Bad News for the Builds

Boost and Maybe See What This G25 550 Can Do

One thing that we've learned is how great Nicole looks. Nicole can't walk on the Swiss tracks of heels, she gets stuck. It's not those ones. On all the sadness today, we had what we thought was old reliable give out on us yet again with me taking Nicole on a date. We encountered car issues. Nicole Tom what happened so bad? So I really don't know what caused it. It started acting funny. It was on 93, I knew to switch back for 1393 in the 85 and I put some ev5 in and it started acting up. AFR wasn't reading, and I thought maybe it was like some bad o2 sensors or whatever. Then I went and put some more ninety-three in it, and a car runs fine now. So what do you think? It's possible that it just doesn't make sense because that one container is the same containers that we've been using for all the other cars. A new batch that's what we we don't know if it's those who sensor or the gas if it's not a new batch then obviously, a so to censor all. What there's a dirty guy come on, that was supposed to be brought in I'm sorry um, so yeah, so that's sad but it works now.

There was something else I had to tell you guys about the Mustang. Oh, it was just weak really badly. It was like undriveable bad. I literally called Alberto cuz he helped Matt install the exhaust and the headers in the car, and I thought he might remember where the oh twos are and maybe like one of the wires melted and shorted out or something because it was just weird that both o2 sensors stopped reading in sindh um anyway tomorrow this car is going on the dyno so is the 350z. Comment below what you guys think the horsepower numbers are gonna be for this car with the g25 550 on e85, and then the 350z.

Nicole Spit Some Numbers Right Now

What's the 240 can make, and what's the 350 is he gonna make? I'm putting you on the spot. I'm not giving you any hints, it's fun so you want to know where's power in just horse powers, just horse powers, fun. You heard me on for hundreds further. 240 well yeah that's accurate they're gonna be in the oh man 300 okay can you be any more specific but that's both correct? Yeah, I'll save you from the embarrassment so what do you want to guess again? I just wanna leave it at that because you know you'd be right.

I think the Z's gonna be 350 or less and I think the 240 is gonna be for 50 or higher. That is probably more accurate than what I'm gonna say because I know that this car made 420 wheel at 20 pounds with the old turbo. I think at 20 pounds with this turbo, it would make maybe look closer like 4:30, 4:45 iron cranks it up to 28 like he thinks he can with these coil packs. I think this car will make closer to 500. I don't think it'll make over 500 with a stock intake manifold torque wise it's gonna be crazy. I think Martin says on HR so you can normally get them like around the 310, 315 wheel mark.

We Had A Wonderful Second Anniversary

I can't remember if I told you guys that in our video or not but um thank you guys oh that's what we're talking about we were thinking about changing it from just married to like a smaller bin married. You think that would be appropriate only because it's like I think it's cool because you guys know what it is, but sometimes we'll be like driving around town and like on what oh it's other just married stick around like we've been. I was like yeah I forget about it - and then someone that congrats I'm like what we're driving on the street we found that there's like they're not walking at us cuz we're married Nicole, it's cause you look so great. Alright guys we'll see you tomorrow and hopefully good luck on the dyno and then this thing hopefully midweek on the dyno in Tampa. Oh believe when you say\\n

