iOS 17 Public Beta - More Features & Review

iPhone 15 Release Date and Potential Shortages

With the release date of the iPhone 15 still shrouded in mystery, fans are eagerly awaiting any information that might shed some light on when they can get their hands on the new device. According to recent reports, it seems like Apple may be releasing everything at once again, which could lead to major shortages for the Pro and Pro Max models. This means that if you're not one of the first people to pre-order, you may have to wait until October at the earliest to get your hands on these devices. The thought of waiting months for a device that's been highly anticipated is daunting, especially when considering that Apple has already faced supply chain issues in the past.

TSMC and Apple's Chip Manufacturing Plant in Arizona

Apple's longtime supplier, TSMC, has been working on building a chip manufacturing plant in Arizona, but they're facing major hurdles that are causing delays in the mass production of the forthcoming 4-nanometer chips. According to the Wall Street Journal, TSMC is having difficulty hiring skilled workers with expertise in building semiconductor factories in the US. This shortage is forcing the company to look elsewhere for help, potentially by bringing in experienced technicians from Taiwan, which would delay production until at least 2025. The struggles of TSMC highlight the challenges that Apple and its suppliers face when it comes to keeping up with demand for new devices.

Rare iPhone 2G Auction

For fans of rare iPhones, a recent auction has set a record-breaking price for an unopened original iPhone. The device, which was sold at $190,000, is considered a Holy Grail among iPhone collectors due to its extreme scarcity and limited production run. The iPhone 2G debuted in 2007 alongside the 8GB model and was hampered by slow sales. As a result, Apple discontinued the 4GB model just over two months after it was released.

Magician's Air Tag Adventure

In a bizarre incident, a magician had his luggage go missing at Newark Liberty International Airport. The man had $1,500 worth of equipment in his bag and also had an AirTag inside to track its location. After waiting at baggage claim, he noticed that the luggage was still on the tarmac and not being moved. Despite showing the issue to United Airlines customer support, the airline refused to help, suggesting that they couldn't do anything about it. The magician came up with a plan to get his bag back, by buying a refundable ticket, going through security again, and then looking for his luggage at gate 90. Eventually, he found an employee who was helpful and returned his bag to him. However, the next day, United Airlines still had not located the missing bag and informed the magician that they would send it to him as soon as they found it.

Apple's Customer Support: A Case Study

The story of the magician's Air Tag adventure highlights the importance of customer support. Despite initial frustration and a lack of understanding from United Airlines staff, the magician was eventually able to get his bag back with the help of one employee who took the time to listen and find a solution. This incident serves as a reminder that sometimes, all it takes is one person to make a difference in resolving an issue.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwhat's up guys my name is Brandon and welcome back to Apple weekly in this episode we're going to discuss even more iOS 17 features and changes we're going to discuss Apple's plans to take on chat GPT why the iPhone 15 might get delayed a record-breaking iPhone auction a hilarious air tag story and much more and as always if you want to stay updated with all things Apple click that subscribe button down below and don't forget to check out the Apple Den newsletter alright so let's start by talking about even more iOS 17 features and changes before discussing what to expect next week so first off if we head into our settings and then go down to Siri and search and then if we change our language to the United Kingdom Under English you will notice that we have new voices for British you can see it's actually downloading right now voice 2 is a new option in this latest version of iOS 17. there's a new splash screen for Apple music and it adds the song credits at the bottom right there now I took this video recording on July 14th can see and I'm tapping on continue and just nothing is happening so I eventually had to swipe down to get out of that but I found that to be a really strange bug that I had not seen before with a splash screen now another change that I mentioned briefly is inside of the messages application so if you go to the Emoji section and you search for an emoji like if I search for shake for example I'm comparing this to iOS 16 over here by the way you will notice that we have the emoji button down in the bottom left hand corner whereas before on iOS 16 it was in the bottom right and when you tap on that it just takes you back to the Emojis and then you can go back to your keyboard now earlier in beta 1 there was actually a done button down here in the bottom right that would take you right back to the regular keyboard but for some reason that's not there right now hopefully that does get added back to make it easier to get back to actually typing after searching for an emoji if we head back into our settings and go to focus and then go into one of our Focus modes and then go to options you will notice we have silence notifications and this is something else I'm mentioned in my what's new video but it was very brief and I think a lot of people overlook this feature and this allows you to silence notifications also while locked so instead of always silencing notifications which is how it was in iOS 16. now when you have this Focus mode enabled you can actually change it to only silence notifications