ZTE Axon 7 - Hands on Review

The Axon 7: ZTE's Flagship Powerhouse

ZTE's Axon series is back with its latest flagship device, the Axon 7, and it's a real powerhouse. The phone boasts an impressive array of features that make it stand out from the competition.

Inside the Axon 7, you'll find a powerful Snapdragon 820 processor, which is considered one of the best processors for this year. This means that the phone will be able to handle even the most demanding tasks with ease. Additionally, the rear of the phone features a fingerprint sensor and a camera lens, giving users a convenient way to unlock their device and capture high-quality photos.

The camera on the Axon 7 is perhaps one of its standout features. With 20 megapixels, it's clear that ZTE has put a lot of thought into creating a camera that can take stunning images. But what really sets this camera apart is its f1.8 aperture. This means that the phone will be able to capture low-light shots with ease, resulting in incredibly impressive photos. We've had a chance to test the camera out, and we're excited to say that it really delivers.

The Axon 7 also features a stunning 5.5-inch 2K or 1440p AMOLED screen. This means that users will get to enjoy crisp, vibrant images with excellent color accuracy. The phone is running Android 6.0, with ZTE's custom MyFavor UI on top. While the interface has been tweaked slightly from previous versions, it still retains its unique charm. One notable change is the way the shade icon behaves when pulled down from the top; it now looks more like regular Android, and less intrusive.

In addition to its impressive specs, the Axon 7 also features a premium audio experience. ZTE has included two different audio processors: one for Hi-Fi playback and recording. This means that users will be able to enjoy high-quality audio files without any issues. While we've only had a listen so far, it sounds like ZTE is onto something special.

When it comes to design, the Axon 7 has undergone significant changes compared to its predecessors. Gone are the plastic sections at the top, replaced by antenna bands that give the phone a sleeker look. The rear panel is made of metal and features a curvy design that's both stylish and functional. ZTE has worked closely with BMW Group to create an edge that feels unique and special. This approach may be unconventional, but it results in a phone that feels superb in the hand.

To top it all off, the Axon 7 is priced at €450 in Europe, making it an attractive option for those looking for a high-end device without breaking the bank. We've also been told to expect a US release soon, with pre-orders expected to go live around July. With its impressive specs and premium design, the Axon 7 is sure to be a hit among Android enthusiasts.

We'll be bringing you a full review of the Axon 7 in the coming days, so be sure to check back for our hands-on experience with this flagship device.
