Building a V8 powered tesla, WHATS TAKING SO LONG

**The V8 Tesla: A Labor of Love**

As I walked into my garage, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement and nervousness. My friend Chad had been working on his car, a beautiful V8 Tesla, for weeks, and he was finally ready to show it off. The car was surrounded by tools, wires, and other equipment, giving it a makeshift workshop vibe.

Chad noticed my interest in the project and began to explain his process. He started by saying that he had been using an autofill browser extension while checking out, but I couldn't see his card information due to privacy concerns. He then showed me how he could add spend limits to each card and even make it a single-use card that would close immediately after the transaction went through.

As we talked, Chad mentioned that he was "eliminating what we don't need." He explained that he had been running through his projects and noticed that he didn't need half of the wires. He had simplified the process by eliminating unnecessary components, leaving only the essential ones. This included a harness that was previously around 6 inches in diameter, which Chad reduced to a smaller size.

Next, we discussed the car's electrical system. Chad mentioned that he had installed a new seat belt and removed the old one, which was stained and worn out. He also showed me how he used 3M spray to protect the wiring from damage caused by exposure to the sun. This process involved spraying the Super 77 adhesive onto the wires to keep them smooth and flat.

Chad then pointed out a section of the car's firewall that looked like a spaceship. He joked that it was like something out of a sci-fi movie, with all the strange components and wiring. As we looked closer, we noticed a series of sounds coming from within the car. Chad explained that the sound deadening material had been installed to reduce noise levels.

The next part of the project involved welding two knuckle bolts together to create a new linkage system for the front wheels. Chad discussed how this would make it easier to maneuver the car around the yard, as both wheels would be connected and move in unison. However, he encountered a problem when trying to attach a pipe to one of the bolt points. The pipe was too large, and he couldn't fit it into the designated area.

Chad's problem-solving skills kicked in, and he came up with a creative solution. He decided to weld the pipe in place instead of dropping the end bolted into position. This would create a new point of attachment for the linkage system. As we worked on this section, Chad joked about it being a "classic case of modern problems requiring modern spotting solutions."

The project was far from over, and Chad mentioned that next week's episode would be different. He had found something interesting in the desert with his friend Steve, and they were excited to share their discoveries with us.

**A New Direction**

As I watched Chad work on his car, I couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration for his dedication and problem-solving skills. The V8 Tesla project was a labor of love, and Chad's passion was evident in every step of the process. From simplifying the electrical system to welding pipes into place, Chad had tackled each challenge with creativity and determination.

As we talked about the project, I realized that Chad's approach to problem-solving was inspiring. He didn't shy away from difficult situations but instead used them as opportunities to innovate and improve his work. This mindset is something that we can all learn from, whether it's in our personal or professional lives.

The V8 Tesla project may have started as a DIY endeavor, but it had become something much more than that. It was a testament to Chad's skills and creativity, as well as his willingness to take on new challenges and push the boundaries of what's possible. As I watched him work, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to see this project come together.

**A New Beginning**

As I left Chad's garage, I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement about the future. The V8 Tesla project was just one chapter in an ongoing story, and I had no doubt that Chad would continue to push the boundaries of what's possible with his car. The desert adventure mentioned next week was sure to be just as interesting, and I looked forward to seeing what Chad and Steve had discovered.

As I walked back into my own garage, I couldn't help but feel a sense of appreciation for the work that Chad had done on his car. It was more than just a project – it was a reflection of his passion and dedication to his craft. The V8 Tesla was now a testament to Chad's skills, and I knew that I would be watching with interest as he continued to explore new possibilities.

The car strut Chad mentioned earlier was one that had been making bad noises, but after installing a new wheel speed sensor, the problem was resolved. The antenna for the key fob and the parking brake module were also relocated to their respective places within the car.

