What if That Was the Car I Had to Modify?
Only option, what if that was the car I had to modify, out of my top of your head, you go well, there isn't any way, there's no just there isn't any way. And then we have Kevin here who proves me wrong, who proved a lot of people wrong, because really can just use what you got and you can be creative, taking a car honestly I think when you take a commuter car like this, I think this is what people are the most creative about because the aftermarket support just isn't there. Made the coilovers work, he made the wheel and tire setup work, he made all this stuff work and I think that's amazing.
What I am surprised about though, is that people mistake this car for an E30 for a 240, all these weird comparisons, I'm like you must be blind to think these things are in the 30 only thing that the 30 is, the wing leg, we talked about before. I will say though, the shifter isn't bad it's a little spongy but it's really not bad at all, it's so weird how the whole car's like weight gets kind of thrown off because of how low it is and when you do a u-turn you feel the whole thing kind of yank you. Loved and then yank your right oh he's holding the shift futon with a hose clamp created well I can't fault him for that at least he cares about if it's tugged up or not.
Some people put the shift boot on and it's just like flying around dude for two hundred and thirty five thousand miles this thing runs so freakin smooth. It's is it a performance car no but it has a testament to Toyota reliability, utterly shocked I'm utterly shocked how well this thing runs this car can also be another example of driving a slow car fast is a little bit more fun than driving a fast car slow because when you have a car with a zillion horsepower you have to wait everywhere to get on it.
I do think it is a shame though that Toyota got rid of the legacy of the terrain, oh and the AE86 and that it was really well driving so popular. I remember when I was a little kid and I learned about the AE86 and I was like wait that's a Corolla and my image was this you know like it was not of the legend that it is today that I know of but I definitely see why they were more successful with this car because it could be sold to the masses, it makes perfect sense.
I'd like to say rest and peace to my spine, I'm utterly shocked though that this dashboard has no signs of aging no cracks no fading really anything, it looks like almost brand-new and the one spoke steering wheel even with how low this car is, this thing should be creaking and rattling everywhere and it just isn't. I'm shocked to see 40s creak and rattle my Integra creaks and rattles and has a hundred thousand miles less than this so I find that a huge testament as well to Toyota engineering.
Kevin said he wanted to do a little tiny turbo on this, basically again, that's our 20 turbo and run like five pounds of boost on it just to get the sound of you know the choo-choo and also the intercooler to show in the front. He knows it won't be that much faster but he's like you know what I'll do it just because I'm actually surprised for being a single cam, it really isn't that raspy compared to most single cams like a D series or something totally when you let off the gas to get a little bit of drone so I'll go like third and get on a little bit drone oh right the eardrum right in your ear and you're going uh just silly.
The first time I saw it, and I was like wow those gold wheels actually work oh wow kind of dancing it out kind of works. I think it's because of its boxy shape and I think the boxy shape cars are very popular for dancing out they usually have this very elongated presence and a long wheelbase kind of makes a car look lower almost like an illusion when you have that long nose and long rear, it'd give that squat essentially all right.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey what's up you guys David here and today we are in the car that is the utter proof that you can modify literally anything this is a 1991 Corolla and as you can see I'm very bouncy and that is because it's on coils it's dumped all the way to the ground oh my god the brakes are so bad oh my god he's just bouncing all over the place oh I have no bruh I have no brakes I have no bouquet oh I love the smell of burning oil in the morning this is the first generation Toyota Corolla that wasn't really had the ae86 and then all of a sudden they went to this and more of a family-friendly commuter car this tiny one Corolla belongs I buddy Kevin I met him at the GM G automotive open house and he had a park there and he was hey David I have this Corolla that I think you'll be surprised about not because it's fast because it's modified I'm like a 90s Corolla that's modified and you have this certain image of your head of what to expect but then I saw it and I was actually really shocked I was like wow it's it's pretty nice of course it's gonna be bouncy to keep the lowness I had to get a Dodger bottle right there but the interior is immaculate and it's all original it has 235 thousand miles on it and this was his family's car this was his mom's car this was the car that he spent his childhood in and he took it and then made it his own the wing on the back is from an e30 BMW the lipof front is a home depot special in the side skirts under the doors our rain gutters he bought so he took all these parts that normally would be used for really boring activities and jobs and then he made it a stylistic thing car has this beautiful red paint job Oh God have the dodge potholes everywhere ago his car has a beautiful red paint job on it the headlights are brand new essentially and so he took something that was sentimental had memories and he didn't let it go even with how high mileage it was and he was like you know what I'm gonna make it my own and it has no brakes zero I'm to the floor I'm still to the floor I'm not stopped oh yeah no breaks oh my god turn make some semi-good sound oh it really isn't that bad oh that drone okay I can you need so this car regionally came with somewhere the ballpark of like 110 120 horsepower out of the factory and so that's probably like 92 the wheels which means is probably like 50 wheel horsepower now honestly though it still feels pretty peppy at the single cam 4-cylinder and it's really not as bad as I expected the only thing is that he really has