The Restoration Process: A Journey of Discovery and Upgrades

As we delve into the world of classic car restoration, it's essential to acknowledge that every project is unique and comes with its own set of challenges. The story begins with a mysterious Audi TT that turned out to be more than just a pretty face. The original owner had spent $1,000 on the car, but despite its impressive exterior, the engine was struggling to stay alive. After removing the engine, a pressure line in the center of the car was discovered to be cracked in half, which raised questions about the extent of the damage.

The repair process began with the restoration of the cooling system, where a manual fan switch had to be manually flipped on to activate the AC fans. Fortunately, Daniel found some melted connectors that could be repaired and fixed, ensuring that they wouldn't melt again. Additionally, a temperature sensor for the main fans and air conditioning unit needed to be replaced due to faulty sensors.

The next stop was the Challenger, which had suffered significant damage from being removed from its engine. The block was sent to the machine shop for repairs, where parts are currently being ordered to ensure the car is back in working condition. This restoration project has taken on a life of its own, with upgrades and custom parts being added to create a truly unique driving experience.

The arrival of a surprise gift brought a much-needed boost to the restoration process. A new engine was secured, but it's essential to note that no car can be perfect, especially after years of neglect. Despite the challenges, the Escalade has been restored to its former glory, and it will never be the same again.

As we explore the world of classic cars, it's crucial to remember that every vehicle has its own unique character and story. The restoration process is not just about fixing mechanical issues but also about breathing new life into a car that may have lost its way. In this case, the Audi TT and Escalade have been restored to their former glory, and they're now ready for their next adventure.

The cost of restoration has been significant, with labor costs doubling in some areas. However, the end result is well worth it – both cars are now running smoothly, and their owners can enjoy them without worrying about mechanical issues. The key to successful restoration lies in patience, persistence, and a willingness to get your hands dirty.

As we move forward, it's essential to remember that every car has its own unique value proposition. Despite being an Audi TT, which may not be the most valuable car, it has been restored to its former glory and now boasts a more substantial engine. The Escalade, on the other hand, has undergone significant upgrades to become a truly desirable driving experience.

In conclusion, the world of classic car restoration is full of surprises, challenges, and opportunities for growth. Whether you're working on your own project or watching others bring their cars back to life, every journey is unique and worth exploring. As we continue on this path, remember that the true value of a classic car lies not in its monetary worth but in the memories and experiences it provides.

"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enwelcome to hoo's garage the dumbest automo channel in all of YouTube and this is or I guess was my 2024 Tesla cyber truck I traded it in 3 months ago for this a slightly used Cadillac lyric because I believe the bottom was going to fall out on the prices of the Cyber truck $102,000 MSRP and I thought well there's no way that's going to last by the end of the year I predicted 30 to $40,000 of depreciation at the time it was worth over its MSRP they gave me $111,000 on trade almost 10 grand over MSRP towards the lyric which I paid $44,000 for that was about $220,000 off of its original MSRP so it seemed like a slam dunk but here we are 3 months later and the Cyber truck is still sitting here not sold and they have it advertised for less than what they bought it for me for Less $109,900 and I'm wondering did I make a mistake trading this thing in to recap I signed up to buy this truck almost 4 years ago put down the deposit on the Press launch date and patiently waited I finally got it but it wasn't what we were promised the range was limited to about 300 mil versus the 4500 that was promised still don't have full self-driving no autopilot on this truck and the price was unbelievable $102,000 the MSRP and that was the big deal killer for me this would be a lot of fun at the 50 $60,000 price point but at 102 Grand I could think of a lot of other things that I wanted to own nor did I want to ride that massive depreciation wave so I thought well let me get out while the getting is good and I guess I did make the right decision because at the time they were selling for over MSRP 111,000 was sort of the wholesale auction price at the time and I talked to the used car manager about it was in the car business a long time myself and we agreed if it was 119 or 115 it would sell pretty quickly but within an hour of driving off in my lyric they priced this at $140,000 and it sat and continued to sit dealers were certainly asking that much money but uh they weren't getting it so uh it sat and they kept lowering the price lowering the price lowering the price I didn't realize