The paint on my ZL1 1LE was worse than I thought...
The Art of Coating and Upkeep: A Journey to Bringing Out the Best in a Vehicle
We've made it big, huge mess and we're gonna go and clean that up, we're gonna pull it outside, we're gonna call this our after correction wash so we're gonna clean this up after it's all cleaned. We're gonna do front and back sides of wheels, we're going to decrease tires, we're gonna scrub off old tire dressing, we're gonna prep and crannies. We're gonna have everything clean.
For me, I'm not gonna lie for me, it already looks done like this is better than it looked the day I bought it and it was a showroom car. It was inside the showroom and it never looked this good. Even in this lighting, so tell me what you did after you washed it and then what our next step is.
So, like you said we did the phone bath. We blew everything dry with the leaf blower that's the thing you didn't touch it with that with a pad or a mitt or no because after that major overcorrection you don't want to risk you know kind of dry wiping an area or put more marring in the paint or rub it in a little bit of dust. So we blow it dry and then try to be as careful as possible getting it into the final polishing stage.
We wiped off all the final polish after that, we did an alcohol wipe. The purpose of that is to strip out any polishing oils because when we apply our Modesta paint coating we want that to specifically bond to pure paint. Okay so now we're doing the ceramic coating which is obviously a topcoat. It's a it's a very hard coat that's gonna be resistant to scratching and and stuff like that right.
It is gonna help out with the self-cleaning effect so if the car's got some light debris on it and you pressure wash it and foam gun it the self-cleaning capabilities do help that come clean versus if it was stuck to the paint and then you put a mitt on it. It does help resist scratches by being able to use a leaf blower or some sort of air some sort of forced air to dry the vehicle because of their hydrogen creating the best-case scenario of not having to touch that mark does it create a deeper shine.
It does create a lot deeper shine as you're gonna get better than this right? Yeah and that shine is gonna cure over the next couple days we're gonna put our infrared lamp on it we're gonna bake it and that is going to increase the gloss as well as increase the hydrophobic and hydrophilic capabilities of the vehicle.
So, okay so what about the upkeep then tell me tell me about that. This is Modesta BC 0-8 so it's a three-year coating so once every three months we're gonna want to do the Modesta conditioner which I've shown you before so we're gonna bring that in. We're gonna do a decontamination wash we're going to apply the conditioner which keeps cleanses the coating keeps the water beating really tight.
I'm gonna tell you right now my car has never looked this good even when I was brand new, I might have said it earlier I forgot we've been here for three days but it's one of those things where it was a deal, it was a car inside of the dealership showroom had people brushing up against it walking past it Detailers coming in and just kind of wiping it down so it had some scratches and blemishes from the factory. It's one of those things now I only want to say it looks like new because for this particular car it's better than it's ever looked since I've had the car brand new off the showroom floor.
All right, so if you guys want to learn more about this process and you want to talk to Chris he's in Southern California and his shop is located in Rancho Cucamonga but you also do detail work on a mobile site as well. So you do your mobile setup, I'm gonna put all his information in the description below. Chris, thank you very much for making this thing look new, I'ma tell you right now you've been bugging me he had a cars & coffee event and I used to go to new was always like Jay we were gonna do your ride we're gonna do your ride it's a track car there's no point. We finally blew holes in that rap as we fixed obviously and I just thought to myself dude my car's already got so much contamination what's the point don't think that your car's beyond repair in terms of paint and correction because this guy just worked a miracle.
