into more of her books and explore the complex themes and emotions that she so skillfully weaves throughout her storytelling.
**Conclusion**
That's it for this month's book review; I hope you enjoyed reading about my thoughts on these amazing stories. If you've read any of these books, please let me know your own thoughts and feelings - I'd love to hear them! Be sure to give this video a thumbs up, hit subscribe, and join the conversation in the comments below. Until next time, bye!
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhello everyone today I'm here to share with you all of the books that I read in September so in September I read nine books which i think is amazing there were some books that I was planning through that I didn't get around to so as always with these wrap ups I'm gonna start with my least favorite books working up to my favorite read of the entire month so I want to talk about is your destination is on the left by Lawrence peeler this is a white contemporary book I gave it a 3 out of 5 it was honestly not that rememberable it was kind of your run-of-the-mill why a contemporary I know it sounds harsh but I've read a lot of contemporaries a lot of why I contemporary at that so it's kind of just your standard one this is all about grinning decent Rhodes who is on the move all the time with their family they're an RV family so they move from state to state from city to city a lot of weeks like those pick one city and stay there for a month and then move on and they kind of have a RV family with them of like three other RVs with their family and they could just kind of go off and travel and things like that and she actually gets into our internship at this one state I forget and she works for this internship and she has to stay there for a while it's all about her discovering herself as an artist also falling for one of her best friends that's also like kind of in the RV family and that's what the whole gist of it is about I honestly can't remember much because number one I read at the very beginning of the month number two it wasn't that rememberable so overall I'd say if you're really big on traveling and just the gist of that I would recommend this book because it's all about a family that travels a lot it was an okay one it wasn't horrible it just wasn't amazing so it kind of got a you know right smack dab in the middle a three out of five I don't want to guess by Sheree la pena this is a adult mystery thriller novel it's very very short this one is under 300 pages that's so short it is this is all about like this bed and breakfast up in the Catskill Mountains in New York and we have these different couples or friends or sometimes even people alone come to this bed-and-breakfast for the weekend all for various different types of reasons and then I ice storm happens and they're all stuck inside and they can't leave anywhere the phone lines are down they're just straight-up stuck and then a murder happens and then another murder happens so you're trying to figure out is somebody like coming in to do these or somebody is it one of the guests that is doing one of these or is it one of the guests that is doing these murders and who it's a classic whodunit novel it's very reminiscent to me of the movie clue which I love and adore so I did enjoy this one I did not guess whodunit but it wasn't like a major shock or either of whodunit it was just kind of I don't want to say your run-of-the-mill thriller mystery books because I don't read enough I think to say that but I was overall like ok with it it didn't shock me and well me it didn't under well me it was just kind of right there in the middle out of 3 out of 5 as well I'd say this is a perfect one to read consol about snow and ice so maybe save this for like December or no January probably the perfect time to read this book but I would recommend it if you're really into thrillers and mysteries because you're constantly figuring out you're constantly trying to figure out which one of these guests has ammo to do it and why and if they had backstories and things like that so overall a 3 out of 5 but I did enjoy it's different my reads are either a 4 or 5 it was a really good reading must for me in regards to what I read and how much I enjoyed them so the rest of these books I generally I genuinely really loved is the geography of lost things by Jessica Brody this is another white contemporary book another why can't every book all about traveling so in this book we follow a character named Ali and Ali has really fallen out with her dad her dad was not in her life and then her dad passes away and her dad leaves her his 1968 Firebird convertible and she cannot stand it because she knows that he put the Firebird convertible over anything this life as well as this van that he was kind of like a roadie for and she decides to sell this Firebird because her mom are really struggling with money and their housing because of her father so she sells it to somebody that lives up in the Pacific Northwest and the only problem is she cannot drive it to like get to the seller because she does not a drive stick so enter in her ex-boyfriend Niko who she is helping who is going to help her drive up the car and it becomes quit essentially a road trip book which I adore though so I really enjoyed this one this one also starts with every single chapter like her inventory like 1968 Firebird convertible and how much cash she has and anything else she gets along the way her noir ex-boyfriend decided to do like this Craigslist like trade up things and then they'll go on Craigslist and then use it trade it for something else and order do things like that so well it's really interesting in that regards as well also Ali is really big in a personality quiz so throughout this whole book there is scattered with like your ex-boyfriends trying to get into your personal life what do you do a say no no no I'm the you know it's stuff like that I really liked it it's definitely a deeper contemporary because it's all about Ali and her dad and how they had a whole relationship and about her learning about her dad and why he did the things he did and overall I do think it was kind of flawed because I don't feel like the whole relationship was fully fleshed out it was kind of left open-ended which I did in my but I kind of wanted more closure and more