this until I drove by the highway the other day and sorry about the highway noise and saw that it was still here and then I saw the advertise price of $109,900 which means they're willing to sell it for a small loss a $1,000 loss at this point to move it along but now that price is still too high you can buy one for 105 retail some advertised for under $100,000 and wholesale is around 90 to $95,000 so 3 months later we 3 or 4 months from the end of the year I predicted a $ 30 to $40,000 depreciation uh that seems to be the trend so I guess it feels good to be right but at the same time electric cars in general just appreciate really badly so the lyric has appreciated in that time at least $5,000 according to wholesale values they dropped a lot during that period more than I expected so it's sort of a lose lose either way oh they came out to put it away so byebye cybertruck they put it away every night but out here up front to try and sell it I do miss some things about it but uh all the attention it got like every day I had to have a long conversation with somebody I suppose that would wear off eventually to where I didn't have to deal with that but it was a pretty aggravating experience but the four-wheel steering you can see really neat the steer by wire system it was a really cool truck I love the way it looks too that's very polarizing but personally I love the looks I love the way it rode and drove but I do like the Cadillac better for a lot of reasons and I'll talk about why in a little bit when we drive to our next destination but I thought this video would be interesting to give a little snapshot of the current state of dealers in 20124 and uh how weird things are of the big three American automakers I do feel like Chevy is probably the strongest best position product-wise of the bunch as far as their production and their pricing but there's still uh some things that are just crazy how much they cost nowadays and then they just sip forever because there's no buyers today at these really high prices and interest rates makes financing a really unattractive Prospect we're going to hit all three major American car dealers today just to show you examples of this and I was looking online earlier and I think this is their most affordable Suburban on the lot right now Suburban rst four-wheel drive you can see the sticker price is 77,6 185 and this isn't a fully trimmed example this is a nice sporty rst I do believe they have it discounted to around $70,000 and that is uh the cheap American Family Suburban now wow but before we get into things thanks to Underdog fantasy for sponsoring today's video the NFL season is finally here and my partner Underdog fantasy wants to make it a lot more more exciting join the millions of fans that played on Underdog last year and with their pick them game you could win money by making Sports Picks it's time to turn those takes Into Cash by going higher or lower on player stats like touchdowns receiving yards interceptions and much more make entries of all NFL picks or mix a match across your other favorite sports you can win up to 325 times your money Underdog is available in 30 plus States including California Florida Texas and even Canada here's my picks for NFL week one by the way on Underdog fantasy since my home team is the Kansas City Chiefs I'm definitely rooting on them to win so that's why I picked momes going higher on his passing yards on the game on Thursday which this video may come afterwards so we'll see how smart my picks are uh but Travis Kelce I'm thinking lower because he partied too hard with Taylor Swift over the summer so the other receivers are going to make up for it they're going against Baltimore and I'm planning on it being a blowout so that's why I picked lower on all the stats for the Baltimore players we'll see Underdog has a Jaylen Herz free pick for all customers live also if you deposit on Friday you'll receive an automatic 10% deposit match for fill up Friday sign up and deposit now and use the promo code hoies to get up to $1,000 in bonus cash and claim your free pick that'll give you a gimme for your first entry with the code hoovies now the silver AOS actually think are still a pretty good value you can get a decent trim example a lower Trim in the 40s with discounts but they have advertised online and that's not bad in this day and age and not too different from when I was in Chevys in 2007 where the same truck was in the 30s so accounting for inflation which has been crazy lately is not that bad but it is way way worse when you go to a Ford lot and even worse when you go to a Dodge lot the salanus pro the Chrysler Dodge Jeep is just insane but we'll go to Ford first and I'll show you a little taste of what I'm talking about all right leaving Chevy and heading over to Ford next and it is getting dark I didn't realize that it gets dark so early now I guess we are in Falls so if you can't see me Sor me but you can see the beautiful ambient Lighting in the lyric and we can set the autopilot cruise control to where this one does indeed drive itself there we go super cruise is on it's changing its Lane on its own not available in the Cyber truck yet this um obviously it's just my opinion on the Cyber truck and the pricing and all that stuff but you can see other ones for sale for uh five grand 10 grand cheaper within a 