Best Apple Watch Apps - May 2015

As I began to explore the world of fitness and wellness apps for my Apple Watch, I realized that there were many options available. One app that caught my eye was Veeva Fit. This app offers a wide variety of exercises to participate in, but what's really cool about it is that all of the exercising auto-detection takes place on your Apple Watch. The audio dictation, or audio playback, actually takes place on your iPhone, and this allows you to see exactly what you need to do without having to constantly check your watch.

This feature alone made me excited to try out Veeva Fit. I was eager to see how it would work for me and whether it would be a valuable addition to my fitness routine. After downloading the app, I was pleased to find that it was free in the App Store. I thought this was a great starting point, as I could try it out without committing to a paid subscription.

Another app that caught my attention was Alarm.com. As someone who has been using Alarm.com for years, both while living with my parents and when I moved into my own place, I was excited to see that it was one of the first apps available on the Apple Watch. This app tightly integrates with your home security system, allowing you to arm and disarm your house at the tap of your wrist. While my house does not currently support most of the features offered by Alarm.com, I was impressed by the convenience and functionality of this app.

For those who may be unfamiliar with Alarm.com, it's a popular choice for home security and automation. The app allows you to control various aspects of your home, such as lights, garage doors, and even live video on supported security cameras. While some features were not available in my house, the ability to quickly arm and disarm my system was a huge plus.

In addition to Alarm.com, I also wanted to explore some other apps that were available for the Apple Watch. One app that caught my eye was Swarm. As someone who has used Foursquare in the past, I was excited to see that it had undergone a major rebranding and was now known as Swarm. This app offers a similar experience to Foursquare, but with a simpler interface.

When I first started using Swarm on my Apple Watch, I found that the experience was very basic but also very useful. To access the app, all I needed to do was swipe up from my main watch face and then tap on Swarm from my Glances view. From there, I could quickly check in to the most local location. While some features were limited compared to Foursquare, such as the ability to customize my check-in with a message or photo, the core functionality of the app was still very useful.

Finally, I wanted to explore one more app that is close to my heart: Pandora. As someone who has been using Pandora for years, I was thrilled to see that it had an official app available on the Apple Watch. This app allows you to control your music, browse your existing Pandora stations, and even create new stations using voice dictation.

For me, one of the biggest benefits of having a Pandora app on my Apple Watch is the convenience. When I'm listening to music on my Bluetooth speaker or through my iPhone, I can easily switch between songs or change stations without having to navigate back to my iPhone. This has been particularly useful for me when I've been camping or traveling with family members who have their own devices.

Overall, I was impressed by the variety of apps available on the Apple Watch and how they catered to different needs and interests. Whether you're looking for a fitness app like Veeva Fit, a home security app like Alarm.com, or a music streaming app like Pandora, there's an option out there for you.