when you're not on your phone like if you're currently active and scrolling on your phone you can still get notifications if you want to and have them only silenced while your phone is locked so that's really great and adds another layer of flexibility to focus modes and I'll tell you right now I actually use this for my sleep Focus mode because a lot of times my sleep Focus mode turns on before I'm actually in bed and it's nice to be able to get a notification when I'm actually scrolling on my phone before I lock it for the night if we head into the camera settings and then go into preserve settings we have a new toggle here for depth control and this allows you to have the depth control saved so the next time you go into the camera it stays that way for your photos or portraits or your cinematic mode now I'm not the biggest fan of the default stocks application but it's actually growing on me like iOS 16 added some improvements and now with iOS 17 we have more Improvement so if you go into a stock ticker right here you will see next to the price per share of that stock it shows how much it's gone up or down based on the time period below so you can see plus 597 that's on the month on the three months it's up twenty dollars and fifty cents now before in iOS 16 that would only show the previous one day no matter if you selected you know six months or year to date it would always show the you know percentage or the dollar amount that's changed next to the price as only being for the past one day so this is a nice little small Improvement to the stocks application now something I've grown to love a lot after using iOS 17 for a while now is inside of the phone application if you go to the recents tab you will notice that when somebody calls you and they leave a voicemail you no longer need to go to the voicemail tab that voicemail is in line right here here in the recents tab and if you tap on voicemail you'll be able to read you know what that voicemail said and also listen to that voicemail without ever having to go into the voicemail tab if we go into the shortcuts application and then go to the automations Tab and then tap on the plus icon up in the top right hand corner you no longer get the option to choose between a personal automation or a home automation it just presents you with all the personal automations right away and then down at the bottom we do have the home automation right there to create that so I think this just reduces some confusion that we had previously where you had to choose one first before you see any options also up top you will notice that we have a search bar before if you created a personal Automation and swipe down you did not have a search bar so now you can search for automations and also something that really makes a big difference in these personal automations is for Bluetooth for example you can now choose if you want you know this automation to run based on if bluetooth is either connected or disconnected so you now have the option between that or you can select both if if you wanted to run when it's connected and also when it's disconnected you can do that and then also we have the same thing for Wi-Fi so if you go to Wi-Fi you could do either Network join which could be good for like a VPN you could have a VPN run automatically when network is joined or you know turn it off when network is left and then you do also have the run after connection And Eruption there as well that is also new in iOS 17. and then also if you go to any of the focus modes that you want to run as part of an automation if you go into that you will notice that the icons are much smaller and they're up top and we also have the option to choose to run after confirmation or just run immediately now something else I wanted to mention is the amazing Spotlight search on iOS 17. now I've talked about this previously but I really only talked about it in like maybe one or two videos and you may have missed that but you can do so much with Spotlight like for example if I wanted to search for if I just search for settings for example you get all these settings right here under shortcuts if you tap on show more you get all these different things that you can do you know from the spotlight search that you would normally have to go into either your control center or your settings for and if we search for notes for example I can create a new note from right there I've done that several times same with reminders if I go to reminders if I just search for that you will notice that we have some shortcuts right here and it shows my reminders for hot dog buns yogurt carrot cake it shows all that right there which is really nice to have and even for music so it shows some of my recently played playlists and albums and if I tap on new music daily for example it will start playing you know whatever was playing right there you can see it's actually started playing right now and it would also play the other songs or albums from where I left off and also in Spotlight search you can now call somebody so if I type in 281-330-8004 if I type that in you can see up top you could actually call text or FaceTime somebody straight from Spotlight search if you just tap on go and the keyboard down there it will automatically you could see to the left to the right it shows highlighted call so automatically call them and something I mentioned last week but I feel like I should mention again is if you take a screenshot of a full web page and then go to full page and then tap on done you can save to photos now instead of just saving a PDF and then having to convert that to a JPEG or like Stitch it together so I've also noticed that full page screenshots actually work on pretty much every website now so before in the past on iOS 16 certain websites would not give me the option to like you know take a screenshot of the entire page it really