So, thanks again man burn go ahead let you guys can take a look at some fantastic b-roll of how this turned out and once again we will see you in the next one.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up guys geez two cents here we're gonna do some car content but not high horsepower not mods not racing we're talking about keeping your ride looking good we're gonna do that today a detail to you tired of all the extra cables in your system well Franco has you covered with their new ion family power supplies available in a variety of sizes and wattages including sfx the ion family of power supplies from fractal has what you need for clutter free reliability to learn more click the link in the description below so my Camaro zl1 when Olie is a 20-18 it's got eighteen thousand two hundred loved miles on it we're talking track we're talking desert just I've not been kind to the car and I wanted to protect it but it's time to kind of take off the X pail that's on there we're gonna put Llumar on there we'll talk about why we went with a different brand as we kind of move forward with the video but I'm gonna go ahead and let Chris's guys who the professionals do this because I'm not a professional I would totally screw this up so let's go ahead and go out to the shop and show you guys what we're gonna do so this job is gonna be a little bit different than if you brought them a fresh car either off the lot or a car that doesn't have any PPF or anything on there yet you're gonna hear me say PPF a lot that stands for paint protection film but this is my 20 1801 right here we're not gonna talk about performance or specs that's a whole different video because of the amount of work that's done to this car however if you come and look closely though it does have an expo in here X pel is a type of paint protection film there's a lot of different brands out there I got it put on pretty quickly and hastily when I first bought the car because I broke this thing in on track so I wanted to protect the paint as quickly as I could you can kind of see here we've got some really ugly seams that dirt has sort of made its way in one of the things that chris says he dikes to do with his particular paint protection film is sort of alter the template a little bit so he moves these seams to a place that kind of naturally follows a body line rather than having this ugly one here but we've got some holes where track debris rocks tires even pieces of steel belt because some people like to run their tires down to the belt on track have actually punctured through this wrap so one of the things I'm kind of curious as to how this is gonna look underneath because if we look down low here if you're not the guy out front anyways you're gonna get some some holes blown in your ship so as you can see right here this is probably the worst piece of damage I have it's gone all the way through the ex pill all the way through the paint down to the primer which is a black primer under this summit light kind of interesting right black primer white car but whatever so we're gonna find some of those throughout the car so I'm not it's not gonna look a hundred percent perfect because the car is not a percent perfect underneath the wrap we've got matte black parts on this car and we've got obviously gloss Summit white parts but the black wrap that comes on the 1le is just a cheap vinyl wrap they put on at the factory mine starting to even come unraveled at the back of the hood but as you can see I've got holes just all peppered all over this we've got some scratches from rubber heating it and kind of sliding along the car here's a good one right here so if you've never been on track there's a lot of what's called marbles that are picked up on the track they're just pieces of rubber that roll off the tires get stuck to the ground and the cars in front of you pick them up and send them flying rocks rubber hot rubber gets stuck to stuff it's kind of ugly so in order to redo this wrap we've got to take off this hood insert the bottom piece the top piece is kind of a clamshell and then we're gonna be rewrapping this and eight black paint protection film you can see the side skirts or matte black that's a factory matte paint so what it is it's actually black paint with a matte clear on top of it but this does have a wrap on it too so X Pell also had a matte clear that we put on all the black parts but we're gonna be changing that today and putting an actual matte wrap over the matte parts but we're gonna be bringing the black PPF across the top of the car as well so we're gonna have black on the roof and we're also gonna have black on the shark fin this will be an actual vinyl though not a PPF because of the contours and then the trunk as well now that's not just because I like that whole black top of the car look that's also because I've got marks on top of the car and on the trunk even at the end of a track day from rubber hitting the entire top of the car so that's what we're gonna do today okay so we got a lot done on the first day and I'm standing here with Chris who's the owner to detail to you and Rancho Cucamonga so let's talk about the rap that we put on here the I keep calling it a rap it's a paint protection film or a PPF it's very different from a vinyl wrap once you start with what the difference