Audi S3 vs RS4 B7 - DRAG & ROLLING RACE! Can a 2.0 Turbo Auto beat a 4.2 V8 Manual from 2008
The Great Audi Drag Race: A Tale of Two Engines
As I stood next to my Audi S3 and its opponent, the B7 RS4, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. The S3 was equipped with a 2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that produced 310 horsepower, while the B7 RS4 boasted a massive 4.2 liter V8 that cranked out an impressive 420 horsepower. Both cars were also equipped with Quattro all-wheel drive, making them formidable opponents on the track.
Before we began our drag race, I made sure to remind my viewers to subscribe to this channel and click the bell icon to turn on notifications. I also encouraged them to check us out on Instagram at Carlile Cars for some behind-the-scenes content. With that said, let's get ready to rumble! The crowd is cheering, and we're both revving our engines in preparation for the ultimate showdown.
The starting lights flashed green, and we were off. The S3 took an early lead, thanks in no small part to its advanced launch control system. But as soon as we hit top speed, it became clear that the B7 RS4 was not going down without a fight. Despite being slower on paper, the RS4's sheer power and torque allowed it to keep pace with the S3. However, it wasn't enough to overcome the S3's superior acceleration.
As we approached the quarter mile mark, I couldn't believe my eyes. The S3 was pulling away from the B7 RS4, leaving its opponent in the dust. I had expected a much closer race, especially considering the RS4's reputation as one of the quickest cars on the market back in the day. But it seems that the S3 has truly surpassed its predecessor in terms of raw power and performance.
But we're not done yet! In our second test, we decided to switch things up by conducting a rolling race from 50 miles per hour. We both shifted into third gear and prepared for the test. The B7 RS4 took off surprisingly quickly, thanks to its naturally aspirated engine producing more torque than I expected. Meanwhile, my S3 struggled to keep pace, its turbocharged engine taking a bit of time to get up to speed.
As we sped down the track, I could feel the difference between our two engines. The B7 RS4 was making good progress, but it couldn't quite keep up with the S3's acceleration. In fact, after about 30 seconds, the S3 had pulled ahead and was looking like a solid winner in this rolling race as well.
In the end, both cars were incredibly close, but my S3 managed to edge out its opponent by a hair. It was clear that the B7 RS4's natural aspirated engine produced less torque than the S3's turbocharged engine, which ultimately gave it an advantage on the track. As for me, I couldn't help but feel proud of how well my S3 performed against such a formidable opponent.
And there you have it! The results are in, and both cars put on an impressive show. If you enjoyed this video, please like it, comment on it, and share it with your friends.