As I reflected on the project, I realized that it was more than just a car – it was a symbol of Chad's creativity and determination. The V8 Tesla was now more than just a machine; it was a representation of his passion and commitment to excellence.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: ena very flattering angle yeah you like what you're doing okay don't spread too far hey guys richard richie builds here and we are back with the ebay special that is the v8 swap tesla aka iced tea and a lot of people think the names due to the color of the car which is the color of iced tea but that's not the case it's iced tea i standing for internal combustion engine and then t like tesla internal combustion engine tesla now i can't take credit for that steven named it which people seem to like better than the original name i gave it which was angela angela a character from the show called westworld played by elon musk's ex-wife and the joke was there's two things that elon doesn't want to see his ex-wife or someone putting a v8 in a tesla so i combined the two okay okay shut up shut up iced tea it is now today we're going back to basics and taking a break from the van build for our homeless assistant linda because she needs time to recover from her surgery as do we and get back to iced tea now people kept complaining about oh i want to see it run rich what's taking so long rich we need an update rich see things take a long time now there's youtube channels that have been working on projects for eight years and they still aren't running we're on part four guys give me a break you troglodytes this car is gonna be one of one and the only one like it in the world now you'll see a lot of tv shows where they build cars in one episode and drive them for three feet and they say okay show's over you know why you never see those cars again because they fell apart in the parking lot or didn't even make it out of the garage you don't see this often but all the cars built here are driven hard i don't hide them away i drive my cars and the v8 tesla is no exception so because i don't want it to fall apart we're taking our time and doing it right in 2021 you're gonna see this car everywhere so it has to perform today i'll be bringing ice tea from joshua's house to the electrified garage joshua cut up the transmission tunnel in iced tea so far and now we're gonna bring it to the shop and get back to work but before that i need to remove the subframe with the rear differential and put a stock tesla subframe in there for transport so i'll need to transfer the suspension over from one car to the next this episode's gonna be behind the scenes on what goes on with the build while it's not glamorous it's still necessary let's get to work josh there's a little backpack it's adorable let's see joshua not bad for your first time not really not bad thanks buddy all right she's all strapped down i got one strap in the front one in the rear another one in the rear and another one on the front right there and then of course before we go anywhere you had to do this it's not going anywhere yep it's good let's call it oh here we are boys and girls we are back with the v8 tesla swap a lot of you uh whiners and complainers said meow meow here it is all the parts that we got from this car are literally from ebay so make sure you go online right now and download the ebay motors app that's very important because this is pretty much the driving force behind finishing this car like all the interior wiring stuff all the stuff we're getting off ebay so it's super important check them out and the stuff you want to buy from us that we decided that we're going to get seriously yeah we have a pile of stuff that we'll show you guys in a bit but uh that we want to sell too so we're all going to put that on ebay too how about it today hopefully stephen could do some sound deadening which would be very helpful for us and we're going to pull out the remainder of the dead wiring in the car too a lot of the wiring was dead remember this car was on a flood gonna have uh chad myself and brian and stevonn pull out the remaining failed wiring harnesses that are in each door uh chad's gonna replace all the speakers i'm gonna be on the safety devices the seat belts are replacing all those i'm also going to be pulling out the headliner as well and pulling out a lot of the trunks that we don't need for example there's the autopilot camera which we're not going to have in this car the car will not have autopilot anymore and i'm pulling that out and i'm going to be selling that on um where should i sell that craigslist now that we got the car from joshua's and we'll be making a little bit more progress here because you know josh was a one-man team but we have a whole team here to help us so we'll be getting making a lot more progress uh as time goes on because that's what happens on the night shift at eg exactly yeah right chad absolutely there's no hole in these right this is one of the only pairs of pants that actually don't have a hole there will be anything now if you keep doing that spread it well this is where the transmission tunnel is going to go the uh the drive shaft came in as well that took about what 12 weeks i think like 12 weeks to come in and we're still waiting on the axles too but the driveshaft is here which is good again this is where it's going to sit in the car