300M radius so uh that's what I am going off of and I did forget to mention that the top-of-the line Suburban are around $100,000 advertise for sale stickers over 100 they're discounting them quite a bit so flash red that is the one problem with super Cruise if it's on a road that's not mapped then it makes you take over but uh Chevy I think they're doing okay Ford things are getting a little weird so I can see unlike Chevy there are rows and rows and rows and rows of new trucks and SUVs for sale tons of inventory excess inventory a few years ago in the hi of Co all these Lots were empty but now they're starting to pile up part of the reason is because of the crazy pricing on new Ford full-size Vehicles this right here is the cheapest nonwork truck F-150 for sale right now still a pretty base model an XL F-150 with steel wheels Ecoboost V6 four-wheel drive now they're not advertising their discounts online just the MSRP which is on this truck $51,900 and they have paint protection and Window Tint bringing up to $1,788 for the XL the lowest trim above a work truck you get four-wheel drive you get V6 but otherwise a very basic barebones vehicle is $50,000 then you go to the Raptor which is right next to it this one isn't an R with the uh GT500 supercharged engine in it and its MSRP is $94,000 with paint protection film 94573 for a Ford Raptor I have a 10-year-old one at home with 300,000 miles that I bought for $111,000 I put a lot more into it but uh holy smokes there is the range in Ford F-150s right there and of course there's more expensive ones than that the Raptor RS and the F250s the F350s the fully loaded ones that can be well over $100,000 a lot of them I'm sure in this row which is sort of the tax ride off over 6,000 lb special which they do sell those pretty regularly but you can see there are rows and rows and rows and rows of very expensive trucks that uh nobody can buy this is an XL basically a work truck it looks like a vinyl interior $50,000 two wheel drive long bed this one a larat off-road package and uh it's MSRP 69,8 $25 you get leather almost $70,000 for a mid uper trim pickup truck in 2024 it's nuts XL t7 passenger Expedition $71,000 a whole row upon row of them it's unbelievable obviously Ford needs to dropped some heavy incentives to get all this inventory moved uh but they're being stubborn they haven't done it yet so all these cars are doing is sitting a Bronco sport total MSRP $35,000 uh this one the Heritage models so there are some affordable options you can see this is when the gaps start to form and the things start to get more affordable the Broncos sport is an excellent product and so is the Ford Maverick in my opinion they do have a few Ford Mavericks here but they're all the upper trim ones that are in the 30s high 30s low 40s none of the hybrids they have a 40 m per gon under 30 grand pickup truck but they can't keep them on their Lots they won't retool production away from the expensive F-150s I'm not sure if they can uh to the cheaper m Mavericks and it's been the same story with the Maverick hybrids for the last four years they all go to Fleet Sales people who ordered them uh what few do show up on the lot are gone immediately and I don't see a single Maverick hybrid for under $30,000 on this lot they do have three Bronco Raptors on the lot though which these were impossible to get at one point and selling for way over their MSRP now they have three here in witw Kansas MSRP on this one $94,000 it certainly looks cool but how many people are buying a Baja SUV Bronco everybody that wanted one already bought one in the last 2 years so now they sit back in the lyric and I suppose this is a competitor to the Mustang machy that we saw at the Ford store and I do think in my opinion Cadillac did a better job calling that a Mustang making it look like a Mustang not a very good idea Cadillac going back to its roots sort of its Heritage Classic you know looks and its classical appeal as far as the old school ride comfort Ultra Luxury they hit it out of the park with this and they didn't dare call it an El Dorado or a Seville or something like that to uh piss off the old purist as it changes Lanes on its own still though if you thought things were bad at Ford it gets way way worse at Chrysler Dodge Jeep way bad here is another dealer that is packed to the absolute gills with inventory and it almost felt like sabotage from stellantis chryso Dodge Jeep uh parent company in Europe like they were wanting the American lots to fail with these crazy prices and selection building vehicles that nobody wants and uh but it finally seems like they're starting to incentivize a little bit I'm starting here in the back this is the most expensive new 2024 vehicle an MSRP of $90,000 for a 2500 diesel limited this is kind of a cool transitional year because we have the ram Classics and then we have the new 202s but the sad part is the Hemi is going away gone after this year the V8s are getting replaced with a hurricane twin turbo line six that seems a little bit spotty when it comes to Quality but I guess that's the same case with the Hemi as I'm dealing with with the Hellcat so this one uh with incentives and discounts is about $7,000 off still into the80s for a 3/4 ton well equipped truck now the cheapest one here is not too far away but this one is a classic it is a Tradesman