The Test of a High-Performance M340i Conversion Kit

I recently had the opportunity to test out a high-performance conversion kit for my M340i, and I was blown away by its simplicity. The process involved installing an adapter that plugged into the OBD port, connecting it to my phone, making some simple entries, such as choosing the downpipe type and bubble configuration, and pressing enter. Within 30 seconds, my car was tuned, and it performed like a dream. I had also installed the AMP performance carbon fiber interior kit, which is both beautiful and functional. Additionally, I opted for an optional extra feature - a steering wheel inlay.

The Conversion Kit's Performance

I compared my M340i's performance to that of another owner who had invested 1,500 euros in a custom tune for their car. To our surprise, my car was quicker than the modified vehicle. The new exhaust system and engine tuning combination made a significant difference. I also installed an XHP Stage 2 kit, which further improved the performance.

The Exhaust System

One of the standout features of the conversion kit was its exhaust system. It came with a mid-pipe that produced a lovely sound, even in Comfort mode. The sound was pleasant and not intrusive to anyone around me or within the car. When I switched to Sport mode, the exhaust note transformed into a sweet growl that I found particularly appealing. The mid-pipe was priced at 980 euros, which is significantly less than a full exhaust system.

The Gearbox

Another notable aspect of the conversion kit was its impact on the gearbox's performance. With the new engine tuning and exhaust system, the Snappy gearbox was transformed into a true powerhouse. I found it to be incredibly responsive and enjoyable to drive. The combination of these two components made for an incredible driving experience.

Cornering and Braking

The KW suspension also played a significant role in enhancing the M340i's cornering capabilities. The car became much more dynamic, allowing me to take corners with confidence and precision. Additionally, the performance brakes were able to handle high speeds without losing traction or feeling unstable.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I was thoroughly impressed by the performance conversion kit for my M340i. The simplicity of the installation process belied the incredible results. From the AMP carbon fiber interior kit to the XHP Stage 2 engine tuning and exhaust system, every component worked together seamlessly to create a truly exceptional driving experience.