is as we all know you track this vehicle pretty actively so the original car came with a matte black vinyl which does of course not stop rock chips we learned about a film that is actually a matte black film but it's a paint protection film meaning it will actually stop rock chips and so we decided instead of just replacing the vinyl to replace this with matte black paint protection film and so now even though it looks like factory it's actually thick enough to stop the rock it looks better than Factory because the vinyl even from day one always had a texture to it like a grain if that makes sense this is such a perfect uniform Sheen to it it does look very healthy so the matte black hood also never matched the matte black painted parts of the car it was always a totally different dull look at this before we did all the black pieces and we pulled all the existing stuff off you couldn't tell what was the paint and what was the rap or the PPF we I kept going around thinking like oh he sells to do that and all I'm like oh way it's done but it's it looks great so know what the clear part what so how do we kind of handle that because what's amazing here is the difference in terms of the seams there's there's very few seams there's no edges visible obviously you guys did an amazing job at hiding those seams which wasn't really the case before so before it was very much so like a pre-cut pattern and this is what you call bulk roll installs so this was entirely cut out by hand and this piece here was just trimmed by hand and then custom cut around the corners versus cutting it on a plotter which then you're trying to adjust the pattern and get it to fit on the fender and then stretch it to the right areas and meet all your marks which we call those absolutes but that doesn't necessarily do the cleanest install and so this was this was bulk roll installed the only thing that was done with the plotter was just the front bumper but even then the it was it was stretched and then rolled all the way to the edges so even where the seams are here you we have to look for them versus before because they go much farther to the edge than before yeah we just try to do is clean up as insults possible and that way the car has 100% protection and really you want to try and you know cover areas that are small that may still be susceptible to a rock chip you don't want to leave that area exposed no that looks really really good and at the at the risk of inflating your head at how good this install turned out so I've always been a fan of the black roof and the black trunk and all that sort of stuff and and it's one of those things where I wanted to do that and I was gonna do like a vinyl wrap or something but when you told me about the black PPF I thought that was perfect is the problem is with track if you've never if you've never been on track and experienced this you will find rubber has hit your car in areas you would never expect the top of the car and even my trunk are typically just they have streaks of rubber all over it because the car is in front of you kick it up in the air it gets caught in the air and then it will tumble over the top of the cars behind you know you and person that's in front of you and all that so now the top of the car is protected from those scratches and those things because I do have a few scratches on here from like I said pieces of metal steel belts and stuff still stuck in tires but it also added in a really pleasing aesthetic look to it too so once you go ahead and kind of walk us through what you're gonna do with the expose paint parts of the car so basically we're gonna start off with a basic prep which we're gonna clean the vehicle clay the vehicle and after we've done that we need to tape all the rubber seams off tape off the window trim tape off the PPF that we just previously installed because we last thing we want to do is actually pull up that PPF that's still so fresh so all of these edges and the mirror and around the fenders everything is going to get taped off in preparation for the paint correction so I feel like over the last couple years you've heard a lot of people talk about ceramic coating and it's hydrophobic and hydrophilic properties and people always go oh that makes it easier to dry off and clean but there's other reasons why you want to do it you kind of go real quickly into what other benefits it adds besides the cleaning aspect there's a lot of rumors or a lot of false advertising that coatings last forever or coatings are completely scratch proof or they're all these different things the coatings are slightly scratch resistant they are harder than the original clear coat but they're not scratch proof and they're not life proof they're definitely not something that you can just walk away from and say oh I don't need to maintain my car and I don't need to wash my car anymore they're definitely things that help assist you in maintaining the vehicle and it's the best protection available it's got the highest heat resistance available you don't have to polish and wax the vehicle all the time does it assist in the shininess it does increase the gloss by quite a bit especially the coating we use we use a coating called modesta from Japan and it is really probably even going to be able to notice it on camera you're drastically