The Apple TV 4K: A Long-Awaited Upgrade

As I sit here, excitedly talking about the latest announcements from Apple, I have to say that one announcement has me truly buzzing - the Apple TV 4K. Now, before I get into all the details, let's just say that I'm a huge fan of Apple and their products, and this new announcement is definitely up there on my excitement meter, right alongside the iPhone 10.

Now, the iPhone 10 is obviously the most exciting news of the day, but trust me when I say that the Apple TV 4K is a big deal. It's something that I've been waiting for years, and finally, it's here. The Apple TV 4K has 4k and HDR support, which is exactly what I've been wanting for years. My beautiful Samsung 65-inch 4k TV with HDR support just blows my mind - the super rich blacks are like nothing I've ever seen before.

The Apple TV 4K comes equipped with an A10X processor, but that's not all - your 1080p HD movies purchased in iTunes will be upgraded to 4k for free. Now, this is something that could have easily been a dollar or two more expensive, especially considering the movie studios are involved. But I'm pretty sure Apple has been fighting hard to get a good deal going, and it's paid off big time. Not only will your existing 1080p HD movies be upgraded for free, but if you want to buy a new 4k movie that you don't already own, the price will be the same as a standard 1080p movie - no extra cost.

The Apple TV 4K starts at $179, with prices increasing depending on the amount of storage you need. But hey, it's available for pre-order this Friday and will ship out next Friday, so you won't have to wait too much longer to get your hands on one. And let me tell you, I'm going to be buying mine on day one.

But what about the Siri remote? Well, Apple didn't really talk about any new features or changes to the remote control, so I'll just have to do some digging myself to find out more. But that's okay - I'm not a huge fan of built-in apps anyway. I prefer a dedicated box for 4k streaming, and I think this Apple TV 4K is going to fit right in with my existing setup.