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enyou guys have noticed already we're going a little bit over the top with heat management with this RV built and a large reason why when you are dealing with a 6-cylinder engine kind of like Nicole's jay-z especially an iron block as opposed to as opposed to an aluminum block there's a lot more heat especially with more power and I don't want to create fires I've had those in the past you also don't want things melting or burning that's why every single line on the exhaust side has some sort of like heat sleeve heat rap and I just wrapped my first down pipe and I think it came out pretty sweet if you notice we're not using those zip ties Alberto advised me that they suck so I'm not using the metal zip ties I'm actually using some okay yeah I know they're good I know that you want me to use this style clamp Alberto and not this style claim but this style times all the style clamp that I had and it works it's more functional to suck client than actually using those little metal shift I told you don't lose the whole thing on one so you don't want them to with this will stay tight forever gloves are really important whenever you're wrapping everything because the fiberglass or whatever it's made out of his so itchy I'm gonna be honest I don't remember who I got this from this like wrap that I have was either from Mishimoto or was from the thermal zero guys thermal zero guys are the guys that make the bad turbo blankets and they thought they were so funny for this build that they just had to make Alberto laugh-in twits Kyle I'm on my turbo blanket he thought it was the funniest thing he literally wanted a thing he wanted to like call them and ask them if it was a mistake or something else made his day laughs that was hilarious but look now we got a matching key management system rad I need green tires a piece of Brad if they mint green oh my god I'm so itchy I feel like I have a dog but a dog that has fiberglass there that would be the worst I didn't have anything to bolt the shroud up to on the radiator so what I used is some of these zip ties that I have left over I think they might have come with like a fan kit or something they're cool because they have like a nice little pad and then I can just fish it right through the radiator and then I can basically zip tie the shroud to it without having to make any crazy brackets or anything the air is obviously gonna pass through the area with the least resistance so I took some weather stripping and put it on the edges because I noticed that the factory shroud has small gaps so I'm just gonna do this to get it nice and tight that way it's pulling all the air through this radiator and we should stay ice-cold with that clutch fan so this little pocket right here is something that's been driving me nuts because I have no idea what it's there for like Google pictures of like r32 shrouds and r32 radiators they all have this little opening here and I don't know what it's for because obviously the fan is like not gonna be pulling air through here so why is there just this area that's not being used and the AC fan too by the way is like up on top so that doesn't make any sense if you were to say like oh well the AC fan operates in this area so let me know because I'm really curious what this purpose is of this area there's been tackling little stuff like an intake manifold on I really like how Alberto ran this water line for the turbo very neat and how it kind of tucks in through there got the radiator hose on there had to do some modifications to that clutch fans on but through the radiator in he actually wound up welding just a normal style pipe here rather than an an fitting just because it was too short of a distance to get the line that we wanted but everything's starting to come together my sweet little single radium ejector seat because the one that was there wasn't really nice it was all like chewed up and stuff so at another speed bump that may put a damper on getting this cartoon on Saturday I'm hoping it won't but we had a bit of a miscommunication with the drive shaft and the length that I measured was flange to flange with a length that my friend Brad measured was the entire drive shaft so we were like oh yeah the links are right but neither of us asked each other like what the length was specified as and yeah so it barely even goes in wallets Munda to the flange so there's a shop locally called Central Florida drive line and they can normally turn drive shafts around pretty fast but same-day might be pushing it so I'm gonna do that probably call a couple local places like maybe Maz Works has one in stock but I doubt it so fingers crossed now we are onto major speed bump number two and that's that we didn't order enough fuel line so Alberto just started kind of mocking everything up up there and it looks like we're gonna be about kind of short so I don't think it's gonna be possible anymore to start the skyline tonight I'm sorry I was excited too but being realistic without fuel you know we can't start the car right so I don't know what to tell you guys but yeah we both decided that we're just gonna call it an early night that way tomorrow it can be finished up it's musicals second anniversary of our wedding tomorrow so I'm gonna be spending the day with her and unfortunately I won't be able to really cover any of the progress that Alberto makes tomorrow I'm assuming he'll probably try to film as much as he can but we are trying to make it to the dyno on Saturday so it's not gonna be able to be as in detail as we would want but anyway I'm should be back from around the time that we'll be starting this thing I just think it's funny look at how much heat protection there is going on in here look at all that stuff it's crazy we didn't even have the turbo blanket on either it's gonna look like a sea of he trapped in there got a care package from AEM with some stuff that we're gonna use to build an intake system for the r32 so I went with the biggest possible pipe I could find and the biggest filter that I could fit in here because the bigger the pipe you got the more turbo noise are gonna I could just run a filter right off the turbo but I want to get it down here since there's a hood scoop that'll let some fresh air flow in here and then we won't have all the heat just sucking into the motor there we go nothing too crazy but should get some pretty echoey sweet whoosh noises in there and if you notice it's rad having the ECU master stand