going to see an increase in gloss so that is one of the benefits I'm talking about hydrophobic and hydrophilic a lot of people get confused sometimes it can harm the vehicle if something is so hydrophobic that if a harsh chemical or a harsh liquid hits the vehicle and it just beads tightly then it doesn't sheet off the vehicle now you have a harmful chemical beating so there's there's minerals and stuff in there and then you've got the Sun acting that's like a lens for the Sun to just focus btv right you want to get a nice coating that actually has a little bit of both so hydrophobic is gonna be the water tightly and hydrophilic is gonna sheet the water off in fact that's one thing that we didn't even mention with the PPF and we talked about that is this does have a coating already kind of embedded into it right so does the clear have that too they both do and most films that most high quality films that you find today are actually gonna have a coating in the outer membrane as well as another thing we didn't discuss is the outer membrane of the paint protection film is also self-healing okay so and we have to be realistic when we think about self-healing it's more not self-healing for rock chip impact or Rock chip puncture yeah it's it's more self-healing for harmful washing or somebody brushing up against it while it's dirty all right so I'm gonna go ahead and let Chris start prepping the car and work his magic regarding paint correction this is something I tried to do in the past it you saw like the swirls and set there in this car I probably did it because I always wash my own car it's never been to a detailer I've tried to do like my own paint Corrections and multi-stage stuff it you see it didn't hold up it looks terrible so I'm gonna let you do it the right way and I'm gonna learn why you do it so when we go ahead let Chris do its thing and our stop first I'll stop nagging and talking to you and just just go okay so I wanted to talk to you guys a little bit about paint correction and paint correction lighting now clearly we're inside a building so there was no Sun inside this building so what we've done is we've shut off half of the lights inside the shop and I have a paint correction light here behind me which is called a scan grid so what we're trying to do is duplicate the actual light frequency of the Sun to where when we look at the car it shows us with this light behind me what you would see outside so if you look over here at the paint you can see that J's car has very many swirls and blemishes and this is all from either improper washing or the car got rubbed up against or dusted lots of things can cause these imperfections but we want to find them chase them down and remove the defects and get this car in what we call codable condition all right so it's been a couple of days since we started this now although the rap is done we've already talked about that you started all of your cutting phase or as I was referred to as a cutting phase so okay you kind of told us already with that sort of entails you've gone through it now done it on this car so once you tell me where we are and what's next okay so pretty much as you mentioned all the cutting is done on the vehicle you can see it's totally filthy there's dust just everywhere this is when you want to rub all around the paint right yeah yeah all around right now would be the perfect timing what we've done is we've removed all the defects from the paint but we've done it with an abrasive or rubbing compound in the cutting pad then so right now the paint is a lot glossy ER than it was but if we really look close it's a little bit hazy from the abrasives in the compound but there's nothing on it now and no wax no polish no nothing cuz it's all being removed but as far as right now goes we do have a little bit of oil residue and we have a little bit of haze that we're gonna go through I'm gonna switch to a foam pad and then I'm gonna polish everything out with a foam pad and a final polish and that's going to give us perfect paint as close to possible and then we're gonna continue in wiping down with alcohol and then we're gonna continue into the coating phase we've made it big huge mess and we're gonna go and clean that up we're gonna pull it outside we're gonna call this our after correction wash so we're gonna clean this up after it's all cleaned we're gonna do front and back sides of wheels we're going to decrease tires we're gonna scrub off old tire dressing we're gonna prep and crannies we're gonna have everything clean all right I'm not gonna lie for me it already looks done like this is better than it looked the day I bought it and it was a showroom car it was inside the showroom and it never looked this good and even in this lighting so tell me what you did after you washed it and then what our next step is so like you said we did the phone bath we blew everything dry with the leaf blower that's the thing you didn't touch it with that with a pad or a mitt or no because after that major overcorrection you don't want to risk you know kind of dry wiping an area or put more marring in the paint or rub it in a little bit of dust so we blow it dry and then try to be as careful as possible getting it into the final polishing stage we wiped off all the final polish after that we did an alcohol wipe