understanding with it but overall I enjoyed it mostly for the road trip aspect I thought it was great I thought the romance was great and I did like how it was a little bit of a deeper contemporary so I would highly recommend this if you're a ye a contemporary fan the next book I listen to and that is pride by Ibiza boy Ibiza boy is literally this a Pride and Prejudice remix and I really enjoyed it this is my first Ibiza boy book and I thought it was awesome it's definitely a spin on Pride and Prejudice which by the way I have not read I know but I've seen the movie I know that does not count but just throwing it out there it's version we have a main care of me misery and Zuri has a lot of pride for her neighborhood get one her neighborhood's called but it's her block you know she's very takes a lot of pride in it african-american boys moving across the street and they have pretty much remodeled that house completely and it's just very rich and very over-the-top and so it's these two brothers and she directs them from the start because she is they are everything they stand for everything that she's against like money and like trying to destroy her neighborhood and things like that I see the dark seas and Zuri's last name is Vanitas okay you know the Bennett's Benitez and so it's apparently you can tell it's gonna happen from there but it starts you know like a love a hate to love trope with Darius Darcy and Zuri Benitez so I really enjoyed this spoken word poetry thing that's what it's called forgive me if it's not and I loved how it was woven into here and I loved just the amount of pride Surry took in her home and what her family was and who they stood for and I just love the fact that it was about that and kind of Darius kind of changed his way so I say if you're a big pride a prejudice fan and what a different spin on it please check this out I really enjoyed it I really enjoyed the audience as well I thought it was awesome I gave it a four out of five I thought it was adorable Pride and Prejudice retelling I'm never really read of Pride and Prejudice retelling honestly and I thought this one was great I loved how it was our urban retelling of it I thought it did phenomenal at that jac stuff I have to dark reins beckoned our Blake this is the third book in these real crown series I have a video review on this book so you can click right up here to go see it I've really enjoyed this one I give it a four point two five out of five I would say I don't know if it's my favorite out of the series the either way if you're looking for a dark fantasy about three sisters they have different powers that have to kill each other to be the queen I highly check out the series it's addictive II will fly through right now fantasy it's daunting take it from me I read fantasy very slowly a lot of the times these go by so quickly you're they just awake and are Blake writes it's just very fast you can read it so I really enjoyed it I don't like I say I still don't know which one's my favorite I don't know which one is gonna be my favorite until the last book comes out speaking of why a fantasy another book I also gave a 4 point 2 5 out of 5 - is sea fire by Natalie C Parker another new-to-me author this month was great reads and also a lot of new to me authors this book is all about female pirates and it is amazing so it's about Caledonia hopefully this isn't right and her family was murdered by this family that kind of controls all of the waters and all of their lands so she decides to you know seek revenge and years later she has this all-female crew on her ship and she's very strong and powerful and then she gets a chance to earn that maybe she can exact some revenge and so she goes off just to do that and I really enjoyed this book I have been having a lot of times I told you guys this year in particular that why fantasies have not been the best term this year there has been only maybe like a handful of fantasies wife Aniston's that I've read this year that I've really enjoyed the rest were kind of just us so I was very nervous going into it but I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed it it is a fast paced book I read fantasy so I say that but I flew through this one because it was action-packed from beginning to end there was no parts where I thought it had a lot there were no parts where I was extremely bored with the only problem I have with it which I did not give it a full five out of five for honestly it's because of the romance I don't feel like the romance needed to be in there I feel like it just kind of was pulling out of literally thin air and it was just kind of presented there and I don't feel like we needed it I would just love this book it was just about girl power we don't need a man we're awesome females but other than that I really enjoyed this book I'm going to highly recommend it if you love pirates and freaking badass pirates at that this is a great book I should say after this month my faith in Y fantasy has been restored I think I just had to be a little bit more selective about which ones I pick and I'm glad I picked this one up because I really enjoyed it last three books that I read that I'm going to talk about today are all five star reads just let that sink in I don't read a lot of books five starts but these three books I just loved all of them for different reasons and I had to give it a 5 out of 5 and they're all adult contemporary like Chiclets so it's you know I don't get those out either a lot for Chiclets so yeah the first one I want to talk about it is Johnson Hazel's guy it's not dated by Christina Lauren Kushina Lauren it's two authors comprised in two Kristina and Lauren and they write predominantly adult chiclet and this one is just that this is all about Josh and Hazel who meet in college and hazel is literally just from new girl like take that character and put her in this book you will have hazel and she just makes a fool out of herself a lot friend of Josh and so they just kind of see themselves as undateable in each other's eyes and then years later after college they run in to each other again and they decide to become best friends and they decide to set each other up on blind dates and every time the date goes wrong but Josh and Hazel go grow closer and closer together and you can guess what happens from there if you are looking