Nexus 6 & Nexus 9 - Everything you need to know!

The Nexus 9: A Promise of Greatness

Arguably the most interesting device to be released this year is the Nexus 9, which comes with an 8.9-inch IPS LCD display featuring a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels. This impressive screen also boasts a feature that many users would love to see in their devices - a double tap to wake up function. Additionally, it supports a 1.6-megapixel front-facing camera and an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera. But what truly sets the Nexus 9 apart is its enormous 6700mAh battery, which promises to provide users with all-day power.

Under the hood, the Nexus 9 packs a punch with its dual-core Tegra K1 processor clocked at 2.3 GHz and 192-core Kepler GPU. This processor may seem like a relic of the past compared to some newer devices, but HTC's expertise in mobile hardware ensures that it will still provide excellent performance. The device also comes equipped with HTC's renowned BoomSound speakers, which have been well-received by critics and users alike. With two options for storage - 16GB and 32GB - the Nexus 9 seems to offer a reasonable amount of space for users.

One of the most intriguing aspects of the Nexus 9 is its unusual aspect ratio, with a 4:3 screen size that deviates from the standard 16:9 found in many modern devices. While some may view this as an odd choice, fans of Google's Chromebooks will likely appreciate the unique design, which has been used by the Pixel Chromebook to great success. Another aspect worth noting is the device's price point - it seems reasonably affordable compared to other high-end tablets on the market.

With its impressive specs and HTC's reputation for quality hardware, the Nexus 9 seems like a solid device that will deliver excellent performance. The fact that it runs Android Lollipop stock out of the box adds to its appeal, as many users have discovered that they don't need top-of-the-line specs to enjoy a smooth and efficient user experience. Whether or not this device will live up to expectations remains to be seen, but based on the information available, it certainly seems like a promising addition to Google's Nexus lineup.

The Strategy Behind the Nexus Program

When Google first launched its Nexus program, it was designed to set the standard for mobile devices and provide a benchmark for other manufacturers to follow. The original goal was to create devices that would showcase the latest Android features and push the boundaries of what was possible in mobile technology. Since then, the program has evolved to include a range of devices at different price points, catering to various user needs.

By including both smaller and larger devices, such as the Nexus 5 (4.6-inch screen) and Nexus 6 (5.7-inch screen), Google seems to be following a strategy similar to that used by Samsung with its Galaxy S series. The idea is to provide options for users who want different types of devices depending on their needs and preferences. While some might see this as duplicating efforts, others will appreciate the range of choices available.

The Benefits of Stock Android

One of the most significant advantages of the Nexus 9 is that it comes with stock Android Lollipop out of the box. This means that users can expect a seamless and optimized user experience without any manufacturer-specific features or bloatware. In fact, many people have discovered that running stock Android on a device like the Nexus 4 or Nexus 5 can provide excellent performance, even with less powerful hardware.

This trend suggests that Google's approach to mobile development is focused on simplicity, elegance, and ease of use. By stripping away unnecessary features and providing a clean, intuitive interface, users are free to experience the full potential of Android without any hindrances. As a result, the Nexus 9 and other devices in the Nexus lineup promise to deliver an exceptional user experience that will set them apart from other tablets on the market.

The Nexus Program: A Good Time for Fans

For fans of the Nexus program, there's never been a better time to be excited about Android. With seven new Nexus devices expected to run Lollipop by Christmas, users can expect a wide range of options across various price points. The fact that these devices will offer stock Android out of the box means that users won't have to worry about manufacturer-specific features or bloatware.

In addition, the availability of used Nexus devices at affordable prices means that even budget-conscious buyers can get their hands on a Lollipop device without breaking the bank. Whether you're looking for a high-end tablet or something more basic, there's a Nexus device out there to suit every need and preference. As always, Android Authority will be here to provide updates, reviews, and news about these exciting new devices, so stay tuned for more information as it becomes available.

unpleased about that even without the device in hand there are a few educated guesses that we can make there are very few phones that have over 3,000 mamp hour batteries that have poor battery life the 1440 display will probably keep it from attaining the kind of battery we saw in devices like the Note 3 but most people should be able to make it through the day with with a battery that size the there will probably be a hiccup occasionally but overall this should be one of the best performing smartphones of all time we also know that this is pretty much the same camera that's on the Moto X 2014 edition unfortunately that camera has come with mixed reactions some people think it's all right and others think it's pretty bad a lot of that depends on Personal Taste though and will with a reasonable amount of storage by most people's standards and that 64-bit processor is about as state-of-the-art as you can conceivably get in a mobile device right now about the only weird thing is the 43 aspect ratio because 169 is kind of the standard but this isn't the first time Google has done this if you'll recall the pixel Chromebook has a 43 aspect ratio and Google fans seem to enjoy it so it may not be that bad of a move even without this device we can make some educated guesses with that processor that RAM and running stock Android lollipop we can guess that this is going to be a pretty impressive machine May bulk at the idea of a dual core processor but do keep in mind that this isn't in the same category as the dual core processors from 2 years ago we're relatively certain that this device is going to be a beast as everybody knows HTC built the Nexus 9 and with that comes HTC's boom sound boom sound has been well regarded since it was first included on the HTC1 M7 and continues to be one of the best features on literally every HTC device that has it the speakers are going to sound awesome compared to most other tablets overall the Nexus 9 seems to be a fairly solid other oems could follow to create awesome devices the Nexus 9 on paper seems to live up to that status there are some people that are mled by the fact that Google didn't put out a smaller device this year instead they opted to keep the Nexus 5 around for another year and that's not entirely a bad thing the Snapdragon 800 in the Nexus 5 is still a very speedy and efficient processor and our cursory tests show that it runs Android lollipop with Grace when you look at the big picture Google is kind of doing a Samsung strategy here they have a 5-in device a fablet and then a tablet and other words there's pretty much a device out there for everybody right now if I had to guess I'd say that we probably see a Nexus 5 and 6 refresh next year when 64-bit architecture becomes the standard but until then there's really nothing wrong with the Nexus 5 and the Nexus 6 is only a slight step up something else to keep in mind here is that there are plenty of options if you want to go with the Nexus and still get lollipop altogether there will be seven Nexus devices is running Lollipop by Christmas including the Nexus 4 5 6 both sevens 9 and 10 since it's been established that you don't need amazing specs to run stock Android really well that means there will be more up-to-date Nexus devices than ever before and that's pretty exciting especially since you can get about half of them used at a very reasonable price it's literally never been a better time to be a Nexus fan we'll know more about the Nexus 6 and the Nexus 9 when we get some devices in hand like I said earlier we're kind of in that