only worked for some of the bigger websites but now it even works on the appleden.com right here my newsletter if you haven't signed up already and you will notice that it takes that full page screenshot without any issue now I did also want to touch on a few issues I'm having right now and I've noticed that there are a lot of issues with widgets in this latest version which is public beta 1 AKA developer beta 3. so hopefully beta 4 and public beta 2 fix this but right now my sleep widget always just shows up as blank the clock sometimes freezes and or you know maybe it doesn't even show the time at all sometimes the hours right there are missing and the clock is just kind of showing the time without the numbers there so it's hard to tell what it is so I'm just having a lot of issues with the stock first party widgets and I know you guys are as well and as far as the keyboard disappearing as you can see right on cue my keyboard has just disappeared here in the messages application I cannot tap anywhere nothing happens the keyboard is just completely gone so it is still happening you can see it in real time here maybe if I copy this something will happen or select all no nothing is helping I can't do anything even if I'm tapping there the keyboard is just completely gone and I would have to force quit to get it back so that's still happening in messages but fortunately it is not happening in the spotlight search anymore and I'm still having issues with name drop and airdrop trying to trigger pretty much anytime I have two iOS 17 devices nearby so that's still an issue even when I turn airdrop off it still happens with name drop so hopefully Apple figures that out soon but as far as performance goes I really don't have any complaints in regards to the performance overall it feels really good like I do still have the occasional respring I've had that maybe once this past week but that's up from having one to two a day on earlier beta so I can definitely see the Improvement here and a lot of my feedback is getting response and the feedback application which by the way if you're not reporting your feedback in the feedback application this is your reminder to do so but overall performance I really don't have a ton of issues I think it's actually stable enough now to run on your daily device because even when I have those resprings it's just that it's just the re-spring it's not like a reboot where I you know lose everything or I lose a phone call like I've had my phone respring a couple times while I'm on a FaceTime call but the FaceTime call stays there like I'm still on the line so I still I think it's good enough nowadays for you know a daily device but at this point if you're still on the fence you may as well wait for the next beta because it's probably coming next week so you may as well jump on then but we're getting very close it's almost there but the other drawback I will say is the battery life because battery life is still not great now I will say battery life is good I've noticed a big Improvement especially on watch OS so the first public beta for watch OS 10 has made a big difference on my Apple watch Ultra I'm actually able to get through a couple of days now where I was not able to to on any previous watchos 10 beta so I've not seen as extreme of an improvement on iOS 17 public beta AKA beta 3 but it's good like again it's getting there we're almost there but I still don't think it's as good as iOS 16. and just because I show you every week we're going to go into my main device here and check out the battery stats especially today because I've been using my phone a lot so I'm not expecting great battery life for today as you can see I'm sub 10 at 433 when I woke up you know around nine o'clock in the morning so you'll notice that my battery life is still not great now if we go to the last 10 days you can see not terrible like I said it's still not great it's not iOS 16 levels but you could see kind of how we've done there as far as you know the activity and the battery usage all right so now let's talk about what to expect next from Apple so next week is going to be the final full week of July July 24th next week we should see iOS 17 beta 4 for registered developers and the second public data for public beta testers now that's most likely going to come really any day next week you know we could have actually seen it this past week I'm surprised Apple did not push out the next beta this past week so we really could see it any day next week however I think it's probably going to be on the 25th or the 26th if I had to guess now the reason I say that is because Monday the 24th is most likely when we will see iOS 16.6 get released to the public so for those still on iOS 16 we got the RC this past week we're expecting to see the final release right there on the 24th and then like I said I would expect Apple to release the next developer beta early next week as well followed by the next public beta within 24 to 48 hours after the release of the developer Beta And as always it will be the same build as that developer beta okay so now let's talk about some miscellaneous iOS news before moving on to the main News section of this episode and the first thing I want to talk about is threads if you guys are not following me on threads you can follow me over there I still prefer Twitter as my main you know social media where I talk to you guys and you know share information and news and new videos and things like that threads is cool but you know I'm still a Twitter fan like I still love Twitter the most but anyways this past week we did see the first major threads updates for iOS and you can see we have a few new changes here so we have translations for Threads the follows tab on the activity feed now that's not the following tab for like your main section that's still just jumbled with a lot of stuff that I don't