The Best TV Soundbar in the World... I NEED THIS! 😮
**The Bowers & Wilkins Sound Bar Theater: A Luxury Audio Experience**
The Bowers & Wilkins Sound Bar Theater is an all-in-one sound bar that boasts impressive features and design, making it a top contender in the luxury audio market. With its sleek fabric option or oak wood finish, this sound bar seamlessly blends into any living room, giving it a retro Scandi vibe. The ability to customize the color and finish of the fabric and wood at an additional cost further enhances its appeal.
One of the standout features of the Bowers & Wilkins Sound Bar Theater is its aluminum wings, which can be upgraded in size as the TV grows. These wings not only provide a sleek design but also improve sound quality by directing sound forward. This feature becomes more pronounced with larger TVs, making it an excellent choice for those planning to upgrade their display in the future.
The Bowers & Wilkins Sound Bar Theater is equipped with 12 speaker drivers, including two custom six and a half-inch woofers – the largest subs found in any sound bar. These drivers are paired with advanced software that creates a rich audio experience. The soundbar can be used as the center of a 7.1.4 Dolby Atmos setup or even support up to 16 external loudspeakers, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a home theater solution.
During our testing, we discovered that the Bowers & Wilkins Sound Bar Theater requires calibration when first set up and every time changes are made. However, this ensures that the soundbar always provides the best possible audio experience. The software behind the scenes plays a significant role in delivering exceptional sound quality, alongside the hardware design.
The Bowers & Wilkins Sound Bar Theater comes with several HDMI ports, including one supporting the latest 2.1 specification for HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and eARC (enhanced Audio Return Channel). This is especially beneficial for those using their PS5 or Xbox as well as UHD Blu-ray players or TV boxes. Additionally, it features eight power links and an array of streaming options, including Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Spotify Connect, and more.
Although I'm not a professional audio engineer, my initial impressions of the Bowers & Wilkins Sound Bar Theater are overwhelmingly positive. The sound produced by this device is indeed epic, making it stand out from other soundbars in its class. However, as with any high-end product, there may be diminishing returns, especially considering the significant price tag.
The marketing efforts surrounding this soundbar might come across as gimmicky at times, but the Bowers & Wilkins Sound Bar Theater itself is a masterclass in design and engineering. It's an unmistakable piece of art that also happens to be an incredibly high-end audio solution. While it may be too niche for some, those who are willing to invest in premium products like this one might find themselves convinced by the benefits.
The luxury market often prioritizes exclusivity over practicality, as seen with Ferrari and Maserati. The Bowers & Wilkins Sound Bar Theater is a prime example of this approach, offering an exceptional audio experience that caters to a specific audience willing to invest in top-notch products. With other brands providing more compact and affordable options, the Bowers & Wilkins Sound Bar Theater stands out as an extreme opposite direction.
As with any luxury product, there may be skepticism about spending such a large sum on a soundbar. However, if you're already investing thousands of dollars in a high-end TV, justifying another $6-7 grand for this device might become easier to accept. Nevertheless, the Bowers & Wilkins Sound Bar Theater remains an extremely niche product, catering to a specific segment of consumers willing to splurge on premium audio solutions.
**What Do You Think?**
The Bowers & Wilkins Sound Bar Theater is undoubtedly a remarkable piece of engineering and design. Its sleek look and exceptional sound quality make it an attractive option for those seeking the best possible audio experience. However, its price tag might be off-putting to many consumers. With this luxury product comes a unique set of challenges, including determining whether or not it justifies the investment.
Whether or not you're tempted to purchase one of these luxurious soundbars is entirely up to individual preference and budget. Those interested in exploring further may find it helpful to watch videos demonstrating its capabilities firsthand, as well as reading reviews from experts and other consumers who have used this product.
