The New Thunder Purple OnePlus 60: A Review
Hey guys, I'm Thanh, the tech chap, and welcome back to my channel! Today, I'm excited to show you one of my favorite phones right now - the new Thunder purple OnePlus 6. The 6 is already a standout device in its lineup, but what makes this particular model even more special? Let's dive in!
The Midnight Black Color Scheme
I have to say that I was thoroughly impressed with the midnight black color scheme that came with my review unit. The gradient that fades from black at the top to purple at the bottom is subtle yet eye-catching. In a world of black rectangular phones, it's refreshing to see a splash of color. And when the back of a phone hits the light just right, you can actually make out a slight "S" pattern - it's genuinely a beautiful phone! Of course, this isn't a boxing video, so let's take a quick look in the box to see what else we get.
Inside the Box
As you'd expect from any OnePlus 6, there's a power plug, USB-C, and a USB-A port. But one thing I always appreciate is that Oneplus includes a case in the box, which is clear so we can still see all that purple goodness. It looks like any other 60 case at first glance, but of course, it's actually the gorgeous Thunder Purple model! Let's pull it to one side for a moment and take a closer look.
Headline Features - In-Display Fingerprint Reader
One of the standout features of the OnePlus 6 is its in-screen fingerprint reader. I'm happy to report that it works well, but there's a slight catch. The ambient display isn't always on, so you'll need to tap the screen or even just shake it a bit to wake up before you can use the fingerprint reader. It might seem like a minor issue, but it's definitely worth mentioning.
Which Phone Looks Best?
Now that we've seen what makes this Thunder Purple OnePlus 6 so special, I want to hear from you! Which of these phones do you think looks best - the OnePlus 6, the Huawei Mate XX Pro, or the Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro? Cast your vote in the poll at the top right, and who knows, maybe the winner will even receive a prize (although, let's be real, it's probably just bragging rights!).
Only One SKU Available
The Thunder Purple OnePlus 6 is available in only one SKUs - with eight gigs of RAM and 128 gigs of storage. It's not the most extensive options list, but honestly, I'm okay with that. The device feels solid and well-rounded, even without all the bells and whistles.
My Personal Experience
As someone who's been using the OnePlus 6 for a while now, I have to say that I've grown quite fond of it. There's something about the software that feels a lot closer to stock Android than some of its competitors. No bloatware, no long animations - just a clean, intuitive experience that makes me want to use my phone all day long. And let's not forget the gesture support on this device - it's one of the best I've seen so far.
Pros and Cons
Now that we've talked about what makes the Thunder Purple OnePlus 6 so special, I'm left wondering whether I should switch from my current phone to this new model. While the 6 has its pros (like the in-screen fingerprint reader and gesture support), it also has some cons - like the limited storage options.
Do you think I should stick with my current phone or take a chance on the OnePlus 6? Let me know in the comments below, and don't forget to vote in the poll! If you're interested in learning more about the 6, be sure to check out my full review by clicking the link at the top right.
Thanks for watching guys, and I'll see you next time on the channel!
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhey guys I'm Thanh the tech chap and say hello to the new Thunder purple one plus sixty the sixty is already one of my favorite phones right now and I have to say that well I had no complaints about the midnight of mirror-black colors let's just say this purple finish is something special the gradient that fades from black at the top to purple at the bottom is subtle but still eye catching and in a world of black rectangular phones a splash of color is always appreciated and when the back of a phone hits the light just right you can actually make out a slight s pattern this is genuinely a beautiful phone I guess since this isn't a boxing video we should probably take a quick look in the box so it looks like any other 60 case although of course it's the purple phone which it just looks so good but let's pull it to one side for a moment and see what else we do get inside which includes the usual power plug the USB C 2 USB a port and of course that phone a half mil two USB C headphone adapter because there's no headphone port one thing I always appreciate is one plus gives you a case in the box and because it's a clear case we can still see all that purpley goodness of course we're on the other headline features I'm sixty is that in screen fingerprint reader which does work well but even though it has an ambient display it's not always on display so you do need to tap the screen or even just shake it a bit to wake up before you can then use the fingerprint reader but since we are talking about phones that stand out which do you think looks best out of these the oneplus 60 the huawei mate xx pro and the Xiaomi me eight pro cast your vote in the poll at the top right and the winner gets well nothing really but it's fun right so the thunder purple 60 is only coming out in one SKU with eight gigs of RAM and 128 gigs of storage and I'll see you back five hundred and seventy nine dollars it's available to buy right now so if you want to check it out I put a link in the description aside from the color though it's identical to any other 60 with the same six point four one inch AMOLED screen that tiny teardrop knotch snapdragon 845 processor 3700 milliamp hour battery and that dual lens camera setup right now I am on the fence though because I don't know whether to switch from my may 20 pro to the 60 even though the may 20 costs almost twice as much and has a few extra bells and whistles including a bigger battery and more camera options honestly I just prefer using the 60 there's something about the software which feels a lot closer to stock Android that I really like there's no bloatware long animations it's just fast and I think the gesture support on the 60 is the best you can get on any Android phone so I'm kind of torn this pros and cons for each but what do you think I should do stick with the may 20 pro or switch to the 60 let me know in the comments and vote in the poll so many polls today so that's just a quick video showing off the sexy new Thunder purple 60 obviously you can't go wrong with any of the colors but this is definitely my favorite and if you want to find out more about the 60 check