for a gooey gooey romantic sweet book look no farther this is just that I loved it from start to finish I thought it was adorable I thought it was sweet it was that perfect marshmallow s'mores of a book that I just crave a lot and I think this might be my favorite state alarm book because I just thought it was just straight up all the doors Oh like I loved it so much five out of five last two books are also by the same author I should mention and they're also five stars one true loss by children's read this is my second tailor drinking three book no this is my third um and I loved it five out of five couldn't get enough of it one true loves it is definitely a heartbreaker or novel I feel like that's kind of all of tailored rickets reads books is they're all kind of have a lightness to them but they all have a lot of like California so they can travel and be together and just kind of get away from their hometown and they just want to do more things so throughout like their time together they travel a lot diversity of their first wedding Jessie goes off - I think Alaska to help with the documentary and then their helicopter gets lost and Jessie is pursuing dead so obviously Emma is very heartbroken she's just can't know what to do with herself she decides to move back home to Massachusetts I believe and he picks herself up from there she starts to work at her parents bookstore again she starts to kind of enjoy her life again and then she meets a ODE I wouldn't say flame an old friend named Sam and they serve relationship and they get engaged and not soon after that she gets a call that jesse is alive and that he is coming home so obviously this book is all about which person shall I pick my new love that I just met that I really love and he embraces me for who I am or my husband that I you know fell in love with in high school that we got married we traveled together and this is what this book is all about is Emma trying to figure out who she is and what she wants and who she wants for that matter so I know it's kind of like a love triangle but it doesn't read like that at all like none of these men are like fight for me fight for me pick me pick me no it's very much more mature because they are adults in this and it's handled with grace let's just say that but if this book isn't heartbreaking and beautiful I don't know what is this book as always with her books they make me think a lot about life and a lot about my love life and decisions and things like that overall highly recommend loved it very very sad just amazing and the last book I read that was my favorite of the month as also by Taylor Jenkins read and that is after I do and I actually listened to this book and I think that maybe why is my favorite because I think I just connected with the audiobook so like on another level and this is about um oh crap I can't remember their names cousin on the book in front of me um it's about a couple that is married and they've been married for a while and they are growing out of love they just kind of resent each other like she hates him for I know the guy things Ryan I don't know what her name is let's just call her Katie I don't know it's just kind of coming all to a boiling point and they decide to not divorce but to separate for a whole year he moves out and they have no contact with each other at all for a year and in a year they decide you know let's try to work on our marriage so this basically is all about the woman I hope her name is Katie and her figuring out who she is and if she wants to be with Ryan and who she like is without Ryan and can't she survive without Ryan it's all about like again all of her books have about love and decisions with love and how to love and who to love and all those many things this book was amazing I love the audiobook made me laugh made me cry made me just like have like sheer anticipation like will they won't they it was so amazing it's safe to say that Taylor drinkin's Reed is one of my new favorite authors for sure like I need to read to more of her books and I I wouldn't be surprised I came all by that fact there you have it those are all the books I read this month quite a lot sorry for a long video but yeah the way if you have read any of these books please let me know your thoughts and feelings on them as well that we have the same feelings or do we have different ones I would love to hear if you guys enjoyed this video be sure to give it a thumbs up hit subscribe and I will see you in the next one byehello everyone today I'm here to share with you all of the books that I read in overall highly recommend loved it very very sad just amazing and the last book I read that was my favorite of the month as also by Taylor Jenkins read and that is after I do and I actually listened to this book and I think that maybe why is my favorite because I think I just connected with the audiobook so like on another level and this is about um oh crap I can't remember their names cousin on the book in front of me um it's about a couple that is married and they've been married for a while and they are growing out of love they just kind of resent each other like she hates him for I know the guy things Ryan I don't know what her name is let's just call her Katie I don't know it's just kind of coming all to a boiling point and they decide to not divorce but to separate for a whole year he moves out and they have no contact with each other at all for a year and in a year they decide you know let's try to work on our marriage so this basically is all about the woman I hope her name is Katie and her figuring out who she is and if she wants to be with Ryan and who she like is without Ryan and can't she survive without Ryan it's all about like again all of her books have about love and decisions with love and how to love and who to love and all those many things this book was amazing I love the audiobook made me laugh made me cry made me just like have like sheer anticipation like will they won't they it was so amazing it's safe to say that Taylor drinkin's Reed is one of my new favorite authors for sure like I need to read to more of her books and I I wouldn't be surprised I came all by that fact there you have it those are all the books I read this month quite a lot sorry for a long video but yeah the way if you have read any of these books please let me know
