**Unboxing the Carbon A1**
I'm here to unbox this new Android ICS based phone from Carbon and let's see what it has in store for us. As you can see, it comes with a Micro SD card slot, which is always a good sign. So, I'll add that over here so that it goes into like this. Let's also put the SIM card in, which fits perfectly as expected. Now, let's put back the back cover of the phone, and to my surprise, it's made up of plastic. Not exactly what you'd expect from a high-end Android device.
**Powering On**
Let's see if we can power on this phone now. I'll just press the power button here, and... yes! It boots up pretty quickly. And as you can see, the specs listed on the box are 437 watts per kg, which is actually quite good. Now, let's check the boot animation - it's that old ICS style animation we've seen before from Carbon phones.
**Setting Up the Phone**
Now that it's booted up, let's set up the phone. It took about 2 to 3 minutes to complete the setup process, which is pretty quick. We get five home screens - 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. They all look very similar to a stock Android experience.
**Checking the Settings**
Let's take a look at the settings. As you can see, we have this quick toggle tray that's always available in the bottom left corner of the screen. We also have the Android version - out of the box, it comes with Android 4.0.4. The screen looks pretty nice and is quite bright.
**Gestures**
I still don't get the point of these manufacturers releasing new Android ICS based phones with touch-type buttons at the bottom home, menu, back, and search. It's just not a feature that many users appreciate.
**Browsing the Internet**
Let's fire up the browser before that. As you can see, we have this default storage setting that divides it into two parts - system space (581 MB) and internal storage (2.5 GB). And yes, you can also add a Micro SD card to increase the storage space.
**Display Settings**
Let's take a look at the display settings. Yes, we do have auto-brightness, which is activated by a built-in sensor that detects changes in lighting conditions.
**Benchmarks and Performance**
Let's fire up the web browser now and try to go to tech.com. The screen looks good if you look directly at it, but not exactly an IPS great screen because when I tilt this screen a little bit more, the image starts fading slightly. Let's open up a story and see... it loaded quickly and fine.
**Testing the Video Player**
Let's try playing back a video that's embedded within this web page. The volume rocker lets me increase the volume, and we can hear the audio clearly without any issues. I also tried to play back another video by searching for "giki ranit" on YouTube... it loaded in high quality mode with no issues.
**Additional Features**
Let's check what else comes pre-installed on this phone. We have FM radio, Kingston Office is also pre-installed apart from that WhatsApp is there, vat is there, POI, and NextGen TV. Let's fire up the YouTube app and search for "carbon A1" to see if it plays the video created by Carbon. The video opens in high quality mode with no issues.
**Final Thoughts**
That's all for now for this quick unboxing of the Carbon A1. If you have any particular questions regarding this phone, feel free to let me know in the comment section below. I'll be doing a standard benchmarking process and testing more features on this phone in my next video, so stay tuned!
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: enhi there this is ranit from tas.com and in this video we're going to do the unboxing for this carbon a21 Android phone and uh it's a 1.2 GHz Android phone but it's part by a dual C processor and if you can see it says the processor is a Snapdragon from Qualcomm it also supports a 5 map rear facing camera and a front-facing 1.3 map camera and uh let's have a look at some of the specs it says it has 18800 mamp battery and I believe the screen is a 4.5 in screen and uh here the pricing for the same quoted here is 11,900 but fisel Communications quoted me a street price of around 9,800 for this phone and before opening the seal I want to thank fil Communications for providing this unit for review so let me break the seal and let's see what comes inside this first we get the handset itself so let me take it it out and we get some IMI stickers let me keep that out and let's see what else do we get in the Box we also get a screen guard that's nice we get this uh earphones the white uh style earphones that have look very similar to actually the old Apple earbuds power adapter and I think special a USB cable again that's also white in color so let me keep all these things aside the battery itself so let me take that out and it's a 18800 mamp battery and again some literature the carbon cinic service centers Etc and the a small user manual also that's interesting let's look at the same it's black and white in color just basic info I would say how to use the phone so let me keep all these things to the side and let's put in this battery on this phone and let's try to power it on and we have an indent over here using which we can pry open back the cover and as we can see we have two sims uh the first is gsm only and the second one is 3G compatible and we can also add a Micro SD card over here so so let me add the Sim it goes in like this and let's also put in the battery and let's put back the back cover the back cover is again as expected made up of plastic and let's see if we can power on this phone and I just also wanted to show you that the s rating on the box is 437 watts per kg and that's good and it's booting and it say is again 1.2 GHz and the old ICS style uh booting that we have seen earlier carbon phones so let me just quickly skip this and I'll be back when it boots and actually I didn't have to uh cut because it booted pretty fast let's hit the start button and let's set up the phone and the setup is done so took about 2 to 3 minutes and uh it's done and we do get five home screens 1 2 3 4 5 get this looks very similar to stock Android experience uh let me just go to the settings we have this quick toggle tray over here so that's nice and let's go to the Android version and as uh we can see see out of the box it comes with the Android version 4.0.4 also the screen looks pretty nice it's pretty bright actually let's see if it has something in the gallery let's if it has anything nothing is there and we do have these four touch type capacitor buttons at the bottom home uh menu back and search I still don't get the point of these manufacturers releasing new Android ICS based phones with these old touch type buttons uh as we are connected let's fire up the uh browser before that let's look at the uh storage I did not add a what do you say a Micro SD card we can add that let's look at the default storage that we get and uh it says the storage is divided into two parts uh it says the system space is 581 and again internal storage is about 2.5 57 GB so uh and you can also add a Micro SD card so in terms of storage you shouldn't have a problem let's look at the display let's look at the brightness setting and yes it does have auto brightness uh setting so there is a sensor for that so that's nice so uh let me fire up the web browser now and let's try to go to tech.com let's do that again uh I would say the screen is pretty good if you look directly but it's not a IPS great screen because if I tilt this screen a little bit much the image is fading a little bit anyways let's go to tech tas.com and as you can see again it loaded it uh pretty quickly uh it's a dual C processor the r R but uh on this phone is just 52 MB so I'll be testing it a little bit more with simple Pages like this it looks like it's doing the job pretty fine no issues let's open up uh the story and see okay that loaded also fine let's change the orientation that's also fine and let me try to play back this video that is embedded within this web page volume rocker let me increase the volume hi there this is Raj from.com and in this video I'm going to talk about the new Android update as again that's also okay no issues seems fine let me try one more website like let's say Tex sport.com and it's going to the mobile version okay loaded it pretty fine let's go to the desktop version now let's go to the desktop version and now it's loaded the full desktop version and yeah pinch to zoom is looks fine there's a little bit of lagginess that I noticed yes it's there but maybe it's just because it has 52 MB of ram so I'll be testing this uh phone a lot more so if you have any particular questions regarding this phone uh do let me know in the comment section below uh looks like uh carbon did not install a lot of apps we do have this FM radio and Kingston office is also pre installed apart from that WhatsApp is there vat is there POI and NextGen TV we also have this Times of India app let's also fire up YouTube app and see and let's search for giki ranit yeah and uh let's open this carbon A1 video and let's go in this orientation it's loading in the high quality mode as expected no issues because most of the phones can play Back YouTube videos without issues so again uh that's it for now for this quick unbox in of this carbon a21 if you have any particular questions regarding this phone do let me know I'll be doing my standard benchmarks Etc with this phone so stay tuned to my channel