the purpose to that is to strip out any polishing oils because when we apply our modesta paint coating we want that to specifically bond to pure paint okay so now we're doing the ceramic coating which is obviously a topcoat it's a it's a very hard coat that's gonna be resistant to scratching and and stuff like that right it is gonna be helped out with a little bit of scratch resistance and it does that in a couple different ways it's going to help out with the self-cleaning effect so if the car's got some light debris on it and you pressure wash it and foam gun it the self-cleaning capabilities do help that come clean versus if it was stuck to the paint and then you put a mitt on it it does help resist scratches by being able to use a leaf blower or some sort of air some sort of forced air to dry the vehicle because of their hydrogen creating the best-case scenario of not having to touch that mark does it create a deeper shine it does create a lot deeper shine as you're gonna get better than this right yeah and that shine is gonna cure over the next couple days we're gonna put our infrared lamp on it we're gonna bake it and that is going to increase the gloss as well as increase the hydrophobic and hydrophilic capabilities of the vehicle so okay so what about the upkeep then tell me tell me about that this is modesta BC 0-8 so it's a three-year coating so once every three months we're gonna want to do the modesta conditioner which I've showed you before so we're gonna bring that in we're gonna do a decontamination wash we're going to apply the conditioner which keeps cleanses the coating keeps the water beating really tight I'm gonna tell you right now my car has never that's good even when I was brand new I might have said it earlier I forgot we've been here for you know standing here with Chris who's the owner to detail to you and Rancho Cucamonga so let's talk about the rap that we put on here the I keep calling it a rap it's a paint protection film or a PPF it's very different from a vinyl wrap once you start with what the difference is as we all know you track this vehicle pretty actively so the original car came with a matte black vinyl which does of course not stop rock chips we learned about a film that is actually a matte black film but it's a paint protection film meaning it will actually stop rock chips and so we decided instead of just replacing the vinyl to replace this with matte black paint protection film and so now even though it looks like factory it's actually thick enough to stop the rock it looks better than Factory because the vinyl even from day one always had a texture to it like a grain if that makes sense this is such a perfect uniform Sheen to it it does look very healthy so the matte black hood also never matched the matte black painted parts of the car it was always a totally different dull look at this before we did all the black pieces and we pulled all the existing stuff off you couldn't tell what was the paint and what was the rap or the PPF we I kept going around thinking like oh he sells to do that and all I'm like oh way it's done but it's it looks great so know what the clear part what so how do we kind of handle that because what's amazing here is the difference in terms of the seams there's there's very few seams there's no edges visible obviously you guys did an amazing job at hiding those seams which wasn't really the case before so before it was very much so like a pre-cut pattern and this is what you call bulk roll installs so this was entirely cut out by hand and this piece here was just trimmed by hand and then custom cut around the corners versus cutting it on a plotter which then you're trying to adjust the pattern and get it to fit on the fender and then stretch it to the right areas and meet all your marks which we call those absolutes but that doesn't necessarily do the cleanest install and so this was this was bulk roll installed the only thing that was done with the plotter was just the front bumper but even then the it was it was stretched and then rolled all the way to the edges so even where the seams are here you we have to look for them versus before because they go much farther to the edge than before yeah we just try to do is clean up as insults possible and that way the car has 100% protection and really you want to try and you know cover areas that are small that may still be susceptible to a rock chip you don't want to leave that area exposed no that looks really really good and at the at the risk of inflating your head at how good this install turned out so I've always been a fan of the black roof and the black trunk and all that sort of stuff and and it's one of those things where I wanted to do that and I was gonna do like a vinyl wrap or something but when you told me about the black PPF I thought that was perfect is the problem is with track if you've never if you've never been on track and experienced this you will find rubber has hit your car in areas you would never expect the top of the car and even my trunk are typically just they have streaks of rubber all over it because the car is in front of you kick it up in the air it gets caught in the air and then it will tumble over the top of the cars behind you know you and person that's in front of you and all that so now the top of the car