2017 Nissan GT-R Nismo Review - The R35 Gets a Makeover

**The R35 GTR Nismo: A Car that Exceeds Expectations**

I'm like okay I understand now the back seat is actually kind of usable if you have somebody average height I guess but once again I still consider the GTR a two-seater car I I think of it as a two-seater car the GTR is a big car there's no no doubt about it it's a big car when you're parking it and stuff like that but it gets kind of dwarfed when you start driving it it doesn't feel that big like y okay oh yeah the brakes are ridicul oh the roads here are so bad but it's so pretty out here the mountains and everything is just gorgeous.

**Tires and Handling**

The tires Believe It or Not wore out in the first 2,000 km and that is literally what his tuner said and everybody said you have to replace the tire pretty soon after getting one of these cars there's just the gtr's all-wheel drive system feels unlike anything else I mean it's it gives so much confidence in comparison to say an EVO or an STI or anything like that those are great but the GTR feels planted all the time like no matter what it feels like you're going to get around the corner does that mean you're Invincible no but the Nismo is just far superior to the normal GTR.

**Driving Experience**

I remember when I drove the R35 the first time and I was like you know what R35 that was a very fun car to drive but do I need it no I don't I had a great time it was a good experience but I don't need to do that I get in this car my mind has changed about the R35 it really is like I I could drive this thing all day long and still have a smile on my face I will say though the brakes are freaking incredible I at it at any speed you're gonna stop almost instantaneously fun fact about that when older people see his car they always take a picture of the brakes for some reason they don't ever take a picture of anything else and then like back to usual as soon as I get in it I can slow down just as fast which is ridiculous.

**The Sound and Performance**

You're using every bit of this 600 horsepower I mean it's it's not one of those cars where they go oh yeah it says it's 600 horsepower but I don't really think it's totally 600 horsepower another thing too I've noticed when you're cruising around it literally sounds like you're driving like a jet it has this whistle in the background the entire time it's like I'm ready to go can we please drive faster I don't want to drive slow and the car feels like it just wants to go all the time but cruising around Town's really no issue at all but the car shines way more when you're pushing it 100% I'm not even getting close to the limit of this car and it still feels like I'm hauling ass.

**Downsides**

That's it if you're really focused on oh I need a manual and I need all this I need the crazy exhaust sounds and all that this car doesn't make that much sound when it's factory of course it does when you put an exhaust on it but when it's factory there's not a lot of sound it's more about the actual acceleration itself if that makes sense and the handling the handling is just Godlike.

**Conclusion**

but that let you do one of my favorite things is just focus on the driving in up ahead it lets you focus everywhere else and then look I'm done I just slowed down it's so good I could read a book and eat dinner and eat breakfast go to sleep wake back up again and still do this but yeah all in all R35 GTR Nismo holy crap Nissan you did a really good job making the GTR something else it was starting to get a little old seeing them all the time but this car when you see it in person the headlights the tail lights the spoiler the stock wheels look like Vol te37s they have good taste so it's such a crappy feeling when you get a car in you're like oh my God the stock wheels are so ugly I have to spend money right now in order to make it look better all in all the Nismo is one of those cars that you look at it and you go I pretty much wouldn't change a thing everything about it is aggressive me and it captures people's imagination when people see it and what's better than that in a car.

**Final Thoughts**

and on that note I think that's a really good way to end this video and to thank everybody for watching thank you so much I had a fantastic time driving this car in Quebec beautiful countryside with an amazing sports car it doesn't get better than that and I will see you guys next time don't forget to subscribe and have a great day bye all