uh this is just rocked in it's not finished yet um but we have a lot of work to do so basically all of this wiring has to go these uh seat belt retractors these have to go too because they're all if you look at there's like a big pile of rust because they've been sitting for so long the door panels those have to be replaced too look at this this cone is not supposed to be that color yeah it looks like it's going to disintegrate yeah that's going to just don't touch it too hard yeah exactly this is all all the wiring in the doors have to go and we're going to change the wiring the doors uh give the car a good vacuum we're gonna peel these harnesses back because i think chad we're not using these harnesses are we using the ones that are on the floor yeah we're using we have to peel these harnesses out because we're gonna use the modified ones that brian's using um on the floor over there so all this has to come out the car is going to get stripped down even further well the main issue is it's this car is an all-wheel drive yeah the donor car for the electronics is two-wheel drive so the harnesses are completely different so trying to meld that harness to this harness it's just not worth it right we can gut this the most the connectors we need are going to be the same plugs so like the door harnesses to this will do the same the hatch what happens is on the all-wheel drive the hatches are actually plugged in here instead of up here yeah so i'm gonna have to uh create an adapter to create you know connected those but i've already done that for another customer so it's not that big of a deal okay so a lot of it's mainly this this half that i'm gonna have to adapt the rest of it it's just gonna be straight plug and play yeah because only running the most basic of functions in the back of the vehicle hatch open hatch close doors uh door actuators and tail lights turn signals yeah and uh rear lighting as well but besides that there's not too much else what are you doing brian you look guilty we're doing doing i'm doing things yeah you're doing stuff this looks like a tesla wiring harness what are you doing to it so you said are you tripping the copper out to sell it on the internet yeah exactly that you caught me i'm in so much trouble now you literally i mean this is so much copper here um but yeah what i'm doing is this is the body harness and there are all these connectors in here for things that we're not going to be using okay and in the name of weight reduction damn right we're going to be stripping out everything we can okay so what i'm doing is i'm taking the harness looking from like this where it's got all your coatings and everything to protect it and just getting each wire exposed so when we do find something you can strip out we go right back to the connector i gotcha and pull it all out all right i respect that it's all in the name of weight reduction mm-hmm yeah how many pounds are we saving from this brian is that a recycled ball of electrical tape yes this is this is all the electrical tape that i pulled off the harness do we have like a budget we have a serious budget here wow they were recycling here it was recycling very nicely yeah i mean that's pretty impressive there's a lot of stuff in this harness that we're not going to need obviously we're not going to need a high voltage connection anymore for the battery packs nope the logic is going to go yeah um we've got plugs for the chargers which obviously they're not going to need that anymore yeah so the idea is to just strip a lot of complexity out of this and use what we do need um so stuff like you know the rear door latches we need that um park distance control i don't think we're gonna need i don't think we're gonna need that now well we're going we don't need to park this thing exactly exactly you're gonna be using the e-brake to park it anyway so right um do you plan on putting a uh hydraulic e-brake in this i was not planning on putting hydraulically breaking it no why would you do some nice things i know i know i know we were actually talking about that yesterday just doing it so we could rip that e-brake you know when you want to get into that power slide drift type thing you know you just kind of whack that real quick yeah yeah yeah lily let's get the end out we could but again you know we're on a budget we still have that ball of electrical tape that we're trying to get yeah there we go you can tell who is the theater guy because um yeah this is what we do on strike all the time as we take all the gaffers taper pulling on strike yeah when you tear down a set oh i think i've been like strikers and like we're not gonna do we're not gonna prance around our underwear like i don't know what theater strike is but all right that's good to know so strike means yeah strike me tear something down so when you get to the end of a show and you have to demolish your set it's referred to as striking the set gotcha so you're not on strike like you pay us more it's a strike you take that down i learned something today okay conveniently located oh yeah very conveniently located all right there we go now we're talking what do we have the autopilot camera so i'm removing this to save weight and to actually save money because we're gonna sell this and uh hopefully uh make a couple of dollars from it because we're not gonna need this where we're going that's going straight