is protected from those scratches and those things because I do have a few scratches on here from like I said pieces of metal steel belts and stuff still stuck in tires but it also added in a really pleasing aesthetic look to it too so once you go ahead and kind of walk us through what you're gonna do with the expose paint parts of the car so basically we're gonna start off with a basic prep which we're gonna clean the vehicle clay the vehicle and after we've done that we need to tape all the rubber seams off tape off the window trim tape off the PPF that we just previously installed because we last thing we want to do is actually pull up that PPF that's still so fresh so all of these edges and the mirror and around the fenders everything is going to get taped off in preparation for the paint correction so I feel like over the last couple years you've heard a lot of people talk about ceramic coating and it's hydrophobic and hydrophilic properties and people always go oh that makes it easier to dry off and clean but there's other reasons why you want to do it you kind of go real quickly into what other benefits it adds besides the cleaning aspect there's a lot of rumors or a lot of false advertising that coatings last forever or coatings are completely scratch proof or they're all these different things the coatings are slightly scratch resistant they are harder than the original clear coat but they're not scratch proof and they're not life proof they're definitely not something that you can just walk away from and say oh I don't need to maintain my car and I don't need to wash my car anymore they're definitely things that help assist you in maintaining the vehicle and it's the best protection available it's got the highest heat resistance available you don't have to polish and wax the vehicle all the time does it assist in the shininess it does increase the gloss by quite a bit especially the coating we use we use a coating called modesta from Japan and it is really probably even going to be able to notice it on camera you're drastically going to see an increase in gloss so that is one of the benefits I'm talking about hydrophobic and hydrophilic a lot of people get confused sometimes it can harm the vehicle if something is so hydrophobic that if a harsh chemical or a harsh liquid hits the vehicle and it just beads tightly then it doesn't sheet off the vehicle now you have a harmful chemical beating so there's there's minerals and stuff in there and then you've got the Sun acting that's like a lens for the Sun to just focus btv right you want to get a nice coating that actually has a little bit of both so hydrophobic is gonna be the water tightly and hydrophilic is gonna sheet the water off in fact that's one thing that we didn't even mention with the PPF and we talked about that is this does have a coating already kind of embedded into it right so does the clear have that too they both do and most films that most high quality films that you find today are actually gonna have a coating in the outer membrane as well as another thing we didn't discuss is the outer membrane of the paint protection film is also self-healing okay so and we have to be realistic when we think about self-healing it's more not self-healing for rock chip impact or Rock chip puncture yeah it's it's more self-healing for harmful washing or somebody brushing up against it while it's dirty all right so I'm gonna go ahead and let Chris start prepping the car and work his magic regarding paint correction this is something I tried to do in the past it you saw like the swirls and set there in this car I probably did it because I always wash my own car it's never been to a detailer I've tried to do like my own paint Corrections and multi-stage stuff it you see it didn't hold up it looks terrible so I'm gonna let you do it the right way and I'm gonna learn why you do it so when we go ahead let Chris do its thing and our stop first I'll stop nagging and talking to you and just just go okay so I wanted to talk to you guys a little bit about paint correction and paint correction lighting now clearly we're inside a building so there was no Sun inside this building so what we've done is we've shut off half of the lights inside the shop and I have a paint correction light here behind me which is called a scan grid so what we're trying to do is duplicate the actual light frequency of the Sun to where when we look at the car it shows us with this light behind me what you would see outside so if you look over here at the paint you can see that J's car has very many swirls and blemishes and this is all from either improper washing or the car got rubbed up against or dusted lots of things can cause these imperfections but we want to find them chase them down and remove the defects and get this car in what we call codable condition all right so it's been a couple of days since we started this now although the rap is done we've already talked about that you started all of your cutting phase or as I was referred to as a cutting phase so okay you kind of told us already with that sort of entails you've gone through it now done it on this car so once you tell me where we are and what's next okay so pretty much as you mentioned all the cutting is done on the vehicle you can see it's totally filthy there's dust