The Experience with the BMW M5 CS: A Test of Speed and Performance

As I stepped into the BMW M5 CS, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. The car's performance capabilities had been touted as exceptional, with some reports suggesting that it could reach speeds of over 300 km/h. But how did it perform in real-world conditions? I decided to put it through its paces on the track, testing its limits and pushing it to see what it was truly capable of.

As we began our first test, I couldn't help but feel a sense of respect for the car's abilities. With its massive 4.4-liter V8 engine producing 630 horsepower, this was a car that was designed to deliver. And deliver it did, with the M5 CS quickly taking the lead as we hurtled down the track. The acceleration was seamless, and I found myself grinning from ear to ear as I took each successive turn.

But just when I thought things couldn't get any better, another car appeared on the scene - a rival M5 model that had been modified for extreme performance. This car was a beast, with its own 4.4-liter V8 engine producing an astonishing 700 horsepower. The two cars faced off, with the M5 CS taking the early lead as we hurtled towards the finish line.

As we approached the half-mile mark, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at what these two cars were capable of. But just when it seemed like the M5 CS had secured victory, its rival surged ahead, leaving me wondering if I had misjudged things entirely. In the end, however, the M5 CS emerged victorious, crossing the finish line with a blistering pace that left the competition in the dust.

But what about the top speed? Could this car really reach the incredible speeds that some reports had suggested? I was determined to find out, so we set off on another rolling test - this time, with the M5 CS in gear and manual mode. As we picked up speed, I couldn't help but feel a sense of trepidation - what would happen when the car hit its top speed?

The answer, it seemed, was that the M5 CS had reached its theoretical maximum speed. With the engine screaming at 4,500 rpm, the car slowed to a stop just shy of 265 km/h - an astonishing pace for a production car. It was clear, however, that this was not what the car's manufacturer had intended - the M5 CS had been fitted with a performance upgrade that allowed it to reach speeds far beyond its official top speed.

In the end, I was left wondering whether I had somehow managed to squeeze out more power from the car than anyone else. But as I reflected on my experience, one thing became clear: this was a car that was truly exceptional - and one that would stop at nothing to deliver unparalleled performance.

But it's not just about raw speed - sometimes, brakes can be just as important as acceleration when it comes to safety. That's why we decided to run another test - a brake test - with all three cars lined up at the starting line. The car that could bring the pack together with its powerful brakes would win.

The M5 CS was fitted with carbon-ceramic brakes, while the other two cars had standard steel brakes. As I took off down the track, I felt a sense of trepidation as I approached each successive turn - but the M5 CS quickly demonstrated that it could bring its competitors to life. With each brake test, however, it became clear that this was more than just a test of raw braking power - it was also about understanding how different types of brakes perform in real-world conditions.

Despite what seemed like an advantage on paper, I couldn't help but be surprised by the results of our brake test. It turned out that the M5 CS's carbon-ceramic brakes performed admirably well, stopping almost as quickly as their competitors - even if they didn't quite have the same level of fade resistance.

Finally, I had to share some disappointing news with one of my viewers - a car that had been purchased by John for its exceptional performance was found not to be so exceptional after all. The test revealed that it did not actually possess the performance upgrades claimed on it by BMW and thus could be classed as defective.

As I wrapped up our time on the track, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the experience - and excited about what other adventures awaited us in the world of high-performance cars.

going to have a drag race to see what is the difference between these cars in terms of their performance because they are very similar but have some key differences so they all have 4.4 L twin turbo V8s now in this M8 and the normal M5 competition they put out 625 horsepower and 750 newm of torque however in the m5cs the power output is up to 635 horsepower they still got the same 750 NM of torque they also have the same four-wheel drive system 8-speed automatic gearboxes with torque converters and launch control they all have the ability to decouple the front axle so you can put them in rear wheel drive mode and they're all extremely quick and expensive though there are some price differences so the normal M5 competition costs £14,000 this M8 Grand Coupe competition thingy it costs £14,000 but that m5cs it's a lot more expensive it's £140,000 now for that you do get some lightweight Parts you see that car weighs in a just over 1.8 tons whereas the normal M5 competition weighs just under 1.9 tons and this is the heavy one this weighs just under 2 tons now this particular car has been lent to me by a viewer and if you want to lend us your car to have them featured in a drag pack which basically increases the top speed to 190 M hour though he's never been able to vouch that because he's never even been up to 155 mph let alone 190 now the m5cs has that fitted to standard but that M5 comp over there doesn't have it but it'll be interesting to see what happens in the rolling race see if this really is fitted with that system or not now before we race please make sure going to go to the normal M5 comp did you have a problem with that it bugged a little bit but it wasn't too much of a problem it was a good enough launch it just can't keep up with you too yeah know I think you just beat me off the line but then you started to like Gap me didn't you this car is mad is so so fast it is a noticeable upgrade isn't it don't you think huge difference would you pay that extra 40 grand for that extra performance no I just get someone to remap it for about 10 bags and then save 30 bags and you'd wrap it in rose gold as well right so then what exactly happened well the M5 cs1 completing the standing quarter mile in 10.9 seconds the M8 competition took 11.3 seconds and the M5 competition was last finishing in 12.7 seconds actually the best time we've had out an M5 competition was 11.1 seconds now we're going have a rolling race the cars are in automatic mode and all the Comfort settings uh this is in kilm an hour so I think it's going to be about 80 km an hour right I'm going to count it in ready 3 2 1 go kick down was good in this that m5's dropped goodbye goodbye goodbye my friend I'm slowing down the B God the smash my wing Mir off my car okay we're going to that race again I just want to say a quick prayer for the bird poor bird makes me feel a bit sad anyway The Show Must Go On in honor of the bird let's do this I'm going to count this in get don't know that I did let's go to the mile will this car be able to go past 260 km which will be 155 mph has it got this speed limited res restriction removed I don't believe it has that topped out 264 km an hour I think I need to report that to the owner okay so YY what top speed did you have I want to say around 160 but I'm not 100% sure okay right so this car seemed to hit a limiter at um well 264 km an hour but it's supposed to have the performance upgrade where it will do like way above that like 300 km an hour 190 mph let's do another rolling race but this time in gear and we'll keep on going okay see what these cars will do now we're going to do another rolling race from 50 mph and I've got my units in Miles hour as well so we'll see the top speed of this car exactly sports mode for everything manual mode for the gearbox here we go you ready guys 3 2 1 go the way this pulls on the normal M5 comp and then the m56 just is ahead it's just gapping totally beat me to the half mile what's it going to be like at the mile and what will this car's top speed be 15500 oh look it's doing it oh no it's topped out 164 huh it doesn't do 90 Mi it stops 164 what's all that about I think that was pretty conclusive the m5cs is definitely quicker and the M5 competition is definitely the slowest as simple as that got to 175 not bad mine hit a wall at 164 so I don't understand I I don't think this has got the um D restriction sorry John bit bad news for you mate probably want to go speak to your dealer now we're going to do a break test but if you don't watch this and you'd