with the unpainted front bumper basically a work truck two wheel drive bear bones priced $ a four-wheel drive EcoBoost so a big difference between two whe drive and four-wheel drive this one though discounted I think another 7 or 8,000 so still low mid-40s for a basic outgoing pickup truck you go down the line and there are tons of them this one a new 2025 with that e torque I think that hurricane engine $50,000 for a basic No Frills truck they're parking crooked to take up a little more room so they're not completely full in this lot but they have a whole another full basic dealership over on the other side and another lot so this is a massive massive lot full of trucks but you can see the selection here of Jeep Gladiators is absolutely insane and that has a lot to do with the absolutely insane prices you go to this one right here the first Rubicon and it has a sticker of 69,000 $25 for the top-of-the-line Gladiator Rubicon the cheap one I think right here a sport not that different though $52,000 these things aren't fancy and I know because I had a gladiator brand new but then you go over to a Jeep Grand Cherokee this used to be a middle class darling now total price $55,000 for a Grand Cherokee Limited before the rebates discounts incentives now we looked at the Ford lot earlier and we saw the bronos sports their price around $35,000 before discounts rebates well here's its competitor The Hornet which is some rebadged Italian thing that nobody wants especially at this price you can see this one a GT all-wheel drive so decent trim $ 37,9 I know they discount them three or four grand still that is a lot of money for their basic crossover SUV and then we have a wagon ear this one isn't even a grand wagon ear you can see the MSRP $7 78,79 for a lower trim wag Ager now compare that to the Suburban we saw which was $770,000 advertised with rebates and incentives and that one was an rst so sort of the sporty look then there's the Expedition the larat about $770,000 before rebates and stives all that uh which one would you buy obviously the spotty record with the Wagoner having that twin turbo straight six all the issues they've been having uh it's pretty obvious everybody is buying an expedition or a Suburban if they want a big three row SUV they're are not buying that and then they have some of the basic Jeep compasses which you would think uh they're still 20 $225,000 Vehicles no they're not uh MSRP on this one a Latitude Lux $334,000 for a crossover Econo box this one 34284 and this one $ 32559 so we found the cheaper one maybe this one's under 30 with rebate still a lot of money 15 or 20% down that is still a $500 a month car payment and people aren't doing that so obviously they are going to sit but like like I said the lot keeps going and going and going it used to be the Fiat store next door a lot more trucks on the other side what's left of the old Challengers and Chargers the hems over there before they replaced with the uh electric and the inline 6 ones which once again nobody wants and uh well more wagoners over here Weezer what's going on well last night I was looking at new cars and uh the prices they just blew me away it's depressing isn't it it's unbelievable and it makes me feel like an old dinosaur cuz I was selling these things new back in 20072 2008 and the prices were so much better uh you know they talk about inflation not being as bad as we think but when you look at cars and grocery it's nuts it is I actually have customers that put more money than they should into cars because they're like I just can't buy a $70,000 car right now I can't right well I just keep driving this old Escalade because it's my comfort food it's what I love but it's 20 years old and it's starting to literally fall apart it's kind of sad actually showing uh yeah so this oh from the door it just fell off one day oh my goodness yeah kind of a bummer and then this came off the top here just started flapping like crazy like I had a snake hanging on I probably need that for something well we can get it back on there for you it's also due for an oil change and then early on when I bought it almost three years ago you fixed the little steering rattle where it feels a little weird yeah there's a little ujoint down by the floorboard there just needs to be dislodged and lubricated the shaft I always like lubing shafts I know you do you're very very good at it so I would like you to do it again okay I think you have something for me to take home not the tester Roa right the tester Roa is basically like a bomb blue up inside of the Interior oh really yeah I see the dashes out of oh yeah whoa seats are gone everything's gone yeah okay okay well that was one of the big uh cosmetic issues with the car was the uh dashboard which I guess this part doesn't look too bad there was one section where somebody had like their engraved name here whatever but there was the really ugly part by the vents it must be somewhere oh right here yeah this that was really letting this car down yeah you can see Daniel had to go through a lot to get it all apart five levels of Parts there yeah and he found a classic Roxy do look like yes what the hell those are like the old backup camera system oh and it's held together by Putty yeah they just puttied everything together and stuffed it under the dash Once Upon a Time this was