really care about that's the main reason I'm on Twitter and not on threads but anyways you have subscribed to unfollowed users and you can see all the other ones here as well so big major update for the threads app if you are active on that platform if we head into the YouTube application and go to get premium you will notice that we have a price increase on YouTube premium it's now 18.99 a month 19 a month if you subscribe from your iOS device and that is exactly why you should not be subscribing from your Apple device it is cheaper if you just go on your desktop And subscribe through YouTube and not through you know the IOS app store but even if you do subscribe it's straight on YouTube but that price has increased by two dollars a month it's now 14 a month even if you subscribe from the desktop and the family premium plans did not change they're still the same price so that is nice for you guys although you did get a price hike earlier this year and then also YouTube music premium is now 11 a month instead of ten dollars a month so a few price hikes there for YouTube subscriptions and then in related news Netflix added almost 6 million new Global subscribers in the second quarter of 2023 and that came from the earnings report of course this is following the big you know news that they were going to cut down on password sharing and having you know multiple users using the same account so that led to a big big increase in the amount of subscribers all right so now let's move on to the latest Apple news so you guys remember about a month ago when I talked about how Tim Cook and apple are very against AI right now in a sense they were saying that they have privacy concerns accuracy concerns a lot of stuff like that well it seems like they are slowly but surely becoming more Pro generative AI it seems like they're worrying less about the privacy and less about the accuracy maybe just because it's getting better but we now know that to be a fact because there's a new report from Bloomberg that outlines that apple is planning to create something similar to chat GPT and Google bard so according to Bloomberg Apple has built its own framework known as Ajax to create llms and by the way Ajax runs on Google cloud and was built with Google Jacks which is their machine learning framework so apple is testing an AI powered chat Bots that the engineers are calling Apple GPT now the big but here is that Apple has no plans to release this to the public yet so we don't know that this is even going to see the lot of day it's just in development on the back end now this report does say that apple is planning a big announcement related to AI next year in 2024 so that could be huge that could give us some insight as to what to actually expect from this apple GPT and of course the big question that I have and that I talked about in the appleden is that how is this going to be implemented like is it going to be just another version of Siri is Apple going to charge five dollars a month to use this alternate version of Siri how's that going to work I think that's the biggest question we have right now so if you were planning on getting an iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max on launch Day this year you might have an issue with that because reportedly there are going to be extreme shortages with the Pro Models this year especially the pro Max so this comes from a report from the information who claims the apple is using a new manufacturing process for the pro displays and there were issues with the LG made displays now the information is saying that apple is not likely to delay the iPhone 15 launch but instead the pro model goals are going to have severe shortages now this is kind of the opposite of what we heard from a Bank of America analyst who actually got this right in a couple years ago with the iPhone 12 but he claims that the iPhone 15 is going to face a delay this year but only to the tune of a few weeks so he's saying that we could actually not get any iPhone 15s until October so I think we're going to kind of land somewhere in the middle this is just my opinion there's no you know I don't have any inside information but we could see another staggered release this year like we've seen in the past where we just get the iPhone 15s first and then we get a staggered release where we get the Pro Models a couple of weeks or a few weeks later that's personally the way I prefer to have it especially as a Creator so I can make you know those videos without being overwhelmed at first but we could actually see those iPhone 15s released first or you know if Apple decides to just release everything on day one again we're probably just going to have major shortages for the pro and pro Max and you may not actually get those until October at the earliest if you're not one of the first people to pre-order so so we'll have to see what happens here but we have seen multiple reports now about you know if not a delay at least a major shortage of certain devices so that's something to be aware of also tsmc Apple's longtime supplier has been building a chip manufacturing plant in Arizona for a while now but they're facing major hurdles that are causing delays in the mass production for the forthcoming four nanometer chips and this problem is a big one they're not getting enough skilled workers to get the actual job done to get this you know manufacturing plant up and running so according to the Wall Street Journal tsmc is finding it difficult to hire people with expertise in building semiconductor factories in the U.S and they may have to temporarily bring in experienced technicians from Taiwan which would delay production of the first four nanometer chips until 2025. so it just seems like we're having delays on delays for various reasons now with the iPhones and also with those next generation four nanometer chips so do you guys