Testing Amazon Fire 7 Tablet's Performance and Compatibility
I've been able to run this on a ton of different devices I also tried the lite version but it wouldn't even start up so the first game I'm gonna test here is Minecraft it actually runs really good on this little tablet this is the Pocket Edition and it's been optimized over the years so it does work on a lot of different devices I set up some dynamite here just to give it a little test and it's gonna bring it to pretty much a halt but as soon as the Dynamite's done we're back to playing at normal speed so mine crap is definitely playable on the new 2019 fire 7 tablet I'm not a big mobile gamer but I did find this on trending this is fury survival Z some type of zombie game and it seems to perform well here and finally grand theft auto san andreas I am using an Xbox one controller here connected over Bluetooth pairs right up with the tablet this game works great these Amazon tablets have been great for media consumption like video playback music and even ebooks here we have Prime video just wanted to show you a work in here buffering is pretty quick as long as you have a decent connection and it plays fine next up we'll move over to YouTube now this is definitely not gonna play any 4k content but I'm gonna go right here and everything loads up fine so you shouldn't have any trouble with YouTube on this thing and finally we'll test out Netflix now if you want to install Kodi on here use a custom build or play files from the SD card that's also going to work fine but I wanted to show you the streaming working time for my favorite part emulation unfortunately n64 is gonna be really hit or miss on a tablet like this this is Goldeneye double-oh-seven and it's just not going to cut it for this game but there are in 64 games that are gonna run fine like Mario Kart rampage or super mario 64 as you see here we're getting a constant 30 FPS and by the way I'm using Moop n64 + FZ for these games the cpu gpu combination in this tablet actually works really well for ps1 games here we have bloody roar - one of the harder games to emulate in my opinion and we're getting a constant 60 FPS I'm still using that Bluetooth Xbox controller and I'm using retroarch with PC SX rearmed we'll try one more here this is Tekken 3 again really great performance pretty much all of the lower end consoles are going to run fine on here from Atari 2600 up to ps1 including some n64 games here's SNES and I'm still using retroarch with snes9x runs at full speed I also tested out some super graphics games so if you want to emulate NES game boy game boy color Game Boy Advance NeoGeo some name stuff FBA this tablet is perfect for it so like I mentioned the price on the new fire seven tablet is $49.99 expect this to go down on Amazon Prime day and if you can pick one of these up for around $39.99 and you don't already own the Amazon fire eight it's definitely worth it but keep in mind that you're purchasing a low-end tablet this is what these are marketed as that's why they're $49.99 and they go on sale for $40 all the time updates over time are gonna help a little bit with performance but don't expect a massive game I did experience some app crashing using higher-end games from the Google Play Store like I said you can sideloading here and that has to do with the one gigabyte of ram that this ships with I really wish they would have added an extra 512 megabytes or an extra gig would have made this tablet a lot better now if you're looking to buy one of these tablets just for video playback music and ebooks I think it's worth $50 to get you one of these now if you're not going to be doing any intensive gaming on here it will work for you Netflix Hulu prime video you could even install Kodi if you want to so that's pretty much it for this video guys I really appreciate you watching if you want to learn how to install Google Play on your new fire 7 tablet I will leave a link in the description it was a video I created on the fire 8 but it'll also work on the new Fire 7 and if you're thinking about purchasing one of these I will leave links to Amazon in the description they got those new colors and it is a nice little spec bump from the old fire 7 but if you already own the 8 I would just stay away from this if you have any questions let me know in the comments below it'd be really cool if you could hit that like button maybe subscribe to the channel
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's going on guys the CTA Prime back here again today we're gonna be taking a look at the all-new 2019 Amazon fire seven tablet this is actually Amazon's ninth generation 7-inch tablet we got a nice little spec bump here plus some new colors like with all Amazon fire tablets inside of the box you get the tablet itself power brick and USB cable I opted to pick up the green version this is known as sage but they offer three other colors we have our basic black plum sage which I have here an Twilight blue I'm kind of diggin these lighter colors here I was never really into the bright yellows and bright blues that they had in the previous generation so I'm glad to see it kind of toned down in this version so as for sound we get a single speaker output that's it for this one no stereo on the 7-inch version micro SD card slot good up to a 512 gigabyte card and now this can be used as internal or external storage on the top of the unit we have our power button micro USB for power in a small pinhole microphone 3.5 millimeter audio jack for those headphones and our volume rocker so like I mentioned