updated brakes I'm legitimately scared but like I said before the seats are original the door panel is original back seats original all of it is he has a head unit you know to plug in for an aux cable all that good stuff but I just realized that when I talk my voice is like doing the Spongebob because I'm bouncing so much speaking of that his Instagram is hi Kevin I've only driven a few Stan's cards on my channel and it's hard to review a stance car because you go oh it's lowered it on wheels now what but this I think because of its story kind of incentive it'll value it added something to and that's why I was dying to drive it stop oh that was a nice voicecrack these brakes literally remind me of a classic car kind of like double net so Ranger I drove a few years back where I just stopped like a football field away but yeah you're not gonna be winning any races in this thing but I will say it is kind of a joy to drive it is weird for me being this low to the ground though like you drive a Miata and s2000 and it still doesn't feel this low steering wheel has so much play in it I can go like this and then it turns in also had surprisingly a little bit of torque steer I was utterly shocked when I got on it and it had to work steer I will say though when you drive a car she lead for the purpose of style the nice thing about it is that I have nothing to prove and I can kind of cruise around and just enjoy my day on this lovely Georgian Bay but I will say the Bucs they're starting to get to me a little bit this make me laugh because because I feel like if you don't dodge it just right it's just like chaotic that 90s blinker click so the way I looked at this was was that the car I was brought home in / kind of grown up in was a old Chevy lumina and then hindsight that is not a very good car seats were blue the seat belts were blue oh my god it's a conspiracy all along this is why I'm obsessed with blue and the way I look at it is what if I had kept that car what if that was my only option what if that was the car I had to modify in order to enjoy cars in off the top of your head you go well there isn't any way - there's no just there isn't any way and then we have Kevin here who proves me wrong who proved a lot of people wrong that really can just use what you got and you can be creative taking a car honestly I think when you take a commuter car like this I think this is what people the most creative because the aftermarket support just isn't there made the coilovers work he made the wheel and tire setup work he made all this stuff work and I think that's amazing what I am surprised about though that people mistake this car for an e30 for a 240 all these weird comparisons I'm like you must be blind to think this things in the 30 only thing that the 30 is the wing leg we talked about before I will say though the shifter isn't bad it's a little spongy but it's really not bad at all it's so weird how the whole cars like weight gets kind of thrown off because of how low it is and when you do a u-turn you feel the whole thing kind of yank you loved and then yank your right oh he's holding the shift' futon with a hose clamp created well I can't fault him for that at least he cares about if it's tugged up or not some people put the shift boot on and it's just like flying around dude for two hundred and thirty five thousand miles this thing runs so freakin smooth is it a performance card no but it has a testament to Toyota reliability utterly shocked I'm utterly shocked how well this thing runs this car can also be another example of driving a slow car fast is a little bit more fun than driving a fast car slow because when you have a car with a zillion horsepower you have to wait everywhere to get on it and I didn't even break the speed limit I do think it is a shame though that Toyota got rid of the legacy of the terrain oh and the ae86 and that it was really well driving so popular I remember when I was a little kid and I learned about the ae86 and I was like wait that's a Corolla and my image was this you know like it was not of the legend that it is today that I know of but I definitely see why they were more successful with this car because it could be sold to the masses it makes perfect sense I'd like to say rest and peace to my spine I'm utterly shocked though that this dashboard has no signs of aging no cracks no fading really anything it looks like almost brand-new and the one spoke steering wheel even with how low this car is this thing should be creaking and rattling everywhere and it just isn't I'm shocked to 40s creak and rattle my Integra creaks and rattles and has a hundred thousand miles less than this so I find that a huge testament as well to Toyota engineering Kevin said he wanted to do a little tiny turbo on this basically again that's our 20 turbo and run like five pounds of boost on it just to get the sound of you know the choo-choo and also the intercooler to show in the front he knows it won't be that much faster but he's like you know what I'll do it just because I'm actually surprised for being a single cam it really isn't that raspy compared to most single cams like a D series or something totally when you let off the gas to get a little bit of drone so I'll go like third get on a little bit drone oh right the eardrum right in your ear and you're going uh just silly the first time I saw it and I was like wow those gold wheels actually work oh wow kind of dancing it out kind of works I think it's because of its boxy shape and I think the boxy shape cars are very popular force dancing out they usually have this very elongated presence and a long wheelbase kind of makes a car look lower almost like an illusion when you have that long nose and long rear it'd give that squat essentially all right on that note guys wanna thank everybody for stopping by and tuning in to this review of this Corolla what do you think about Kevin's conquest turned his family's car into his lovable lotta fight car let me know in the comment section below I upload every Tuesday Thursday and Saturday so make sure to drop in and hit that subscribe button and notification bell I'll see you guys next time DBZ have a wonderful day hey you want clean wheels hey use this spray on let sit for 45 seconds and turn purple berry again with water clean wheels make sure to check out www.hsn.com made by car dudes for car dudes\n"
