Electric Bikes Might Be My New Thing

The Rad Runner: A Game-Changing Electric Utility Bike

This video is sponsored by Rad Power Bikes, and it features their latest electric utility bike, the Rad Runner. The bike is labeled as an electric hybrid II bike, meaning it has more power than traditional ebikes but still maintains a similar form factor. As someone who has previously been underwhelmed by electric bikes, I was eager to see how the Rad Runner would compare.

My experience with electric bikes has been mixed, and I've often found them to be lacking in terms of performance and comfort. However, after getting my hands on the Rad Runner, I was pleasantly surprised by its capabilities. The bike doesn't require a ton of effort to get moving, thanks to its powerful motor and pedal assist system. This means that you can simply hop on and go without pedaling or pushing, making it feel more like a moped than a traditional ebike.

One of the standout features of the Rad Runner is its four levels of pedal assist. This allows the bike to provide varying amounts of power as needed, making it easier to tackle hills and navigate turns. The bike's top speed is 20 miles per hour, which may not seem like a lot, but it's actually quite impressive considering the bike's weight and size. According to Rad Power Bikes, the Rad Runner should be able to travel up to 45 miles on a single charge, although I've found that I can get by with shorter distances and still have plenty of power left over.

One of the things that really stands out about the Rad Runner is its design. The bike has a low-key aesthetic that wouldn't give away its electric nature unless you're familiar with it or look closely. This is likely due to the fact that the bike is designed to be more understated and practical rather than flashy and attention-grabbing. Despite this, the bike still manages to pack in a lot of tech features, including an LED display that shows essential information like battery charge level and pedal assist level.

Another feature that I appreciate about the Rad Runner is its passenger package. This allows you to have a passenger along for the ride without sacrificing comfort or safety. The bike comes with adjustable seats and handlebars, making it easy to accommodate riders of all sizes. I've found that this feature has been a game-changer for my own riding experiences, as I can now take friends and family on longer rides without having to worry about their comfort or safety.

So, who is the Rad Runner best suited for? In short, anyone who doesn't need to commute long distances or drive aggressively would be a great fit. The bike is perfect for running quick errands or getting from point A to point B if it's not too far away. However, with its range and top speed, it can also handle longer trips and more challenging terrain.

As someone who has owned and ridden many electric bikes in the past, I can confidently say that the Rad Runner is one of the most comfortable and convenient bikes I've ever had the pleasure of riding. Its design, features, and overall performance make it an excellent choice for anyone looking to upgrade their daily commute or just enjoy some fun rides around town.

In terms of price, the Rad Runner may seem like a lot at first glance – $1,300 is certainly not a small investment. However, when you compare it to other ebikes in its class, it's actually quite affordable. In fact, I've seen electric scooters that cost just as much or more, and they often don't offer the same level of comfort, practicality, or performance as the Rad Runner.

Overall, I'm thoroughly impressed with the Rad Runner, and I think it could be one of those bikes that you use very often and get a lot of value out of. Its combination of power, comfort, and convenience makes it an excellent choice for anyone looking to upgrade their daily commute or just enjoy some fun rides around town.