Amazon did bump the specs up a little bit unfortunately they didn't add any more RAM which would definitely help out this little 7 inch tablet but we do get a better CPU this is the same CPU that's in the Amazon fire eight and so mediatek mt6752 one gigabyte of ddr4 Ram I really do wish they would have added at least 1.5 in this machine but unfortunately we're just stuck with one here I gotta say the screen actually looks really good in my opinion that looks better than the Amazon fire 8 version this is a 1024 by 600 IPS display and the viewing angles are amazing you can buy this tablet with either 16 or 32 gigabytes of internal storage but both of them offer the micro SD card slot and that's good up to a 512 gigabyte card as for connectivity 802 11 a B G and n doesn't say anything about AC Wi-Fi but I am picking up my 5 gigahertz Network I don't think it's taking full advantage of it the download speeds are really good for a cheap tablet like this bluetooth 4.1 in the operating system is fire OS C point three zero which is based on Android 7.1.2 I personally haven't had enough time to test this out but they claim up to seven hours of reading video or music on a single charge I'd say somewhere around the five-hour mark the first thing I did when I got this tablet was try to install Google Play and luckily it does work if you follow my guide for the older 7 inch or the 8 inch it works with this one also I'll leave links for that in the description so with the looks and specs out of the way let's go ahead and see how this thing performs I'm going to be running some benchmarks testing some native Android gaming video playback and emulation so I had originally planned to run a bunch of benchmarks on here but unfortunately a lot of them just would not run so first up we have Geekbench 4 pro with a single core score of 638 multi core 1735 this is coming in on the very low end of the scale same thing with 3d mark here I was only able to run ice storm I couldn't get slingshot to work and we scored a 3900 and I'm sure if I was able to run some other benchmarks on here we'd get lower scores also so this is on the very low-end scale of the Android devices in 2019 now it's time to move over to some native Android gaming unfortunately pub G would not run on here this is actually the first time I've ever seen this I've been able to run this on a ton of different devices I also tried the lite version but it wouldn't even start up so the first game I'm gonna test here is minecraft it actually runs really good on this little tablet this is the Pocket Edition and it's been optimized over back to playing at normal speed so mine crap is definitely playable on the new 2019 fire 7 tablet I'm not a big mobile gamer but I did find this on trending this is fury survival Z some type of zombie game and it seems to perform well here and finally grand theft auto san andreas I am using an Xbox one controller here connected over Bluetooth pairs right up with the tablet this game works great these Amazon tablets have been great for media consumption like video playback music and even ebooks here we have Prime video just wanted to show you a work in here buffering is pretty quick as long as you have a decent connection and it plays fine next up we'll move over to YouTube now this is definitely not gonna play any 4k content but I'm gonna go right here and everything loads up fine so you shouldn't have any trouble with YouTube on this thing and finally we'll test out Netflix now if you want to install Kodi on here use a custom build or play files from the SD card that's also going to work fine but I wanted to show you the streaming working time for my favorite part emulation unfortunately n64 is gonna be really hit or miss on a tablet like this this is Goldeneye double-oh-seven and it's just not going to cut it for this game but there are in 64 games that are gonna run fine like Mario Kart rampage or super mario 64 as you see here we're getting a constant 30 FPS and by the way I'm using Moop n64 + FZ for these games the cpu GPU combination in this tablet actually works really well for ps1 games here we have bloody roar - one of the harder games to emulate in my opinion and we're getting a constant 60 FPS I'm still using that Bluetooth Xbox controller and I'm using retroarch with PC SX rearmed we'll try one more here this is Tekken 3 again really great performance pretty much all of the lower end consoles are going to run fine on here from Atari 2600 up to ps1 including some n64 games here's SNES and I'm still using retroarch with snes9x runs at full speed I do with the one gigabyte of ram that this ships with I really wish they would have added an extra 512 megabytes or an extra gig would have made this tablet a lot better now if you're looking to buy one of these tablets just for video playback music and ebooks I think it's worth $50 to get you one of these now if you're not going to be doing any intensive gaming on here it will work for you Netflix Hulu prime video you could even install Kodi if you want to so that's pretty much it for this video guys I really appreciate you watching if you want to learn how to install Google Play on your new fire 7 tablet I will leave a link in the description it was a video I created on the fire 8 but it'll also work on the new Fire 7 and if you're thinking about purchasing one of these I will leave links to Amazon in the description they got those new colors and it is a nice little spec bump from the old fire 7 but if you already own the 8 I would just stay away from this if you have any