done with it I've modded it with nearly 13k of options which is quite a lot maybe a few people would say just get the M3 touring but the gap between the performance of this and an M3 is very very small so I look at it that way so just see this as the ultimate collection of mods for m340i and just pick what you like that's how I see my car like a demonstrator basically so first off I think the most expensive mode I've changed the brakes to the m performance big brake kit these are absolutely massive we've installed them ourselves which was quite a lot of work because it is such a complete set you change everything so even the sensors handbrake Motors the dust guards everything it's unbelievable what you get when you order that set it is super expensive it's over 3 000 Euros and if you haven't done at the BMW dealership it will be super expensive because it's about five six hours of Labor and they also have to code the brakes for the ABS because we have a bigger brake disc this is a 374 mil at the front and I think a 350 for at the rear that used to be the the front disc with the original and three four TI brakes at so an M3 has a 380 disc is nearly that it's just six mils short of M3 levels of performance but you can really see that it's a massive caliper four piston caliper you have these dimpled brake discs so it's not a ventilated drilled brake disc like with the M3 but this is like a semi solution uh I really like the look of them and the performance is just awesome what I also did is install the LCI mirror cap now the lcis aren't made in cerium gray but I had them painted in serum grit we only use OEM parts and everything is available at our shop I'll just open our DOT shop go have a look in the description if you like one of these malts and here we have the rear disc as you can see also quite massive new caliper and you can only get these big brake kits with red calipers so that's how you know even though with the LCI models you nowadays can get red brake calipers as well so you can choose blue red or black I think so at the rear we have a completely new exhaust just the exhaust tips are the same as is the back box so we use the stock back box like we do with my M3 really like that setup we've changed the downpipe we've changed the mid pipe so it's an OPF delete solution and I really like the sound we currently have it's super sweet it's super comfortable in Comfort mode really quiet and in sport mode it just sounds so good let's have a look under the bonnet so here we have the inventory air intake super awesome mold for the m340i you just have more airflow you get a little performance game you have this Fantastic look under the bullet and an amazing turbo-ish sound where you let off the throttle you hear it spool up you get all these little amazing sounds with the inventory intake and it's just a piece of art and the development they do over at inventory is just amazing and the big news is also that this is a 2020 model this is a July 2020 which was the first year that BMW used the all-new Bosch ECU which was unbreakable but femto Evo they have succeeded at that they also unlock my M3 and they have now also unlocked my m34 ti so thanks to them and we used mhd for the tune so what's also new are these little switches right here which are from the KW V3 suspension kit we've installed uh well car rack has installed it because they are the true experts here in the Netherlands when it comes to KW sets they have so much experience installing and setting these up the distributor also was in on this project and I really have to thank both of them because well not only does it look a little better I mean it's so much lower Now with uh the kwv3 it also drives a lot better it's way more Dynamic way more sharp a lot more playful really like it and the entire wheel is just so snug into the wheel well it's uh a fantastic look if you ask me so they are fully adjustable uh over there with those little switches I could adjust the rebound and I can also adjust the compression With A Little Wheel at the bottom of the spring the ride height you can adjust spring rate it's uh incredible same goes for the rear axle you can really play around with it you have these little clicks by which you can adjust the suspension and even one click you can really notice so yeah it's really fun to play around with that if you do like a track there you can really adjust it so you can get the best lap times and stuff I currently really have like a street set up a bit more on the softer side but I really like how it turned out we that's the load of cars you know right a lot of BMWs and we've noticed that the mhd software has always been really really good with the cars we tested so I thought this is too good to be true a 500 euro tune for my own car that works like a 1500 custom tune but just let's test it and I installed it to my car it's really simple I was like wow how is this possible you just get an adapter that also get these alcatar knee pads this little part right here this this I also went for the optional extra steering wheel inlay and the matte carbon fiber shift panels and the shift pedals are now connected to an h-speed ZF gearbox which with a stork m340i is just a bit too slow for me compared to an M3 but we installed xhp stage 2 and that is just the sweets bolt for these gearboxes it is such a Snappy gearbox now it makes such a big difference okay so the exhaust Comfort mode already quite a nice sound really quiet but if we put it into sport mode there we go there's that mid pipe with its I call it sound and through mhd you can play around with pops and cracks and stuff like that I'm not really into that so I did a little crackle tune so sometimes you get a few crackles and that's it I like it that way I'm a bit old school so let's start in Comfort mode so you guys can check out the sound of that mid pipe when you're just cruising along with the family like you would with an m34 GI touring oh manual mode there we go yeah so this is it in Comfort mode Let's close this up so you hear a little of that injury air intake oh lovely sound but they're not obnoxious or intrusive to anyone not people around me nor people in the car it's just a really Pleasant car you would go what the hell is he doing you would take on a holiday or something but if you turn it to sport mode let's open her up you got this lovely b-58 growl that is just super sweet I really prefer the sound of this car to my M3 so b58 it has a magical sound but you just need a downpipe and like a mid-pipe or a complete exhaust system to really get that sound out I mean this mid-pipe we sell it for 980 Euros you get a bit of a discount if you go for a downpipe as well and it's way cheaper than like a full exhaust so yeah I think it's an incredible offer and oh that gearbox the combination of the exhaust setup and that Snappy gearbox is just super nice and it's really cool to see that all these modes like blend in together and they sort of amplify each other really like that so performance we should have like 470 horsepower right now and this is a bit lighter than an M3 touring so I guess they're about as fast but we'll do like a comparison video in the future I promise you guys let's do a launch control run so that's zero to a hundred in 3.7 seconds that is amazing and oh the cornering speeds and the cornering fun you have with this car with the new KW set really is unlike a normal m340i if you drive the sedan the saloon and the touring of the m34 GI you really notice that the sedan is really a more Dynamic car and the touring is a bit softer and of course it's also quite a lot happier but with this KW set you really have that sharp drivability you want from one of these cars I really thought about getting an M3 touring but for me honestly this car is more fun I decided to put that money into this and I don't regret it oh what a that Snappy gearbox really does it for me the exhaust as well as I said it all like Blends in together and it's the suspension It's the reaction to the pedal it's breaking for a corner you feel those big brake discs and calipers turn in there's the KW there's the xhb you get the power from mhd this is unlike the stock car the the stock car the m340i it's an empty sheet and you should make something beautiful of it and I think I have man I