alone we don't have to have a stupid map in here anymore so just a nice clean piece of pipe of course got their little filter sock thing here - he's really rather - started running recently when I realize that s13 air filters were filling up with rubber and stuff in the track so I believe people use these to run like hydrogen lock because they're a little bit water resistant but the main thing is just to keep all the dirt and debris on the filter without restricting air flow so if you like filters we got you a filter for your filters filter alright so I have some pretty bad news but it is what it is so I did wind up finding a place called advanced drive line that can normally do driveshaft modifications and make new drive shafts really fast and they said that they could do it same day so I brought them the drive trap that I borrowed from my friend and I wasn't having add length to it obviously I would have to buy a new drive shaft for my friend so they're gonna do that but I got a call saying that they weren't gonna be able to do it today which kind of sucks because I have a drive shaft coming next week and I was trying to do this just so I could get on the diner tomorrow so now I have to essentially buy the drive shaft we'll buy a new one for my friend that I borrowed it from and pay for the one that they already started making the r32 is to go into the dyno tomorrow but I will try to drive out to Tampa to get Martin to tune in next week in the meantime we are going to be doing the s13 and 350z so we are actually gonna be doing a little mod 2013 that's gonna let us probably make about an extra horsepower kind of crazy it's funny now that the skyline projects like fresh in our heads looking at the engine bay of the s13 there's so much stuff that can be cleaned up and done differently in lines that could be ran and made out of different stuff and we can make this thing so much nicer if you guess that I'd be doing a coil pack conversion then you guessed right 10 mil on the zip zip what we have here is a 30 year old coil pack from my F star Toni that I've been running it works well but when you make over 22 pounds of boost they don't like you so they start to give out and that's the reason why we've been limited with my car and power so I'm going to be replacing you it with not an LS go back or an RA coil pack but a vq coil pack we can delete the igniter and these will handle much more boost and they were direct bolt up to the factory harness and to the valve cover so literally we'll just take the boot off the other one can use the same bolt hole to hold it in and it uses the same exact plug so very easy conversion on the nests are the boots don't fit on the vq coil packs perfectly so what I do is I just like took them and then just kind of like push them on before I put the V Q coil pack in that way we're not getting water or anything in there especially with my vented hood so just kind of like sits on there all nice like not the prettiest looking thing in the world but it works it took me a little bit of finagling with the wiring to get it so I could actually get the coil pack cover to sit on technically speaking you don't need one of these I want to say that Martin told me you could just basically delete the igniter and then connect all the wires except the middle one that's essentially what this does without having to do any icky splicing this is just something out wiring specialty cells Alberta can you give me any sort of science the explanation as to why we don't need the igniter anymore I know those other coils are called Smart coils because they don't need one but what does that mean this old prehistoric dinosaur looking thing these things all right you computer this will have a high output driver so I need this thing to convert lower output to high output coils so like in the new McCoy's already have that built in so you don't need that garbage now those coil effects that I use may or may not have been questionable coil packs from both of my 350z builds so fingers crossed that it starts with no misfires if so at least I know it's the coil packs not anything else important fact you don't need a tune to change a coil packs all right so I guess I probably should have researched us a little bit more because I didn't miss one very crucial step and let's just say Martin was very happy that I didn't start a fire so if we're looking at the connector like this they all have different color wires so it can kind of be confusing but for two three and four red is on top what we're gonna have to do is actually reap in the bottom two ones we're gonna have to swap them on each single one so it's kind of tricky if you've never done this before Alberto give me a hand and kind of showed me the easiest way so we just take a flathead pry this little yellow thing out here kinda hard to do and film at the same time probably why there's no good videos on this and once you get that yellow thing up all you got to do is pry the little gray tab back and then you can just pull the wire right out then you just swap them not easy on here that you can see they're a little bit worn though so I'm gonna go over an electrical tape these to make sure they don't hit each other and run it isn't rot nook it's definitely something that it only does at low rpm I'm hoping it's something just rattling but Alberto thinks it might be piston slop that's so scary sounding are we just watching it slowly kill itself that sounds very bad mr. boost again Martin to the rescue called them up he says apparently with aluminum flywheels I guess that's just a thing so sometimes when I have that Loki Idol it'll do that and that's okay Mino Berto are sitting here like freaking out worrying but there's gnarly new noise that we just found but uh I guess it's nothing to worry about so I'm really excited to get this thing on the dyno and hopefully make more power at the same boost and maybe see what this g25 550 can do no one really has any numbers on an SR so it'd be rad to see so one thing that we've learned like how great Nicole looks Nicole can't walk on the Swiss tracks of heels or she gets stuck in a possible I just well everyone in Orlando knows measure you like everyone in this like Central Florida area knows a Michigan station to get e85 that's where we get all our ud5 from so it's possible that like it just doesn't make sense because that one containers that same containers that we've been using for all the other as a new batch that's what we we don't know it was even if it's a new