on ebay it's going directly on ebay so let's see if you need an autopilot camera to retrofit your pre-autopilot car to ap1 then you know you'll be seeing this on ebay pretty soon but uh this car will not have autopilot uh disclaimer you'll need this plus many others yeah you'll need you exactly you'll need this plus 1100 additional accessories will be needed to make autopilot work right exactly yeah right a lot of this is connected to the um the headliner but there's a lot of harnesses that run in the headliner will be taking out too we're leaving the lighting harnesses but other stuff is gonna go to save weight time and just uh complexity all the stuff we don't gonna need cleanliness cleanliness we gotta keep it clean so fun fact about the teslas yeah this headliner does not fit through the trunk it's supposed to go out here isn't it because it goes to the windshield that's the way it was made it would when the car is made the windshield's not there they put it in they go yeah so the way i got that before i just fold it i fold it in half yeah exactly try to give it after the hatch you legitimately have to fold it yeah i think i ended up folding it and bringing out one of the rear doors this is a pain then he creased the alcantara and never used it again yeah yeah so that's that's the problem like they build everything through the windshield hole on this so everything comes in this way so they never even thought about opening the rear so when you're in service to do something like this you have to pull the windshield so i got really good at glass at tesla because of that yeah we had we had a brand new car that had a hole in the headliner from uh tow truck driver whatever like yeah i don't know how he i grabbed he did something a woman's high heel mark it was that's what it really was it was the tow truck driver yeah yeah there's an actual hole in the headliner yeah you know here's a brand new car so we had to change it out and the mandatory times i'll just pull it through hatch i've done quite a bit of glazing you've seen something i've done these quarter glasses too these are these are fun they leak i wouldn't i wouldn't wish that on anyone yeah my leave i was leaking in dolores for a while and then i still listen to this and then i normally has it and the problem is still the end of this day so all right what are we doing look at this the reality is it's going to be a lot louder yeah this is going to be a loud drive chef warren in the back oh yeah the side pipes coming out yeah so we're just uh redoing the sound ending back here this is the this is the oem sound deadening and it's kind of not doing so well yeah so uh yeah look at that i mean honestly look at who did this i think tussle went and got went to home depot and got that roof flat yeah that's the ice and water shield yeah it says grayson yeah oh my goodness and then chad he's doing the front speakers which aren't as fun as the rears the door harnesses are even worse and then look at this only all the metal shavings in there some staining yeah yeah this is kind of nasty this has definitely been in some water for a while yeah the chad's fixing that he's replacing all the wiring up front we have the remaining wiring harnesses that are going to be going into the car uh this is going to be the front passenger side and the front driver's side the two rears were already done let's see if it's working on the back i'm still going at this it's you know ryan's still going with that the wiring harness is tedious shall we check what are you doing just naked wiring harness looks like a naked bull rat what's going on here chad that's the idea so what we're gonna do is try to get this laid out back in the car where it originally was and then start just to sit dissecting it oh so so brian he took off the he took off all the cheating the seating that came together but now you're actually going to go back and take what we don't need right some of the stuff has bus communication that jumpstarts this is the big the big main connector behind the chargers and it crosses over to the other harness so some of the buses jump this way yep i trust you chad oh boy yeah i will i'm sure i'll pay for that later one hour later chad chad i trusted you and then what i'm gonna do is i'm gonna go take a nap right over here no but in all seriousness what i do have to do is we remove the old seat belts from the car that's the old flooded seat belt these are the rear seat belts for the rear occupants and this is the new one the non-flooded ones so i have to replace these old ones with the new ones to make sure the passengers are nice and safe isn't that right to be safe safety theory race car safety third third third well let's add some more uh 10 millimeters since for some reason rich keeps losing them so we're gonna keep going enough keep going we'll need a few more than that you know this all right and one more to cart just for two more two more just yeah that should add to cart edit yeah are using privacy.com no dude you gotta use privacy.com why dude listen it manages your financial life online get this right let me show you what it does it generates virtual numbers to mask your bait master master mask your bank account information hmm perfect right yeah yeah we should try it let me show you some more stuff out of it ready all right you never have to worry about giving it out to people you don't