remember a few weeks ago go when I told you about that rare iPhone 2g auction that was going to be going live soon and how it could break the record of the 63 000 iPhone sale in the past and how it could reach up to a hundred thousand dollars yeah well that auction actually ended this past week and it sold for much more than 100k this unopened original iPhone sold for a record-breaking 190 000 and keep in mind this phone was sold for five hundred dollars in 2007. that is a 38 000 Roi that's amazing and if you're wondering why in the world it sold for so much here's a little excerpt from the auction the original four gigabyte motto is considered a Holy Grail amongst iPhone collectors it's extreme scarcity is directly related to its limited production debuting on June 29 2007 alongside the eight gigabyte model the four gigabyte model was hampered by slow sales buyers chose to pay the 100 up charge in exchange for double the storage space the lagging sales resulted in apple making the decision to discontinue the four gigabyte model on September 5th 2007 just over two months after it was released and then finally another crazy well really more of a funny air tag story so a magician was on his way to Newark New Jersey to take part in a local trade show he had around fifteen hundred dollars worth of equipment in his luggage and thankfully he also had an air tag inside because after he landed he noticed his luggage was missing when he pulled up to find my application he noticed the luggage was apparently in the same location he was at but after waiting at baggage claim it never showed up and then after checking it again he noticed luggage did not move and that's because it was still on the tarmac all along so he went up to United Airlines customer support but they basically told him that they can't do anything about it and that the bag wasn't even there because it had never been checked in and when he showed the agent that his bag was actually at the airport the agent's response was the classic we can mail you the bag and once located we'll send it to you but that obviously was not an option for this guy since he had a show to do and needed that equipment ASAP so he came up with a master plan so since he noticed that his bag was near gate 90 he decided to buy another plane ticket to get back through TSA so he got a refundable ticket got through security went to gate 90 where his luggage was at and was able to look through the window right there at his bag just sitting out there with employees just passing by it as it was just sitting out there on the tarmac So eventually he did find a United Airlines employee who was helpful and got him his bag back after admitting to him that this had never happened before now thanks to that worker he did get his bag back he got refunded for the ticket that he bought and he made it to his show on time but the funniest part about this is that the next day he got an email from United informing him that they were still looking for his bag and that they'd send it to him as soon as they located it that's funny stuff there and just another reminder to always put air tags in your bag but anyways guys I hope you enjoyed this episode if you did I would appreciate if you give it a thumbs up also make sure to subscribe for more videos just like this one but anyways guys thanks again for watching and I'll see you soonwhat's up guys my name is Brandon and welcome back to Apple weekly in this episode we're going to discuss even disappeared here in the messages application I cannot tap anywhere nothing happens the keyboard is just completely gone so it is still happening you can see it in real time here maybe if I copy this something will happen or select all no nothing is helping I can't do anything even if I'm tapping there the keyboard is just completely gone and I would have to force quit to get it back so that's still happening in messages but fortunately it is not happening in the spotlight search anymore and I'm still having issues with name drop and airdrop trying to trigger pretty much anytime I have two iOS 17 devices nearby so that's still an issue even when I turn airdrop off it still happens with name drop so hopefully Apple figures that out soon but as far as performance goes I really don't have any complaints in regards to the performance overall it feels really good like I do still have the occasional respring I've had that maybe once this past week but that's up from having one to two a day on earlier beta so I can definitely see the Improvement here and a lot of my feedback is getting response and the feedback application which by the way if you're not reporting your feedback in the feedback application this is your reminder to do so but overall performance I really don't have a ton of issues I think it's actually stable enough now to run on your daily device because even when I have those resprings it's just that it's just the re-spring it's not like a reboot where I you know lose everything or I lose a phone call like I've had my phone respring a couple times while I'm on a FaceTime call but the FaceTime call stays there like I'm still on the line so I still I think it's good enough nowadays for you know a daily device but at this point if you're still on the fence you may as well wait for the next beta because it's probably coming next week so you may as well jump on then but we're getting very close it's almost there but the other drawback I will say is the battery life because battery life is still not great now I will say battery life is good I've noticed a big Improvement especially on watch OS so the first public beta for watch OS 10 has made a big difference on my Apple watch Ultra I'm actually able to get through a couple of days now where I was not able to to on any previous watchos 10 beta so I've not seen as extreme of an improvement on iOS 17 public beta AKA beta 3 