"WEBVTTKind: captionsLanguage: ennow i must admit i thought i was splurging when i spent 700 quid on my sonos arc soundbar this takes things to another level this is the new bang olufsen bo sound theater sound bar and it starts at five and a half thousand pounds or nearly seven if you want this fancy wood on the side which makes it the world's most expensive sound bar at over twice the price of say the sennheiser ambio or the dvla dion but does it make it the best soundbar and is there any way you could possibly justify spending that kind of money on this well maybe but first a quick mention from our sponsor tcl who are also showing off some exciting new tech here at ifa in berlin and i was invited as a special guest to have a little tour of their booth and see what they had going on we've got new mini led tvs up to 8k this guy 136 inch 4k cinema wall it always amazes me how much stuff tcl make i mean who needs four normal walls when you could have three and a cinema wall now this is only a prototype for now but it looks incredible thanks to that micro led display which is essentially the next generation screen technology that gives us the best of oled contrast with the brightness of mini led or qled this is definitely one to keep an eye on but for now here are some new tvs that you can actually buy and tcl have unveiled a range of new mini led and quantum dot 4k and ak tvs take the new c935s which top out with this whopping 98 inch model we're talking 4k mini led quantum dot up to 2 000 nits of brightness also 144 hertz refresh which you don't see very often and will be great for pc gaming as well as dolby atmos and imax enhanced sound and all these run google tv software with a bunch of tcl's own display and software tech that's upscaling and optimizing the picture in the background and it's not just tvs tcl is now also getting into gaming with this new 34 inch mini led 165hz gaming monitor there's so many people here felina what do you make of the wall i love it cinema at home i like that look who it is it's vincent hey how you doing buddy hi man big mario man you're doing great work here no i admire him i look up to this guy what do you think of the tcl booth fantastic i think you know they keep it up with some really nice display i especially like the really large one you know i'm a sucker for size i've heard that tcl have also been showing off their new fresh in ac units there's a whole range of fridges and washing machines as well as a whole load of other smart home tech and that's tcl if you want to find out more about some of the tech i just showed you click the links in the description below okay so what makes the bo sound theater special aside from that price well there's a few things and before we even get to the sound quality and the features what really sets this apart is bno expect it to last 10 years or more it's modular repairable and upgradable which they say technically you could do yourself although that would void the three-year warranty really you'd get an engineer from the shop to come to your home and make any changes but for example this whole section can be removed and swapped out for new connections and inputs in the future the audio chip can be upgraded although even now they say it's only using 50 of its computational power they've essentially built this to be as future proof and also sustainable as possible so instead of maybe buying a whole new sound bar every few years this could last you over a decade although that is a big if we've heard promises of modular upgradeability by brands before but what gives me more confidence here is the fact that you compare this with older bno speakers going back as far as the late 1980s and then use those as extra or surround speakers you just plug them in and the software does the rest this stuff is built to last so let's talk about this design and while you can place it any way you like really this is designed to have the tv mounted on top of it it should work with nearly any tv although here they're demonstrating it with 55 65 and 75 inch lg oleds so you mount this bracket to your tv which uses its visa mount holes and there are adapters if your holes are in weird places if you know what i mean but once mounted either on top of the soundbar or on a wall mount or one of their famous swively stands you can then hide and run all your cables through the back and keep everything nice and tidy there's even room for an apple tv inside the bracket if you want it's designed to be an all-in-one piece and an all-in-one sound bar and i must admit it does look good the fabric option is less intrusive but with the oak wood it becomes a piece of furniture with slightly retro scandi vibes i like it a lot and naturally with bno you can customize the color and the finish of the fabric in the wood all at an additional cost also these aluminium wings can be changed out for bigger sizes if you upgrade your tv in the future so it's always flush with the edge and i'm told it does actually improve the sound quality as it helps direct the sound forward so technically the bigger the tv the bigger the wing the better the sound speaking of which how does this actually sound well as you would expect given being a pedigree and also that price tag it's pretty incredible actually now i want to clap on the third thing don't speed up roger keep that time inside you can see this thing is chocked full of forward side not firing speakers in total we have 12 speaker drivers including two custom six and a half inch woofers in fact these are the biggest subs in any sound bar and if you don't have any of the speakers then this is a good place to start but the bsm theater can also be the center of a 7.1.4 dolby atmos setup and it even supports up to 16 external loudspeakers with the soundbar acting as the center but you know we're actually demoing the theater with a pair of bo lab 28 floor stand speakers which during this james bond showcase which they tell me they have got the license for so hopefully this video won't get taken down they were working as the rear channels and the theater sound bar and the software then does all the mixing now the theater does require a calibration when you set it up for the first time and again each time you add a new speaker or change the setup but that does mean you're always going to get the best sound and actually it does reinforce the fact that it's not just the hardware and the fancy design the software magic behind the scenes and the options you have in the app itself all make a big difference we get four hdmi ports one of which is the latest 2.1 spec that supports erc dobby atmos 8k or 4k120 which is great for your ps5 and xbox as well as your uhd blu-ray player or tv box and that's along with eight power links and we get more streaming options than you can shake a stick at from bluetooth airplay 2 chromecast spotify connect bo link multi-room dlna there's a ton of options now i have to admit i'm not a audiophile really i'm not a professional sound engineer or audio expert i'm much more of a sort of consumer when it comes to these kind of products and also remember what you're hearing is recorded by my microphone and then compressed by youtube and then being played back by your speakers or earphones so there's a lot of loss here which is not what you want to see but here when it comes to a speaker so you really have to experience this in person but to my ears at least it sounds epic i wouldn't buy one at least not yet because this is a first so i've only had a couple of hours to play with this and i would love to take this home right now put it next to my sonos arc and have a proper side by side now with any kind of high end especially luxury tech there will be diminishing returns but i am confident this sounds better even if it's subtle and of course it's not just about the pure sound it's also the design the uh upgradability how it sort of feeds into the tv there's a lot more to it than just a sound bar what strikes me is that in stark contrast to the slightly gimmicky marketing stun that was the balenciaga speaker bag thing they did recently for me this is a real piece of art a piece of furniture and also a piece of extremely high-end audio equipment and arguably if you're gonna spend thousands and