know online and you can decide who can charge your card how much and how often and you can cancel any time but if you head to privacy.com rebuilds it's free and you get five dollars to spend on your first purchase chad okay so you go to checkout and there's a fancy autofill browser extension no you can't see my card you grape nuts you can add spend limits to each card and even make it a single used card that will close immediately after the transaction goes through i mean i'm not buying this for you but you could put your information in and then you do it oh so yeah i know life's hard thanks chad chad where are we i just i i always notice you playing with these funny wires looks like a lot of fun what are you doing right now chad so i'm eliminating what we don't need okay so i'm running through it and pretty much this entire half of the plug i don't need all i need is these two wires and then this is just for the wheel speed sensor so we went from a harness being about that big around to this how big around was it yeah i could see that so we got our um hatch module and the parking brake module still back here tail light wiring we can even put the subwoofer back in i hope so i like my base so what goes underneath the car is that like so we have the parking brakes yep the antenna for the key fob and then the wheel speed sensors okay that's it all right and i am switching the seat belts over this is the nice elecanterra one and i'm switching from this crummy one that was painted so i'm going to take this good seat belt that doesn't have any of the staining in it like this one does right here i'm gonna go for a nice new seat belt and put it in this one which is nice and new i also use some of the the 3m spray the super 77 to spray this down so it's nice and flat you can see it's nice and smooth now because this is in the sun it was baking and delaminating the entire time so i resprayed it now it's on nice and tight so this is going to be transferred to this one along with this matte black cap instead of this really weird looking painted one baby doll we've got chrome on the inside let's go let's go firewalls good we'll do the floorboards once we get more of the welding straightened out look at this it looks like a spaceship in here it is it's like flight of the net ah you bastard that's my line i'm going to say it again i was going to say that i'll let you have this how about pop in here let's see how the sound deadening is it's i mean you're not gonna be you're gonna be able to hear me right now the whole point of this is so we'll harry scream no one can hear your cries all right let's see all right chad let's see how we do this hey want to start screaming go no one of you screams how about that no one can hear your screams yeah perfect you could turn down a little bit beautiful this one yeah that's one there's a car strut this one was making some really bad noises which i don't think has a gear box left in it so yeah nice you're making a lot of damn noise this time of night brian what are you doing oh i love making noise oh yeah we know that it's smoking too so what's happening here is that both of our front wheels are currently independent of each other so whenever we're trying to move this car around the yard it uh just wants to go whichever which way right so we are going to take these bolts so we're going to go into these knuckle bolt points okay um these are where the tie rod ends would go in and so we'll weld this guy in place or we'll drop this end bolted in and then weld this pipe here and on the other end so that there's a linkage between them right so when this wheel moves it's moving unison that wheel moves with it that'll make it a lot easier floppy jalopy i like it you know brian this is a classic case of modern problems require modern spotting solutions that's right damn right i love it so that's where we find out that i can't actually hit this pipe in here that's how things usually go red she's laying pipe we need help it's land pipe oh yeah how's the penetration yeah that was just attack anyways thank you lord vader great work okay boys and girls yes this is where we're at with the v8 tesla the wiring is a long and tedious process but you all deserves an update we're gonna keep working on this until it becomes something where it's showing again now next week's episode's gonna be a little bit different steve and i found ourselves in the desert and we found some interesting things there i can't wait for you guys to see it youa very flattering angle yeah you like what you're doing okay don't spread too far hey guys richard richie don't think we're gonna need that now well we're going we don't need to park this thing exactly exactly you're gonna be using the e-brake to park it anyway so right um do you plan on putting a uh hydraulic e-brake in this i was not planning on putting hydraulically breaking it no why would you do some nice things i know i know i know we were actually talking about that yesterday just doing it so we could rip that e-brake you know when you want to get into that power slide drift type thing you know you just kind of whack that real quick yeah yeah yeah lily let's get the end out we could but again you know we're on a budget we still have that ball of electrical tape that we're trying to get yeah there we go you can tell who is the theater guy because um yeah this is what we do on strike