Christmas Decorating on a Budget: Tips and Tricks from Britney

As we approach the holiday season, many of us are looking for ways to decorate our homes without breaking the bank. In this video, Britney shares her top tips and tricks for decorating on a budget. She's joined by Katherine from "Do It On A Dime," a popular blog and YouTube channel focused on budget-friendly organizing ideas.

Britney begins by emphasizing the importance of taking stock of what you already have at home. "Reusing things you already own is of course going to be the easiest way to save money," she explains. She's been lucky enough to have a few quality items from last year that she can build upon, and she encourages her viewers to do the same.

Next, Britney shares her first tip: start shopping at the lowest price store and work your way up from there. She begins at the Dollar Tree, where she finds basic bulb ornaments, bows, tree garlands, and even cute snowflake ornaments. "The dollar store is a really good place to find gift wrapping paper, gift bags, and holiday cards," she notes. From there, she heads to My Pricey, where she scores some specialty items at great prices.

Britney's next stop is Walmart, where she finds beautiful wreaths, candles, and even pre-lit trees for under $10 each. She chooses a gorgeous large wreath that will add a touch of elegance to her dining space. From there, she heads to HomeGoods, where she scores some finishing touches, including a cute table centerpiece, decorative pillow, and a few more candles.

With all of these pieces in hand, Britney is ready to start decorating. She begins by setting up her dining space, where she adds sparkly bows from the dollar store to her decorative mirrors. "The sparkle from the catches a light from the chandelier," she notes, "and it just looks so nice in the room." She uses the centerpiece, which costs only $10, and finishes off the table with battery-powered candles and Dollar Store candlesticks.

To add some ambiance to the space, Britney uses light curtains. "You guys know I have these up year-round," she explains, "but they're especially great to have during holiday time." She strings LED lights around her windows and covers them in tulle to diffuse the light, creating a beautiful and festive atmosphere.

In another area of the house, Britney decides to use a wreath as a way to temporarily replace her wall art that didn't fit with her holiday color scheme. "Again this is something I could have made myself but probably would have cost more than just buying it," she notes. She also hangs up some pre-lit garlands and adds hooks to hang her Dollar Store stockings.

To complete the look, Britney makes a few finishing touches. She replaces her throw pillows with ones that match her color scheme and buys a blanket on sale at HomeGoods. "Another tip I have is to shop the after-Christmas sales," she explains. "That's where you're going to find the absolute best deals on Christmas decor."

Finally, Britney shares one of her favorite budget-friendly alternatives to full-size Christmas trees: mini trees! She sets up a pre-lit tree in her kitchen island, which costs under $10 and includes ornaments from the dollar store.

Overall, Britney's decorating ideas for Christmas on a budget are inspiring and affordable. Whether you're looking to save money or simply want to try something new, these tips and tricks are sure to help you create a beautiful and festive holiday space without breaking the bank.

and if you guys are new here on my channel I really hope you enjoy this video and if you do please subscribe I have a lot of other holiday videos coming up and starting in January I'm doing a whole organization series so if that's something you're interested in definitely subscribe and with all of that said let's go ahead and jump into my ideas for Holiday decorating on a budget so the first step of my process is to take stock of what I already have reusing things you already own is of course going to be the easiest way to save money so I had a few quality items from last year and I'm going to build the rest of my Decor from this so my next tip is to start shopping at the lowest price store and work your way up from there so I started at the Dollar Tree some of the best things to get there are basic bulb ornaments bows tree garlands basic stockings ornament hooks and they also had some cute snowflake ornaments I found in addition to all this the dollar store is a really good place to find gift wrapping paper gift bags and holiday cards that's definitely where I'm going to be going to get mine so after that I moved on to the next store my priced here which was Walmart I was able to find some pretty specialty items for a great price so this gorgeous large wreath it's one of the best places to find budget friendly candles and candle holders that are also good quality and their fake tree selection is great these pre-lit trees were under $10 each and I thought that was just a great deal so my last stuff for some finishing touches was HomeGoods and I found a cute table centerpiece a decorative pillow and a couple more candles so now with all of that I'm ready to start decorating so I'm starting with my dining space and the first thing I did here was I put up these sparkly bows from the dollar store and I put them on these decorative mirrors I have and they just look so pretty and the Sparkle from the catches a light from the chandelier and it just looks so nice in the room so I really like these for the table I used the centerpiece which was only $10 and I did the math on this and it would have actually cost me more to make this myself so that's why I decided to buy this instead of make it and to finish off the table I used battery powered candles I already had and Dollar Store candlesticks the last thing in this space I put the dollar store garlands I bought onto this faux tree that I already had just to make it look a little bit more festive so another quick tip for overall Ambiance of your room is to use light curtains you guys know I have these up year round but they're especially great to have during holiday time so you just string LED lights around your windows and cover them in tulle to diffuse the light and they are so gorgeous in person I have mine on light timer so they go on and off automatically in front of my couch I put together little clusters of candles along with this light up tree and for the wall space in this area I decided to use a wreath as a way to temporarily replace my wall art that didn't go with my holiday color scheme again this is something I could have made myself but probably would have cost more than just buying it moving on to the mantle area a tip for mantle Place Garland something I noticed while I was shopping is that pre-lit garlands are much more expensive so you could just make your own by wrapping a short strand of LED lights around your Garland and you have a lit up Garland that's really pretty and for the stockings I'm using hooks that I got from the dollar store and hanging up my Dollar Store stockings which I think look nice and to make my existing wall art look more festive I hung up this Joy sign in front of it and I think it just really completes the space other little finishing touches are to replace your throw pillows to match with your color scheme I bought these pillows and blanket last year right after Christmas at HomeGoods for 40% off so another tip I have is to shop the after Christmas sales and that's where you're going to find the absolute best deals on Christmas decor and lastly a budget friendly alternative to full-size Christmas trees is to just use mini trees I set this one up on our kitchen island which is right in the center of the room and it came pre-lit for under $10 and the ornaments are from the dollar store so this is my Christmas tree for about $12 so those are my ideas for today I really hope you guys enjoyed it if you did give this video a thumbs up and please subscribe if you're new here don't forget to go over