but it's good like again it's getting there we're almost there but I still don't think it's as good as iOS 16. and just because I show you every week we're going to go into my main device here and check out the battery stats especially today because I've been using my phone a lot so I'm not expecting great battery life for today as you can see I'm sub 10 at 433 when I woke up you know around nine o'clock in the morning so you'll notice that my battery life is still not great now if we go to the last 10 days you can see not terrible like I said it's still not great it's not iOS 16 levels but you could see kind of how we've done there as far as you know the activity and the battery usage all right so now let's talk about what to expect next from Apple so next week is going to be the final full week of July July 24th next week we should see iOS 17 beta 4 for registered developers and the second public data for public beta testers now that's most likely going to come really any day next week you know we could have actually seen it this past week I'm surprised Apple did not push out the next beta this past week so we really could see it any day next week however I think it's probably going to be on the 25th or the 26th if I had to guess now the reason I say that is because Monday the 24th is most likely when we will see iOS 16.6 get released to the public so for those still on iOS 16 we got the RC this past week we're expecting to see the final release right there on the 24th and then like I said I would expect Apple to release the next developer beta early next week as well followed by the next public beta within 24 to 48 hours after the release of the developer Beta And as always it will be the same build as that developer beta okay so now let's talk about some miscellaneous iOS news before moving on to the main News section of this episode and the first thing I want to talk about is threads if you guys are not following me on threads you can follow me over there I still prefer Twitter as my main you know social media where I talk to you guys and you know share information and news and new videos and things like that threads is cool but you know I'm still a Twitter fan like I still love Twitter the most but anyways this past week we did see the first major threads updates for iOS and you can see we have a few new changes here so we have translations for Threads the follows tab on the activity feed now that's not the following tab for like your main section that's still just jumbled with a lot of stuff that I don't really care about that's the main reason I'm on Twitter and not on threads but anyways you have subscribed to unfollowed users and you can see all the other ones here as well so big major update for the threads app if you are active on that platform if we head into the YouTube application and go to get premium you will notice that we have a price increase on YouTube premium it's now 18.99 a month 19 a month if you subscribe from your iOS device and that is exactly why you should not be subscribing from your Apple device it is cheaper if you just go on your desktop And subscribe through YouTube and not through you know the IOS app store but even if you do subscribe it's straight on YouTube but that price has increased by two dollars a month it's now 14 a month even if you subscribe from the desktop and the family premium plans did not change they're still the same price so that is nice for you guys although you did get a price hike earlier this year and then also YouTube music premium is now 11 a month instead of ten dollars a month so a few price hikes there for YouTube subscriptions and then in related news Netflix added almost 6 million new Global subscribers in the second quarter of 2023 and that came from the earnings report of course this is following the big you know news that they were going to cut down on password sharing and having you know multiple users using the same account so that led to a big big increase in the amount of subscribers all right so now let's move on to the latest Apple news so you guys remember about a month ago when I talked about how Tim Cook and apple are very against AI right now in a sense they were saying that they have privacy concerns accuracy concerns a lot of stuff like that well it seems like they are slowly but surely becoming more Pro generative AI it seems like they're worrying less about the privacy and less about the accuracy maybe just because it's getting better but we now know that to be a fact because there's a new report from Bloomberg that outlines that apple is planning to create something similar to chat GPT and Google bard so according to Bloomberg Apple has built its own framework known as Ajax to create llms and by the way Ajax runs on Google cloud and was built with Google Jacks which is their machine learning framework so apple is testing an AI powered chat Bots that the engineers are calling Apple GPT now the big but here is that Apple has no plans to release this to the public yet so we don't know that this is even going to see the lot of day it's just in development on the back end now this report does say that apple is planning a big announcement related to AI next year in 2024 so that could be huge that could give us some insight as to what to actually expect from this apple GPT and of course the big question that I have and that I talked about in the appleden is that how is this going to be implemented like is it going to be just another version of Siri is Apple going to charge five dollars a month to use this alternate version of Siri how's that going to work I think that's the biggest question we have right now so if you were planning on getting an iPhone 15 Pro or Pro Max on launch Day this year you might have an issue with that because reportedly there are going to be extreme shortages with the Pro Models this year especially the pro Max