all the time as we take all the gaffers taper pulling on strike yeah when you tear down a set oh i think i've been like strikers and like we're not gonna do we're not gonna prance around our underwear like i don't know what theater strike is but all right that's good to know so strike means yeah strike me tear something down so when you get to the end of a show and you have to demolish your set it's referred to as striking the set gotcha so you're not on strike like you pay us more it's a strike you take that down i learned something today okay conveniently located oh yeah very conveniently located all right there we go now we're talking what do we have the autopilot camera so i'm removing this to save weight and to actually save money because we're gonna sell this and uh hopefully uh make a couple of dollars from it because we're not gonna need this where we're going that's going straight on ebay it's going directly on ebay so let's see if you need an autopilot camera to retrofit your pre-autopilot car to ap1 then you know you'll be seeing this on ebay pretty soon but uh this car will not have autopilot uh disclaimer you'll need this plus many others yeah you'll need you exactly you'll need this plus 1100 additional accessories will be needed to make autopilot work right exactly yeah right a lot of this is connected to the um the headliner but there's a lot of harnesses that run in the headliner will be taking out too we're leaving the lighting harnesses but other stuff is gonna go to save weight time and just uh complexity all the stuff we don't gonna need cleanliness cleanliness we gotta keep it clean so fun fact about the teslas yeah this headliner does not fit through the trunk it's supposed to go out here isn't it because it goes to the windshield that's the way it was made it would when the car is made the windshield's not there they put it in they go yeah so the way i got that before i just fold it i fold it in half yeah exactly try to give it after the hatch you legitimately have to fold it yeah i think i ended up folding it and bringing out one of the rear doors this is a pain then he creased the alcantara and never used it again yeah yeah so that's that's the problem like they build everything through the windshield hole on this so everything comes in this way so they never even thought about opening the rear so when you're in service to do something like this you have to pull the windshield so i got really good at glass at tesla because of that yeah we had we had a brand new car that had a hole in the headliner from uh tow truck driver whatever like yeah i don't know how he i grabbed he did something a woman's high heel mark it was that's what it really was it was the tow truck driver yeah yeah there's an actual hole in the headliner yeah you know here's a brand new car so we had to change it out and the mandatory times i'll just pull it through hatch i've done quite a bit of glazing you've seen something i've done these quarter glasses too these are these are fun they leak i wouldn't i wouldn't wish that on anyone yeah my leave i was leaking in dolores for a while and then i still listen to this and then i normally has it and the problem is still the end of this day so all right what are we doing look at this the reality is it's going to be a lot louder yeah this is going to be a loud drive chef warren in the back oh yeah the side pipes coming out yeah so we're just uh redoing the sound ending back here this is the this is the oem sound deadening and it's kind of not doing so well yeah so uh yeah look at that i mean honestly look at who did this i think tussle went and got went to home depot and got that roof flat yeah that's the ice and water shield yeah it says grayson yeah oh my goodness and then chad he's doing the front speakers which aren't as fun as the rears the door harnesses are even worse and then look at this only all the metal shavings in there some staining yeah yeah this is kind of nasty this has definitely been in some water for a while yeah the chad's fixing that he's replacing all the wiring up front we have the remaining wiring harnesses that are going to be going into the car uh this is going to be the front passenger side and the front driver's side the two rears were already done let's see if it's working on the back i'm still going at this it's you know ryan's still going with that the wiring harness is tedious shall we check what are you doing just naked wiring harness looks like a naked bull rat what's going on here chad that's the idea so what we're gonna do is try to get this laid out back in the car where it originally was and then start just to sit dissecting it oh so so brian he took off the he took off all the cheating the seating that came together but now you're actually going to go back and take what we don't need right some of the stuff has bus communication that jumpstarts this is the big the big main connector behind the chargers and it crosses over to the other harness so some of the buses jump this way yep i trust you chad oh boy yeah i will i'm sure i'll pay for that later one hour later chad chad i trusted you and then what i'm gonna do is i'm gonna go take a nap right over here no but in all seriousness what i do have to do is we remove the old seat belts from the car that's the old flooded seat belt these are the rear seat belts for the rear occupants and this is the new