Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Weissach _ NURBURGRING REVIEW

The Experience of Driving the Porsche GT4 RS PDK at the Nurburgring

As I settled into the driver's seat of the Porsche GT4 RS PDK, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and anticipation. The car's aggressive stance and sleek design seemed to exude a sense of power and performance, and I was eager to put it through its paces on the infamous Nurburgring circuit.

Before we began our lap, my host explained that the GT4 RS PDK would be running with sports suspension and the hardest setting for the exhaust flaps and valves. This would provide us with a more aggressive driving experience, but also warned me about the potential need to tighten the seatbelts during the drive due to the increased G-forces. I nodded in agreement, knowing that this would add an extra layer of challenge to our ride.

As we started up the car, the sound system kicked in, and I was immediately struck by the incredible noise emanating from the engine. It was like nothing I had ever heard before - a seamless, sequential gearbox-like experience that seemed to shift seamlessly through the gears. The intake sound was particularly impressive, with a deep, throaty rumble that seemed to vibrate through every part of the car.

With a second gear engagement, we began our lap around the Nurburgring. As I accelerated out of the starting gate, I felt an instant surge of confidence and excitement. The car's handling was razor-sharp, with a level of precision and control that made me feel like a seasoned racing driver. However, as we entered higher-speed corners, I began to notice a subtle difference in behavior compared to the regular GT4 model. The rear end seemed slightly more aggressive, and I found myself feeling a gentle tug on the steering wheel as I pushed hard through the turns.

One of the most striking aspects of the GT4 RS PDK was its ability to carve up the track with ease. As we navigated through the faster sections, I felt a sense of exhilaration that was rare in my driving experience. The car seemed to invite me to push it harder and harder, with a subtle pressure that encouraged me to explore the limits of its performance.

However, as we entered some of the slower corners, I began to appreciate the importance of brake control. The GT4 RS PDK's brakes were remarkably effective, thanks in part to the unique cooling system and carefully calibrated pads that seemed to bite down with precision on even the hottest of laps. This was particularly evident during our stop at Turn 3, where a smooth application of the brake pedal allowed me to slow down without losing any momentum.

Throughout the lap, I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe at the sheer talent and engineering that had gone into creating this car. Every aspect of its design seemed to have been honed for performance, from the suspension to the exhaust system, every component working in harmony to deliver an exceptional driving experience. As we approached the end of our ride, I couldn't help but feel a pang of disappointment - it was clear that this was one car that had left me wanting more.

The Conclusion: A New Benchmark for Track Performance

As I reluctantly shut down the engine and climbed out of the GT4 RS PDK, I couldn't help but reflect on the experience we had just shared. This was, without a doubt, one of the most impressive cars I had ever had the pleasure of driving - a true benchmark for track performance that seemed to leave everything else in its wake.

In comparison to the regular GT4 model, the PDK felt like a different beast altogether. Its enhanced mid-range performance and aggressive handling made it feel significantly more potent on the track, and the way it carved through corners was truly breathtaking. As I watched my host walk away from the car, I couldn't help but wonder what the new GT3 RS would be like - would it live up to the hype, or would it find itself struggling in its wake?