so this comes from a report from the information who claims the apple is using a new manufacturing process for the pro displays and there were issues with the LG made displays now the information is saying that apple is not likely to delay the iPhone 15 launch but instead the pro model goals are going to have severe shortages now this is kind of the opposite of what we heard from a Bank of America analyst who actually got this right in a couple years ago with the iPhone 12 but he claims that the iPhone 15 is going to face a delay this year but only to the tune of a few weeks so he's saying that we could actually not get any iPhone 15s until October so I think we're going to kind of land somewhere in the middle this is just my opinion there's no you know I don't have any inside information but we could see another staggered release this year like we've seen in the past where we just get the iPhone 15s first and then we get a staggered release where we get the Pro Models a couple of weeks or a few weeks later that's personally the way I prefer to have it especially as a Creator so I can make you know those videos without being overwhelmed at first but we could actually see those iPhone 15s released first or you know if Apple decides to just release everything on day one again we're probably just going to have major shortages for the pro and pro Max and you may not actually get those until October at the earliest if you're not one of the first people to pre-order so so we'll have to see what happens here but we have seen multiple reports now about you know if not a delay at least a major shortage of certain devices so that's something to be aware of also tsmc Apple's longtime supplier has been building a chip manufacturing plant in Arizona for a while now but they're facing major hurdles that are causing delays in the mass production for the forthcoming four nanometer chips and this problem is a big one they're not getting enough skilled workers to get the actual job done to get this you know manufacturing plant up and running so according to the Wall Street Journal tsmc is finding it difficult to hire people with expertise in building semiconductor factories in the U.S and they may have to temporarily bring in experienced technicians from Taiwan which would delay production of the first four nanometer chips until 2025. so it just seems like we're having delays on delays for various reasons now with the iPhones and also with those next generation four nanometer chips so do you guys remember a few weeks ago go when I told you about that rare iPhone 2g auction that was going to be going live soon and how it could break the record of the 63 000 iPhone sale in the past and how it could reach up to a hundred thousand dollars yeah well that auction actually ended this past week and it sold for much more than 100k this unopened original iPhone sold for a record-breaking 190 000 and keep in mind this phone was sold for five hundred dollars in 2007. that is a 38 000 Roi that's amazing and if you're wondering why in the world it sold for so much here's a little excerpt from the auction the original four gigabyte motto is considered a Holy Grail amongst iPhone collectors it's extreme scarcity is directly related to its limited production debuting on June 29 2007 alongside the eight gigabyte model the four gigabyte model was hampered by slow sales buyers chose to pay the 100 up charge in exchange for double the storage space the lagging sales resulted in apple making the decision to discontinue the four gigabyte model on September 5th 2007 just over two months after it was released and then finally another crazy well really more of a funny air tag story so a magician was on his way to Newark New Jersey to take part in a local trade show he had around fifteen hundred dollars worth of equipment in his luggage and thankfully he also had an air tag inside because after he landed he noticed his luggage was missing when he pulled up to find my application he noticed the luggage was apparently in the same location he was at but after waiting at baggage claim it never showed up and then after checking it again he noticed luggage did not move and that's because it was still on the tarmac all along so he went up to United Airlines customer support but they basically told him that they can't do anything about it and that the bag wasn't even there because it had never been checked in and when he showed the agent that his bag was actually at the airport the agent's response was the classic we can mail you the bag and once located we'll send it to you but that obviously was not an option for this guy since he had a show to do and needed that equipment ASAP so he came up with a master plan so since he noticed that his bag was near gate 90 he decided to buy another plane ticket to get back through TSA so he got a refundable ticket got through security went to gate 90 where his luggage was at and was able to look through the window right there at his bag just sitting out there with employees just passing by it as it was just sitting out there on the tarmac So eventually he did find a United Airlines employee who was helpful and got him his bag back after admitting to him that this had never happened before now thanks to that worker he did get his bag back he got refunded for the ticket that he bought and he made it to his show on time but the funniest part about this is that the next day he got an email from United informing him that they were still looking for his bag and that they'd send it to him as soon as they located it that's funny stuff there and just another reminder to always put air tags in your bag but anyways guys I hope you enjoyed this episode if you did I would appreciate if you give it a thumbs up also make sure to subscribe for more videos just like this one but anyways guys thanks again for watching and I'll see you soon\n"