one the non-flooded ones so i have to replace these old ones with the new ones to make sure the passengers are nice and safe isn't that right to be safe safety theory race car safety third third third well let's add some more uh 10 millimeters since for some reason rich keeps losing them so we're gonna keep going enough keep going we'll need a few more than that you know this all right and one more to cart just for two more two more just yeah that should add to cart edit yeah are using privacy.com no dude you gotta use privacy.com why dude listen it manages your financial life online get this right let me show you what it does it generates virtual numbers to mask your bait master master mask your bank account information hmm perfect right yeah yeah we should try it let me show you some more stuff out of it ready all right you never have to worry about giving it out to people you don't know online and you can decide who can charge your card how much and how often and you can cancel any time but if you head to privacy.com rebuilds it's free and you get five dollars to spend on your first purchase chad okay so you go to checkout and there's a fancy autofill browser extension no you can't see my card you grape nuts you can add spend limits to each card and even make it a single used card that will close immediately after the transaction goes through i mean i'm not buying this for you but you could put your information in and then you do it oh so yeah i know life's hard thanks chad chad where are we i just i i always notice you playing with these funny wires looks like a lot of fun what are you doing right now chad so i'm eliminating what we don't need okay so i'm running through it and pretty much this entire half of the plug i don't need all i need is these two wires and then this is just for the wheel speed sensor so we went from a harness being about that big around to this how big around was it yeah i could see that so we got our um hatch module and the parking brake module still back here tail light wiring we can even put the subwoofer back in i hope so i like my base so what goes underneath the car is that like so we have the parking brakes yep the antenna for the key fob and then the wheel speed sensors okay that's it all right and i am switching the seat belts over this is the nice elecanterra one and i'm switching from this crummy one that was painted so i'm going to take this good seat belt that doesn't have any of the staining in it like this one does right here i'm gonna go for a nice new seat belt and put it in this one which is nice and new i also use some of the the 3m spray the super 77 to spray this down so it's nice and flat you can see it's nice and smooth now because this is in the sun it was baking and delaminating the entire time so i resprayed it now it's on nice and tight so this is going to be transferred to this one along with this matte black cap instead of this really weird looking painted one baby doll we've got chrome on the inside let's go let's go firewalls good we'll do the floorboards once we get more of the welding straightened out look at this it looks like a spaceship in here it is it's like flight of the net ah you bastard that's my line i'm going to say it again i was going to say that i'll let you have this how about pop in here let's see how the sound deadening is it's i mean you're not gonna be you're gonna be able to hear me right now the whole point of this is so we'll harry scream no one can hear your cries all right let's see all right chad let's see how we do this hey want to start screaming go no one of you screams how about that no one can hear your screams yeah perfect you could turn down a little bit beautiful this one yeah that's one there's a car strut this one was making some really bad noises which i don't think has a gear box left in it so yeah nice you're making a lot of damn noise this time of night brian what are you doing oh i love making noise oh yeah we know that it's smoking too so what's happening here is that both of our front wheels are currently independent of each other so whenever we're trying to move this car around the yard it uh just wants to go whichever which way right so we are going to take these bolts so we're going to go into these knuckle bolt points okay um these are where the tie rod ends would go in and so we'll weld this guy in place or we'll drop this end bolted in and then weld this pipe here and on the other end so that there's a linkage between them right so when this wheel moves it's moving unison that wheel moves with it that'll make it a lot easier floppy jalopy i like it you know brian this is a classic case of modern problems require modern spotting solutions that's right damn right i love it so that's where we find out that i can't actually hit this pipe in here that's how things usually go red she's laying pipe we need help it's land pipe oh yeah how's the penetration yeah that was just attack anyways thank you lord vader great work okay boys and girls yes this is where we're at with the v8 tesla the wiring is a long and tedious process but you all deserves an update we're gonna keep working on this until it becomes something where it's showing again now next week's episode's gonna be a little bit different steve and i found ourselves in the desert and we found some interesting things there i can't wait for you guys to see it you\n"