a $450,000 Ferrari kind of a cheap Poor Man's Ferrari and I guess uh ghetto things would happen like that but thankfully that engine out was just done you did notice that it was leaking a little bit right yeah the cam seals up front are leak leaking and some other gaskets and things it probably would have to have the engine come out again to fix them I don't they're not leaking so bad I don't you'll have to decide what you want to do there I don't know well maybe I'll call the uh place that just did the work and maybe they can fix it so I don't have to do that again yeah if there's that possibility there we don't want to tear into it and mess with it and ruin any kind of warranty you might have so I guess see what they say and we'll go from there yeah what about the air conditioning we got it fixed that's another thing when they remove this engine out there is a pressure line that goes to the center of the car it was just cracked in half so I don't know if it got flexed or bent during the engine removal but we're able to repair it and it came back alive yeah great pretty old I suppose so yeah and then I had to manually flip on a fan switch to get the uh cooling fans to work so was that hard to find um Daniel found some connectors that were melted he fixed them and fixed the connection so they won't melt again there's also a temperature sensor for the main fans and also the AC f man up there that just the sensors are dead that's all it is well okay and I know the Challenger on the other side oh my God uh the block is off to the machine shop right yep they have the block and they're getting parts ordered and everything so it's probably going to be there for a little while lovely well this is turning into a complete restoration of a Hellcat uh but I did get something fun coming for it oh you did it's on the way it's a surprise huh yes but uh it looks like the one car that is done up here is the Audi TT and just from this distance it looks so so much better from when I bought it the $1,000 Audi uh the suspension was aftermarket on the thing the wheels even more ugly aftermarket so to have it on his Factor wheels and suspension it just looks so so much better but uh yeah the leaks were pretty unbelievable on this thing so is that all fixed yep we got all that fixed a lot of parts under the hood at least improved you know that they really put a lot of custom parts and weird stuff on yeah but we put the correct coil in remember it had some hodge podge coil on it we found an air filter so it's not sucking in raw air that's good the oil pan was the crazy one where they used a rock and JB Weld or whatever it's got a brand new oil pan all those leaks are fixed so it's a happy camper it's a good driver now and will'll never be perfect ever again but this is a good usable car for somebody somebody it's definitely not $1,000 anymore right no no it's not and Al we made sure the the rear Hall deex is actually working we we just made got on some dirt roads and did some little burnouts and it actually engages at work okay so the quattra all Drive is good yeah all right well I guess I'll leave you the Escalade and take uh take this one home right the keys are bill bill bill I will never forget the bill you can't play that game on me yeah just because it was a $1,000 Audi that doesn't mean the parts have gone down in value with the car right so it's Volkswagen it's a Jetta basically right well the price may not reflect that here's the damage uh $2500 yes okay yeah fixing the AC all the oil pans the CV shafts uh one ignition coil putting on the bumper finding me an air filter that pars car didn't really get me very far without an engine in it it didn't one thing you got to think of is there was Labor to take it off par car labor to put it on the good car it kind of doubled the labor in a way right yeah and all the uh all the suspension and stuff but it's alive again and it works it's not leaking all over the place you want an AI I don't not that one specifically not that one this might be the one where I let you mechanically in it and is probably worth less than the bill okay I won't run out the door but I need to remember like in this day and age any car that works is like a $5,000 car right now it is it's it's crazy so I didn't lose I don't think we'll see I'm good at losing wo still makes those fun turbo noises even with a an air filter on it now uh using it to work it has all the Ferrari interior pieces that need redone uh to take over to the upholstery shop but it rides so so much better with the stock suspension and a little more tire completely transformed it the lights well the be on forever this thing will never be pretty but I am going to take it out of the van go at least get the bumper painted try and buff off that weird yellow that's on the hood and make it a little bit better so yeah I am $3,500 into it now but it'll probably be another thousand so yeah this is the dumbest Auto channel in all of YouTube thank you so much for watchingwelcome to hoo's garage the dumbest automo channel in all of YouTube and this is or I guess was my what I'm talking about all right leaving Chevy and heading over to Ford next and it is getting dark I didn't realize that it gets dark so early now I guess we are in Falls so if you can't see me Sor me but you can see the beautiful ambient Lighting in the lyric and