TIKTOK BOOKS_ ARE THEY WORTH THE HYPE

**My Thoughts on Hyped-Up Books**

One book that I decided to read and share my thoughts on is "Ice Planet Barbarians" by Ruby Dixon. This book series has been hyped up by many booktubers, and I must say, it was a pleasant surprise. The series is literally all about aliens and humans and steamy times, and that's exactly what it is. With other books in the series being way too long, this one was a great compromise at 218 pages.

I have to admit, I didn't expect to enjoy "Ice Planet Barbarians" as much as I did. The beginning of the book is not that good, with Georgia being captured by aliens and taken to an ice planet filled with young females. However, things quickly turn around when she meets a character named Vechin, an alien who claims her as his mate. If you're looking for a series about mates, this might be the one for you.

One thing that I appreciated about "Ice Planet Barbarians" was its lack of plot. There's no deep exploration of the planet or the aliens' motivations. The book is straightforward and to the point, with a focus on steamy romance between Georgia and Vechin. If you're looking for a light, easy read with plenty of action and romance, this might be the perfect series for you.

In contrast, "Icebreaker" by Hannah Grace was a different story altogether. This book is also hyped up on Tick Tock, but I have to say that it was way too long at 435 pages. While I enjoyed the book overall, I couldn't help but feel that multiple chapters could have been taken out without affecting the plot in any significant way. The book follows Anastasia, a figure skater who is trying to make it big on the Olympic scene, and Nate, the captain of her college ice hockey team.

As they navigate their complicated relationship, Anastasia struggles with commitment issues and focuses mainly on her goals. Meanwhile, Nate tries to win her over and show her that he cares. The book tackles some serious mental health themes, which I appreciated. However, I couldn't help but feel that the plot was a bit predictable, and that the book could have benefited from some editing to make it more concise.

**The Verdict**

In the end, I'd say that "Ice Planet Barbarians" is worth checking out if you're looking for a light, easy read with plenty of romance. While it may not be the most complex or engaging story, it's definitely fun and entertaining. On the other hand, "Icebreaker" was just okay for me. While it tackled some serious themes and had its moments, I felt that it could have been tightened up to make it more effective. Whether or not a book is worth the hype is always subjective, but I hope this review has given you a better idea of my thoughts on these books.

**Book Recommendation**

If you're looking for a series about mates, "Ice Planet Barbarians" might be the one for you. While it's not the most complex or engaging story, it's definitely fun and entertaining. If you're looking for something with more depth and complexity, you might want to look elsewhere.
