**New iPhone 3GS Firmware and Jailbreak Update**

Recent updates to the iPhone 3GS firmware have generated excitement among users and developers alike. The new update, version 3.1, promises to bring several improvements and features to the device.

Firstly, it's worth noting that the latest firmware update is not yet officially available for all users. However, the news has already started spreading, and some lucky few have managed to get their hands on it. Apple has confirmed that the new update is indeed in the works, but no official release date has been announced.

As an iPhone 3GS owner, I'd like to share my thoughts about this latest development. The new firmware update offers several bug fixes, which is definitely one of the best things about this update. Additionally, it's worth mentioning that the developers have already started exploring ways to take advantage of the device's capabilities using video apps.

Speaking of video apps, the iPhone 3GS has always been a great device for playing and editing videos. With the new firmware update, we can expect even more exciting possibilities. However, there are some concerns about the device's ability to handle demanding tasks without overheating.

In recent reports, it's been discovered that some iPhone 3GS devices have experienced heating issues, particularly when used while plugged in. This has led to some alarming news, including a picture of a white iPhone 3GS that has turned pink due to excessive heat. There are several possible explanations for this issue, but the most likely culprit is the upgraded processor and better battery life.

The processor, which runs at 600 megahertz, is indeed a powerful component. However, it's also a major contributor to the device's heating issues. When combined with the faster charge rate of the new firmware update, it's no wonder that some users are experiencing overheating problems.

However, there is a silver lining to this story. Apple has acknowledged the issue and has hinted at possible solutions in future firmware updates. For now, users can take precautions such as avoiding using their iPhone 3GS in hot environments or keeping it away from heat sources.

In conclusion, while the new firmware update brings several improvements, it's essential to be aware of the potential heating issues that some devices may experience. By taking simple precautions and waiting for future updates, we can ensure a safe and enjoyable experience with our iPhone 3GS.

WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys what is up this is duncan and today i'm going to try something a little different covering the latest news you should let me know what you think anyway today i'm going to go over the 3gs jailbreak the announcement of firmware 3.1 and how the 3gs is very hot not necessarily in good ways let's get this one started the first jailbreaking application known as purple rain will allow you to install third-party third-party applications such as cydia however it will not unlock the 3gs right now today a hacker named george hearts released the jailbreak which has surprised some people as the dev team has been the main people handling the jailbreaks lately as some of you may know the dev team announced that their jailbreak was done and they were but they were holding back on it until 3.1 came out so that apple wouldn't close the hole for good hans didn't agree with the iphone dev team's delay in launching a jailbreaking tool for the public on his blog and i can see where he's coming from i'm not sure whether his jailbreak uses the same exploit as the dev team's jailbreak but either way the jailbreak is out and it's hopefully it's too late for apple to fix it with 3.1 however there are some fairly serious problems with purple rain at the moment as i mentioned it doesn't unlock and there also are quite a few patches which allow you to run applications such as wonderboard that have not even been created yet because these patches have not been created quite a few jailbroken apps won't work like winterboard and quite a few others there are also some code errors so for now i might want to go ahead and hold up on jailbreaking at least for a couple days until some of the kinks have been worked out the 3.1 firmware update has recently been released in beta form to register developers seems somewhat pointless to say i'll go ahead anyway do not upgrade to 3.1 yet if you have want to keep your jailbreak or plan on jailbreaking that device i highly doubt that 3.1 won't ever be jailbreakable but it likely could be quite a while let me run through what the changes are you will now be able to trim a clip on your iphone 3gs without saving it over the original video giving you an option to save as copy which seems like a no-brainer to me voice control will now work over bluetooth headsets how this will work i'm not entirely sure but a welcome addition all the same while moving icons around on your springboard your iphone will vibrate this is a good idea although nothing that important really they have updated the modem firmware to 5.08.01 this one could cause problems for jailbreaking but it remains to be seen how this will affect anything improvements to open gl and quartz more improvement will certainly be a good thing although obviously the 3gs is no slouch when it comes to games quicker startup times this mostly helps us jailbroken people who usually have to restart much more frequently than when you aren't jailbroken a nice addition apis that allow third-party apps to access videos and edit them in order to help with 3gs video capabilities this opens up lots of possibilities including apps that work as video editors we'll definitely have to keep a close watch on this one there will be numerous bug fixes as well which is probably one of the best things about 3.1 in my opinion and although it has been confirmed i would strongly bet that the exploit used by red snow has been sealed up as well 3.1 seems like it might be a decent upgrade but we'll have to wait and see how the jailbreak comes before upgrading recently reports have surfaced from around the net that different iphone 3gs's have been played by heating issues namely they can easily become scorching hot in most cases it has been left plugged in while being used which seems to be the fastest way to heat up the device however a picture has been circulating of a white 3gs that has been turned pink apparently from overheating there are several explanations for this if it is indeed true which i tend to think it is first of all it must be remembered that this is hardly a new problem for example take the ipod touch second generation the back of it gets very hot when it is plugged in and being used nearly as hot as in the reported 3gs issues mine especially when i'm playing the game playing a game or when i am over wi-fi it gets very hot fast when it's plugged in of course due to the metal backing no discolorations or anything else happens as soon as it's unplugged everything returns to normal however that doesn't explain by itself why the iphone 3gs is becoming discolored like this as far as i am aware the 3g never had this problem so what's causing it it's simple the upgraded internals the iphone 3gs as well as a palm pre you use a quite powerful processor running at 600 megahertz which is a big step up from the 400 megahertz processor and the first two iphones as well as bettering the 533 megahertz processor in the second generation i touch while obviously more power is better a general rule of thumb is that the faster the processor is the more heat it puts out this is especially true when you look up the processor at the 3gs while it runs at 600 megahertz it could quite easily be ramped up to eight or even one gigahertz if they wanted to push it recent talkback is very simple it would likely overheat very very quickly if it was ramped up in addition to the battery life would suffer to really understand this think about the heat in such a compact device unlike it with a computer an iphone has really no vents or fans to cool it so it has to run cool by itself or else it would fry however the processor isn't the only or even the main culprit and why there are iphones overheating in my opinion i strongly suspect the battery is think about it every time someone has complained the device has been plugged in when the battery charges it puts off heat coupled with the faster and hotter running processor is just enough to push 3gs over the edge and start to discolor it so really i think it's a fairly simple problem with several fixes most of which aren't all that great first and foremost would be for apple to release a firmware update whether in 3.1 or some other time which would either turn the processor down in speed or perhaps slow the charge rate of the battery when it's in use which should help in keeping so much heat from the battery building up they could simply just tell people that the phone can get quite hot if you use it heavily while it's plugged in apple has said that you should keep the iphone out of glove compartments and out of heat lately but still they kind of seem to be starting the problem basically the moral of the story is very simple either be careful how you use your phone for the time being or get used to a nice pink one hey guys be sure to go check out zurich.com we've got all kinds of iphone and itouch news
