Welcome to Petrolhead and welcome to this week's Midweek 180. I'm excited to share with you my thoughts on the new BMW M340i XDrive touring car, which I've had the pleasure of spending the week with thanks to BMW UK. This car is as close to an Audi S4 as BMW makes it, and I must say, I'm very impressed with it so far.
The seats in this car are going to be a source of controversy for sure. As you know, these cars have been known to cause some discomfort for passengers in the backseat, but I've found that the M340i XDrive is no exception. However, I do think that the rear seats could use a bit more adjustment to make them more comfortable.
Now, let's talk about the car itself. The M340i XDrive is powered by a 4-liter V8 twin-turbo AMG-derived engine that produces 510 horsepower and 685 Newton-meters of torque. It's capable of going from 0-60 miles per hour in just 3.7 seconds, which is impressive. I've had the pleasure of driving some of the most powerful cars on the market, but this one is definitely up there.
One thing that I really like about this car is the front end design. The splitter has been redesigned to look more aggressive and less like a bottom-feeder. I think it looks amazing, and I'm excited to see how it performs on the road. Overall, I'm very impressed with the M340i XDrive, and I think it's a great alternative to the Audi S4.
Now, let's talk about last week's Midweek 180. Last week's leader of the pack was F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, who joined in the famous #5 bike ride. Congratulations to Lewis on his win! The other drivers who completed the ride were Brian Lloyd, Robert Langham, and David Kathir.
Last week's question was all about HS2 and what you would spend a hundred billion pounds on if we didn't build it. I have to say, I'm not too keen on the idea of building a new high-speed rail line. I think there are better ways to use that money. However, I do think that HS2 could be an important project for our country's future.
Speaking of cars that you might not understand, I recently drove past a Chrysler PT Cruiser and couldn't help but wonder why it was built in the first place. I've always thought that it looked like a weird combination of different car designs, but I guess that's what makes it so... unique?
On a more positive note, I'm excited to announce that Aston Martin has released the new Vantage Roadster. This is one of my favorite cars ever driven, and I love the way it looks and handles on the road. The Vantage is powered by a 4-liter V8 twin-turbo engine that produces 510 horsepower and 685 Newton-meters of torque.
I've had the pleasure of driving some amazing cars over the years, but this one is definitely up there. I love the way it looks, with its sleek design and aggressive front end. The interior is also very luxurious, with plenty of premium materials and features. Overall, I think the Vantage Roadster is an incredible car that's sure to turn heads on the road.
I'd also like to give a shoutout to my viewers who completed last week's question about HS2. David Kathir was the first one to respond, and he came from all the way in Orsk, Kazakhstan! Congratulations to him for being the first person to complete the question.
On a related note, I recently drove a Ford RS2000 racing car that was powered by a Cosworth naturally aspirated engine. This was an amazing experience, and I'm excited to share it with you in my next video. The RS2000 is a classic British sports car that's known for its agility and handling on the track. It's also very rare, which makes it all the more special.
The Cosworth engine is a legendary unit that's been used in some of the most iconic racing cars of all time. It's a 2.1-liter engine with twin 48 Weber carburetors, which produces an incredible amount of power and torque. I'm excited to share my experience driving this car with you in my next video.

Before I go, I just want to remind everyone to drive safely and responsibly on the road. Cars are amazing machines that can bring us joy and excitement, but they also require respect and caution. Always wear your seatbelt, follow traffic laws, and never drink and drive. Thanks for reading, and we'll see you in our next video!