we can set the autopilot cruise control to where this one does indeed drive itself there we go super cruise is on it's changing its Lane on its own not available in the Cyber truck yet this um obviously it's just my opinion on the Cyber truck and the pricing and all that stuff but you can see other ones for sale for uh five grand 10 grand cheaper within a 300M radius so uh that's what I am going off of and I did forget to mention that the top-of-the line Suburban are around $100,000 advertise for sale stickers over 100 they're discounting them quite a bit so flash red that is the one problem with super Cruise if it's on a road that's not mapped then it makes you take over but uh Chevy I think they're doing okay Ford things are getting a little weird so I can see unlike Chevy there are rows and rows and rows and rows of new trucks and SUVs for sale tons of inventory excess inventory a few years ago in the hi of Co all these Lots were empty but now they're starting to pile up part of the reason is because of the crazy pricing on new Ford full-size Vehicles this right here is the cheapest nonwork truck F-150 for sale right now still a pretty base model an XL F-150 with steel wheels Ecoboost V6 four-wheel drive now they're not advertising their discounts online just the MSRP which is on this truck $51,900 and they have paint protection and Window Tint bringing up to $1,788 for the XL the lowest trim above a work truck you get four-wheel drive you get V6 but otherwise a very basic barebones vehicle is $50,000 then you go to the Raptor which is right next to it this one isn't an R with the uh GT500 supercharged engine in it and its MSRP is $94,000 with paint protection film 94573 for a Ford Raptor I have a 10-year-old one at home with 300,000 miles that I bought for $111,000 I put a lot more into it but uh holy smokes there is the range in Ford F-150s right there and of course there's more expensive ones than that the Raptor RS and the F250s the F350s the fully loaded ones that can be well over $100,000 a lot of them I'm sure in this row which is sort of the tax ride off over 6,000 lb special which they do sell those pretty regularly but you can see there are rows and rows and rows and rows of very expensive trucks that uh nobody can buy this is an XL basically a work truck it looks like a vinyl interior $50,000 two wheel drive long bed this one a larat off-road package and uh it's MSRP 69,8 $25 you get leather almost $70,000 for a mid uper trim pickup truck in 2024 it's nuts XL t7 passenger Expedition $71,000 a whole row upon row of them it's unbelievable obviously Ford needs to dropped some heavy incentives to get all this inventory moved uh but they're being stubborn they haven't done it yet so all these cars are doing is sitting a Bronco sport total MSRP $35,000 uh this one the Heritage models so there are some affordable options you can see this is when the gaps start to form and the things start to get more affordable the Broncos sport is an excellent product and so is the Ford Maverick in my opinion they do have a few Ford Mavericks here but they're all the upper trim ones that are in the 30s high 30s low 40s none of the hybrids they have a 40 m per gon under 30 grand pickup truck but they can't keep them on their Lots they won't retool production away from the expensive F-150s I'm not sure if they can uh to the cheaper m Mavericks and it's been the same story with the Maverick hybrids for the last four years they all go to Fleet Sales people who ordered them uh what few do show up on the lot are gone immediately and I don't see a single Maverick hybrid for under $30,000 on this lot they do have three Bronco Raptors on the lot though which these were impossible to get at one point and selling for way over their MSRP now they have three here in witw Kansas MSRP on this one $94,000 it certainly looks cool but how many people are buying a Baja SUV Bronco everybody that wanted one already bought one in the last 2 years so now they sit back in the lyric and I suppose this is a competitor to the Mustang machy that we saw at the Ford store and I do think in my opinion Cadillac did a better job calling that a Mustang making it look like a Mustang not a very good idea Cadillac going back to its roots sort of its Heritage Classic you know looks and its classical appeal as far as the old school ride comfort Ultra Luxury they hit it out of the park with this and they didn't dare call it an El Dorado or a Seville or something like that to uh piss off the old purist as it changes Lanes on its own still though if you thought things were bad at Ford it gets way way worse at Chrysler Dodge Jeep way bad here is another dealer that is packed to the absolute gills with inventory and it almost felt like sabotage from stellantis chryso Dodge Jeep uh parent company in Europe like they were wanting the American lots to fail with these crazy prices and selection building vehicles that nobody wants and uh but it finally seems like they're starting to incentivize a little bit I'm starting here in the back this is the most expensive new 2024 vehicle an MSRP of $90,000 for a 2500 diesel limited this is kind of a cool transitional year because we have the ram Classics and then we have the new 202s but the sad part is the Hemi is going away gone after this year the V8s are getting replaced with a hurricane twin