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi guys welcome to auditor panel my name is hoop and welcome to this ring review of yeah I almost can't believe it that it's here but the Porsche 780 came in GT4 RS for me this is uh this is a big check I'm very excited for this because this is a car I wanted to experience on track for a while and uh it's happening today many thanks again to rsr in this case you can see them there in the background this car comes from rsr spot as you can see but you can rent it here at rsr nurburg which is amazing in my opinion if you think how rare these cars actually are to get nowadays from Porsche but you can actually rent one here and this is not a regular one or well you can't really call this a regular car but this is a y sock package so that includes the carbon hood the mirrors you have the intake you have the side Scoops in carbon the wing and you also have the titanium exhaust on it so really really cool that they they yeah they rent one out aspect out as this one it sits on steel brakes which for renting purposes I completely understand because carbon Ceramics are really really expensive to replace and considering how many kilometers these cars get on track I get that they didn't go for the carbon Ceramics but aside from that it's really really specked out so um we're also going to do a bit of a comparison to it too of course it's a little broader the the regular GT4 as you can see a little less arrow on that this car has all the flicks so these are aerodynamically very intelligent cars with all the side fins and the profiles to make sure that the air flows over the car in such a way that it creates downforce they also have quite a bit of underbody aerodynamics um so the engine in this is derived from the 991.2 GT3 RS so it's the 4 liter naturally aspirated 9000 RPM 500 horsepower and this car also borrows parts from the 991.2 GT3 RS regarding suspension so this is a bit of a hybrid from what I understand between GT3 and GD TRS 991.2 again McPherson so not double Wishbone as the 992 GT3 RS is so in that sense the 992 GT TRS is still Superior to this but yeah aside from that this is more orientated towards uh a car to have a bit more fun in where before she claims that of course the 911 will still be a faster car they say that this car is more focused towards having enjoyment and fun so it's all about fun with the GT4 RS more so than the track times which is a weird thing to say about an RS product but I really get it because they had to put it somewhere where it's not gonna top the 911. it had to be just in between that um yeah interior wise the lovely carbon buckets how can start with the perforation in them really nice of course the pdk because that's the only option you can get on the GT4 RS of course the roll hoop which is part of the very soft package and yeah that's basically it so the car sits on a Michelin cup too so not cop to ours if I'm not mistaken yeah so cup twos so we're gonna see how yeah how that's gonna hold up and we're also gonna compare it a bit to it's a little brother or his less aggressive or is less crazy broader and see how these two compare so you're gonna go with me on a lap around the Nurburgring nord's life and then I will tell you guys all about how it feels how it handles and uh yeah in all honestly how I'm gonna check off one of uh one of the wish lists I would say so I'm gonna take you out on this lap around the ring okay so guys we're now gonna go out in the GT4 RS pdk and sports suspension also in the hardest setting everything is off exhaust flaps or valves are open um it's gonna give me a seat belt warning the whole time just so you are aware because yeah we haven't uh they're not tightened but it's a thing for later we'll do my card scan and I really hope you guys can hear me because there is a hell of a lot of noise the intake sound on this car is oh it's next level here we go second gear and listen to this oh my God incredible the noise is really exciting it's something else I've never experienced anything like it before it was like a sequential gearbox the way it shifts yeah compared to the regular ct4 you can really feel that Arrow Arrow oh this guy is so much saddle so much more it still has that same feel that same confidence but there's just on the high speed I feel there's a bit more grip actually highest means oh here we go I mean it's scary but yeah it's so good oh so much confidence you really feel you really feel the arrow helping you compared to to the regular GT4 I would say also it is it's a bit less playful play for regular GT4 I do feel like oh the front tires are again are a bit of a factor here because again it's still only a two four five and without your respect for us about it if you could have made a 265 fit maybe the car would have been too good I guess it's really lucky a bit understand that noise and everything about it is if you're a race car that's the difference though I always feel like with a Mid Engine compared to front or rear engine is that it's a bit snappier on oversteer feel that here because you're able to push these cars so hard so easily what a really good job on the brake pads here because this car sits on steels which you saw and these great fans are doing a really good job we're only on you almost ate ear protection it's it's ridiculous because they carry so much speed but it's also really this car really tells you and invite you to keep pushing him because again as we as with 95 of the people that I might be a uh but I can tell you there is and even it has a lot of tour still you can really feel the push is he gonna let me fast thank you oh and through here look at it look at the gravity look at it hear it scream oh my God I'm sorry guys and I'm so quiet but I'm just I'm enjoying this so much I think I couldn't hear you anyway no I don't think you can even hear me I hope you can because this is pure joy I'm telling you yeah oh and here is the understeer radio Factor you may be saw it here we go is outrageous it's stupid I'm gonna say there is you can compare this to a regular GT4 and then you can't this thing carries speed wow compares to the GT4 is something else and it is kind of on par but then in the high speed Corners it really it tells a different story compared to the regular GT4 oh thank you that must be that has to be one of the best experiences on the track I ever had in a car I'm gonna need a few minutes Alex is Porsche what an amazing product this is a joy to drive extremely confidence inspiring everything about it is just more than more than Next Level just something else I cannot imagine how the new GT3 RS will feel compared to this because this is already so incredibly impressive it's during a lab I might have been lost a little forward so sorry about that guys I hope you enjoyed the noise I hope you enjoy my driving um big big thanks to rsr nurburg again you can rent this car from them which is insane to me you can rent a GT4 RS here at the Nurburgring at rsr many many many thanks to them and uh yeah guys I hope we can top this soon thank you so much for watching and see you at the next Ring reviewhi
