The iPad Pro's display has been significantly improved, with a 40% decrease in bezels around the frame, resulting in a smaller, more portable device. The new display is also 20% brighter than its predecessor, making it easier to use in direct sunlight. Furthermore, Apple has introduced "ProMotion" technology, which allows the display to show a refresh rate of 120Hz. This means that when using intensive apps or games, the display can ratchet up to this higher refresh rate, creating a smoother and more fluid interface.
The iPad Pro is powered by the A10X Fusion chip, which provides improved performance compared to the A9 chip in the iPhone 7. The device handles demanding tasks with ease, launching apps quickly and providing a buttery smooth experience. While playing games or using resource-intensive software like Adobe Photoshop, the iPad Pro remains cool to the touch, indicating that it can handle these tasks without overheating.
For storage, the base model comes with 64GB of space, while higher storage options are available for those who need more room for files and apps. The camera on this device is also similar to that found on the iPhone 7, with a 12-megapixel rear camera and a 7-megapixel front camera.
In terms of software, iOS 11 will bring several features to the iPad Pro, making it an even more productive tool for users. Drag-and-drop functionality will be added, allowing content to be easily transferred between apps. A new Files app will also be introduced, providing improved content management and organization. Additionally, the dock will be revamped, with iOS suggesting apps to place on the left or right side based on usage patterns.
Finally, the iPad Pro boasts great speakers, with quad speakers placed on all four sides of the device. This creates a surround sound experience, particularly when watching videos on Netflix or YouTube. With its improved display, performance, and features, the iPad Pro is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a powerful and versatile tablet.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey everyone it's Julian from Digital Trends and we're looking at the new 10.5 in iPad Pro it's meant to replace the 9.7in iPad Pro that was released last year uh but there's still a 9.7 in iPad it's just not a pro model anymore but now between the Pro Models you have this uh 10.5 in iPad Pro and as well as a 12.9 in iPad Pro uh and that one actually also got a performance update that would match this model so they're both now the same uh the real difference is in the display size and the resolution So speaking of display uh this 10.5 form factor is actually a lot more convenient uh because you get this big display that's perfect for watching movies and videos uh but at the same time it's also still portable uh and apple sort of kept the same frame as the 9.7 in uh not the same exact frame that's a little different but it's very similar to the 9.7 in iPad Pros frame uh and that's because they uh decrease the bezels around here these edges by 40% so you have fewer bezels a little more display and that allows us to keep this uh small portable frame uh just like the 9.7 in iPad Pro but you can still get a great vibrant display and speaking of vibrant displays this display is now 20% brighter than the previous offering and that's great because now this is even more visible in uh direct sunlight and as you can see it's still just as colorful and vibrant as ever before but there's also something going on here uh in this display technology and Apple has introduced this thing called promotion technology now promotion technology uh basically allows the display to show a refresh rate of 120 htz and the refresh rate is when how many images you're seeing per second and so being able to see 120 images per second means that uh things are just going to seem a lot more fluid and smoother as you scroll through or use intensive apps and games uh now for example the good thing though is that it's variable so uh right now on this static screen right here we're probably seeing uh 24 HZ so a lot less so that we're not using up so much battery when we're just looking at a static screen but say jump into Apple news and say if I'm scrolling or for example if I'm playing a game then it's going to ratchet it up to 12 120 htz or whatever the developer uh asks for and that's great because then it's you know only consuming battery life when you really need uh the 120 HZ and the good thing is that now you're getting this much more smoother interface uh or at least it's much more easier to see uh everything that's going on and this is especially useful for uh when you're playing games for example or even when you're using software like Affinity photo and then you can basically see things move around a lot better and it just creates a much more fluid experience the iPad Pro is powered by the 8810x fusion and the iPhone 7 has the 810 Fusion uh so there's a little X now and basically what that means it's going to be performing better than your iPhone 7 and that's great because as you can see we hardly have any issues and performance here everything is buttery smooth apps launch instantly and as you can see here it moves really fluidly and you know this is not too intensive of a game but we've tried a variety a number of games and we still haven't had any issues at most after playing a few games it got a little warm but basically uh you won't really have any performance issues on this device apple offers now 64 gigs for the base storage uh but there are higher options that you'll have to pay more for if you want uh and for the camera on this device you get the same camera as the iPhone 7 uh so 12 megapixel on the rear and 7 megapixel on the front and they're really great cameras we don't think you really need that great cameras for a tablet but it's nice to have as an option uh especially because in iOS 11 you'll be able to take uh scan documents with the notes app speaking of iOS 11 there's a lot more features that will be coming to the iPad that will make this much more of a productivity tablet uh for example drag and drop is something that'll be coming and you'll be able to drag content from one app to another uh there's also going to be a new files app that allows for much better content management and there's also going to be improvements to the doc as you can see here in this homepage you're going to actually get the ability to put any app here on the left side and on the right side iOS will suggest uh apps for you apps that you use more recent more frequently that aren't here already and to round it all off Apple also has great speakers on all four sides here uh basically two at the top two at the side here uh they're great they're really loud and you know they're quad speakers so you're getting the surround sound experience again great for video consent especially if you're watching Netflix or YouTube videos so that's the iPad Pro it again cost $650 and that's for the 64 gigs of storage uh it can pay more to get 256 and even a higher 512 GB storage option uh you can also get accessories like the apple pencil right here or you can get the smart keyboard that transforms your iPad Pro into a keyboard case so again that's the iPad it's available now for $650 thanks for watchinghey everyone it's Julian from Digital Trends and we're looking at the new 10.5 in
