attentive viewers will already have noticed a significant difference between the two devices that is very intentional the Mac versus PC debate takes on a whole new meaning when talking about prices as low as $200 where you'll have to choose from a selection of Core 2 Duo Mac books on the PC side however $200 can set you up with a bevy of interesting if somewhat peculiar and unknown laptops and 2 and ones from China but here's the thing these devices are actually very similar so the MacBook uses a Core 2 Duo while the high 10 uses a quad-core Intel Atom processor in Cinebench both these processors score right around 100 CV which isn't very good but they're both very similar in this regard also similar are the low power Intel HD graphics in the chewy and the Nvidia 9400 M chip in the MacBook it's not perfect but they're both very bad so there's that they also both have 4 gigabytes of RAM performance wise these two vastly different devices aren't very very similar so let's wait the benefits of each starting with the MacBook we get the benefit of a familiar traditional experience we have a standard layout with a full-size keyboard the full-size excellent trackpad that Apple laptops are known for and a clamshell display the design is familiar a bit dated but not ugly the laptop is thicker than most especially in 2018 but not overly heavy and the display is healthy thirteen point three inches the display also happens to be my least favorite aspect of this laptop at just 1280 by 800 this display really really dates the device the viewing angles are also pretty bad and the bezels are enormous as far as usability the o.9 MacBook is starting to show its age well it performs well for basic tasks its long-term support is questionable the most recent OS you can run is El Capitan and support is gradually dropping for this laptop now that's not to say that it's not usable and won't be for several years but just know that this computer is nearing the end of its usable life so that does limit its long term use now moving over to the Chewie we enjoy all the benefits of 64-bit Windows 10 which is a big improvement in terms of long term support all the latest apps and programs that run on Windows 10 will run on this little fella albeit they may run slower depending on what you're trying to do the keyboard and trackpad on the chui are much much worse than the MacBook however the keys are too small the trackpad is very short and yet weirdly wide and it's very tricky to use to make up for this the chewy also has a touchscreen and can turn into a tablet if you want it to be one this adds a layer of functionality that the MacBook can't match being able to remove the display and use it as a standalone tablet feels more modern than the old stick-in-the-mud of MacBooks stubbornly stationary display also adding to the allure of the chui is a really lovely 1080p IPS display with very very excellent viewing angle this display is honestly really fantastic and it's really my favorite aspect of this entire device it's that good it's bright crisp and it adds a lot to the value of this laptop consider this this device only costs $200 but the display has the same pixel density as a retina macbook pro at 220 pixels per inch so basically this thing has a Retina display that is very respectable additionally the chui also has the ability to dual boot android 5.1 this is nice but android 5.1 he is a bit dated and I prefer to stick with Windows 10 in my opinion these are both very very good secondary devices here in 2018 the MacBook is a beater car for the desk you won't care too much about the thing so you can stand a few dents and scratches which it will most likely already have as it's 9 years old but it also has the convenience of a MacBook Pro experience with the fantastic keyboard and trackpad and the high quality aluminum build that we've come to expect from Apple on the other hand the chui gives you the versatility of a laptop and a tablet in one device plus the support of Windows 10 and that truly fantastic display the choice between these two isn't what is better it's a matter of which makes sense for you if you want a traditional laptop with a solid keyboard and trackpad something that can soak up the bumps and get some work done the MacBook has you covered but if you want some media consumption a tablet for