turbo line six that seems a little bit spotty when it comes to Quality but I guess that's the same case with the Hemi as I'm dealing with with the Hellcat so this one uh with incentives and discounts is about $7,000 off still into the80s for a 3/4 ton well equipped truck now the cheapest one here is not too far away but this one is a classic it is a Tradesman with the unpainted front bumper basically a work truck two wheel drive bear bones priced $ a four-wheel drive EcoBoost so a big difference between two whe drive and four-wheel drive this one though discounted I think another 7 or 8,000 so still low mid-40s for a basic outgoing pickup truck you go down the line and there are tons of them this one a new 2025 with that e torque I think that hurricane engine $50,000 for a basic No Frills truck they're parking crooked to take up a little more room so they're not completely full in this lot but they have a whole another full basic dealership over on the other side and another lot so this is a massive massive lot full of trucks but you can see the selection here of Jeep Gladiators is absolutely insane and that has a lot to do with the absolutely insane prices you go to this one right here the first Rubicon and it has a sticker of 69,000 $25 for the top-of-the-line Gladiator Rubicon the cheap one I think right here a sport not that different though $52,000 these things aren't fancy and I know because I had a gladiator brand new but then you go over to a Jeep Grand Cherokee this used to be a middle class darling now total price $55,000 for a Grand Cherokee Limited before the rebates discounts incentives now we looked at the Ford lot earlier and we saw the bronos sports their price around $35,000 before discounts rebates well here's its competitor The Hornet which is some rebadged Italian thing that nobody wants especially at this price you can see this one a GT all-wheel drive so decent trim $ 37,9 I know they discount them three or four grand still that is a lot of money for their basic crossover SUV and then we have a wagon ear this one isn't even a grand wagon ear you can see the MSRP $7 78,79 for a lower trim wag Ager now compare that to the Suburban we saw which was $770,000 advertised with rebates and incentives and that one was an rst so sort of the sporty look then there's the Expedition the larat about $770,000 before rebates and stives all that uh which one would you buy obviously the spotty record with the Wagoner having that twin turbo straight six all the issues they've been having uh it's pretty obvious everybody is buying an expedition or a Suburban if they want a big three row SUV they're are not buying that and then they have some of the basic Jeep compasses which you would think uh they're still 20 $225,000 Vehicles no they're not uh MSRP on this one a Latitude Lux $334,000 for a crossover Econo box this one 34284 and this one $ 32559 so we found the cheaper one maybe this one's under 30 with rebate still a lot of money 15 or 20% down that is still a $500 a month car payment and people aren't doing that so obviously they are going to sit but like like I said the lot keeps going and going and going it used to be the Fiat store next door a lot more trucks on the other side what's left of the old Challengers and Chargers the hems over there before they replaced with the uh electric and the inline 6 ones which once again nobody wants and uh well more wagoners over here Weezer what's going on well last night I was looking at new cars and uh the prices they just blew me away it's depressing isn't it it's unbelievable and it makes me feel like an old dinosaur cuz I was selling these things new back in 20072 2008 and the prices were so much better uh you know they talk about inflation not being as bad as we think but when you look at cars and grocery it's nuts it is I actually have customers that put more money than they should into cars because they're like I just can't buy a $70,000 car right now I can't right well I just keep driving this old Escalade because it's my comfort food it's what I love but it's 20 years old and it's starting to literally fall apart it's kind of sad actually showing uh yeah so this oh from the door it just fell off one day oh my goodness yeah kind of a bummer and then this came off the top here just started flapping like crazy like I had a snake hanging on I probably need that for something well we can get it back on there for you it's also due for an oil change and then early on when I bought it almost three years ago you fixed the little steering rattle where it feels a little weird yeah there's a little ujoint down by the floorboard there just needs to be dislodged and lubricated the shaft I always like lubing shafts I know you do you're very very good at it so I would like you to do it again okay I think you have something for me to take home not the tester Roa right the tester Roa is basically like a bomb blue up inside of the Interior oh really yeah I see the dashes out of oh yeah whoa seats are gone everything's gone yeah okay okay well that was one of the big uh cosmetic issues with the car was the uh dashboard which I guess this part doesn't look too bad there was one section where somebody had like their engraved name here whatever but there was the really ugly part by the vents it must be somewhere oh right here yeah this that was really