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enif it's our Time to Say Goodbye hey what's up you guys Dy here once again for another video review I hope you're all having a fantastic freaking day cuz I know I am today we're in Canada we're in Quebec for a couple of days and my buddies up here were kind enough to give me some car reviews and the first one being no big deal 2017 Nismo GTR R35 yes so I've driven a few r35s in the past I drove one in 2014 that was 600 wheel horsepower with just boltons and then I drove Andrew's Liberty Walk driven to cure one that one was a lot of fun cuz it had rolling anti-ag and 700 horsepower but this one's different why this one's the 2017 model and with the 2017 model I haven't driven the the base model if that makes sense I skipped right to the Nismo because why not the Nismo GTR is first off foremost a beautiful car the R35 I'm going to be so real with you guys I was starting to get fatigued I was getting tired of seeing them all the time at car shows because now they're becoming more affordable but when I finally saw this one in person my mind was blown my mind was blown because it looks like a spaceship on the road because you have have carbon everywhere has a giant wig in the back and the diffusers really change the look of this car the front with the carbon fiber lip the back with the carbon fiber like tucks in diagonally looks fantastic the exhaust tips are great but one thing about the exhaust tips though the stock exhaust is like that big and then the exhaust tip is like that big so whatever after market exhaust later right this car makes 600 horsepower to the crank 481 ftlb of torque to the crank and to the wheels it's it's fast that's all you got to know it's very fast to the point you don't really know how fast you're going sometimes so it's kind of dangerous but one thing I really want to touch on when it comes to the 2017 compared to the older ones is the interior the interior makes it feel like it's a car worth the money they're charging the older GTR I got in and it oh I'm going to get so much hate for saying this but the older one felt like it was a nicer Ultima on the inside I mean the seats were okay everything was okay but you get in this it feels like a super car it feels special there's alcantar and suede everywhere there's carbon everywhere it has a certain Supercar smell like when you sit in a Lamborghini or anything like that it has like a certain whiff when you get inside this has the same smell I know I compare cars performance with their smell that's stupid but you know I want to say though the steering feels so good I mean you go around corners and everything on these roads in Quebec no offense they suck they are so bad here like we went across one road at an intersection and it was like a wave all the way across I'm like this is not acceptable but you know bad weather equals bad roads but my point is is that the R35 this one is going over it like it's nothing it's no big deal and when you put inputs into it around bins and things it doesn't matter but the transmission is the thing that shines the most in the GTR without a doubt it's so easy I mean there's that argument oh it's just a computer David you don't need a lot of skill well yeah in a good way though it's it gives you confidence and you can enjoy the performance there's a difference between you know a car that's exhilarating and a car that performs I think there's a big difference with that you drive you know a high horsepower Supra or something like that that's a car that is fast and it's really scary this car is just so planted everywhere you go you feel the downforce and everything working in your favor and it's just so comfortable it's really weird like I was riding in the passenger seat and I almost fell asleep earlier today but the gear ratios are just lightning quick I mean down shift third gear and like anything with the GTR is that since the transmission is so fast you never fall out of boost and that's why so many high horsepower GTRs win so many races I don't know what gear I should be I guess I'll stay here oh my God it's so good I hate when I get in super cars and I'm just like God everything else is I get why it's so much money like I get it because you would go on a road rally or a road trip in one of these you're just the King of the Road like any Supercar nowadays are so good that you get into something other that's modified or something you're like okay I understand now the back seat is actually kind of usable if you have somebody average height I guess but once again I still consider the GTR a two-seater car I I think of it as a two-seater car the GTR is a big car there's no no doubt about it it's a big car when you're parking it and stuff like that but it gets kind of dwarfed when you start driving it it doesn't feel that big like y okay oh yeah the brakes are ridicul oh the roads here are so bad but it's so pretty out here the mountains and a great time it was a good experience but I don't need to do that I get in this car my mind has changed about the R35 it really is like I I could drive this thing all day long and still have a smile on my face I will say though the brakes are freaking incredible I at it at any speed you're gonna stop almost instantaneously fun fact about that when older people see his car they always take a noticed when you're cruising around it literally sounds like you're driving like a jet it has this whistle in the background the entire time it's like I'm ready to go can we please drive faster I don't want to drive slow and the car feels like it just wants to go all the time but cruising around Town's really no issue at all but the car shines way more when you're pushing it 100% I'm not even getting close to the limit of this car and it still feels like I'm hauling ass essentially downsides of the GTR driver involvement that's it if you're really focused on oh I need a manual and I need all this I need the crazy exhaust sounds and all that this car doesn't make that much sound when it's factory of course it does when you put an exhaust on it but when it's factory there's not a lot of but yeah all in all R35 GTR Nismo holy crap Nissan you did a really good job making the GTR something else it was starting to get a little old seeing them all the time but this car when you see it in person the headlights the tail lights the spoiler the stock wheels look like Vol te37s they have good taste so it's such a crappy feeling when you get a car in you're like oh my God the stock wheels are so ugly I have to spend money right now in order to make it look better all in all the Nismo is one of those cars that you look at it and you go I pretty much wouldn't change a thing everything
