Elgato Stream Deck Unboxing & Overview - WORLD FIRST

Unboxing the Elgato Stream Deck Macro Keypad

I'm excited to share with you my unboxing experience with the Elgato Stream Deck Macro Keypad, a device I've been using for a while but haven't had the pleasure of unboxing in its full retail sample form. As I open the box, I notice that it looks very similar to their usual capture card boxes, with their new logo and branding prominently displayed on the back. The evolution of your content section highlights some of the key features of this device.

Upon further inspection, I find a quick start guide for setting up the Stream Deck, which promises to be fairly straightforward. This is indeed the case, as I'll elaborate on later in my review and tutorials. The Stream Deck keypad itself is presented nicely up front, with 15 keys that offer a total of 210 possible macro shortcuts when using folders. I find it quite slick, especially considering the dynamic workflow that these keyboards enable.

The small screens behind each key can be customized to display icons, further enhancing this dynamic workflow. Additionally, there are some nice little details like rubber feet on the bottom, which help prevent the Stream Deck from slipping around while in use. However, I do wish that the USB cable was detachable; it's hard to understand why manufacturers can't make this a standard feature.

The stand is another notable aspect of the Stream Deck. It allows you to adjust the angle of the device with 8 different options, which includes flipping out shorter tabs and using a bigger stand plate. There are also four more flat angles available for use, as well as the option to lay it flat on your desk if preferred. While I do find the stand to be somewhat awkward in my current setup, having it up on a sand-covered surface is indeed very valuable when gaming.

After removing all the paperwork and packaging, we're left with an empty box – a testament to how compact the Stream Deck itself is. Having had the pleasure of using this device for a while now, I can attest that it's helped my streaming experience in many ways. The fact that manufacturers have built such a polished-looking device makes a big difference.

The Elgato Stream Deck Macro Keypad will be available in May, and I'm excited to share some tutorials for setting it up once the trailers become available or when pre-orders start. For those interested in getting their hands on one, you can check out the link in the video description below or visit Amazon to pre-order yours today.

Overall, I've enjoyed my time with the Stream Deck, and its quality is evident in every aspect of its design. With the stand being a notable exception, which I'll have to revisit in future content, the Elgato Stream Deck Macro Keypad is definitely worth considering for anyone looking to elevate their streaming experience.