letting this car down yeah you can see Daniel had to go through a lot to get it all apart five levels of Parts there yeah and he found a classic Roxy do look like yes what the hell those are like the old backup camera system oh and it's held together by Putty yeah they just puttied everything together and stuffed it under the dash Once Upon a Time this was a $450,000 Ferrari kind of a cheap Poor Man's Ferrari and I guess uh ghetto things would happen like that but thankfully that engine out was just done you did notice that it was leaking a little bit right yeah the cam seals up front are leak leaking and some other gaskets and things it probably would have to have the engine come out again to fix them I don't they're not leaking so bad I don't you'll have to decide what you want to do there I don't know well maybe I'll call the uh place that just did the work and maybe they can fix it so I don't have to do that again yeah if there's that possibility there we don't want to tear into it and mess with it and ruin any kind of warranty you might have so I guess see what they say and we'll go from there yeah what about the air conditioning we got it fixed that's another thing when they remove this engine out there is a pressure line that goes to the center of the car it was just cracked in half so I don't know if it got flexed or bent during the engine removal but we're able to repair it and it came back alive yeah great pretty old I suppose so yeah and then I had to manually flip on a fan switch to get the uh cooling fans to work so was that hard to find um Daniel found some connectors that were melted he fixed them and fixed the connection so they won't melt again there's also a temperature sensor for the main fans and also the AC f man up there that just the sensors are dead that's all it is well okay and I know the Challenger on the other side oh my God uh the block is off to the machine shop right yep they have the block and they're getting parts ordered and everything so it's probably going to be there for a little while lovely well this is turning into a complete restoration of a Hellcat uh but I did get something fun coming for it oh you did it's on the way it's a surprise huh yes but uh it looks like the one car that is done up here is the Audi TT and just from this distance it looks so so much better from when I bought it the $1,000 Audi uh the suspension was aftermarket on the thing the wheels even more ugly aftermarket so to have it on his Factor wheels and suspension it just looks so so much better but uh yeah the leaks were pretty unbelievable on this thing so is that all fixed yep we got all that fixed a lot of parts under the hood at least improved you know that they really put a lot of custom parts and weird stuff on yeah but we put the correct coil in remember it had some hodge podge coil on it we found an air filter so it's not sucking in raw air that's good the oil pan was the crazy one where they used a rock and JB Weld or whatever it's got a brand new oil pan all those leaks are fixed so it's a happy camper it's a good driver now and will'll never be perfect ever again but this is a good usable car for somebody somebody it's definitely not $1,000 anymore right no no it's not and Al we made sure the the rear Hall deex is actually working we we just made got on some dirt roads and did some little burnouts and it actually engages at work okay so the quattra all Drive is good yeah all right well I guess I'll leave you the Escalade and take uh take this one home right the keys are bill bill bill I will never forget the bill you can't play that game on me yeah just because it was a $1,000 Audi that doesn't mean the parts have gone down in value with the car right so it's Volkswagen it's a Jetta basically right well the price may not reflect that here's the damage uh $2500 yes okay yeah fixing the AC all the oil pans the CV shafts uh one ignition coil putting on the bumper finding me an air filter that pars car didn't really get me very far without an engine in it it didn't one thing you got to think of is there was Labor to take it off par car labor to put it on the good car it kind of doubled the labor in a way right yeah and all the uh all the suspension and stuff but it's alive again and it works it's not leaking all over the place you want an AI I don't not that one specifically not that one this might be the one where I let you mechanically in it and is probably worth less than the bill okay I won't run out the door but I need to remember like in this day and age any car that works is like a $5,000 car right now it is it's it's crazy so I didn't lose I don't think we'll see I'm good at losing wo still makes those fun turbo noises even with a an air filter on it now uh using it to work it has all the Ferrari interior pieces that need redone uh to take over to the upholstery shop but it rides so so much better with the stock suspension and a little more tire completely transformed it the lights well the be on forever this thing will never be pretty but I am going to take it out of the van go at least get the bumper painted try and buff off that weird yellow that's on the hood and make it a little bit better so yeah I am $3,500 into it now but it'll probably be another thousand so yeah this is the dumbest Auto channel in all of YouTube thank you so much for watching\n"