just everywhere this is when you want to rub all around the paint right yeah yeah all around right now would be the perfect timing what we've done is we've removed all the defects from the paint but we've done it with an abrasive or rubbing compound in the cutting pad then so right now the paint is a lot glossy ER than it was but if we really look close it's a little bit hazy from the abrasives in the compound but there's nothing on it now and no wax no polish no nothing cuz it's all being removed but as far as right now goes we do have a little bit of oil residue and we have a little bit of haze that we're gonna go through I'm gonna switch to a foam pad and then I'm gonna polish everything out with a foam pad and a final polish and that's going to give us perfect paint as close to possible and then we're gonna continue in wiping down with alcohol and then we're gonna continue into the coating phase we've made it big huge mess and we're gonna go and clean that up we're gonna pull it outside we're gonna call this our after correction wash so we're gonna clean this up after it's all cleaned we're gonna do front and back sides of wheels we're going to decrease tires we're gonna scrub off old tire dressing we're gonna prep and crannies we're gonna have everything clean all right I'm not gonna lie for me it already looks done like this is better than it looked the day I bought it and it was a showroom car it was inside the showroom and it never looked this good and even in this lighting so tell me what you did after you washed it and then what our next step is so like you said we did the phone bath we blew everything dry with the leaf blower that's the thing you didn't touch it with that with a pad or a mitt or no because after that major overcorrection you don't want to risk you know kind of dry wiping an area or put more marring in the paint or rub it in a little bit of dust so we blow it dry and then try to be as careful as possible getting it into the final polishing stage we wiped off all the final polish after that we did an alcohol wipe the purpose to that is to strip out any polishing oils because when we apply our modesta paint coating we want that to specifically bond to pure paint okay so now we're doing the ceramic coating which is obviously a topcoat it's a it's a very hard coat that's gonna be resistant to scratching and and stuff like that right it is gonna be helped out with a little bit of scratch resistance and it does that in a couple different ways it's going to help out with the self-cleaning effect so if the car's got some light debris on it and you pressure wash it and foam gun it the self-cleaning capabilities do help that come clean versus if it was stuck to the paint and then you put a mitt on it it does help resist scratches by being able to use a leaf blower or some sort of air some sort of forced air to dry the vehicle because of their hydrogen creating the best-case scenario of not having to touch that mark does it create a deeper shine it does create a lot deeper shine as you're gonna get better than this right yeah and that shine is gonna cure over the next couple days we're gonna put our infrared lamp on it we're gonna bake it and that is going to increase the gloss as well as increase the hydrophobic and hydrophilic capabilities of the vehicle so okay so what about the upkeep then tell me tell me about that this is modesta BC 0-8 so it's a three-year coating so once every three months we're gonna want to do the modesta conditioner which I've showed you before so we're gonna bring that in we're gonna do a decontamination wash we're going to apply the conditioner which keeps cleanses the coating keeps the water beating really tight I'm gonna tell you right now my car has never that's good even when I was brand new I might have said it earlier I forgot we've been here for you know three days but it's one of those things where it was a deal it was a car inside of the dealership showroom had people brushing up against it walking past it Detailers coming in and just kind of wiping it down so it had some scratches and blemishes from the factory and it's one of those things now I only want to say it looks like new because for this particular car it's better than it's ever looked since I've had the car brand new off the showroom floor all right so if you guys want to learn more about this process and you want to talk to Chris and get set up with your right here he's in Southern California and his shop case in Rancho Cucamonga but you also do detail work on a mobile site as well so you do your mobile setup so I'm gonna put all his information in the description below Chris thank you very much for making this thing look new i'ma tell you right now you've been bugging me he had a cars & coffee event I used to go to new was always like Jay we were gonna do your ride we're gonna do your ride it's a track car there's no point we finally blew holes to that rap as we fixed obviously and I just thought to myself dude my car's already got so much contamination what's the point don't think that your car's beyond repair in terms of paint and correction because this guy just worked a miracle so thanks again man burn go ahead let you guys can take a look at some fantastic b-roll of how this turned out and once again we will see you in the next one\n"
